It was the first day of band and I was determined to play the flute, the band director brought out the instruments and I saw the saxophone and fell in love not even kiddin, the band director told me to play alto because it was the smallest and apparently I looked like a skrawny kid. I love it and never looked back, biggrin

At my school we don't exactly choose are instruments. We get tested then, then the band directors give us a instrument, and you either play the instrument ya got or be in choir.

Ok. In fifth grade i chose trumpet because it was the only thing that was light enough to hold that i could also play>.<
later that year my current bd Mr.Mooter(no im not kidding that was his name) brought over the bass trumpet from the highschool(i was a fifth grader) and i fell in love with it.Packed up my trump and graduated. Now i have two bass trumpets. My concert band regular brass one and my silver marching one.I love them both.

Well my brother was in band in high school and played barry sax, and me being a six year old thought my brother was super special awesome for being in band. So by the time I was in sixth grade and started band I was like, "I want to play the saxophone." And lo and behold, I love my alto. heart

How did I choose the flute/picc?
I thought the piccollo had the most beautiful sound. In 5th grade, the band director wouldn't let me start on the picc, so I played the flute. At first, I hated it. I always though of flute players as those old ladies in black dresses with their cats and parakeets...
That's when I discovered: The piccollo is the ugliest-sounding, and the BEST, instrument EVER. And the flute makes the most gorgeous sound. So I fell in love. The end.
The piccollo may suck because I suck, but who knows. XD
*squeeeeeak!*

I had chosen the flute because the sound was good and thought to give it a try. I hope my high school band would get more flute players because we have three flute players only.

Well I play seven instruments, but I mostly play three. 1. I chose flute because it looked shiny and weird (I was in 3rd grade). Probably was one of the best decisions of my life. 2. I chose trumpet because it only had three valves which looked easy and because my friend told me it was cool. It's my favourite instrument now. smile 3. I chose violin because I wanted to play at least one string instrument. It turned out that I was pretty good on it.

I really liked the sound of trumpets, and at Bertrands (music) I saw them on display and decided instantly that that was my instrument. I have been playing happily since! smile

I started with trombone but our trumpets sucked so I switched. Now I also play French Horn in band for concert music and trombone in my free time.
