The walls were not bloodstained and the floor was not littered with trash and debris. In fact, everything was quite clean! The windows that were broken had been completely cleared of glass, and those that were whole were cleaned and shining. The furniture was old, and the decorations were clearly aging, but it was still very well-kept.
"Well. Here we are."

The dark haired man nodded and looked around.
"Interesting. It's really quiet here, isn't it?"

"Yes. Very. It keeps me from my insanity," Jaime said. 'His' insanity, as if he already had it and needed ways to control it.
"Bas keeps me company sometimes, and otherwise I keep to myself. Only hunger draws me away...hunger and curiosity."

"You know what they say about curiosity." Carlos grinned, looking about. Interesting!
"And hopefully I can keep you company now too."

"You plan to visit?" Jaime asked. He hadn't expected anything to happen past the reveal, really. He knew time wouldn't suddenly cease, but he hadn't really thought about a possible friendship.
"I would very much like it if you would. I could use some help replacing the windows, finishing the roof..."
He paused and turned to face Carlos.
"I really am mostly blind during the day. And my eyes are not black. They are blue. ...they were once blue."

"Sure." Carlos grinned. "I'd love to help you." He stepped closer, looking at him. Hmmm.... Looking at the eyes!
"They're nice eyes."

Jaime looked up at him, his eyes a bit sad. If eyes were the windows to the soul, he definitely had huge windows.
"They are dead eyes."
