Yuki watched as Ben walked away, and debated seriously opening up a huge can of whop-a** and forcing him to talk to his Zanpacto the hard way. Memories from her first time earning shikai made her blink, she wouldn't wish that on anyone else, but this kid needed to get his share of butt kicking with that kind of attitude.

Thankfully the decision was taken from her as a new arrival to the squad came up. He seemed to have a better grasp of what he was doing, she could tell by the way his riatsu seemed to be held in a more orderly manner than the other two. The kid, Hibiki apparently, asked to be taught Shikai. He didn't even studder. Good on him. She faced him with a blank face.

"You can... The real question is, are you ready for it?"

With a sigh, Yuki decided she really couldn't deny the guy, he appeared ready for it. So she crossed her arms over her chest, and took up a cocky stance that said 'oh really?' as she looked down on him, an acomplishment for someone so short.

"If your ready, then fight me... The best way to get shikai is to be beat withen an inch of your life. So lets get this started... you can even have the first shot."

She said, shifting her stance a little, mostly so she would be more comfortable. Yuki had been captain long enough to know she could beat this kid to hell and back without hardly breaking a sweat.

Are you lunging or slashing? The two are distinctly diffrent, so I'm going to assume your slashing ))

Yuki saw Hibiki coming from a mile away, these days anyone who couldn't use shunpo may as well be standing still. She easily took a step to the side away from his strike. She was going to have to lighten up a little, pushing this kid to his breaking point was going to be too easy, but making it feel like he had a chance of beating her was going to be the hard part. Taking a few more steps away she drew her own blade, and nodded to him.

"Come on... you can do better than that."

((Oh sorry for making it confusing, I meant he lunged forwards like a leap without the height to it and then slashed, not lunging like some fight term >.< Sorry))

Stopping himself as she sidestepped, Hibiki turned to face her again. He hadn't even made her so much as flinch, but it was to be expected of the captain. At her nod and words, he came at her again, his katana sweeping across the ground near her ankles, following it with a slash up at her side.

((Wasn't a case of misunderstanding, more the fact that I don't fight RP much.))

As the slap stung across his face, Hibiki flushed indignantly. She was barely even treating this like a match. As she disappeared from the reach of his attack suddenly he froze looking for the captain. As he felt the stab from behind him he jumped forwards, trying to get out of reach even though it was a bit too late to avoid. Pain shot through him in a flash, and he cringed seeing the wound from the stab as he glanced around his back. Pivoting on the spot, he brought his katana around, swinging it around towards the captain's sword hand since it was out from her previous attack, clenching his teach to keep from thinking about the pain in his back.

As his captain suddenly came at him with the rapid barrage Hibiki brought up his blade in a hurry, trying to fend them off. Parrying the first two blows, he completely missed one that caught him in the side. Coughing up a bit of blood he swung at one coming at his left only to be late for it and have another hit near his shoulder. He started to panic as his vision blurred, and everything went black.

Hibiki-san...

Hibiki-san, you need to get up....


Someone's calling me? But I can't get up, I just can't-

Oh this is it, GET UP!

A sudden jolt went through his entire body as Hibiki's eyes shot open and he hit his head on the ground, not realizing he had been flat on his face. "What in the world?!" He said as he turned to see a shape that seemed like a horse and rider. Squinting as the shapes became clearer he saw that it wasn't a rider but a part of the horse body itself, like a centaur in greek myth, though her skin glistened a gold colour. Her eyes watched him carefully, her long white-ish hair blowing behind her in a non-existant breeze.

Pushing himself off the ground a bit, supporting himself with his elbow he glanced around. he couldn't see anything but a greyish mist around them for what seemed like miles but he couldn't really tell. The ground was smooth and white, and only changed where his head had been, where a few specks of blood were obviously visible. His hand went to his face and felt the warm liquid dripping from his mouth.

Ah, good, your up. You need to be able to concentrate for now so I suggest you listen, She said, speaking calmly. Her expression was unchanging.

Getting to his feet and raising a brow, he asked suspiciously, "Who are you? Where is this? Last I remember I was training with Yukimaru-taichou... and..." He stopped, trying to think.

You still don't know me? That pains me to hear, Hibiki-san, but you will soon enough if you wish to return, She said coolly, sparks flickering around her right hand, coming together as a bolt of lightning. As the form steadied to a spear sized mass she hurled it towards him, the shock of its hit making him fall back to the ground. Staying still will be your downfall. An immobile opponent is an easy target, She said with a slight lilting laugh, another lightning bolt forming in her hand.

Eyes widening Hibiki scrambled to his feet, and looked for his katana, but he saw it nowhere. That's weird, I was sure I had it... As he saw her preparing to throw once more he ran right to dodge the bolt as it crackled by and left a burnt black spot on the floor.

You must embrace this, only then will you know me, and here me say I am ... As she spoke at the end her voice didn't quite reach him, but he knew she said something, as her mouth still moved. Embrace it? How do I... wait a minute... As she threw the bolt in her hand at him he held his ground, and instead of fully dodging sidestepped as it shot by him, reaching out with his hand to hold the bolt as she had. The current rushed through his nerves but clenching his teeth he held on, the lightning began to change into a sword hilt, the rest still flashing.

The centauress smiled, her mask of passiveness removed, and she said, So you finally can hear me. I'll say once more, I am-

Eyes opening again suddenly back in the fight with his captain, his blade shining like it the lightning had. He shouted, "Nepele!" His blade flashed brightly for a second, and then the shine dimmed, his sword a rapier, the hilt a golden colour, the blade needle like and long, sparks flying off of it in every direction. Breathing hard he swayed on his feet.
