Firasi gave a curt nod. Wasn't the answer he wanted, but he could ask the GM later. That probably wouldn't go well though. He'd have to question others for this relatively small answer. The wound on his side had begun to close now that the potion was starting to take effect.

"Hm, poorly planned. Yes, it was." He was silent for a moment, his head down. To a few, it seemed that he was in deep thought, going over what had just been said, what he had said. Actually, that was not his purpose. An interface in his head sprung up, several players a couple clicks away. Left overs from the recent battle with Alexander. The interface closed. His face rose.

"I ask for protection. I may not be much battle use, but I do have some items that could be useful." He opened left side of his robe, revealing five blue potions, similar to the one he had just taken a drink from and a single thickened red one. He closed the clothing, and shook himself to adjust.

"Actually, Mr. Harp, I still doubt your honesty. Why, if you were truly a player and not a Reaper, would you seek to harm yourself? The rest of us were intelligent enough to join the party quietly and join in battle to the best of our ability. Was is your intention to break away from the norm? Or are you a Reaper desperate to play the "good guy" to gain trust?" Aansalath went to looking into Firasi's eyes. He didn't know the man, but he already didn't like this Reaper. The human obviously couldn't take a hint. And Aansalath had no intention of spelling it out for him.

"As for your usefulness, we have a healer, and we have a mage, both are very competent. I highly doubt if you went to them with me as your escort, that they will trust you more than I. And I do expect answers to my questions, make no doubt that I will know whether they are true or not." A blood-stained handkerchief came from his pocket, he wiped off the blood that he could, trying to get himself slightly clean. It didn't work, as most of it had dried already. Aansalath supressed a growl, he hated being dirty.

"If I was a Reaper, I think I would have little problem dealing with five stone golems... If I was a Reaper, my party would be alive! If I was a Reaper, I would not be having this conversation with you!" Frustration was beginning to build, but there was a little bit of light. The Vampire's words were giving a little in-depth of how well this group worked together. They were wary of each other, but open to accept members. They all probably believed strength came in numbers, but this one. He gave a couple spins for no reason. "It makes me wonder..." He began to slow down, "what your own motives are. What you plan on doing, being so secretive and withdrawn." He stopped suddenly, kicking up dust from the forest floor. His back was to Aansalath, but he looked over his shoulder, "Do you fear the Reapers of this game? Are you trying to avoid them?" He turned around fully. A smile crept up onto his face, "Anyways, I do plan on talking to your group. You may not be so open towards me, but maybe they'll be more merciful."

((Edit: I'm going to be sleeping soon. You can post still and I'll get to it in the morning.))

Aansalath kept his cool, kept calm. He almost smiled knowing the frustration he was giving this Reaper. "But is it also true that if you are a Reaper, you would not have a party in the first place. And if you are a Reaper, I highly doubt the situation would change. I've also seen so many actors, it wouldn't be hard for a Reaper to act weak to get his way. And I still have not gotten the answers to my questions, why seek to harm yourself?" He said this calmly and solemnly, slowly sounding frustrated, as if he was on a short fuse. He decided to act a little, he needed to loose his cool.

"And my motives are the same as the players, I woke up, not knowing where I was! I am simply looking for a way out of this place!" He furrowed his brow and made a panicked face. "Yes, I'm frightened of the Reapers. At this point, what player wouldn't be? Even you have to admit that someone tried to join the group with that story that someone may be a little suspicious!" A frustrated yell escaped him. He got closer to Firasi, so he could whisper my anger to him, "I have been betrayed by too many of my own kind. By too many actors who've had stories that I refused to see through. I've let too many flaws slip by, and by all that is holy I'm not going to let another slip by!"

He felt a strange wetness on his face, he knew that red-stained tears were going down his face. He let them be, knowing that it would add to the illusion. It was almost too bad that the girl was so near, he wanted to straighten this out quickly and quietly. But he would have to deal with acting for now. He kept with this, this was the second best he'd ever done, the first had more tears.

"Suppose I was a Reaper," Firasi stood where he was, his eyes narrowing, "don't you think I would've killed you already? A Reaper has no need for us, the Players, except for entertainment." Firasi watched red tears flow. He had seen this trick done before with other Players who had become Vampires. This man simply trying to "give" him the upper hand.
"I already told you why I hurt myself, to add credibility."

Time was wasting, and if hew knew better, Alexander was going to be mobilizing his forces soon. If Alexander would be mobilizing... would Marquis get involved too? There were too many forces trying to interfere with this, but on the otherhand... a little distraction would never hurt.

Firasi gave a short growl, his attitude changing slightly, "I understand your feelings of betrayal," this was a risk to take, an extremely bad one, "but you better be careful of the enemies you make." Firasi let a miniscule amount of power radiate out of him. It wasn't to prove much, but to appear that frustration released his power. It wasn't enough for a human to feel, but anyone else... "I may not be a Reaper, but I'll damned if I can't make an alliegance with one!" His fists clenched tightly before relaxing. All signs of hostility fading. "Your caution must be appreciated by your allies, but sometimes its better to be open-minded."

Aansalath let his betrayal marked face melt away into a small smile. He was beginning to respect this man's determination. With a quick move, a pen and a pad of paper were pulled out of a pant pocket. "Ah, just remembered something," he said quietly. He spoke even more quietly, so that he knew only Firasi would hear him. He didn't move his lips, though he was very clear. "'Tis an interesting game you play Reaper, and have no fear, if no one else, you can trust me to keep this secret. I will warn you, however, that if you try to betray me, I most certainly will betray you."

Aansalath wrote while he spoke, he made it look as if he were simply taking notes for him to remember something. "If any one asks Mr. Harp, neither of us trust each other completely. I must truly admit that I am beginning to respect your determination. On this page, are my name, what level the GM has given me, and what gate I am to guard. As well, my plan is written down, I expect for you to allow it to happen. I thought at first that this game that I have been playing would be crowded with two, but it may make it more interesting." With another quick move, the page was out of the pad and folded.

In a voice that Passion could hear, "Well, Mr. Harp, I am Lord Aansalath. And as it seems, I do not trust your story, nor your aligence. But it is a pleasure to meet your...aquaintance." He reached his hand out as if to offer a hand shake, with the paper inside his hand. The oldest trick in the book.

Provided that Firasi takes the note, when he opens it, he would find neat writing, the writing seemed perfectly centered on the tiny page.

Aansalath Deveraux
Level of 6, Gate 10.
Do not touch Lady Alora, I have plans for her.

((Sorika threatened to delete you, Firasi was being attacked by Golems, I saved him, then me and Firasi have been going at it since page 10 (page 11, X3 sorry) I think. Passion added herself to the group....and that's about it so far. I think.))

((Where are we exactly? I've been on Hiatus to a gaming convention... without internet.))

A flash of blue light, and the hideous creature known as Ixpath, a column of worms shaped into human form, appeared.

((Not much to say until i know what's happening.))

Claws appeared and looked around, he saw a group and suddenly wished he could hide. He made himself invisble just by thinking of hiding. He snuck up behind Aansalath and used a claw to cut open a pouch. He took an item out and left a note, I.O.U. man, thanks for the stuff!, he walked a ways away and waited until he felt the change in weight so he could see his reaction.

The man didn't get very far. Aansalath whipped around with way more than human speed. Though the man was invisible, this vampire had a sense of smell and hearing that let him know exactly where the man was. He grabbed the guy's neck, contemplating draining him right here and now. "I would suggest that you give me back my things, or I will take something of yours," he said calmly, not loosening his hold on the man's throat. His eyes gave the place where the invisi-boy's head would be a hungry stare before looking back down at his pants....his just-pressed-most-favorite-pair black slacks, and saw the cut in them. He glared, "You will be paying for that, make no mistake about that!" His voice became more of a growl at the end, no one made the mistake of ruining his clothing. No one made the mistake of stealing from a vampire either...so this man would be an exception.

Claws struggle for a moment then gave up, "Damn, you're good." he made himself visible, he was grinning. Claws opened his hand and held out the loot, "Here you are, Mr. FancyPants." he said. Claws threw in some coins, "That's for the pants. Now let go of me dammit!"

Aansalath was not amused, though he reluctantly let the boy go. "The next time you steal, child, make sure he is not more experienced than yourself." He accepted his second pen and handkerchief back, putting them in his left pocket now. There was no smile on the vampire's face, only annoyance.

Claws shrugged, "Whatever, you looked rich, I thought you'd have something other than a napkin and a pen but I guess not FancyPants. Name's... my name is... well just call me Claws." he grinned and looked at the rest of the group, "Eh, I suppose we should team up. I can't believe I just said that considering theives work either alone or in pairs, but there are some big bad beasties out here, so I say team." he offered. His claws looked menacing and dangerous as he waved them around, dangerously close to people's faces.
