((OKAY READY GO. ALRIGHTTTTTTTTTTT!))

When Lilith mentioned it being her fault he just waved a free hand, face still in his pillows. "Yeah. Uh. No. You, I don't... it's alright." He managed to get out between gulps of air. And then there was an airy laugh, a raspy and breathless sound. "Thrill.. ha... let's not. No more today. I don't think. I'm going to just lay here." And he fell quiet and just lay still instead.

Once Talen was sure Cain was gone he eased Abel up again.

"Close call!" He said grinning, but the smile wasn't in his eyes. They were warily to the door Cain had came from. "Let's try to avoid him for at LEAST the rest of the day, huh?" He grasped Abel's shoulder gently and gave him a little shake. He then dusted himself off and ambled on out.

At the sight of Saul he crouched beside his bed and put a hand to his back. "Geez... he really gets to you, doesn't he?"

Saul didn't think that needed to be answered.

Talen looked to Lilith with a look in his eyes that could have been called admiration. "You're not a b***h." He said. "You're a beast." He laughed. "The good kind... like I said if it ever comes to me and Cain again. I want YOU there to help me kick his a**." He laughed and then shook his head. "No fear. That's you. NO FEAR."

Saul shook his head in his pillows. "She's never a b***h." He said quietly.

Talen glanced at Saul with a look of surprise and grinned.

((hahahah, Saul is like: THANKS. <3.

lol.))

((Oh. my. gosh. I am SO freakin' cold! I can't like type correctly cause I am shivering!))

Abel slowly got to his feet as Talen helped him up. "Or perhaps even the rest of our...your human life." He gave a weak laugh that mimicked that quality of Talen's grin and followed his friend out of the bathroom. His eyes instantly focused on Saul and moved to his side, hovering over him nervously, checking for any new injuries or bruises.

Lilith looked up when Abel and Cain came out and she picked up her candy bar, examining it quietly as they checked on Saul. She felt like she needed some sort of sugar boost. She opened it up and took a large bite, chewing it lazily as Talen looked to her. "Mmmmm..." she said over her bite of candy before swallowing it down and tilting her head again.

"Fear." She said calmly and shrugged. "When you've lived with him for as long as I have, you forget what fear is." She took another bite and looked over to Saul, brows raised. She would have said something like 'And you're never high.' to counter what she thought was a sarcastic statement, but instead just took another bite of her candy bar. Her visible eye carefully looked away.

"Talen." Abel finally ventured from his hovering position over Saul. "When does Alice get off of work?"

((YEAAAAH LETS GOOOO... I has a beta fish. :B AND LOL. YOU CALLED TALEN CAIN.

I almost always type Abel instead of Talen sometimes. *laughs*))

Talen grinned at her and then looked to Abel at his remark. "... Oh... fuuu-fun house of horror." He finished and wrinkled his nose. He patted at his pants and found his cell phone. Once he looked at the clock he closed his eyes and made a soft hissing noise through his teeth.

"Great. Just what I need... more reasons for her to be pissed." Talen bent by Saul once more and patted his hand. "Get better, huh? I'll come back by tomorrow and see you." He smiled quickly and then waved beckoningly at Abel. "If we go quickly we might be able to still meet her there." He glanced at Lilith as he headed out the door.

"See you around." He said with a wave. "Stay out of trouble!" He joked and once again waved at Abel to follow after.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 02, 2009 2:36 pm

((Did I? Haha they're both punks. D:< ))

Abel laughed a bit as Talen slipped over his words as he took out his phone. "I just don't want her to be worried over you again." He said gently and then looked over to Saul as Talen checked his phone. As Talen moved and patted Saul's head, Abel smiled down at the injured boy and nodded. "We both will. So you don't you do anything bad while we're gone."

While Talen moved to the door, Abel looked up to Lilith who was watching him and Saul silently. "You stay safe too...okay?" He said quietly to the girl even after she removed her gaze from him. "Good Bye you two!" He said with a light laugh before following Talen out of the room.

"I hope she isn't too worried." He said as he sped up to get to Talen's side.

Lilith lifted herself from the window sill and threw her candy wrapper into the trash can. "I should probably go too. I've got a few things to do before I go home to make sure Cain didn't wreck the house yet." She said and stopped by Saul's bed, her eye watching him with a distant look. "You'll be okay by yourself, right?" She asked, put a hand to her hip and licking her lips.

"You better be. Every time you get into trouble, I am usually the one cleaning up your mess. I don't think you can get pot at the hospital though. So maybe you can start a rehab thing. Huh?" She smirked so slightly it was like a quiver of her muscle and she turned around. "See ya." She raised a hand and moved towards the door.

((YEAH they're both punks.... those PUNK HEADS.))

Saul, when Lilith mentioned she had better get going to, raised his head from his pillows to watch her. He fiddled with his fingers and then tugged at the front of his hair, a shaggy blond-ish mess that was desperately in need of a haircut. He seemed to struggle with words in his mouth as she continued to head for the door.

He smiled at her re-hab comment and then found the courage to look at her. "Even if Cain follows you back... I wouldn't mind you around." He said and then looked away again. "If you want."

((hehehe! <3))

Talen sighed. "Of course she'll be worried. She ALWAYS worries." He shook his head. "But that isn't fair... I sure give her good reasons to worry, don't I?" He asked of Abel and laughed a little. "Just keep up."

And when he said keep up he meant it. Once out of the hospital he was running down the sidewalk and vanished around the corner. He'd pause every once in awhile to make sure Abel was there or help him over or under any number of obstacles, but in a matter of ten or so minutes they found themselves outside of a burger joint.

It was just then that Talen's pocket began to ring. ((WHY DIDN'T HE HAVE IT BEFORE? PLOT HOLE. STFU. *laughs* I never think of those things.))

Talen grinned at Abel and answered it.

"WHERE ARE YOU?" Alice said on the other side.

"Right outside." Talen responded in a smug voice. He spied her through the window and waved. She caught sight of him and shook her head, but she was smiling. She hung up her phone and stuffed it into her bag. Talen flashed a smile at Abel. "Shall we?"

And he led the way in.

Of course the first thing that happened was. "WHAT. HAPPENED. TO YOUR. FACE?"

"Just something stupid!" He said evasively, somehow sliding her back into her chair with a hug. "It's just really... stupid... and not important. None of it is serious." He smiled. "How about you ask how Abel is doing?"

"IS HIS FACE LIKE THAT TOO?" She looked at him and sighed in relief. "Thank god... if you had messed up his face as bad as yours I would have kicked your BUTT, Talen. KICKED IT HARD."

Talen smiled at her. "I sure missed you today."

((LOL. THE END.))
PostPosted: Fri Jan 02, 2009 3:18 pm

Lilith looked over her shoulder at him and raised her brows. "If Cain followed me, I'd throw him in the pits of hell and not let him return." She seemed deathly serious for a split second before that flickering smile crossed her lips. "Maybe I'll come back later. If nothing comes up." She turned around again and left the room, trailing down the halls with that cold air.

((And sad thing is...I can see her doing that. Hahaha. "Get down there you little b*****d!" *kick and shoves* Okay, I am done being a dork.

JUST KIDDING.))

Abel kept up with Talen, though did indeed lag behind quite a bit, a good distance from the other boy as they ran down the sidewalks and streets. Eventually they came to the place and Abel came to a slow stop, breathing in and out as he leaned over and nodded. "That was some good exercise." Meaning 'that was rather tiring and almost deathly exhausting.'

When Talen's phone rang, Abel jumped slightly and stood up straight again, rubbing his head and steadying his heart beat as his body relaxed down. His eyes flashed to the side when Talen looked over to the window and he smiled widely when he saw Alice. "Oh!" He exclaimed, not needing much else to describe his happiness upon seeing her.

After they got to Alice, Abel let the two siblings bicker and fuss as he took a seat across from Alice and leaned back. "I'm fine." He said quietly and laughed when she said she'd kick his butt. "How was your day?" He finally asked Alice sweetly and looked to the glass of water in front of him.

((I'm hungry... and dinner is not ready yet... :C...))

When Abel asked Alice about her day her attention was immediately on him. She smiled and blew her hair out of her eyes. "Yanno... it was work." She rubbed at her head a little. "It wasn't great and it wasn't too bad."

"Does he know where you work?" Talen asked.

"It's really not imrportant!" She said, looking embarrassed.

"No! It is!" He slung an arm around his sister's shoulders. "I'm really proud of her!"

Alice rolled her eyes and half heartedly shoved at her brother. "Oh quit it."

"She's a nurse at a rest home." Talen said and Alice rolled her eyes again.

"It's really not THAT impressive."

"I think it is. Right Abel?" He looked to his friend, grinning. "She could have been a DOCTOR. She did killer on her MCAT's, but she decided to stick with her intern job. She's really great." He gave her a joking noogie.

Alice shook her head and pulled herself out of Talen's grip. "How was your guy's day, huh?" She said, trying to get the subject off her.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 02, 2009 4:19 pm

((Poor thing. I already ate my dinner. xD We have early dinners...))

Abel pulled the glass of water to his lips and drank some. After a second he realized just how thirsty he was and began to drink it all. His eyes peered out from the top of the glass, listening to Alice and Talen exchange conversation, still downing his water. It felt so refreshing that his eyes lightened and when it got just to the ice he tipped the glass back, trying to find more water.

As Talen asked if it was impressive a couple of cubes fell onto his face and he quickly tipped forward, the ice falling back into the glass. He used a pale hand to rub the moisture away and smiled happily to Alice. "That's amazing. It's always nice to see someone enjoy their job, and a job that helps people like that no less." He beamed at her and then nodded. "That's quite a selfless thing you know. A lot of people would have continued to be a doctor, but when someone decides to stay with something because it's worth while. I really find that an admirable thing." He licked his lips and glanced to Talen when she asked how their day was.

A waitress came by just in time and offered Abel some more water. "Oh, yes, please." He said with a smile, the waitress smiled back and poured him some water from a pitcher. "Thank you very much." He said as she walked away. He wasn't about to lie to Alice, he'd let Talen do that. "I learned a lot." He commented, because it was the truth, and then took a long gulp of water.

((Hahaha. I always do that when I drink...and the ice always falls on me. D: ))

((Early dinners are best... :C ))

Alice smiled and shook her head. "MEH!" She said. "You guys are too nice to me." She laughed and then she nodded. "Oh? You learned a lot?" She looked to Talen as Abel found himself busy with the waitress.

"Uh. Well... you know." Talen struggled to think. "VENDING machines." He nodded. "Yeah. We learned a lot about VENDING machines."

"Uh huh." Alice said suspiciously. "Yeah. Alright. VENDING MACHINES." She wiggled her fingers sarcastically.

"Hey! Abel was really impressed. And then he almost died, because... well... apparently he's allergic to peanuts."

"YOU ALMOST KILLED HIM?" Alice said suddenly. "Talen!"

"I didn't know!" He laughed a little nervously and picked up his menu. "How about we order food?"

"But what about everything else today... like what happened to your face?"

"I think I'll have the bacon cheese burger..." Talen said to himself.

Alice frowned. "Most unkosher thing on the menu. Way to be kosher." Sighing she handed Abel a menu. "I'm buying, so don't worry about anything you order." She said. She then turned back to Talen. "I got a call that you weren't in school today. Again."

Talen sighed heavily. "Something came up."

"WHAT came up?"

"Saul."

"Saul?" Alice's voice was softer. "Was he alright?"

"Well. No. No... no he wasn't. We had to take him to the hospital, didn't we?" Talen looked to Abel with raised eyebrows.

Alice put her hand to her mouth. "Oh my god." She said softly. She looked away and seemed unable to speak.

((hahaha, she's such a softie.))
PostPosted: Fri Jan 02, 2009 7:42 pm

Abel looked away as Talen explained to her what they did, trying not to get himself involved. He continued to drink his water and when he felt completely refreshed he began to blow on the ice cubes with his plastic straw, still avoiding involvement. "I didn't have vending machines growing up." He added so as to help Talen, still looking down at the ice.

"I'm alright, really." He said quietly and laughed a bit. "Didn't swallow any..." He trailed off when the conversation was tried to put to an end when Talen tried to stop it. His blue eyes lifted from the ice, straw in his lips as he studied the two, brows pulling up nervously. As Talen looked to him, Abel quickly avoided the gaze and stared down at his ice.

"...yeah..." he whispered and then took the menu, straw sticking out of his mouth as he looked at the food listed. There was so much to choose from. His face twisted into a confused yet determined look, chewing on the end of his straw as he ran through the menu. "Mmmmm..." he scratched his head and then put it down. "I'll get what you get." He decided, smiling at Alice and taking the straw out of his mouth.

"It's okay, Saul's doing okay. They fixed him up very well! America has a very decent hospital system. Where I came from we didn't have that much to work with. But the doctors were good and-" His phone went off. Jumping from startlement he pulled the phone from his pocket and flipped it open, holding it out slightly as a voice yelled out from it.

"How could you be so reckless?!" Said a strong, yet strangely beautiful voice. It definitely wasn't Hans. Abel paled noticeably and put the phone to his ear. "How could you be so insane!? What were you doing?"

"He...hello...Gabriel." Abel said quietly and moved his body away from Talen and Alice, lowering his head. "Ummmm...I'm..."

"I know where you are and who you are with and that doesn't change a single THING. You can't just go willy nilly everywhere and try to help everyone! Do you know who you are getting involved with?"

"Can I please just-"

"I will talk to you NOW. Things can wait! You could get yourself seriously hurt just throwing yourself at people and letting them use you so easi-"

"Please."

"No."

"I can't talk right now." Abel lowered his voice and narrowed his eyes at his knees. "Please...just-"

"Abel! Do you realize what-"

Abel closed the phone and put it on the table, watching it light instantly and start to ring. "Ummm...can you turn this off?" He asked Talen, handing him the silver and white phone.

((Hahahaha. Dun dun dun.))

((I'MMA GONNA CALL HIM GABBY. AND ME AND HIM WILL GET MARRIED.

AND HAVE ANGEL BABIES.

IT'LL BE GREAT. JUST WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED.))

Talen and Alice exchanged looks when Abel began his phone conversation. It was a very loud conversation, and rather one sided. After looking at each other several times they watched Abel, blinking in surprise.

"Uh... you..." Talen started to say something.

Alice put a hand on her shoulder and just shrugged at him.

When Abel shut the phone and handed it off to Talen he took it into his hands like one might an insect. "Well... I dunno, Abel... if it's like some voie of got... what'shisface?"

"Metatron?" Alice piped in. She was leaning on the table on her elbows looking curiously at Abel.

"Well... I guess since Abel didn't say that it's just another an-..." He looked around the restaurant. "GUY." He looked to the phone and turned it over in his palm so he could get at the battery. "I mean... if this Gabby guy really wants to talk to you..." He said as he pried open the compartment and tugged out the battery.

Just as he thought. It was still ringing.

Alice stared at it. "Holy..."

"Exactly." Talen said. "This guy seems persistent."

"What about putting it on silent?" Alice said and pulled it from Talen's hands. She fingered a button on the side and the flashing continued, but the ringing stopped. She smiled. "Ta dah."

((hahahaha, HOLY CELL PHONES, BATMAN.))
PostPosted: Fri Jan 02, 2009 8:49 pm

Abel shook his head and sighed heavily. "It's not." He replied to Talen's comment and laughed. "He's just a busy body is who he is." He muttered and put his chin against the palm of his hand as he watch Talen start to pull the battery out. When it was out, it kept ringing, and ringing, and ringing some more. Abel winced and was about to take the phone back when Alice took it and pushed a button.

The silence seemed like music to his ears. He knew Gabriel had only good intentions, but he sometimes just made the little things seem like the end of the world. If someone thought Abel was overdramatic...they hadn't met Gabriel. "Thanks, Alice." He said with a smile and took the phone from her. "Sorry about that. I wouldn't have answered it if I knew it was him. I just figured it was Hans." Speaking of his mentor, he wondered why Hans wasn't the one calling.

With a confused look, he slipped the phone back into his pocket and took a drink of water. "Sorry." He said again and rubbed at his head, smiling weakly at the two. "So..." He pursed his lips and glanced up when the waitress came back.

((Hahaha, I am terrible. I couldn't focus enough to post last night... :C... I NAMED MY BETA CLINT EASTWOOD.

He's a badass. HE COULD MESS YOU UP.))

Alice grinned. "No problem. If I hadn't have been here I don't think Talen ever would have figured it out." And she nudged her brother with her elbow.

Talen rolled his eyes half heartedly. "It's okay, huh? But maybe next time you should check the screen. Cell phones tend to have caller I.D."

Alice leaned forward on the table watching Abel intently. "What did you do to make him so upset?" She wanted to know, but then the waitress was there to take their orders.

They quickly made them and when she looked to Abel Alice repeated what she said for herself and shoo-ed her away. She glared after her a little.

"If I hadn't have made her leave sooner I swear she would have started t get handsy." She remarked in a somewhat amused voice.

Talen snorted into his drink.

((hahaahha XD OKAY))
PostPosted: Sat Jan 03, 2009 9:52 am

((Hahaha. Have you seen Gran Torino? I want to see it. :< ))

Abel laughed a bit and nodded. "I'll be sure to check next time. But usually..." He trailed off as the waitress got there and he smiled up to her, pushing himself back into the seat again, hoping Gabriel had stopped calling by now.

As the waitress left, he blinked at Alice and looked after the waitress. "Handsy?" He pondered as to what exactly Alice meant, but figured it wasn't too important and looked away. He pulled out the cell phone again and watched it. It still flashed. And for a strange reason he could feel an upset vibe leaking from it. Slipping it back into his pocket he looked back over to Alice and Talen.

With a soft sigh he laced his hands and placed them behind his head as he tilted it back, trying to figure out what Gabriel wanted without having to pick up the phone. Being in a restaurant was definitely not suitable for talking about whatever the other angel wanted to talk about. Unfortunately he knew Gabriel didn't care. The guy KNEW, he just didn't care. He knew probably about everything in the world, how everything worked, how things were going to work, but it didn't stop him from being both stubborn, hot headed, and uncaring about what people thought.

((I have an idea. Haha. I just want to wait till they leave...))

((Nooo... but my parents did :C They watched it without me D:< OKAY. GO.))

Shrugging Talen and Alice decided to leave him alone about it. Instead they turned the conversation more onto more what happened that day. Talen, of course, did his job of skirting around the whole ordeal and assured Alice he'd get Saul to come visit and have dinner with them once he was out of the hospital.

When their dinner arrived conversation pretty much stopped because when people are hungry, they don't take too much time out of their dinner to talk until they're finished. Talen finished his meal in a few bites, the unkosher combination of cheese and bacon vanished within minutes. Then he went about stealing fries from Alice's plate. She didn't seem to mind.

The waitress seemed awfully determined to make sure everyone's glass was full, Abel's especially. Alice exchanged a look with Talen and had a good laugh about that, each of them taking a turn to mimic her fawning voice.

Once they were all done Alice then paid the bill and mysteriously left no tip for the flirty waitress.

"Well, then!" She said, pushing away form the table. "That was all good, huh? We should probably get you home Talen so you can sleep AND GO TO SCHOOL TOMORROW."

"It's Saturday." Talen said happily.

Alice made a face at him. "You ready to go, Abel?"
