Marten popped up several feet away from that spot, fired as many times as he could, then dropped back down and rolled even further in the direction he had been going.

The gearbox fired another shot at him. Bits of counter fell on him as he ducked behind.

Michael jumped up while the gun was distracted, trying again to move behind the legs. He kept firing at the joints as he went, sending hail after hail of magical (apparently) lead at the thing.

The next gunshot at Marten's position flew upwards as a leg buckled again. The gun swiveled back to the again-running Michael.

Marten took the chance to stand up and beging firing at the gearbox. He aimed at nothing in particular, but he realized he should aim for the joints of the weapons.
So he did.

The gun twitched and fired in front of Michael, missing him and blasting a table and some chairs away through the window. It turned to him, extending a large hammer from its front alongside the gun. Two more buzzsaws emerged from the back.

Marten began to fire faster, aiming at the joints of the segmented legs. He advanced slowly, staying near cover.

The buzzsaws in the back covered the joints as the ones in the front did. They were now only really open at the sides.
