Pffft I was excited for Slayers Revolution as well but I've seen the first half of it and part of the second half and it honestly sucks. It's not really all that funny. I feel like they tried TOO hard to appeal to new fans of Slayers versus giving it a good hardy story line like you said Ty, it was just fandom and that's that. It's disgusting!
I think that even if you didn't watch the whole series of Slayers before Set, and you watch Revolution you can still sense that something is a miss.. I mean because it's not what Slayers REALLY is. It's a disappointment in my eyes. However I think if you watch the older series of it you'll be fine. 3nodding
My favorite crack pairing is actually Xellos/Valgaav. x3333;; I've done fan arts and comics for them actually. sweatdrop

xD Well, Revolution/Evolution-R will never compete; I knew that when I watched it. I grew up just having vague memories of Slayers --especially the first opening; I'd get that song stuck in my head and for the longest time I didn't even remember what it was from-- and then when I watched it, I was like eek exclaim I KNOW THIS!!! Like that one part from Next where the chunk of Sairuun is floating around, and a few lines from it, I just knew. Which was really weird, cuz Slayers came out the year I was born, and my older siblings only watched it in, like, 1999 or something. sweatdrop

Oh yes, of course I do Ty! ^^ How could I not? xD Though I really hate Naga/Lina, Naga/Amelia, Amelia/Lina pairings... I just don't think that's right... xp However I guess Naga/Lina could be done tastefully. confused
And yes hmmmm... I can't quite remember when I first saw Slayers but I know it was when I was still living back in Cali and they still had the cool International channel -you remember that right Ty? ^^ It was an awesome channel that had anime on it usually subbed. Anyways, I saw it on there for the first time, I caught like beginning of the first season and I watched a couple episodes each day until I decided I needed the whole series. XD So I got some money from my mom to by the DVDs off of ebay, they were bootlegged but whatever. xd And then I watched the whole series over the course of like 3 or 4 days. xd I loved it so much! x3; I'm not sure what year that was though I want to say 2000 or 2001. sweatdrop
Anyways another point I'm getting to is that just because something came out here a certain year doesn't mean that someone is going to know about it instantly and like it. There's so many different anime that have come out in all different eras that it's just hard to remember. However I know someone who recently got into Gundam Wing... And Mayra and I are all like, we already saw this, you're too young! xd So it's just how I said before, it's not your generation. xD Same stuff applies I suppose.

I want that channel!! *sigh* I watched all of Try in I think, two days tops. The whole figgin' series, all three seasons, in less than one month.

yes sug I remember that channel it was cool^^
I saw it a few years before that channel, my older sister had the last season so I saw the last season first^^; Well what was the last season at the time anyway. It wasn't until IC came out that i watched more then the movies with naga and the last season.

xD It was after when she first saw him...It was around the time when Lina cast the Giga Slave on him...I didn't actually read it, Kyoudai did and she told me not to read it...But I think Amelia was yelling at the Lord of Nightmares and demanding Phibrizo back...and something about Amelia learning the Giga Slave too.... sweatdrop
Ty, seeing the last season first is kinda wrong...But, I can't really comment...I saw the first three episodes of Try before I watched the rest of the series, and I was completely lost... sweatdrop Blame it on Naomi; she's the one who watched it with me there...

How much do they have up, subbed? I only got to episode ten of the first season....>.< And let me tell you; either I just wasn't paying attention the first time I watched Slayers or not, but when I watched in in Japanese things made a lot more sense. Maybe cuz the subtitles were all nice and clear, instead of in the dub where they said all the names wrong.
Actually, I watched a few episodes of Next recently on the FUNimation channel, and they spelled Gaav 'Garp'. .... I know, it's horrible and funny at the same time. sweatdrop

Oh god I haaaaaaaate the dub voice of Xellos it makes me want to curl up in a small ball and keel over. xDDDD I remember I watched the first season in English dub with my 7 year old niece though she liked the show, however honestly I think she was just claiming to like it because she wanted to impress me or something.
Anyways we watched it in English because she couldn't read subtitles that fast. xd And I had downloaded the first season from a torrent onto the computer my sister's family had. I bet that computer is a piece of s**t by now without me taking care of if for 2 years. xd
*covers Set's ears* Now don't you... *uncovers them* Now don't you go watching anymore Slayers in English, it'll make your intelligence go down. xd *recovers them*

xD M'kay. Xelloss' voice scared me. Then I watched it in Japanese and I was like 'hm, it's totally not what I had gotten used to...It's BETTER!!'
*shudders* I remember...In episode ...ten, I think, of Next...Xelloss casts Blast Bomb on some Mazoku who are attacking Lina while her magic is sealed. *whimpers* His voice was so awful. I was practically crying, it was so croaky and weird. >.< crying
But the other English dub voices don't bother me as much. 3nodding Especially Zel's second voice. *glomps Zel*

Zel's second voice...? He's been voiced by the same guy for all three seasons. xd
And yeah I am SO glad I didn't have NEXT to watch with my niece, there would be no way in HELL that I would ever listen to Xellos's voice in English, no never.

No, the first ten episodes he was voiced by some other dude...At least in the dubbed...
xD Yeah, and Phibby's voice kinda wears on your nerves when he cackles madly. Besides, the English voice actors' screaming in pain and such really, really, suck/.
