RP Warning: May or may not be appropriate for all readers. Very suggestive, if not blunt. Read at your own risk.Event #8: Fallen in Hope! Neko gives in...and, gives out??[color=white] Neko quietly stepped into the bedroom, closing the door softly behind him and leaning against it a little bit, gold eyes cast down to the floor to prevent eye contact with the blonde haired man sitting on the bed. Something was wrong in his eyes, and already he'd blown up once at the human, going as far as throwing one of his own priced vases at the other and spending the afternoon trying to see if he could salvage the shattered pieces. It was a good thing Ares and Merrimack were gone, he'd told himself, and that Tahki spent most of her time in Neko's old room. If they'd actually seen his anger... The demon hanyou turned his eyes slowly to the white sheet that hung behind him, just barely touching the floor. It was hiding the door-mirror, hiding the reflection Neko had grown to hate during the course of the month. ...Approximately 42 days...about 996 hours, 24 minutes, 36 seconds... Obsessed? Very much so, and it was driving him mad. The two men spent all day yesterday taking down any mirrors they could find, putting up sheets on the ones actually attached to the doors and walls, and hid them in the basement. Neko even did his best not to look at the glass cabinet, the sliver knifes, even the water being used. He wanted to change, he wanted to return to normal. He just wanted his regular life back. Finally stepping away from the mirror, his tail flicking slightly behind him, he turned his golden gaze toward Domonic, still silent as he made his way to stand in front of the other. Domonic sat quietly on the bed, almost oblivious to the demon's entrance, his hands folded together and his eyes closed. His head was bowed, his forehead resting upon his entwined fingers, his lips softly whispering a faint plea; a prayer, if one may want to call it. Or at least, that's what it looked like. Were one to listen more carefully as Neko always did, they'd hear a different language of sorts, one lost from humanity for thousands of years. However, very few knew it, and it was still a mystery as to why he knew it himself. As Neko stopped in front of him, he whispered a quiet ‘amen', his blue eyes opening slowly. He'd been here alone for most of the afternoon, and silently wondered what time it was as he shifted a little bit, lifting his head to rest his chin on his fingers, calm eyes looking up into Neko's puzzled ones. It was almost amazing that he wasn't mad at the other for the earlier outburst, completely understanding why he was getting so frustrated. Neko's ears flicked slightly as he watched the human, furrowing his brows as he tried to understand. Domonic had been whispering this language a lot lately, and it had sounded so familiar to him, but still he didn't know why. While he knew many different tongues, this one sounded very close to the ancient demon language he used to know back when he was known as Mira. It wasn't the same, though...it was different. It was so different... He continued to look at Domonic for a moment after he looked up at him, his tail curling a little bit to the left. Why did he always have to look so innocent...? He knew the other was hiding something. He'd known for about half a month now, and STILL he wasn't talking. Why? What could Domonic possibly be hiding that couldn't be said aloud? He said things would be clear soon...he promised that. So why...? Why was this all still so confusing? Glancing off to the left for a moment, the demon hanyou sniffled a little bit as he thought, lifting a hand to stretch at his neck. Silence like this was always so awkward...and he'd come up here for a reason, as well. Sighing softly, Neko leaned down a bit, reaching his arms in-between Domonic's to rest his hands on the soft bed, using his forehead to force the man to lean back a little bit. "I'm sorry..." he muttered quietly, feeling guilty over the event from earlier. Domonic dropped his hands as he leaned back, propping himself up on his elbows. He knew the apology would come sooner or later, smiling slightly upon finally hearing it. Shifting his weight a little bit, he lifted a hand to gently stroke the demon's tan cheek, moving the red bangs away from his face so that he could see both eyes. "You know I don't want to keep this from you," he said softly, leaning up to brush a gentle kiss under Neko's scar over his right eye. "I wish I were able to just explain everything." "Then why don't you?" Neko whined, closing his eyes at the feel, a more sad expression crossing his face. He was tired of hearing that same line over and over again every time that he asked about it. Wrapping an arm around Domonic to hold him up where he was, he felt that he just needed to be close to the other man at the moment, some hidden fear of losing him showing a little bit. Being alone wasn't what he needed right now, and he realized that while trying to put the vase back together. Domonic sighed softly, lifting his other hand to place on Neko's cheek in order to hold his head still. So stubborn, he was...always asking why. And his answer was always the same. "If I told you, I might have to kill you," he half joked unknowingly, kissing the corner of the demon's lips lightly. Neko frowned slightly, opening his eyes as Domonic held his head. "I highly doubt you would, given that you don't even have the heart to kill a house fly," he stated flatly, unaware of the joke. "You can't say anything? You can't explain anything at all to me?" He looked away for a moment, needing to think about that question. Surely there was something he could tell the other to get his frustration to ease a little bit. After a moment, Domonic looked back to Neko thoughtfully before sliding his hands down from his cheeks to his under his arms, and heaved the demon hanyou onto the bed next to him, smiling innocently. "E-eh??" Neko blinked, blushing as he was tossed onto the bed. Quickly, he squirmed to turn around, hardly calming down as he watched Domonic. Domonic could hardly keep himself from chuckling a little bit, blushing slightly himself as he turned around to straddle the other man, crawling slowly over him to gently lay on top of him, lightly placing a finger over the demon's lips. "Shhhh..." he hushed him before leaning his head down and kissing him deeply, slipping his fingers through the red hair to hold his head, making sure he wouldn't struggle. "Mmmph!!" Neko gasped against the human's mouth, blushing furiously. W-w-why was he doing this?! Well, not that he could complain as he was certainly enjoying this himself, but...this just wasn't like the other to do anything like this. Normally, if anything happened, it was his doing, not the other way around. For a moment, he merely laid frozen in the other's grasp, but upon calming down, he slowly eased, bringing up his arms to wrap around Domonic gently. Kissing the other back, he closed his eyes, settling his spirits for now as his ears drew back and his tail thumped lightly on the bed. After a few moments, Domonic hesitantly broke the kiss after placing a shorter, sweeter one upon Neko's lips, looking down at the man a bit hopefully. "I'll tell you some of what I know...but only if you promise not to get frustrated over the things I can't explain very well," he tried to bargain, stroking Neko's cheek lightly. Blinking his eyes open, he smirked slightly as he realized the reason for all of that. "Mmm...you like to do that sorta thing on purpose, don't you?" Neko commented, loosening his arms a little bit. "Fine...I promise I won't get mad. I just get edgy when I don't know something..." "Understandable," Domonic smiled, carefully sitting up a bit and shifting his body so that he could sit on the demon's stomach, still straddling him. Sliding his hands along Neko's arms, he stopped when he reached the fingerless-gloved hands, entwining his pale fingers with the tan ones. "So tell me...what do you want to know?" "Who sent you?" Neko immediately asked. "Mm. Try again." Neko raised a brow at him, swinging his hands a little bit with Domonic's. "I thought you sa—" "I said SOME of what I know," he corrected. "I can't tell you the answer to that one, so please...choose a different question." "Hmph...fine. Why do you have an angelic relic?" Domonic frowned slightly, hoping he wouldn't start with that one. It was so difficult to explain. "It was my father's," he stated, and noting that Neko's mouth opened to ask another question, he immediately assumed what it would be. "And no, I don't know why he had it." Neko thought for a moment. "All right, then what do you know about it?" "Nothing more than what you know right now," he sighed, letting the demon's hands go and lowering himself enough to rest his hands behind Neko's shoulders so that he could look down at the other. "I've had it ever since I can remember, and neither of my parents would explain it to me." "I can accept that, then," Neko admitted, idly reaching up his hands to fiddle with the buttons on Domonic's shirt without completely realizing it. "After a month...you knew all along that eventually I would realize that I need to go back to your village to fix all of this, didn't you?" He bit his lip softly before nodding slowly, looking down as he noticed Neko unbuttoning his shirt. "Yes...to tell you the truth, I even knew that something would be happening," he said quietly, shivering slightly as he felt the cool air against his chest. "However, I didn't know when, or what it would be." Neko tugged on the shirt a little bit, pulling the man closer to himself. Damn the male hormones...he'd have to make sure to make Domonic suffer later when he finally returned to being a woman. "We'll talk more about that later," he sighed, blushing a little bit again. "Tell me...am I gonna have to meet your folks at all if I go?" Domonic blinked a few times, blushing a little himself. He was actually thinking about going finally? After all this time, desperately trying to find a way around visiting that town, he was giving up? "Well, no...unless you really wanted to for one reason or another, we could always wait until you turn back if you wanted," he replied, lying back down on top of Neko, still a bit puzzled. Neko sighed softly, closing his eyes after a moment. Damn...this trip wouldn't be pretty. After visiting that place 5 years ago, he swore never to go back, and now he didn't have much of a choice. "Fine," he said flatly leaning up to softly nibble on Domonic's bottom lip. "One condition." "What's that?" he whispered, closing his own eyes as his fingers lightly brushed against the demon's cheekbone. "You owe me big time," Neko stated before kissing his partner deeply. Yep...this was going to be a long night.

August 19, 2004[color=white] Domonic certainly has his ways of making me calm. Damn the male hormones! As soon as I turn back into a woman, I am soooooo gonna make him suffer. So, no details on yesterday. We'll just say we had a...talk...after I screamed at him. I even broke my own vase...that one that Tahki accidentally broke before. This time, it's not fixable, and I only have myself to blame for that. Ah well...can't do anything about that now, right? Anyway, when Ares gets back from her trip, I'll be heading out to visit Domonic's home town. I really don't want to go back there, especially after the little accusation fiasco five years ago...but I don't have much of a choice. They're master mages...most of the world's finest, in fact. They're the only ones I can go to for this transformation crap...especially after finding out that someone from there was the one that did this to me. Hoo boy...when I find out exactly who it was, they're going to pay. YOU HEAR ME?! On two random notes, there's a few things I did today. First of all, I went and visited my half sister. The b***h laughed her a** off at me all night because I was a man, but I got her back the next morning by dumping ice cold water on her and switching her fresh fish with rotten ones. Hey...I'm allowed to be a b***h, too. She's more of a cat than I am half the time, so...nya! Oh...and Miki grew up while I was gone. He's turning my brain into mush, I swear... ...Yes, Miki, we'll get ice cream after this, just like I promised. ...Yes, cookies too. ANYWAY! What else did I do? I managed to run across a very familiar name in the phone book. Well, maybe it wasn't exactly a phone book...because there wasn't a number by the address or anything. I'm not completely sure, but I think... GAH! It sounds a little hard to believe, but after about 10 years, I think I've managed to find a friend of mine that I used to be very close to. Rhiannon...true, it's not exactly too uncommon of a name, but there was just something... It's a little hard for me to believe, though, because I thought she died. She disappeared at least a year before I left the Haven for my journey, and I never found her. She wasn't even in the Shadow Realm when Zarien asked me to visit a friend with him. This is bothering me...perhaps I'll see about dropping by the address and investigating. ...Fine fine! I'm going to get ice cream, Miki...stop pe--EEEEEEE! I'mgoingI'mgoingI'mgoing!! On a piece of paper...[color=white] Tahki I'm tiiiiiiired! The pixapets take up a lot of time and they're really slowly getting bigger and stuff and now they're demanding more attention and EEEE! I'm coming to save you, Talon!! (The rest of the page just has a long squiggly mark dropping down to the bottom of the page.)

RP that occured August 20, 2004:[color=white] It had taken Arturo longer than he had expected, and truthfully, every part of him worried about Nero in his absence. But they had arrived at last, and as Arturo led Ares through the thick forests, dipping and ducking easily between branches, his mind wasn't back home. Because, in a way, that was never home. This was, and there was a weak sensation in his stomach. He hadn't ever wanted to come back here. It was too painful, but with Ares with him, it was surprisingly easy. He looked over his shoulder and shot her a rare smile before landing on a branch. It wasn't near the graveyard, but he might as well tell her about some parts of the forest that he knew. Arturo pointed to the trunk and smirked - it was covered in small cuts, made by a knife or blade of some kind. Running his fingers over the cuts, Arturo explained, "My first fencing partner." Ares sighed lightly, trying to take slow breathes as the seemed to stop for the moment, a bit tired from all the flying. Glancing to the tree for a moment, she lifted a hand to gently touch along some of the marks, as if entranced by the mere lines.
"Didn't put up much of a fight," she couldn't help but comment.Arturo laughed. It felt easier to be cheerful back in the place where he HAD been cheerful. More relaxed, somehow. "Well, better the tree than my friends," he replied, shaking his head. Though he and his friends had often sparred, they waited until they could at least hold the swords he made right before they even attempted as much. "Actually..." Arturo trailed off, realizing he was thinking aloud. Without a word, he dove from the branch and disappeared from sight. There was the sound of leaves rustling at the base of the tree, and soon Arturo was back in a flash of metal and red, a real rapier held in his hands. "I made this a while ago," he explained, offering it to her. "Back when I had more magic." Ares blinked a few times, glancing at the rapier. That was...real? She reached out a delicate hand to touch it, rather intrigued that it was something their size.
"You made this...?" she whispered, drawing her hand back. Wait... "You had more magic?"
Was it possible to lose skill one had?Arturo was staring affectionately at his old sword. It was fairly ornate, for an amateur's work - it was one of his first. The hilt swirled and twisted delicately, and the weapon itself had fairly good balance, though the hilt itself felt a bit too heavy in his hands. He had done better work. Ares' words pierced his reverie and he glanced at her, nodding. "I did. Much more, in fact, though swords like these aren't too difficult for metal Feien. I believe I lost most of it in the bonding process, however, just like I gained a mutation while it was occuring." The miniwings still felt vaguely alien on his head, though he had grown fairly accustomed to them. Ares looked up to the miniwings for a moment, reeeaaaching her hands up to touch them lightly.
"But they're just so darn cute," she joked lightly, smiling a little bit before bringing her arms back down. "I had no idea magic could be lost when being bonded to another. But...I suppose such magic isn't needed where you live now, am I right?"
She didn't want to bring him down, but she was trying to make sense of it for herself. Her tail flicked a little bit as she looked back to the sword.
"Why didn't you bring it with you?"Arturo's wings flicked slightly under her hands, feathers soft under her fingers. He shrugged slightly, though there was the faintest traces of a smile on his lips. "Human bonds provide well for their Feien. I prefer to take care of myself, but admittedly, it does make magic used for practical purposes a bit obselete. It wasn't a huge loss. There are times where I wish I could use it to ease a situation, but nothing horribly severe." Why didn't he bring that particular sword with him? He'd done better, for one. Actually, now that he thought about it, the worksmanship on that was fairly shoddy. Ah, well. His better swords were buried elsewhere. But that wasn't her question. "I was dying Ares - I had little strength as is, and it's a long flight, and I was carrying my book. I couldn't afford the extra weight, and I figured I would just make more once I was settled. I didn't expect to lose my magic." he explained. "Oh...so you could carry a book, but not a sword?" she smirked. "But you're right...had you kept your magic, you could have made something like this again."
Ares folded her wings down over her shoulders for a moment, looking around the surroundings again. No matter how many times she looked, she just couldn't get over how beautiful the forest was, it being must different than the one she visited back home.
"It really is quite nice here," she sighed, smiling a little bit. "But, I've probably said that serveral times already.""It was an important book to me; irreplacable, even. It was heavier than the swords, but I could just as easily make one again, had I the magic." Arturo went quiet and stared around, smiling a bit. "It is. I enjoyed living here. It's more peaceful than back at the labs." Infinitely so. Arturo gently took Ares' hand in his and smiled. "I want to show you something." he muttered, then took off, moving just as quickly as before. He zig-zagged through the tress, occasionally noting a familiar landmark to show that he was heading in the right direction, then settled lightly on a branch. Soon as Ares was there with him, he pushed away a few leaves and stepped on to the end of the branch. Directly below them was a small, clear stream. Arturo sat down carefully, crosslegged, and leaned forward to stare down. His hair slid over his shoulders and caught the colors of setting sun reflecting off the stream. "That's where the water feien used to play," he explained, glancing back at Ares. "I was never partial to water myself, but I always thought it was lovely here. When it wasn't so busy, I came here to think often." Ares had quickly opened her wings again as they flew off, flapping her wings a little bit before they landed. Using her wings for balance, she peered down toward the stream curiously, her three red eyes filled with a bit of wonder. Water feien... It made her curious if the ones bonded to humans did the same thing. For her, the sound alone was quiet relaxing, carefully sitting down next to the taller feien.
"It's beautiful, Arturo," she said calmly, her tail curling around herself a little bit. "I love to just look at the water...it makes rather wonderful music."A warm arm was soon wrapped around her waist. "It does." Arturo replied sedately. "This was where I made my rapiers, too. Inspired by the flow of the water, maybe. Either way, it was peaceful enough so that I could concentrate." A bird flew by overhead and Arturo kept his eyes on it, watchfully. More than one of his friends had been seized by predatory birds, but this one presented no danger, and so Arturo relaxed, leaning against Ares slgihtly. "I sometimes wish we could move back here." Ares gently rested her head against Arturo's shoulder, moving a hand to lightly rest over his around her waist. Move back here...? Alone, or with his bond? Surely that would be rather difficult, but not labeled as impossible.
"Have you ever asked about the possibility?" she asked curiously, turning her three eyes up to him.Arturo smiled at Ares, shaking his head. "No. I'd rather not have a human and all her 'pets' running amok in my forests, and I'm sure the triplets wouldn't be pleased to be taken away from the shop. I know Nero would." He trailed off for a moment, yellow eyes distant as his mind ventured elsewhere. "If I die, I'd like my gem to be put here, though." Arturo said finally. The prospect was terrifying, but unavoidable, he supposed. He'd already cheated death once - it was only a matter of time. Ares frowned slightly upon hearing that last comment, her wings folding down again to rest on her shoulders. Death... It was one part of life she didn't particularly like very much. First Seamus, and now...
She shook her head lightly, closing her eyes for a moment. The one thing she feared most about choosing Arturo over the other was that he would leave too soon. Thinking about that right now would only turn this trip from good to bad. Reaching her arms over, she hugged the metal feien lightly, opening her eyes slowly.
"I would stand by your grave until the day I die myself if you leave before me," she whispered softly.Arturo chuckled and looped his arms tightly around Ares, kissing her affectionately. "I don't intend to die any time soon," he muttered, nuzzling against her slightly. "It would foolish to, with so much to live for." Ares was warm in his arms and the stream was cheerful beneath them, muttering nonsense as it flowed over rocks and pebbles. Everything just felt... right. As it should be. All worries, all cares, sort of just melted away as Arturo carefully leaned his forehead against Ares', wary of her third eye. "We should vacation more often," Arturo chuckled, twirling one of Ares' longer pieces of hair around a finger. Ares closed her third eye and looked up at him, a faint smile upon her lips. She always like being this close to him...a rare feeling that she only allowed very few people to see.
"Hmmm...that might be nice," she said softly, her tail thumping softly on the branch once. "Though I don't know how many times I'd be able to manage getting all the way over here...so closer to home might be nice sometimes too, hm?"Arturo smirked. "Maybe we should take the triplets one time, too. No reason for them not to be as well-travelled as we are." He was getting sleepy, and it was quickly turning dark, the first faint glimmers of stars appearing on the blackening horizon. "This place will be just for us, though," he muttered, bending his head down to kiss her again. "Mmm," Ares hummed against his lips as she kissed him softly. "I think I like that plan.""Let's finish tomorrow," he said, smirking as he leaned back, Ares resting somewhat on top of him. "It's peaceful here, and safe. A good place to sleep." Ares smiled a little bit, nuzzling against him, her tail curling over his leg a little bit. It was getting pretty late...and so much had gone on through the day, it was slowly catching up to her.
"Then we'll sleep here," she agreed, resting her head lightly on his shoulder.Large red wings folded over her, feathers tickling slightly but providing warmth as the night slowly grew colder. Arturo gave Ares one final kiss before resting his head back and closing his eyes. It was just like before everything had changed. Only... better.

RP that occured August 21, 2004:[color=white] Yeande flew as fast as she could manage, large wings pushing her through the air as well as her magic being pushed to its limits to get her to Talon's faster. She would have headed for the door... normally, she would have. However, she saw the open window and darted for that instead, not caring wh at room in the house she came into. "TALONFAUST!" she yelled at the top of her lungs, not noticing the other Feien on the bookshelf nearby.Merrimack quickly brought his hands to his ears, startled by the sudden burst of sound. For Christ's sakes, what the hell was that?! Turning from the book he'd been looking at, he noticed the dark feien glancing about. But...Talon wasn't he--oh, right. The others wouldn't have known that. Sighing lightly, he dropped his hands back down to his sides, warily looking to Yeande.
"He's not here," he called out from the shelf."Damnit," she sighed, looking up towards the voice. "Do you know when he'll be back, Nero's hurt and needs a heal..... er...." Yeande stopped, staring UP at the other Feien. Way up. "Merrimack?!"The tall feien blinked a few times, not understanding the shock at first. That's right...no one knew he'd grown up, either. He rubbed the back of his neck a bit nervously, wondering if that was a good or bad thing.
"Er, yes..." he muttered softly. "...What about my brother? Did something happen?""Something, yes," she replied, flying up to the shelf that Merri was standing on and landing in front of him. "As for what, I'm still not sure. It looks as though his jaw was damaged badly. He can't speak, and it's swollen and bruised almost as black as my markings." The boy had changed, that much was certain. But what was he doing HERE? Ares' house wasn't anywhere nearby.Merrimack's three eyes grew a little wide as he listened. Nero was...hurt?? How? WHY?!
"T-take me to him!" he stammered, his red wings drawing up to take flight. "Please...take me to see him...I might be able to help."Nodding, Yeande leapt off of the shelf, winging her way to the window. "Follow me!" With that, she disappeared through it, pausing to make sure he was following before starting back towards her home.Merrimack quickly took flight, hoping he'd be able to last the flight. He had to...he wasn't going to give up easily, as Nero might need him. Flitting to the window, he would do his best to follow. The sound of leathered wings could be heard from the balcony as Yeande landed, turning to look up into the sky for Merrimack. "Down here!" she called, just in case, and moved aside for him.Shalafi looked up immediately, his hand tightening on Nero's arm. "They're here!" he said, torn between going to the door and staying beside his friend. He chose Nero, curling up a bit more. Merrimack took a few deep breaths, lagging quite a bit behind. Damn it, it wasn't that far...why the hell did he always have to get so tired? His ears twitched a little bit as he heard Yeande, glancing down and spotting the familiar balcony. Floating down, he stumbled a little bit as he landed from being tired, his wings immediately dropping down as he leaned down to rest his hands on his knees. Taking a few more deep breaths, he glanced warily inside. "In there?" he breathed, trying to calm himself. "Yes," Yeande said, reaching to push the door open a bit more and reach for Merri's hand. "It's okay. It's just Nero, Shalafi and one of their friends." She had NO idea how wrong she was in that statement, but it was the only way she could think of to describe the other Feien. Once inside, Nero was laying on the carpet about two feet from the door, wrapped in a fleece square blanket with Shalafi kneeling beside him. Twitch twitch went an ear. Here? Mmn? How long had it been? Calico crept open his eyes then with a great yawn pushed himself upright, slinging his legs over to perch on the edge of the nearby chair he had chosen to roost upon. With half-asleep eyes he watched the scene expectingly for what 'here' meant. He must have fallen asleep, he noted. Merrimack twitched slightly as Yeande grabbed his hand and led him inside. She was t-touching hi-- No, Merri, come off it, he scolded himself. Nero's more important right now. He blinked once upon hearing who was there. Shalafi and a friend...? Who could that be? No matter...upon seeing his brother, his heart merely sank as he tried to register the appearance. Damn it...this was much worse than he himself had been. Kneeling down next to the injured feien, he called out softly. "Nero?" He knew he couldn't talk...he just wanted him to know he was there. Nero's eyes widened at Merri. H - he was huge! When did this happen? Oh, even more things to add to the confusion, but Merri must've been an adult, and that made Nero happy. Maybe he'd be braver and more confident, with all this new height. The memory feien tried his best to crack a smile at is brother, but it turned into a grimace of pain soon enough. Still, Nero was glad to see him, even in this state. And hopefully, Merri could make him better. Though if Calico DARED to come near Merri, Nero would get up and protect him, even in his pathetic condition. Shalafi moved aside, one brow lifted as he heard the strange voice. It was familiar... somehow... but it wasn't either. He frowned, not sure what to do, so he held onto Nero's hand. "Who're you?" he asked softly, not sure if he would get an answer or not. He didn't quite know how to react with someone he didn't know this close to him. Hmm. Funny blurs. Calico drowsily rubbed his eyes and studied the scene again. Okay less blurry but obviously he was still asleep and dreaming cause that was the funniest looking feien. So he rubbed once more and gave a good squint at the others. Nero couldn't talk. Shalafi couldn't see. But him? He could do both, and dammit he was gonna do it too. "... UWAH!" He pointed in shock when it registered and lost all hope of playing the cool and silent card in his surprise. "Whut the 'ell?!" That was absolutely impossible, he MUST be still asleep. Merrimack carefully reached a hand down to very gently examine the injury in question. Gods, it was so hard to tell much of anything at the moment...what exactly needed to be done, again? "Shalafi, it's me..." he said softly, still trying to figure out what happened. "I'm Merri." He was about to ask something when he heard the all too familiar voice, his three eyes growing wide. Damn it...that "friend" was HIM?! Ignore it, Merri...think about that later. "S-Shalafi, what happened to Nero?" he managed to ask, trying to ignore the red and yellow feien's presense. It'll be fine...it'll be FINE. Shalafi was startled, to say the least. This voice... from that HEIGHT... was Merri? "I..." he began, swallowing hard. Gods, of all the people Yeande had to bring back, this was the one least likely to listen. "I don't know all of it," he said, sticking to the truth. "I think he was trying to provoke Calico to prove that he couldn't change... he was trying to look out for me, I know." Chewing on his lower lip, he turned back towards Nero. "But this wasn't the way to do it." No, seriously. What the hell? Calico opened his mouth, closed it, opened again... then scoffed in annoyance. It was stupid enough she brought that kid who couldn't even help himself let alone others, but why the hell did he look like that? He twitched in the urge to demand but he was too tired and it utterly wasn't worth it. He was surrounded by freaks, end of story. So he swallowed back whatever he was going to yell next and watched with the most intent eyes. Merrimack, the healer eh? Man he was just creepy to look at. Ugh. Merrimack narrowed his eyes a little bit. Provoking Calico...? What possessed him to do something so stupid? Which was surprising, given that Nero was always the friendliest, and wisest of the siblings. Even if it was to try and help Shalafi...the only person who could help him anymore was the white feien himself. "Nero, is this true?" he demanded. Desperate times called for equally desperate measures, and Nero was desperate to get Shalafi out of Calico's clutches. Did Nero know what he did was stupid? Of course. Had he weighed his options? Yes. Did he expect Calico to go as far as he did? No. Unfortunately, Nero could say none of these things, make no excuses, until he was in better condition. So instead he pointedly looked away from Merri, somewhat ashamed. He was permitted his lapses in judgement, wasn't he? And he thought... he thought he was doing the right thing, for Shalafi. Though, in hindsight, it had done nothing but hurt him. 20/20, he supposed. Shalafi was fidgeting by th is point and moved back to curl up and sit. "He had good intentions, Merri," he whispered, shaking his head softly. "Just a bad way of going about it." Merrimack sighed softly, closing his eyes for a moment. What a situation this was...but he couldn't just let it go and leave him like this, even if a part of him felt he deserved it. This was his brother...he had to help. Reaching his hand down again, he inspected Nero's jaw once more. Damn...he was hit pretty hard, it seemed. "I can't fix it completely," he admitted, frowning a bit. "However, I think I can...kind of fix it..." Nodding, Shalafi stayed where he was, arms wrapped around his legs. "I'm glad someone can," he said, shivering. "I wish I could heal, but I can't. We were going to try and find your father, but Yeande went for you instead." Yeande moved to fly up to the chair Calico was sitting on, perching beside him and folding her wings behind her back. "Arturo's good at some things. Bedside manner isn't one of them." Merrimack decided to ignore the comment about his father, given that there was so much that he could say about that. Instead, he carefully placed his large hands around Nero's face, easily able to cover the jaw and cheeks, closing his eyes to concentrate. He'd done this once before, healing Tahki's arm just enough...maybe he could really do it again. A faint white glow began to form around his hands as he tried to imagine the broken bone, imagining it being healed. It could work...it had to work. But, that was quite a break, as well... Nero winced. This whole healing process wasn't exactly the most comfortable thing, and as his bone slowly formed back together, the feien began to whimper. Finally, the bone had healed somewhat, and Nero's jaw was no longer bent at the painful angle. Merri's hands on his cheek still touched the sore spot, and he kept wincing, though he managed a weak smile and a nod of thanks. He wondered if he'd be able to talk now. Explain his reasons, or lack thereof. ... Maybe he was better off unable to talk. Merrimack blinked his eyes open, the soft glow around his hands fading as he removed them from Nero's cheeks. Of course, the small feien would be the only one to know if it actually worked or not, but he nonetheless felt incredibly drained. "How's that?" he asked a bit weakly. "It's fine, thank you," Nero croaked, cringing. While he was able to speak, it was oubviously not exactly a pleasant process. He rubbed the tender section of skin over the newly healed bone and stared at Shalafi silently. This was awkward. Nero wobbled to his feet, adjusting his wings fore balance, and stared at the floor. "I should probably go." he muttered. Shalafi looked up when Merri spoke, then seemed to sag in relief when Nero answered. He'd never been so frightened, and now it seemed that everything would be alright. "No, you need to at least rest a bit," he said, clearing his throat softly. He still felt responsible for this, even though part of him was trying vainly to convince him that he didn't control Nero's actions. Calico had been uncomfortable ever since Yeande thought it was a good idea to join his perching place. He had dedicated some of the time to casually scooting to the further corner up until Nero finally spoke. It was a sound he could pick from the rest so easily regardless of its state and it shot his eyes across the room. While he strived to stay out of the situation, God knows he wanted to go right for that feien's throat, he couldn't help but begin to buzz those wings as he stared, like a worked up wasp. Yeande slid her gaze to the side, reaching one hand and holding up a finger. It was the only physical motion she made as she whispered too faintly for the others to hear. "Rein in that temper of yours for a little while longer." Nero wings were twitching to go. He didn't need rest - at least, not here. Not with Shalafi looking hurt and angry, and Calico throwing glares across the room that he no doubt wished could kill, and Merri all different and looking disappointed. He couldn't deal with it. "I'm okay," Nero whispered, unable to muster more volume than that. "Thank you for helping. You look wonderful, Merri." Insert weak smile. "I'm sorry to have caused so much trouble." Nero hopped into the air, nearly tumbling back down before neatly catching himself. He cast a strange look in Calico's direction, then quietly flapped out of the room. "Nero, WAIT!" Shalafi started up and chased after the sound of Nero's wings, only to catch his foot along Merri's bent leg where the taller Feien was kneeling. The reaction was instant, the feathered wings flaring out in an attempt to stop himself, but it didn't work for a fall like this. Landing hard on the carpet, he whimpered, taking a moment before pushing himself back up to sit. "This is my fault," he said softly, turning towards Merri. "You got hurt because of me, now HE got hurt because he was trying to help me." Merrimack frowned slightly, not even making an effort to move when Nero flew off, much less when Shalafi tripped over him. He furrowed his brow as he thought, his ears seeming to droop a little bit as he listened. Shalafi was blaming himself...? Even if it did seem that he should, Merrimack still had something he needed to say. "Shalafi, I need to talk to you for a moment," he sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "If that's all right." Nodding softly, the blind Feien got to his feet, brushing himself off and rearranging his wings against his back. "Alright," he answered, not certain what else he could do at the moment. Nero was gone. Hard to take in stride right there and Calico hardly took heed of Yeande's advice. Ugh that was annoying, ANNOYING. Little b*****d gonna flutter off home and start messing s**t up again? It didn't help that it seemed, though he caught only fractions of the conversation over the drone of his own spasmically flickering wings, that Merrimack was going to chat with Shalafi. Great, fantastic, what stupid garbage did that sibling have to say now? Of course he figured he was going to talk of something troublesome and against better judgement he shoved himself to his feet, unable to keep at a distance much longer. Yeande kept her gaze on Calico then and cleared her throat faintly. "You and I need to talk as well, little one," she said softly. "And if you try to take off on me, I'll stop your wings whiel you're in mid-air." Merrimack slowly got to his feet, hardly able to take the drone of Calico's wings much longer. That noise still drove him insane, even after meeting Banana Tango... "It would probably be best we go outside..." he muttered quietly, stepping toward the door. Shalafi started forward as well, folding his wings behind him like a cloak as he padded towards the door. "I'll be right back," he said, a bit more loudly... although it was uncertain whether he was directing it towards Yeande or not. Once outside, he moved to the nearest plant pot and turned towards Merri expectantly. Merrimack rubbed at his ears a little bit, as if trying to get the droning to stop. Ugh...this was going to be a hard night. Perhaps a little reading was in order before he slept later. Sighing lightly as he got outside, he followed Shalafi over to the plant before looking down at him, and deciding that that wasn't right. So, he knelt down on the balcony to get rid of at least some of the major height difference.
"Ah...um..." he started out, trying to figure out exactly how to say what he wanted to say. "I know this may not sound too hard for you, but trust me...for me, it's hard to just say. I...wanted to apologize."Shalafi winced as Merri began to speak, then looked towards the taller Feien in shock at the apology. "B-but... " he began, shaking his head quickly. "Why are YOU apologizing?! I should be the one apologizing to you.. I told you I wouldn't let him hurt you and I failed. I tried to follow you that night, but I got lost, and I couldn't tell you that I was sorry." He turned away slightly then, one hand resting on the edge of the flowerpot as he shook faintly. He refused to cry. Hell, he barely knew anyone anymore, it seemed, and he wouldn't let anyone see him like that. "It was my fault you got hurt. It was my fault Nero got hurt... last time AND this time. I wouldn't blame you if you hated me... Nero probably does now." Merrimack frowned slightly, looking off to the side for a moment. He could leave it at that...he could just forget about saying anything and leave. But...that would defeat the purpose of what he'd decided, wouldn't it?
"No, Shalafi," he said quietly. "It's not your fault I was hurt. In all my frustration, I blamed the ones that shouldn't have been blamed at all. I, I realized that...they would probably have helped me had they been there. You didn't send Calico after me...you couldn't have known. As for Nero, I don't think either of those times were your fault, especially this last one. He made a poor decision, Shalafi. You didn't force him to fight."Shalafi moved to slide down the side of the pot, slumping to sit on the balcony floor. "If it wasn't for me, Nero wouldn't have gotten hurt... if it wasn't for me, Calico wouldn't have gotten hold of you to 'remind' me." His shoulders slouched forward as his wings wrapped around himself. "Nero wanted me to come and hide at his home. He said that your father would help protect me. I told him that I was staying with Calico because I didn't want anyone else getting hurt. And that so long as Calico kept his promise, I'd stay with him. He did this so that I would give up on Calico, Merri..." He looked up then, miserably as the sightless eyes flickered back and forth slightly. "I didn't force him... but I may as well have." Merrimack watched him for a moment, his wings drooping down as he leaned back into an actual sit. And he thought that he was bad...but then again, if anything had happened to someone he was close to, he would probably feel the exact same way. Hesitating for a moment, he slowly brought up a hand to gently rest on Shalafi's shoulder.
"Nero made his own decision. Nero made the choice to fight Calico, and it was HIS mistake," he sighed. "He thought he was being right in doing what he did, but he was wrong. Shalafi, the only one who knows what's best for you is yourself. If you think being with Calico will help, then...I can't exactly hold that against you, now can I?"
He flinched a little bit as he said that, but it was true. He couldn't hate Shalafi for being friends with Calico...especially when it was willfully. Though, of course, he'd still hate the dark-skinned b*****d.
"If anything, it's my fault for letting you think that all of this was your fault."He twitched slightly at the touch, but one small hand came to cover Merri's lightly as he glanced to the sound of his voice. "I'm sorry you got hurt. If I could have stopped it, I would have. But Calico's been so NICE lately... he seems to be calming down. I just hope this didn't make things worse, I thought I was making progress." Sighing, he squeezed Merri's hand then pulled back again, knowing that the other didn't like contact much. "You were so nice to me, and I wanted to help however I could. I think it's been good and bad, really... but it's getting better." "Well, if you feel being with him is for the better, then don't let what anyone else says get to you," he said, being the only thing he could offer. "Who knows...perhaps with you being with him, you might very well be protecting the others. But do it because YOU want you, ya know? Not because you feel you have to."That made the boy pause, his body curling slightly where he sat and his wings forming an almost triangular 'teepee' around him with his body in the middle but still visible. "I want to," he whispered, almost as if he was just realising it himself. "I want to stay with him. It was just the promise before, but now after this... he needs me. Even if he doesn't know it." Merrimack almost didn't want to say what he did next. "Then stay with him. Stay with him and be...happy."That made Shalafi smile for the first time that night, and he nodded softly. "I will," he replied, feeling better about his decision now that someone actually seemed to understand. "Thank you." Merrimack stood up then, lifting his red wings to prepare himself for flight.
"I...I should get going," he sighed. "Miss Kitsune and Globin didn't exactly know I had left."Nodding, Shalafi moved to stand up and see him off, standing near the flowerpot still. He was edgey still... not certain how to react to the fact that his friend was now three times his size. "Thank you for coming to help Nero." "...Shalafi? Don't let my brother get to you too much. He has a good heart...but sometimes it's in the wrong place."
He lifted himself into the air then, and began to make the trip back to Karma's.Strange advice, perhaps... but Shalafi was learning that sometimes the best intentions could go wrong. He suddenly didn't feel like being back int he stuffy house just yet, and slid down to sit on the balcony once more, wings steepled over himself as they folded.

(OOC Note: The following entry was written by Merrimack while at Talon's, so therefore is technically not with Neko at this particular time.) August 21, 2004[color=white] Merrimack Today...oh boy. Today was draining, so I won't be writing long...it's hard enough for me to move this broken lead enough to make something legible. I found out that Talon isn't even here...I went into the guest room to finally speak with him, and the brat wasn't THERE. Fine...I'll talk to him later, then. Yeande showed up looking for him, and then informed me that something had happened to Nero.
Good God, my brother...I can't believe he'd do something like this. And here I thought that I was the one not being smart... He went off, provoked Calico to fight him, all to prove a point to Shalafi. Wonderful. Just ******** great. So Nero was hurt pretty bad...his jaw was very broken, and I could only fix it so much. While I believe it's still broken, I think I managed to fix the bone itself... Calico was there as well. I ignored him...it was all I could do.
I spoke with Shalafi after Nero left. I...apologized for blaming him for what happened to me. Shalafi didn't send Calico after me...so he didn't need to be blamed for it. And if he wanted to be with that b*****d, then...fine. Let it be, because there isn't anything that anyone can say about it. Shalafi knows what's best for himself...so that's all there is to it. Just as...I'm the only one who knows what's best for me.

Event #9: What a Nightmare! Neko's haunted past.[color=white] Neko tossed and turned in his sleep, eyes flinching as he slept on. He whimpered softly like a scared child, curling up a little bit on his side, drawing his arms and legs close to his chest. Something was wrong...something was terribly wrong. "Come back here, you fool!" an elderly man called out. "Stay away from that house!"
"No, old man. I'm ending this stupidity once and for all!" the young man said, turning his cold gray eyes toward the elder. "If she hadn't brought that thing to this village, we'd all be FINE! But instead, the b***h has doomed us all!"
"Janna, stop!"
A young woman was huddled in the corner of her hut, tears streaking down her pale cheeks as she held tightly onto the smallish child before her. Blood slowly trickled down her forehead as her frail form shook with sobs, utter fear stricken in her brown eyes. The child she held was gently petting the woman's long brown hair, trying hard not to cry herself.
"Mama, maybe I shouldn't be here..." the little girl said softly, looking no more than maybe 12. Green eyes looked up at her mother, unwavering even as her crimson bangs draped over her eyes. Pale golden marks shimmered slightly as she suppressed her anger further, her tanned skin dirty from being kicked around. The unusual cat ears on her head were drawn back, her tail curled tightly around her waist to prevent it from lashing about and knocking anything over. "Maybe I should have left a long time ago..."
"No...no!" the woman cried, holding the child closer. "You're mine, Mira. I don't care what you are! You're my baby...you're my precious baby..."
Janna burst through the door, nearly breaking the wooden panel of its hinges. His heavy boots thumped loudly against the wooden floor, hounding his way toward the two in the corner.
"I'm sick and tired if this curse!" he yelled out, thrusting a chair out of his way against the table, rage written across his face. "And it's all because you had to bring that...that...HELLION into this place!!"
"She is NOT from hell, damn it!" the woman cried through her sobs and tears. "Mira is just like a normal girl! She's never done anything wrong...she's been kind and gentle, unli--"
"Because of her, four of our NORMAL children DIED!" he argued madly, swinging an arm harshly toward the child. Mira was quite easily knocked away, the back of her head smacking hard against the leg of a chair as she cried out. Picking up the woman, he slammed her against the wall, holding her by the neck. "Because of her, Nova, my son is DEAD!"
Nova clawed at the man's hands, choking under his hold due to his strength. "J-Janna, p-please! Stop it!" she pleaded, her eyes growing wider. "Stop this madness!"
"JANNA!" the elder cried as he entered the hut. "Put my daughter down this instant!"
"MAMA!!" Mira screamed, scrambling to her feet. She lunged at Janna, only to be caught by the arm by the elder.
"Child, please! I don't need two deaths on my hands..." His weak grasp, however, wasn't nearly enough to keep Mira from going after the man again. Latching her arms tightly around one of his, she hung there for a moment before bringing herself up and biting hard on the flesh of his forearm.
Janna shrieked a cry of pain, immediately releasing Nova to drop onto the floor, the woman gasping for air. He winced as he glared at the child, holding his arm up so that she'd be off of the ground. Turning quickly, he slammed the girl into the shelf behind him, ignoring the glass cups and porcelain dishes that fell to the ground and shattered. This only caused Mira to bite harder, flinching at the copper taste that filled her mouth, crimson liquid dripping down off of her chin. He wouldn't get away with this...he wouldn't get away with hurting her mother.
"You little b***h...let go!!" the man screamed at her.
The elder had made his was over to Nova, picking up his sobbing daughter carefully. If there was anything he could possibly do, he'd do it in a snap. However, Janna was known for being the strongest hunter in the village, and was also well known for his terrible anger. It was a cold day in hell when Janna didn't listen to himself or Nova, and this just seemed to be one of those days.
"Janna, stop this nonsense. It wasn't her fault that those kids drowned..." he tried to calm the other, leaning his walking stick against the wall carefully. "If you remember correctly, she had tried to sa--"
"She MURDERED them, old man!" Janna growled, his free hand fumbling against his side for a moment. "You and I both know it!"
"She's an innocent child. I've watched Mira myself...she's never even hurt a fly, and Linny was one of her only friends, as was Drakkon. Surely the death of your son was a horribly tragedy, but you don't need to go on this silly rampage."
"Maybe I'm the only sane one, then," he muttered quietly to himself as he pulled out his knife from its sheath. "I'm not stupid...I'm not fooled by this act!"
Mira had just about enough of his ramblings, tears stinging her eyes. Linny and Drakkon had been murdered, yes...but it was by the water demon that had resided in the lake. Those kids...her friends... She'd done everything she could to protect them, but it wasn't enough. No one knew...no one knew!
With one swift, hard kick upwards, the child's heel came in contact with the man's rough chin, causing his head to snap upwards and back, relieving pressure from her body against the shelf. Letting go of his arm, she dashed off to hide behind Nova and the elderly man, clinging to the woman's leg.
"I tried to help them!" she protested angrily. "If I could have prevented it, I would never have like Drakky and Linny die! Never ever ever!"
Nova dropped down to hold the child protectively, knowing full well it would be useless to run; the hunters were fast, and she was too weak to run fast enough. "Janna, I won't let you harm her! You'd have to kill us both!"
"That can EASILY be arranged!" he cried, lashing the long blade to the left before driving it forward.
"Janna, that's enough!" the elder screamed, rushing a hand forward, hoping to stop the knife in time.
The attack took a mere few seconds, the world just seeming to freeze with the result. Mira watched in horror with wide green eyes as the blade had drawn close, clenching her fists and closing her eyes tight, waiting for the impact. However, it never came... Slowly, she pried her eyes open, wondering why it stopped.
There was Janna, a mad look in his gray eyes as his short black hair clung to the sweat on his brow, his eyes twitching slightly. His hand still firmly grasped the knife, the elderly man dropping down to his knees, his arm shaking with shock and pain. Nova was stiff and frozen, brown eyes wide and dried from crying all of her tears. Looking again, Mira's eyes narrowed, tears spilling from her eyes as she finally saw what had happened. There was the elder's hand, the hilt of the blade pressed right against it. Through the palm was the rest of the weapon, embedded in the woman's chest, a deep red color forming on her blue dress around the wound. Nova coughed lightly, blood trickling down the corner of her lips as she slowly fell the short distance backwards to the ground.
Mira slowly got to her knees, reaching a trembling hand toward her mother to lightly touch the bleeding wound on her chest. Nova's fingered twitched slightly as she looked up at the red hair child, managing a faint smile.
"Run..." she whispered softly before everything seemed to go dark.
Mira clenched her fists so tight that her nails pieced her flesh, hissing quietly through her teeth. How dare he...?She knew what had happened. How DARE he!The one person that had shown her mercy...compassion. The one person she scare for above all else was murdered.I hate you...A dark aura began to form around Mira's body as she could no longer suppress her anger, her body slowly beginning to change.I HATE YOU ALL!!!Throwing her head back, the child released a white scream of rage, the end growing into that of a feral cry."Neko...NEKO! WAKE UP!" Domonic cried, shaking the screaming hanyou gently, not wanting to scare him. "For Christ's sake, WAKE UP!!" Neko woke with a start, his scream cutting short. Holy hell...was that a dream? He panted heavily, his entire body slick with sweat and fever, his muscles sore. What happened...? What was he dreaming about...that day? The blonde man kneeled beside the bed, gently moving some of the other's red bangs away from his face. He'd grown worried when Neko had started muttering in his sleep, and the scream practically made him jump right out of his skin. Apparently, the poor man had gotten a fever during the night and seemed to be having a nightmare. Seeing Neko frightened, however, wasn't anything he was exactly used to. "It's all right..." he soothed, resting a cold hand on his tanned shoulder. "Everything's okay now..." The demon hanyou closed his gold eyes for a moment, taking a few deep breaths to calm down. Oh Gods...of all things he could have dreamt about, why did it have to be that? That terrible day... He swallowed hard, his throat dry. The fact that he could still remember so clearly...every detail down to the very pain he'd felt back then... It scared him probably more than anything else did. "I-I'm sorry..." he stammered in a whisper. "I don't know w--" "Shhhh..." Domonic hushed him, leaning over and placing a small, soft kiss on the man's lips. "It's okay. We all get nightmares sometimes..." He kissed Neko again, this time deeper and lingering for a long moment. Neko sighed softly, kissing his partner back lightly. He knew the other was just trying to make him feel better, but he was so bothered right now that it was unfortunately not helped. It's the thought that counts though, right? Pulling away slowly, his blue eyes searched the other's gold ones for a moment before he smiled slightly, getting up off of the ground and standing upright. "How about this? I'll draw a nice, warm bath for you...maybe that'll help a little bit," he decided, nodding. "Um...a-all right, but really, I think I'm okay no--" "And then after that, I'll give you a massage!" he added cheerily, turning to head out the door and to the bathroom. Neko's cheeks turned bright red with blush as he quickly sat up, reaching toward the door. "W-wait! You don't..." he called after him, but it was too late. Sighed softly, he rubbed the back of his sore neck, tossing the warm blanket off of his legs. This night was just about to get even longer, it seemed...

August 22, 2004[color=white] Tahki I'm not sure, but I think something's wrong with Neko. He had a bad dream yesterday! But but but, when I looked outside, the moon wasn't gone, so I wonder what might have caused it? I hope Neko's okay, I don't want him to be upset anymore!
The pixas are getting a little better, now. They're still keeping me and...you know...really busy and stuff, but things are much more calm than they were. The...uh...dragon....thingy.......... gets trampled sometimes, but he seems to be all right. I made him take a nap, just to be safe, and since the pixas are napping too, all is good! ...Well...'cept for me.
I miss Ares, and I want her to come home. I miss Merri, too...but he said I can't go visit him, so I miss him! I know he's okay and stuff, but still. Neko said he may be coming home soon. How soon??? Why not noooow? Meeeeeeeeeerriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, come ho
Tosten never came by like Ares said he would! I'm worried... I hope he's okay! I'd go check myself, but I don't think I can get to his home by myself, and I don't wanna leave Talon here alone with the pixas. I mean dragon! DRAGON THINGY!! Talon isn't here!! Uh...uuum... BYE BYE!!

RP that occured August 26, 2004:[color=white] "Down! DOOOWNN!!" Talon demanded futilely, even as he was accosted by the churning herd of fur and claws beneath him. He held his fist high above his head where he was attempting to keep some treats out of reach of the pixas so that he could distribute them evenly among them, but it proved useless as a few of the kittens realized that they could (painfully) scale his body to get at them and had started to climb his legs as though he were a very oddly-shaped scratching post.
Guh...!! Where was Tahki?? She was supposed to have been back to help by now, he thought, feeling involuntary tears sting his eyes at the scratches he was recieving as he flailed his free arm in a useless attempt to dislodge the persistant little animals. However, as he moved to step backward, his ankles tangled beneath him and he spilled onto his backside where he was immediately engulfed, tiny jaws nipping at his fingers as they tried to seize their prize.Tahki fluttered into the room, munching on one of the three grapes she held in her arms. She was eating downstairs before she got distracted by the TV, and only had remembered what she was doing when Neko asked her why she had so much food. Claiming it to be a snack and immediately making her way back to the bedroom, the cold feien merely hoped her bond wouldn't invesitgate. It really was a kind of snack...or rather, lunch. She thought Talon might be hungry, given that he hadn't eaten anything since he got there, and she was worried about that. This could do the trick...maybe.
Flapping her wings a few times as she landed on the desk, she blinked a few times as she watched the pixa-herd scramble over the white feien. Silly creatures...well, silly feien, as well. Taking a step, she managed to trip over the pixas' food dish, not seeing it when she landed, juggling the three fruit in her arms. Oh...dear!! Catching two, a whole grape fell and rolled along the desk, attracting the attention of the young hoarde. Immediately they went after the grape, the new prize, and that was the last of them. All that was left was a large furry ball of swarming pixas, and a dazed Krystal sitting on Talon's chest.
"Are...you okay?" she piped up, looking at Talon rather concerned.Talon muttered a curse and uncurled his fingers, dropping what remained of the treats nearby and flexing his hand to assess the damage. Nothing too bad...a few nips and scrapes. The thing that was hurting most was likely his pride.
"I'm fine." he muttered, sitting up and sending Krystal tumbling to his lap. He hesitated and then gave the cat a cursory pet before setting her aside. "But THEY are out of control." he growled, pointing in the direction that the pixas had gone.Kyrstal flicked her tail as Talon pet him, then went for the last of the treats to take for herself. Tahki smiled a little bit, rather sheepishly. "Yes...they're getting rambunctious..." she admitted, sitting next to the other feien. "But but, pretty soon, Neko can help care for them, too! So, everything should be okay...I hope."
Taking a little bit out of her half-eaten grape, she held out the other one to Talon. "Hungry?" she asked after swallowing.Talon regarded the grape with half-interest. His stomach clenched at the sight of food as it had been nearly three days since he'd eaten anything, but the thought of actually summoning the energy to put it in his mouth, chew it, and swallow it left him feeling queasy. In the end, hunger pangs won out as he accepted it from her
"Thank you." he said with a nod, taking a small bite of the fruit's skin, making a face, and swallowing it...it was a little sweet for his liking, but edible. "If they get much more out of control, we won't be able to handle them pretty soon. But after THIS circus, children shouldn't be a hassle at all."
As he took another bite out of the flesh of his grape, a momentary feeling of dizziness overtook him that dissipated as quickly as it happened, making him hesitate, and then continue about his business, blaming it on the fact that, though his sleep had been better during his stay with Tahki, it was still sporadic.Tahki smiled a little bit, crossing her legs after Krystal pawed at her thigh. The kitten crawled into her lap, curling up into a little ball as the others scamped to the end of the desk, a few curling up while the others played with the string layed out.
"No, I don't image so," she agreed, taking another bite of her grape."What's left to do today?" Talon asked, starting to feel lightheaded again as he pondered the grape between his hands, wondering if the fruit was bad and making him feel sick as his stomach fluttered a bit. "We let them run around, we watered them, we fed them, now its time for their nap, right?"
Blinking slowly, he set the uneaten portion of his grape aside, deciding he was done with it for the moment and waiting for the wooziness to pass.Tahki had to think about that for a moment. It did seem to be the early afternoon...and that was usually the time they took their nap. "I think so," she said softly, nodding a little bit. "Their napping schedule seemed to change a little bit since they grew so big, but it's about that time...eventually they'll all get to sleep."
The cold feien lightly pet Krystal's head as she began to sleep herself, purring solft and her little claws gently kneaded against Tahki's ankle.Talon nodded once in reply and reclined a little further, reaching up to rub at one eye. Ugh...not even dinnertime and already he felt like he was running out of steam. Maybe he'd go to bed early tonight. Though he couldn't remember being THIS worn out in the recent past, even with the growing size and rambunctiousness of the pixas.
"Maybe we'll luck out and they'll sleep until tonight..." he muttered, sounding a little grumpy, the current fatigue coupled with the stinging of his earlier scratches not helping his mood much."Aww..." she cooed, setting down her mostly eaten grape for a moment. Tahki then reached her arms around, gently hugging the younger feien. "Does Talon need a nap too?""Mmph...no, Talon just needs to wake up, I think." he grunted, allowing himself to be hugged before pulling away from her gently and walking a short distance away. Another short bout of dizziness briefly overtook him, making him sway drunkenly before he caught himself and stood still, waiting for it to pass.
With a leathery fluttering of wings, he hefted himself into the air, flapping furiously as he hovered in one place, using none of his magic to help him stay afloat. By the time he landed again, he felt warmer and more awake, the previous sickly feeling all but gone.
"There." he panted, arching his back to pop it. "That's all I needed, just a--" he paused suddenly as another bout of light-headedness took him, this one much stronger than the previous ones. So much so that it forced his head down and his eyes closed. His balance faltered, though he somehow managed to stay standing as things within him impatiently shifted and expanded, his frame growing and his muscles stretching to accomodate the rapid size increase.
As quickly as it had begun, it was over again as he trembled and then collapsed to his knees. "What the HELL...??" he asked no one in particular in a voice that no longer sounded like his own.Tahki blinked a few times, rubbing her eyes a little bit as she watched. Did...she really see that? Was she just imagining things?? She could have sworn she just saw Talon grow a couple of inches... Picking up Krystal and carefully setting the kitten on the desktop, the cold feien ruffled her feathers as she stood up on her knees and semi-crawled over to Talon to get a closer look at him.
"Talon?" she piped up curiously, slipping up behind him and reaching out a hand to gently place on his shoulder. "Are you...o...kay..."
Her voice trailed off as she came to realize what had happened. The shoulder her hand now rested on was much broader than it used to be...and he was indeed bigger. Had he just grown up??? Quickly, she stood, fluttering over to the end of the desk to find the little hand mirror she owned. Since the other ones were covered up or taken down, that would have to do.Talon lifted his head slowly, blinking like he'd just been dazzled with a thousand camera flashbulbs. Mnnhh...what had just happened? Where was Tahki going in such a hurry?
"I don't look THAT washed-out, do I...?" he asked hesitantly, hearing the deeper tone of his voice which was now vaguely reminiscent of Dennis Leary's, and clearing his throat several times, thinking he'd gotten a frog in it somehow.Tahki rummaged through her things for a moment until she found the small mirror, smiling a little bit. Just as quickly, she returned, holding the mirror up to him so that he could see. "Lookie!" she giggled, blushing slightly at his new looks."Look at wh--" he trailed off as he peered into the mirror and saw the stranger looking back at him which made him instinctively recoil. No...not a stranger, he corrected himself, that was HIM. He reached out, taking the mirror from Tahki to examine himself...the way his features seemed broader, the way his spindly shoulders and neck had thickened, and in the small field of the mirror, he could see hints of his wings behind himself. They were much larger now, no longer the awkward juvenile nubs they'd been.
An adult...he was finally an adult!! "Do you know what this means, Tahki...?" he asked, handing her back the mirror once he'd satisfied himself that he wasn't seeing things. "No. More. Restrictions." As the last word left his lips a smile, probably the most unguarded and sincere one he'd ever summoned, unfurled across his mouth. Good GODS that felt good to say finally."Mmm?" Tahki hummed, looking around for a moment to see where she could put the mirrow safely. She didn't feel like leaving the now grown feien at the moment, so she settled for setting it carefully off to the side of the desktop, folding her arms behind her back as she straightened. She still blushed a little bit, looking a little shy at the moment, trying to get used to the fact that she didn't have to look up or down at him any longer.
"What do you mean, Talon?""I mean they can't tell us to stay away from each other anymore!" he declared, taking her gently by the shoulders. "We're not..." he paused, fishing for the word he wanted "...inappropriate in their eyes now. We can do whatever we want." That was going to be nice...never having to hear that damn lecture about trying to grow up too quickly anymore.Tahki blinked a few times, recalling what Neko had told her. He DID say that after Talon grew up, he'd have no more say in what the two did...so long as it was still taken slowly. She smiled, ruffling her feathers a little bit as she flung her arms around the other feien.
"Oh, Talon! We don't have to sneak around anymore!!" Which was good, because Tahki really hated going behind Neko's back when it came to doing certain things.Talon allowed her to hug him and hugged her back, folding his enlarged wings around her. It brought back an instant rush of nostalgia from when they'd both been children and he'd been taller than she. What had it been? Over a month he'd had to tolerate the radical size difference between the two of them and now, while he wasn't precisely taller than she was again, this was certainly much better.
"And its well-timed." he murmured. "Because diving under the desk every time Neko opens the door was really starting to kill my back."The cold feien giggled a little bit, pulling away just enough to look him in the eye. They couldn't say anything... They could no longer say that being with him was wrong. That above all else just made her very happy...
"Maybe you won't haveta hide anymore! If Neko knows you're grown up, then things would be fine, right? I think Miss Lady needs to know you're okay now...because I feel rather guilty about having to lie so much, Talon," she admitted, frowning slightly. "We can tell Miss Lady now, right??"Talon drew his brows up in perturbed thought...true, he probably COULD tell Karma where he was and what he was doing, but then, he didn't suppose the foxcoon's lectures and tirades cared for age. If she was angry with him, and he was rather sure that she was, she'd still b***h his ears off if he gave her the chance.
"Maybe..." he said, sounding like he was forcing the word out. "But....I think I'd rather wait. Just a few more days." He felt that might buy him a little time to figure out an argument in his defense and prepare a countertirade.Tahki nodded, agreeing with that. Nothing wrong with a few days...it would give him time to adjust after all. She hugged him again, nuzzling her cheek softly against his. Goodness, this feeling she felt...it was almost like a nervous one. It was as if she were meeting Talon for the first time again, but...it was different. This desire to just be held and touched almost scared her, and it was confusing if anything. However, the thought did occurr to her; what if she felt like that because she thought she was ready?
"Maybe...maybe we could see Corvus soon..." she said quietly, blushing slightly.Talon felt something inside of him cringe at the mention of visiting Corvus, but he forced it back. He'd promised, after all....and he was about as comfortable with the idea as he was going to get. Talon wasn't the type that accepted things fully as granted before they happened...he most likely wouldn't lapse into his role as a parent until he was staring down whatever the outcome of their breeding would be.
But still, the idea of dropping what they were doing, fulfilling the babies obligation, and then both returning to their respective homes to await the blooms' emergence seemed a bit...well, a bit rushed, really.
"We can go see Corvus whenever you like." he agreed at last, leaning in and nuzzling her cheek. "But...maybe afterward..." he fidgeted a little, wondering if she'd even be receptive to the idea before he presented it. He had a feeling she would have agreed even a couple of weeks ago, but with the new pixas to look after, he wondered if she might object to abandoning her obligations for even a short time."Afterward?" she asked curiously, peering at him again. He drew back a little from her and rubbed at the back of his neck. "Maybe afterward, we can go away for a few days. Just the two of us and spend some time together. No pixas, no bondmates, no houseguests....just you and me, Tahki."Tahki had to think about that for a moment. Just the two of them...? No nothing?
"..." Glancing over her shoulder for a moment at the pixas on the other end of the desk, she watched as they slept on, blinking a few times. Then again...a few days away from all of that might be a good idea. Looking back to Talon, she smiled, nodding a little bit. "Okay!"Talon smiled back upon hearing her answer and placed a hand under her chin, tilting her head up a bit and ducking in to kiss her gently, not really putting any thought behind it as he'd had to when he was still a juvenile.
He'd had his doubts the past few days, but things seemed to jolt themselves into perspective now and everything looked as though it was going to be fine. The biggest hurdle would just be meeting and dealing with Corvus.Tahki blushed a little bit as she kissed him back, finding herself falling into a bit of a daze. Well, that certainly felt different...the same, but different. Perhaps that was just something that came with being an adult.
"I love you, Talon," she whispered quietly, closing her eyes for a moment."I love you, Tahki." he murmured, the hand on her chin tracing the line of her jaw upward and pausing at the base of her ear. He felt a little hazy, like he'd just been jolted out of a pleasant dream...yes, something most definitely was different...he could tell just by looking at her through half-closed eyes that she'd noticed it too.

RP that occured August 26, 2004:[color=white] Corvus surveyed the shelves of the shop. Several new items had been added to the stock in the past few weeks, but most of the shelves were still quite bare, save for copious amounts of dust. Earlier, he had stopped to stand a moment in one of the empty shelves, only to then leave a trail of footprints when he moved to the counter. It was unacceptable, really. He would have to tell Em to do some dusting in the place. Now he was near the totally useless cash register, pondering whether or not he should bring more vials from the house. The were such ingenious little things, really, formed by a master glassmaker in Chicago. The woman had been quite surprised by the order, but had filled it and happily accepted the money Corvus (or rather, his go-between Djerod) offered in exchange. It was more than the vials were worth, but when you had money to throw around... Corvus scarcely noticed that he was no longer alone in the shop. Talonfaust alighted on the windowsill of the shop and gave it a cursory look-over. It had been a very long time since he'd been here last...the last time he could remember, in fact, was the night he and Tahki had attempted to look for playing cards and had, instead, incurred the wrath of a nest of baby spiders. It had been Tahki's suggestion to come here when he'd asked where they might find Corvus as Ares wasn't around to ask where he lived and Talon had no idea whatsoever where to start looking. His first assumption was that the shop was empty, not having noticed Corvus as his dark colors blended with the shadows.
Looking over his shoulder, he waited for Tahki to join him. "Looks like we're in for a wait." he remarked. Join him, or fly right past him? Tahki was rather oblivious to the flight, her eyes set on a butterfly that had been kind of flying with them. It was rather beautiful with its yellow and black markings, fluttering around carelessly as they made their somewhat short journey. Just as she'd passed the shop itself, the cold feien remembered what she was doing and quickly flew back, grinning happily.
"Wait?" she asked curiously, folding her arms behind her back. "Wait for wh--" Tahki's eyes, however, couldn't miss anything that bright. "Ooooo, what's that??"
Immediately flitting into the shop, her yellow eyes had caught hold of the long, golden colored hair near the cash register. What a pretty color! It reminded her of the blonde streak she saw in Yeande's hair. ...Did this mean there was a pretty man to go with the pretty lady?? Taking note of black feathers, finally being noticed, she blinked a few times, a little entranced. It was so dark! So...ooo! And gold swirlies!!
"Pretty!!" she finally declared with a giggle as she looked over her shoulder to the white feien on the window sill. "Wait for what, Talon?" Talon turned his head in the direction Tahki had aimed her exclamation and blinked twice, his eyes focusing on the black-accented feien he'd missed during his first glance-over. Yet another feien he'd not yet met, apparantly...at least this one hadn't met them with immediate hyperactivity and loudness...that was an immediate plus.
"For--" he broke off and sighed. "Nevermind." He muttered as stood, straightening his wings before gliding off of the sill to join Tahki. He was a bit clumsy, not having slept much the night before and thinking it best. If he was tired, he was less likely to snap at people. He wasn't sure what this Corvus would be like, but he WAS sure that he didn't want to ruin this for Tahki. The mass of vaguely glowing black feathers on the counter finally noticed Tahki and Talonfaust, primarily due to Tahki's propensity for exuberance. Corvus turned to look at them both. Neither was familiar. "Can I help you?" he said gravely, puffing out his chest slightly in a vain attempt to seem more intimidating. He need not have worried: the piercing glare he gave them from his mismatched eyes was quite menacing by itself. Tahki couldn't help but applaud a little bit. How...silly of her. Though, perhaps it was more of her bold nature that was allowing herself to be so giggy and absent minded at the moment, not aware just who the feien was. She was more amused by the fact that he reminded her of a peacock.
"You're very pretty! And gold and dark an--oh! You have two colors for your eyes like Tosten! Oooo, did you know that you're glowing?? Is that normal? How come you're glowing? I'm Tahki! What's your name?" she sputtered out without really thinking, all out of curiousity and awe. Corvus's mouth fell open, completely ruining the intimidation factor. He squinted at her briefly, brows drawing together with disbelief, and said, "I'm Corvus." That simple statement seemed to steady him: he crossed his arms and drew himself up to his full seven inches, wings stiffening at the perceived insult. Talon, up until then, had been watching with bemused interest as Tahki accosted the stranger and peppered him with compliments and questions. Upon hearing his name, however, the earth feien winced a bit. Oh good gods, the one person he'd hoped they WOULDN'T make the wrong impression on today and here he was looking at the two of them like they were a couple of flies and he was caught without his swatter.
Clearing his throat, Talon moved forward and put a hand on Tahki's shoulder, hoping to quiet her without saying so. "Corvus?" he repeated, making sure he'd heard him correctly before continuing. That seemed to be the appropriate launching point for a tirade. "Yes, Corvus. The one responsible for your existence? My apologies, as it seems I've created you with some sort of ear defect which prevents sounds from hitting your eardrum and making the connection to what I assume must be your brain, unless I mistakenly forgot that as well." He smiled smugly. Tahki blinked a few times, lifting her hands to put behind her ears. She cupped her hands a little bit, as if she were hard of hearing at first, but instead she was merely listening to the quiet surroundings. ...No, she wasn't deaf. She knew what the sounds where and where they were coming from. However, she grasped the tip of her ears and wiggled them a little bit, just to be sure.
"No, I can hear fine!" she smiled, taking what he'd said the wrong way as she folded her hands behind her back. "You can hear too, right Talon? Wow! So you're Corvus?? Ares did see you a while ago, right? When she had Merri??" Talon blanched a bit at the immediate and furious waves of dislike that seemed to eminate off of the new feien in their direction. Good Christ, he'd just -asked-....
Opening his mouth to retort, he wisely decided to shut it instead and bit down on a bit of his inside cheek to distract himself. Besides, Tahki was already chattering again, trying to interrupt her simply to counterinsult seemed a bit pointless. His ears, however, twitched unconsciously at the remark as though inadvertantly making sure he -wasn't- deaf after all... "My gods," said Corvus, "nobody warned me Gogol had reproduced. Let me tell you a little secret." He uncrossed his arms to point at the far corner of the shop. "It you go stand over there, eventually a leprechaun will come and grant your every wish. But you have to be very, very quiet." He had never actually thought he would need to use that particular statement, but figured it had a good chance of working under the circumstances. Tahki blinked, her ears perking up slightly, though it was hardly noticable with the way that they drooped. Oh dear...she'd said something wrong, didn't she?
"But..." she protested, frowning slightly, "leprechauns don't exist." Talon closed his eyes, taking a deep breath and forcing himself to calm. He'd never actually heard anyone snap at Tahki before, found he didn't like it, but was doing hisdamnnest to keep his temper about it.
"We....needed to ask something of you." he stated, unable to keep a bit of a tremor out of his voice. "If you're not in the middle of anything..." he paused a beat "....sir." he added as an afterthought. He worried if he left it to Tahki to ask, she'd pounce all over Corvus and chitter excitedly about wanting to be a mommy. At least one of them had half a brain, Corvus reasoned, rolling his eyes. "Nonsense, I live to serve your every whim and desire at your convenience. Without you, my life is totally meaningless." He threw his arms wide and made a sweeping bow, his long yellow ponytail falling over his shoulder to sweep the surface of the counter. Well, that was one way to dust. Talonfaust blinked and closed his eyes again to keep from rolling them as well. Oh god -damn-, if you put this one and Globin in a blender together, you'd end up with about a bucket of toothpaste-thick melodrama and angst that even the darkest of vampires would avert their eyes from.
"We're interested in becoming parents." he stated quietly, forcing his eyes open again. "We were told to see you." "If only I were being ironic," drawled Corvus as he straightened. "Alright, let's hear it. Who are you and why do you deserve my services?" He looked at Tahki skeptically. Tahki had begun to look down rather sadly as this seemed to go on. How strange... She hadn't really expected it to go like this, and was beginning to wonder if this was what she thought might go wrong. Would...Corvus deny them wanting to breed? It hadn't even occurred to her when she decided that -that- could possibly happen.
"Did Ares have to go through this, too?" she asked rather quietly, her large bi-colored wings drawing closer to her back. "Did Ares get picked on because she wanted to be a mommy?"
She looked up then, looking much more serious that she usually did. What an odd time to suddenly grow focused. "My name is Tahki...this is Talonfaust. We came to you because we wanted to breed together...is that possible?" Corvus looked at Talonfaust then. "Well, apparently you are the possessor of the half brain the two of you must share." Looking back at Tahki, he said, "Despite the fact you have technically answered my first question, I want more than your given names, girl. If you feel I'm too harsh, you can go find another summoner to do your breeding. I heard there's one somewhere. And no matter what games Ares plays at, I'm not here to play parental services. You idiotic young feien, drawing off that damn parenting idea from your human bonds." He waved a hand dismissively at them both, finally returning his attention to Talon. "How about you? Identification? Justification?" Talon put his hands behind his back to hide the fact that his left had clenched into a fist and refused to uncurl and cleared his throat. "As you know my name, sir, I'd ask that you clarify identification with my apologies for not understanding. As for justification..." he paused, wondering where to start. "There are things that I want to do before I die. Things I'm not sure I'd survive. I don't want to leave Tahki with no one if that happens, and I'm well-aware neither of us have contributed anything noteable to the community...Tahki is too--well, she's a bit high-strung as you've seen, I'm..." he trailed off, deciding mentioning that he'd been told he was crazy was not the best thing to say. "I'm a bit standoffish, but Tahki is also very gentle and loving, I have concentration and eagerness to learn. Its possible working together we could prepare these children for something better. Healers, scientists..." he trailed off, really not sure what else to add to that. Of course he had personal reasons, but he had a feeling those weren't what Corvus was looking for. For a moment, Corvus just stared. He had been intending applause, but this result was almost as bad as the first. "My god, are all feien this delusional?" he muttered. "What part of 'I am not running a family planning service' did you miss? I can't let you breed. You're both clearly too attached to the idea of the outcome." He shrugged slightly. Tahki blinked a few times, a little dazed by what was just said. Can't...let them breed? Too ATTACHED?? What, are you not supposed to care about the outcome of breeding with someone? Are you supposed to hate the children that come from it? ...Why?
"Are we not supposed to be attached to the blooms that come from breeding?" she asked, folding her hands infront of herself now. "Are supposed to just...pass it off and not think twice about it?" Corvus smirked a moment, caught himself, and suddenly took a step forward, examining the air between Talon and Tahki. He hummed thoughtfully and placed a finger there between them. "Riiiight here," he said. "This is where your collective brain must be. No wonder it's so hard for any single one of you to draw a complete conclusion. Bzzt. Someone give the lady a prize." His eyes flashed with amusement. Talon sighed in slight exasperation, not knowing what it was Corvus wanted to hear from them. He cast an apologetic look to Tahki, knowing her feelings must be hurt, and then spoke again. "I know feien don't require parenting. But by the same token, when you consider how many human bonds are directing their misfiring maternal instincts onto their fairies, treating them like children, coddling them, and trying to get them to believe that they are, in fact, human, its a bit hard for the same sort of ideals not to rub off on you. Apparantly that's wrong of us, but I've given as impersonal of reasons as I can. I'm sorry if they're not good enough." A hand settled on Tahki's shoulder comfortingly. Hearing that, Corvus rolled his eyes. "How very impressive of you, to recite to me my earlier statements in greater depth. Unfortunately, your stirring tale has fallen to that ear problem feien seem to have. Flowers go to humans, humans decide what to do with them, and it's not up to you. You cannot, after all, provide the one thing a feien requires for life: a human bond." The summoner's haughty stance dared either of them to try and object to this decree. "But, we KNOW that," she protested, looking down again. "We have human bonds...or, well, close to human anyway. They'll take our blooms to bond with, and we can help them take care of those blooms! No one ever said that a feien couldn't help in that part..."
Tahki lifted a hand to rub at the back of her neck. She knew she wouldn't be able to bond with one of her blooms. But...bonding didn't only happen through magic. Even if her bond would be the one keeping her children alive, she would be the one caring for them just as much as a human would. Isn't that bonding as well?
"I know that...there isn't a way for a feien to bond with another feien. Not to live, anyway," she agreed. She knew about the spell that bound one feien to another. "But does that mean I can't help my bond care for the bloom? I helped create it...isn't that bonding in a different way? Or is that not allowed?"Corvus sighed and rubbed at his eyes. This was quickly growing tiresome. "You're missing the damn point. Unless your bonds were planning on keeping all the resulting blooms, they'll go to other people. And if you knew about that already, you shouldn't come requesting a blooming from me on the grounds that you'd both make spectacular parents for a lovely little family. When the hell am I going to summon some decently intelligent feien?" Talon bit his tongue and tried to think back. s**t, he hardly ever listened to his bond, but she was on that damned phone near-nightly with what he assumed were friends of hers, informing them of every small thing he and Globin had done for the day...did other humans really GIVE a damn about that? Apparently they must because she followed her statements near-constantly with "Aww, if I find one that needs a home, you'll be one of the first I come to!" So each bloom would need a human bond...each bond would take each child in a separate direction. All right, the impartialness to offspring was starting to make sense to him now. "I'm sure both of our bonds would each want to take one...and both are in contact with people who'd gladly take what they can't care for." he said carefully. He was starting to lose faith in the entire ordeal and had a feeling it was only a matter of time before Corvus would finally have enough of them and either tell them to leave or leave himself, meaning a very quiet flight home and an emotional meltdown from his better half...great. His eyes couldn't seem to decide whether they'd be better off focusing on Corvus's or on the floor and darted back and forth between both.Tahki sighed softly, her wings and ears drooping down a little bit. Why did everyone seem to think that she never planned these things...? Or rather, why did they think she didn't take these things seriously? She HAD taken into account that Neko and Karma wouldn't take all of the blooms. And there were others that could take the blooms...it wasn't like Tahki and Talon couldn't visit the children, right?
"They'll be given to good homes, I think...the ones that our bonds don't keep for themselves," she agreed with Talon a little, lifting a hand to carefully take his in her own. "We don't have to be together all the time to be a family. I know they won't always be there...or we won't always be there. They'll...have another family themselves. They'll have their human bonds..."It was all Corvus could do to keep from sneering at the poor girl. "This is not a joint custody arrangement. You will not be the feien in question's family unless that feien and that feien's bond allow you to be such. If you're going to insist on such childishness, then all I can say to you is good day." He jerked his chin in her direction and turned smartly on his heel. "Who's being a child, me or you?" she shot back at him, hardly able to take much more of this. She hadn't come here to be ridiculed over a decision she'd made. She wanted to prove something...wanted to BE something...
"I want this...I want this probably more than anything in the world right now. No one ever takes me seriously because of how I act most of the time...so why? Why are you denying this? Do you think I made a mistake wanting something like this?"How Corvus loved being fed his lines. "Your entire existence is a mistake," he said, whirling back about. "Either accept a degree of reality, or don't bother me. What part of 'I do not exist so you can play house' do you not understand?" Anger...rising. Losing her concentration for a moment, one of her spells seemed to active itself with her frustration, the air growing a little colder around her. A mistake...? A MISTAKE? "That still doesn't explain WHY," she said through her teeth.Talon's fingers rightened on Tahki's a bit, giving her hand a squeeze in attempts to calm her. "All right, then," he said quietly. He'd repressed his anger so much that it had put him into a sort of a lull. He no longer felt he was in danger of exploding, but was painfully aware of his teeth clenching and unclenching themselves and Corvus's voice had become grating on his ears. "Since....you've made it more than clear that neither of us knows what we're talking about, apparantly we're only wasting your time. For that, I apologize." He closed his mouth, not trusting himself to speak further for a few moments and looked to Tahki for ideas on where to go from there as he was officially out for the moment.Corvus sighed. "You are neither of you particularly bright, which annoys me, but so long as you relinquish your claims on the blooms and allow the humans to deal with them, you can have your breeding. Not that I haven't been saying that half a dozen times now. You should both be ashamed of yourself, as your lack of intelligence is a detriment to the feien race. I can only hope your offspring won't be such dullards. Then again, statistically, four out of five feien are total imbeciles. The fifth is dead." Talon vented his breath out over his teeth in a soft hiss and said nothing. Actually, he -was- ashamed of himself. The haughty tone of voice suggesting he should be as such only drove the idea home. He'd read the breeding information shortly after he and Tahki had discussed this for the first time, he'd read the part about feien needing to bond with humans to survive, he didn't realize it had come across as he and Tahki wanting to bond with their offspring themselves, just to be a part of their lives. But...rrgh. All right, the hard part was over, at least. "....thank you." he said, lowering his head a bit."Not so fast," said Corvus. His voice dropped to a low growl. He pointed accusingly at Tahki. "What do you say, girl?" Tahki twitched slightly. Calm...calm. "Thank you?"The explosion that came next was unprecedented. Corvus's arms flew up into the air, he jumped up and down furiously, and shouted, "RELINQUISH YOUR CLAIMS OF MOTHERHOOD OR GO STAND IN THE CORNER AND PRAY FOR A LEPRECHAUN!" The golden glow around him seemed to intensify by several degrees. Tahki's eyes grew wide for a moment, rather scared by the sudden outburst. ...Wait a minute. "Er, if I were to relinquish that, then who would breed with Talon?" she asked curiously. "And did you know you're glowing?"Talon sighed, fighting the urge to slap his forehead and leaned over to murmur "Tahki....he means you have to agree to let them all go to humans to bond with. Not try to have a traditional family and keep them all together. If they get split up, they get split up.""YES!" howled Corvus, jumping up again. The veins on his neck were popping out with rage. Tahki blinked a few times, finding herself amused by Corvus' jumping. "Um....okay?" she said, lifting a brow.Talon, despite Corvus raging at the both of them in frustration, felt himself starting to relax a bit, his arms trembling with unspent adrenaline and his fingers compulsively tightening on Tahki's.Smacking himself on the forehead, Corvus sighed. "Dammit. I need some coffee." He started to move towards the door. "Are you fools coming or what?" Talon looked sidelong at Tahki and then started forward with a nod, still holding her hand and gently pulling her along with him. "Let's go." he muttered, his pride still feeling thoroughly zinged...and probably long overdue for a zinging, at that.Tahki watched for a moment, letting herself be dragged. So...that was Corvus. ...She'd be damned before thinking about doing this again, she figured. She smiled to Talon, trying to cheer up a little bit before clinging to his arm.

(August 27, 2004)Ares quietly fluttered up to the bedroom window, glancing at the screen covering the entrance. How strange... When did that get put up? And further more, why? Inspecting the screen a little, she noticed it was movable, and that it had indeed been moved rather recently. Lifting the screen, the time feien floated into the room, and began to look for signs of life. " Tahki?" she called out, her three red eyes glancing around the room. Perhaps Merrimack had come home while she was gone... " Merri??" Save for the soft mewing, there was only silence that answered back, finding it rather disturbing. Ares flitted over to the desk, landing gracefully among attention deprived pixas who immediately began to swarm around her feet. Blinking a few times, she realized that they must have been hungry, as they lightly clawed and nibbled at her ankles, licking her legs and feet. How...odd. Stepping away the best she could from the many kittens and few puppies, and peeked into the open drawer that usually contained the food. There were now three bottle caps sitting at the bottom, next to the paper sack with crumbs. Flitting down into the drawer, she picked up two caps and gathered food in them, using her magic to flutter back to the desktop to set them down. She was tired...her body ached from flying all day, and her magic was steadily growing weaker and drained. She'd get them water later...a nap was in order, as soon as she found Tahki. With the hoard of pixas distracted by food, and the adults watching the swarm warily, Ares began to search the desk for any signs of another feien. No feathers...misplaced string...no mess. Amazing...Tahki was actually keeping the place clean?? Well, there was a piece of paper laying in the middle... Walking over to the white sheet, the black and blue feien bent down to pick it up, noticing the messy red writing on it. Oh...it was addressed to her. The note read...[color=white] Dear Ares,
I'm not sure when you'll be coming back, but I thought I'd let you know that I'm not here! I'll be back soon, though...I promise! I'm with Talon, so everything is fine. He'll take care of me if anything goes wrong. Tosten didn't come by like you said he would, but that's okay...Neko left me a bunch of pixas and Talon came over and helped me take care of them! It was so nice! The pixas are all bigger now and stuff, so they can't kinda care for themselves somewhat. I should be back tomorrow, if you come back and I'm gone! I'll see you when I get back, Ares! I missed you!
Lots of LOVE! Tahki Ares blinked a few times, reading over the words carefully. Okay, when exactly was "yesterday" and "tomorrow" when Tahki wrote this? It couldn't really have been too long, otherwise the pixas would have been ravenous when she arrived. ...Wait. Tosten didn't come by?? The sheet of paper slipped from her loose grip, her three eyes growing a little wider. Tosten...did something happen to him? She was worried before she left, since she couldn't find him, but not visiting Tahki while she was gone... What if he'd gotten hurt? Or worse yet, what if something had... No, that wasn't something to think about. Tosten was alive. He HAD to be. But...that slight chance... She had to see. She was tired, both physically and magically exhausted, but if her friend was indeed in trouble, she just had to know. Quickly, she took wing out the window, rolling the screen back down as fast as she could so that the pixas wouldn't start any kamikaze dive-bombs into the ground. With every once of speed and strength she had left, she flew as quickly as she could toward the Hurog, her mind stricken with worry. Oh dear gods... she thought to herself. Please let him be okay...

RP that occured August 27, 2004[color=white] Just Ares' luck. She was already tired from having just gotten back from her trip, and this was making things worse. Upon returning home, she had been informed by a note from Tahki that Tosten had never come by. Immediately, the time feien had made her way toward the Hurog, knowing full well that Tosten would never go back on his word unless something happened. However, of course, nothing was ever easy, now was it? The owl behind her was starting to catch up as she was completely exhausted, not even knowing if she'd be able to make it to the keep. At this rate, things were little grim...
Zig zagging quickly though the trees, the black and blue feien shot out into the clearing, breathing heavily as she began to slow down. No...she couldn't give up just yet. There had to be some way she could lose the owl... Looking ahead, Ares' three red eyes caught a glance of the stone wall. Perhaps...just maybe if she timed it right... With all of her speed, the small feien dove off to the left, heading toward the stone wall. Maybe she could trick it...maybe she could pass this off, and she'd be able to make it. The large bird began to quicken its own dive, an annoying screech passing its beak. Almost there... Almost ready.
Just as Ares reached the wall, she immediately shot upwards, wincing as the force of the direction bumped her body against stone wall. The owl, however, didn't turn up in time, and smacked hard against the stone, allowing the feien to flee quickly. Landing on the edge of the wall, she nearly collapsed as she looked over the side, watching the owl stagger on the ground, disoriented from the crash. Yes...that should give her enough time.
Panting and wheezing, the time feien took flight again, trying her hardest not to fall from the air. She ached all over, her vision growing blurry as it was, hardly able to breathe. She was tired...mentally, and now physically, praying to the Gods that she'd make it to the window. She had to admit that this wasn't the wisest decision she'd made, however, was was worried that something terrible might have happened to her friend while she was gone. Clumsily, she continued to float in the air, finally reaching the window sill. Immediately, her wings dropped down, and she stumbled a few steps toward the inside, stopping after a moment.
"To...sten..." she managed to choke out before collasping on the sill."Nooo, I want the other show!" Tosten cried, flailing a hand at the remote that Nekota was sadistically keeping out of the feien's reach."If you want to change the channel come get it." The fox taunted. Cruel to most, he was determined to make Tosten move more, he had spent more then enough time recovering. While flight was still not an option, his legs weren't broken from at least walking. "Noo! Give--""Did you hear something?" "Liiiies, I want the-- ah?" Puzzled, Tosten followed Nekota's gaze to the window and, once he focused, gasped in surprise. "Ares?!"Nekota, at least, could move when the feien couldn't ... or at least wouldn't. He was bounced to his feet off the bed, approaching the sill to gather up the collapsed feien worriedly. Was she awake? It didn't seem it, but he brought her inside to give a worried once over. "Is she okay? Nekota! Neeekooota!" Tosten had gotten to his feet at least, risen near to his toes but of course he was far from being able to see into Nekota's cupped hands."I don't.. think she's hurt, just a little scraped." Nekota confirmed. Given her heaving breaths and ragged appearance he had an idea what was wrong. "I think she's just tired. I'll put her in your bed-" "Over here!" The air feien demanded worriedly. The fox blinked curiously but changed the direction and set the blue and black female upon the pillow and towel bedding of Tosten's sickbed. "I'll prepare some food and drink." Nekota suggested, in case she needed to replenish herself when she woke. So off he went as Tosten settled down and worried over Ares, skittering his position so her head would be in his lap. Poor Ares! The hour had gone late as time passed. Nekota had brought a small variety of things to leave upon the table top over the drawer the two feien were residing. Eventually he left though, to tend to things downstairs... even though it was so dark by now, he was a night person. He rarely got to bed until dawn so the bedroom was silent. But it wasn't all that long. "Who is that?" Calico had returned home only a few minutes ago and, spying the stranger, perched on the drawer once aware she was not concious. It was taking some time for his eyes to adjust as he stared down at her."A... Ares." Tosten replied meekly."She got tha' eye like Merrimack, eh?""She's his Mother.""..." Calico frowned at that information. "She's ugly." He spat in disgust. Tosten didn't reply, flinching and just downcasting his eyes to his beloved friends face unhappily. She was beautiful, but he couldn't manage to say that...
"She's waking up." He whispered instead, at first not sure if it was true or he was bluffing. It worked either way. Calico scowled, squinted at the adults face and ******** 'ell, make 'er leave." He added on before he flit up and darted away, retreating to the terrarium. He had little desire to meet the Mother of those annoying kids.Tosten peered after him then looked down at Ares again, gently stroking aside a few misplaced hairs as he watched her face rather worriedly again.Ares stirred a little as she grew conscious, her ears twitching very slightly. Voices...all she could hear at first were their voices. Tosten and...who was that? It wasn't anyone she recognized, and at this point, she honestly didn't care. Slowly, her three eyes blinked open, her wings twitching slightly as they layed flat behind her. Where was she...? That's right, she was at the Hurog. Her red eyes darted around for a moment as they focused, and stopped as she recognized the dark figure hovering over her. She blinked a few times, her fingers twitching a little bit as she also realized just how sore her entire body felt at the moment. A note to herself...never try to do that again after flying all day.
The time feien parted her red lips to try and say something, but all that came out, as her throat was dry, was a hoarse whisper. "To...en...?" was what could be heard.Tosten's ears pricked expressively when the faint sound was issued. He gathered Ares a little more to him, lifting her some so in hopes of hearing her better.
"Ares? Are you all right? Are you awake?" He wouldn't have been surprised if that had been his imagination after all, it did have a habit of running away with him even when he thought he was focused.Ares winced a little bit, managing to lift a hand to touch his arm gently. Well, she supposed that wasn't uncalled for, given how soft her voice had been.
"Water..." she managed to mutter. Perhaps if she drank something, her voice would be clearer...Tosten blinked in surprise when she did indeed speak. Oh, it hadn't been in his head! Thank goodness, that would have been -- ah, wait, she was asking for something.
"Oh, um, I think Nekota brought something, waitwaitwait." He as gently as possible lay Ares down again. Then he rose himself to his feet... all of Nekota's efforts to get him to move had been futile yet now Tosten more then willingly scrabbled up from the drawer onto the table top so to puzzle over the things Nekota had left.
"It's been here, er, a few hours I think... we can get better stuff later." The air feien babbled, trying to balance the doll cup of the few that Nekota brought while climb back down. Oof, down beside Ares again then gathering her once more.
"I think its fruit punch, actually." He mentioned as he brought the cup to her lips, none too sure if she could do it herself and far too worried to even think of that.Ares blinked a few times as the cup was brought to her lips, not having much of a choice to drink. S-sweet...but nonetheless, it wasn't anything horrible. She drank it slowly, making a note to see about water later, but she couldn't complain right now...what Tosten was doing was more than enough, and couldn't possibly be given enough gratitude. She tried to pull away when she had enough, clearing her throat a little bit. Much better...
"Thank you," she said quietly, trying to sit up. She gave up rather quickly, however, knowing she didn't have the strength to sit up for long even if she could manage. When he felt her trying to withdrawl he quickly brought away the cup, peering wide eyes as she struggled to sit up and seemed to be defeated by it.
"What happened Ares? You're not hurt, right?" Though Nekota claimed he hadn't seen anything the air feien still worried. Setting the cup aside he shifted about, shifting her with him so she could rest back against the overstuffed lining of the drawer side so she'd be sitting up, since she had been trying so hard to do so.Winced again a little bit before she settled, her wings drooping limply and lazily behind her. They were just too tired to rest on her shoulders, and her back felt a little tender from all the fly she'd done the past two weeks. Right...never again without plenty of rest.
"No, I don't think so," she sighed softly, looking over to the air feien. "I was just exhausted. I got home, found out you hadn't been there, and thought I'd stop by to see what happened. That owl just kind of...took up the rest of my energy."
She was quiet for a moment, part of the worry she felt coming back. The fact that he didn't check up on Tahki wasn't the only thing that had bothered her...
"Tosten...you didn't show up before I left. I came here, but...Nekota didn't know where you were either. What happened...?"Tosten blinked at her questions, not expecting such things so soon. Then he flickered an ear and looked ever so surprised then.
"Ah? You were coming here cause you were worried -- and there was an owl?! Wah, Ares, I'm sorry!" He scooted closer and peered her worriedly, brushing back bits of her hair again, trying to figure out what to do to make her feel better. All she needed was rest but he wanted to do more.
"I, uh... I ... well... stuff, don't worry right now, okay? You should rest and if you hafta think about stuff like that it isn't resting. You can sleep here and everything! Do you want Nekota to call your bond for you? I can tell him to...!"Ares thought for a moment. Come to think of it, Neko didn't even know she'd returned... She merely saw Tahki and left right away. Smiling a little bit, she nodded the best that she could.
"Yes...it would be best for Neko to know where I am. Just...let her know that I'm fine, and I should be back home soon?" Of course, she didn't know exactly when she'd be home, but as long as her bond knew, then everything was fine, right?Tosten nodded promptly in agreement with her words and offered the best smile he could, though given the conditions it was strained. She had scared a couple of years off his life! Or, well, months given his life-span.
"I'll tell Nekota! Um... when he next comes up though, I can't go down there." He admitted a little sheepishly, then cast it all aside as he sidled closer to the other feien. "Are you cold or anything? There's some blanket - a really soft bit and everything! And there's some food up there, I think fruit? It was brought here for you so its all~ yours if you're hungry too." He rambled more rapidly then usualy, his tone seeming nervous as he looked over her condition again and again, hardly reassured.Ares shook her head a little bit, closing her eyes for a moment. Aside from the aches, she seemed to feel fine, her tail twitching a little bit next to her.
"Why can't you go down there?" she asked curiously, wondering if he was perhaps 'grounded' to this room. With two people told already, Tosten's fear was at its max. He swallowed nervously that she asked as he had a feeling it'd be unavoidable, and decided to distract his hands from shaking by brushing aside her hair, even if he had already done so earlier. He had been so brave up till now, why was it hard with her?
"I... can't fly." Lying to her was impossible... Yeande made him fret but Ares just accepted it and that gnawed at him. "My, ah, my wing.. it broke - its getting better now, it doesn't hurt so much, and I know I can fly with magic but I just, well it seems hard and I like using my wings so... I stay in bed instead." He blurt it all out, more then he needed to say, as though hoping over explaining the situation would make up for all his previous lies.Ares blinked a few times, turning her eyes to his wings for a moment. As explained, one of them did seem a little out of shape... But, how? She'd never known Tosten to do many things that would end up hurting him.
"I...know how that can be," she admitted, looking back at the blue feien. "I use my own wings more than magic to fly, merely because of my poor magic ability. But...Tosten, how did you break your wing? That couldn't have been the reason you didn't come by that morning...I'm sure Nekota wouldn't have let you out if he knew."Tosten tipped his head a little to one side and puffed a breath. He gently laced an arm through her own, trying his best not to disturb her while fulfilling his need to be close and cling.
"I want to say its an accident..." Was how he started softly. "But it'd be another lie and I kinda, sorta, maybe have been saying... lots and lots of those." Another pause before he stuck out his tongue to himself for making this so hard and closed his eyes stubbornly. "Well you know, when I was gonna... you know, meet you, tell you that secret 'n everything?"Ares nodded slowly, lifting a hand to brush away a little bit of his frizzy hair so that she could see his face better. "Yes?"A short-lived experience as after a moment he just buried his face against her arm. His horn gave a rude little bump but he adjusted that immediately with a mumbled apology before actually continuing.
"Well, um, someone heard me say that and I really really wasn't supposed to.. so I wasn't allowed to go see you... and it was okay at first, you know? I mean it was weird but it wasn't BAD - it got bad though and I really reaaaaally had to see you and--" A pause for a breath, but it was small. Who knew how he continued to ramble so rapidly with so little air. "--and SO I tried to leave and that was bad and so.. so its kinda... kinda fuzzy after that, you know? Cause it really hurt, I mean seriously, there was like sparkles and then I felt sick all the time and then I was back home, Its kinda all ... whats the word? Psycho-deli now that I think about it. Psycho deli? That can't be it..."Ares frowned slightly, resting her hand lightly on his arm. It was a little hard to understand it all, but after a moment she did get what he was saying, sighing softly. Even if he didn't say it, it was only logical; someone had been keeping him from telling anyone the things he was hiding.
"So someone hurt you...to keep you from telling me..." she concluded aloud, looking down at him a little bit. "Am I right?"Tosten peeped up a little at the touch, peering to her face rather timidly. He wasn't so sure what he was worried he might see there but the worry was present nonetheless.
"Uh-huh..." He nodded, guilty now that it was put like that so he added on more hurriedly. "But its okay now, cause that was a while ago - days ago, you know? So its fine! I mean, I saw Yeande and Aileron and I feel safe, no more bad stuff is gonna start happening... just.. you know, the stuff that I can't forget." In all his eagerness to reassure her he just ended up rather depressed at the end regardless of how he had tried to avoid worrying her. She was his closest friend, it was hard not to speak every ounce of his heart to her, no matter how silly it could be.A part of Ares wanted to press into the subject further, but noticing the depression Tosten felt over the issue... Perhaps things would work out for themselves. His wing would heal, and his friends would try to keep him safe. That's all that they really could do, right? Carefully, and a bit painfully for herself, the time feien lifted her arms to wrap around the other feien, gently holding him to herself as she closed her three eyes.
"At least you're safe now," she said quietly, kissing his forehead softly. "You can't even imagine the worry I felt when I couldn't find you before I left. So long as you'll be okay, then...everything's fine, right?""You want to talk about worry?" Tosten's humor was strained and yet honest all the same, he wanted to be happy, it was his nature, it just came with trying to overcome these down points. "How about how worried I was when you passed out on the window sill? Omigosh I thought my heart was packing its bags and moving out, it was so scary...!!"
Since her arms had moved to hold him he took from lightly clinging her arm to more of a hug, light nonetheless as he tried to remember she was sore. "... I dunno if everything's fine." His voice softened again, admitting quietly, nervously. "I mean, different sorta fine. I mean, uh.. nothings bad is gonna happen but I.. don't feel fine, does that make sense?"Ares nodded, opening her eyes a little bit. "I understand," she said softly, petting his hair a little bit. It was easier to move her arms this way...kind of rested on the other. "That, things are okay on the outside, but you don't feel that things are fine on the inside?"Tosten nodded solemnly in agreement, resting his head against her like his own feien pillow. Ah, he was content like this despite all his internal dispute, it was so easy to relax. Much like the night that Aileron had stayed late with him.
"Uh-huh... Its kind of a funny feeling. Its kinda like cold and prickly, like its tickling but it feels bad. When I think about it too much it makes my throat hurt and my eyes water." He scrunched up his nose as he tried to describe it, wondering if he was making it sound more like a disease then an emotion. He timidly revealed more, hoping this would explain it better.
"It... was Sunil, Ares." He admitted quietly, hoping she understood the problem that caused for him. How dear a friend she had been in his childhood, how it ever became like this he didn't understand.Ares closed her eyes again upon hearing the name. Sunil... She'd managed to avoid the blue female ever since she'd grown up herself, but she knew very well how much Tosten had treasured what he did have with the other feien. It was almost strange... First Sunil had hurt Seamus, then had a verbal bout with Ares. And now...going as far as to break Tosten's wing? It was as if it were destined the "gang" to not be as such. They had been friends...and now, it seemed to just be herself and Tosten.
"I'm sorry," she whispered faintly, resting her forehead gently against his. "You haven't exactly lost friends before, had you?"Tosten flushed a little in the cheeks, just adding a shade of dark coloring to already dark skin. He wasn't sure why he felt embarrassed but he did. "I've.. ah, well.. I mean I have. Kind of. They've.. gone away, or just.. you know, are gone. But this, ah, I guess its different.. she isn't gone, I mean not like how the others are gone..." This time even he grimaced at his attempt explanation. "... You won't do that, right? You'll stay?" He couldn't help but pressure her, far too needy.Ares smiled a little bit, keeping her third eye closed as she opened her other two. "Of course I'll stay. There isn't a thing in this world that would make me stop being your friend," she assured him.Tosten seemed pleased with that as a smile came to his own lips and he drew back only to snuggle down, burrowing against her as that was where he intended to stay. "I'm glad." He replied softly, so easily satisfied. "I'll be your friend forever and ever too."Ares petted his hair a little bit again, only able to smile. "I'd very much like that," she said quietly, hugging him a little bit. "I don't think I'd ever be able to find someone else like you, Tosten. You're irriplacable."Tosten blinked up slightly at that, not so sure he understood but he followed enough to be quite flattered. And being flattered? He liked that. It brought a lighter blush to his face, less deep then when embarrassed.
"Mmm!" Was the pleased little sound he made and snuggled himself right on against her, hiding his face some while he was at it. "Are you comfy? Do you want move more? Is it okay if I stay right here? I can move a bit, like, uh.. this." Fidget. "Or this!" Fidget squirm. "Or is this better?" Fidget squirm wriggle. "Or.."Okay, now that just tickled, if it did anything. Ares giggled a little bit, blushing faintly. He truely was adorable...and not a thing could possibly replace his cuteness.
"I'm fine...and yes, you can stay there," she smiled, blinking once. "Providing you don't mind me sleeping. I'm growing rather tired..."Tosten stilled himself, finding a position that he at least was comfortable in and he was hoping it satisfied her. He made sure that he was just draping an arm on her and putting his weight on the pillowed bottom of the drawer then pressuring her sore body.
"I don't mind~..." He drawled back softly, in a silly little sing-song that somehow managed to seem out of tune, goodness knows how a sing-song voice could ever do that. "I'd like to sleep too, my eyes are all heavy~." Not to mention it was so easy to get sleepy when he had company, it felt so much more safe."We can talk more in the morning...I should be feeling better by then," she said softly, closing her eyes one last time. The faint smiled remained on her red lips, her arms still resting lightly on the blue feien, one hand very gently smoothing his hair much like a mother did to her sleeping child. She liked this...not necessary sleeping in someone's arms like she had the last two weeks, but just being able to hold onto someone.
"Goodnight, Tosten...I hope you sleep well."
