Kokoroki Chikiya I have a question to ask, I've heard 'dooshita no' in many places in Japanese, but I haven't been able to find out what it is. Can somebody tell me? it means "What's the matter?" or "what's wrong" in Hokkaido-ben and Miyagi-ben they use "Nashita no?" and "Nashite"(doushite-why) Aha! I knew that somehow actually. sweatdrop

Iephina isn't 1 in japanese "ichi" i thought it was ichi....some guy came into our class doing a harrassment presentation and he was going to perform a skit so he wanted us to go "1,2,3 ACTION" in Japanese....so he decided to teach us but he said "1" was ich, like as in "itch", he sure is crazy xp It actually depends, and doesn't really matter. Some people say ichi and some people say ich, it depends on how fast you're talking in my eyes lol. But, ichi is the correct/formal way. Ich still works though. :3

I have used the following 6 things and have become quite good at Japanese, I can even almost completely understand raw episodes of anime :3
Books:
Beginning Japanese Part 1 by Eleanor Harz Jorden w/ Hamako Ito Chaplin
Beginning Japanese Part 2 by Eleanor Harz Jorden w/ Hamako Ito Chaplin
Reading Japanese by Eleanor Harz Jorden w/ Hamako Ito Chaplin
Those 3 books have been WONDERFUL. They are basically textbooks for a real class and a tab expensive, ($120 in all for me), but they sure have helped a lot. They are good for the basics and more of the language and have been my only guides for the past year now. My Japanese has improved a lot :3
Dictionary:
Websters New World Compact Japanese Dictionary (about 7 dollars)
Other:
http://www.ask.com and then type in "language translations" and from the drop down menu choose Japanese
http://www.japan-guide.com/local/?aCAT=2 <---This is a penpal site, but the general JapanGuide site is VERY useful as well. For anyone learning Japanese and another language, this site is actually for penpals from anywhere in the world.
I'm not sure if anyone has posted any of these already, but if not here they are ^_^

Kokoroki KAMIKAZE GIRLS is coming out soon(i've seen the previews to it , it's really funny!) Eh? Kamikaze Girls has been out for a while now. It's a really good movie, especially for people into sweet lolita. Though I don't suggest ever buying the VCD version of it off of Yesasia.com... the subtitles are really sucky, and don't match the actual words half the time. I've found better fansubs on the internet. neutral 私はとても労々たるている… 私は寝るべきである, しかしこのギルドはとても興味深い! (I hope thats right. haha. My speaking abilities may be fine, but my writing abilities suck.)
