Looking at the dwarf Kale shook his head, ''Grave yards, I've seen plenty of those in my line of work." Shivering a bit as Kale slid off some of his armor to make himself lighter Kale looked back to the dwarf, ''Now if its like the grave yards I've usually been in...I'll probably need more holy water and mana stones." Kale said as he looked around for a place to safely store his armor so he could switch it with his chain mail.

The snow let up slightly, allowing a series of caves to become visible. Oddly, even though they had been walking but a couple of hours, they seemed to already be at their destination.

Blunderbuss laughed at Kale. "Naw, all it takes is a good axe. Besides, I think these townsfolk would have noticed the walking dead around if that was the case." He turned to the monk. "Well, come on 'robes,' times a wastin'"

The monk stood silently, without saying a word, and picked up the pack next to him. Him and the dwarf started walking toward the door.

At the crashing sounds, Hope had ripped Dirth from the sheath on her back. Now she calmly replaced him and looked over at the Bard.

Chuckling softly she said, "Zywynran... thank you."

"I was hoping you had more appropriate attire in your pack. Is the inside of your cloak more subdued? Can you flip it? If not, maybe we can rig something to cover your clothes with our blankets."

Sighing as he slung his pack of supplies and armor Kale removed his shield from his back and slung his sword in place of it. Wrapping his coat and cloak around himself Kale hurried up as he left the door with the dwarf and monk, into the snow sinking down slightly more than the other two because of his extra weight.

"I did not pack for adventuring, I'm afraid. I only heard about Dargon and its problem while en route." Zywynran observed his cloak, which was covered with snow and damp. To flip it would probably not be very comfortable. "These are the caves we are attempting to reach, are they not? We are practically there. Perhaps further adjusting of my wardrobe can wait until we have gone inside? My cloak is damp and cold; I will be of no use to anyone if I fall ill."

Raelise nodded her head slightly at the bard's suggestion, but eyes, narrowed into thin, pale blue slits, did not stray away from the cave's entrance. Why had they reached their destination so quickly? If her calculations had been correct, they still had at least four hours of travel ahead of them, and yet... here they were. It was possible that the directions have been faulty, but it was still enough to make her nervous.

Shaking her head to clear it, she started toward the cave's entrance.

(To Hope, Raelise, and Zywynran)

As they approached, they heard a strange wailing sound. To elven ears, it was obvious it was just the wind, but to human ears, it was fairly obvious why the villagers thought the caves were haunted. It made a lonely wailing noise, similar to that of a sickly dying woman.

(To Kale)

As they approached the graveyard, one thing was startling. To those who didn't know that the town started as a military garrison to ward off Goblin invasions when they were far more populous, the graveyard would have been disproportionate to a town of this size. The graves went on and on. Most of them had the stones of soldiers on them, listing ranks, and rusting medals were inset into the stones.

Blunderbuss looked at Kale over his shoulder. "I'm a hunter by the way. I was asked to track a little tyke who had disappeared lately. She had last been seen around her, by the grave of her father.

What a mournful sound, Zywynran thought to himself as he followed Raelise. It was just the wind, he was certain of it, but that hardly mattered to a romanticist such as his self. Knowing the sound to be naught more than the whine of frigid air blowing through bare branches hardly prevented him from imagining it to be something much more dreadful and heartbreaking. He could almost imagine it to be a woman, crying out for someone long lost to her. He could picture her wandering, lost and half starved... or perhaps dead already. A haunting spirit as the town folk feared, snatching up any who bore even the slightest resemblance to her lost loved ones. Zywynran shook his head slightly, hoping to clear it of such fanciful thoughts. It would be a fine story to tell, long after he left Dargon, but his purpose here now was to learn the truth of the matter.

Crossing himself Kale kicked a little stone while he walked, ''A hunter? Don't they have pets most of the time? Or is our monk friend actually a disguised doggy?" Kale said chuckling to himself. Unsheathing his shield and began to spin it around to amuse himself.

The monk ignored the gibe, and Blunderbuss laughed. "No, no. I've got meself a bird!" he pointed up at a hawk over head, which slowly circled their position."

Looking up to the Hawk Kale turned to the monk extending a hand, ''I don't think we fully met, Mr?" Keeping his head up to the sky watching the Hawk Kale was kinda memorized by it. Then suddenly Kale tripped over a stone his outstretched arm still out and fell face first into the snow his wrist bending back as he landed.

Standing up brushing snow from himself Kale looked as if didn't feel the pain of his wrist bent back, although upon a closer look tears of pain were collecting in his eyes.

Since it only sounded like wind to her, Raelise payed the noise little attention as she continued on into the caves. She was careful to move silently, and listened hard for any hint of a sound that would be unusual in their current setting. Suddenly, just inside the cave's mouth, she stopped, her expression faintly nervous. Her eyes flicked around the semi-darkness of the cave's interior, and then she slowly turned back to face her two companions. "Did he say how deep these caves went?" she asked, her voice a little too casual.

Zywynran stepped very close to Raelise so that his voice would carry to her even in a whisper. They wished him to be quiet, and so he would be, though it violated his very nature. "He did not, and I doubt anyone knows. These caves are thought to be haunted; likely no one ventures any further into them than we just have." Zywynran smiles without a care in the world. "We should go meet her; our wailing spirit. I am certain she just desires a bit of company." The bard knows his serious companion will see no humor in his teasing, but it certainly amused him. And he would take what amusement he could! No bells, no song, no color; his father must have been a very boring man to work under such dull conditions!

Raelise blinked. "Spirit? I hear no spirit," she whispered back. She turned to face the depths of the cave again and swallowed involuntarily. She did not like being underground. At all. Period. Why hadn't she realized that her... problem would be an issue before? Maybe she could stand watch... No, that wouldn't do... Her eyes stopped on the pitch black toward the back of the cave, and she slowly took an unconscious step backward, cursing in barely audible elvish.

"With all due respect, my dear, you have absolutely no imagination. I shall have to take on the dubious task of being the imagination for this entire group, I think." he chuckled and moved forward. Zywynran had no particular aversion to caves and so he walked a few steps ahead before he turned to Raelise. He was confused, then alarmed by her behavior. She seemed... reluctant, if he were to put it lightly. Zywynran pursed his lips as he thought on how to address the issue indirectly. He had no real inkling of her fear or why she was afraid, and simply assumed that she had no love of the dark. And so he turned to the human of their party and spoke. "Should we light a torch? The way ahead is fairly dark. Who sees whom first is an irrelevant concern if you cannot see at all."
