Watching them silently from her corner, Neasa began to plot her escape. They were half-hearted attempts, however. Nothing more than a silly thought that maybe she should point to the other side of the room and scream : "Hey look! A giraffe!" And then jump out the window, or maybe threaten to tickle herself to death if they didn't let her go. Half-hearted and half-insane they may be, but they were keeping a smile on her face and distracting her from the fact that she was basically a hostage to them.

She'd overheard the whole thing about the Rogue's getting Jasper, or whatever the name of the vampire was that Ebony had been attacking. How easily they could use Neasa to trade for Jasper back, but she had a feeling that Alec wouldn't go for it. She may be his only thief and an important member of the team, but Alec wouldn't give up a new toy just to get one back who had failed him.

If only Jess knew! If only she could just open up her mouth and say: "I didn't betray you, you know. I didn't leave my father because I wanted to. I had to leave, I didn't have a choice. You just don't tell someone like Alec no.", but Neasa didn't have the guts to say it, and she didn't want to argue about something like that here with these people. What did they know? They couldn't see their gifts, they only saw a curse. Sure it hurt to become a werewolf, but the freedom, the feeling of it all, couldn't they understand just a little that they had been given something much better than being a simple weak little human?

Then of course there was what Jess had said earlier. She just kept hearing her voice in her head: "Are you going to stay to your promise, Neasa?" What promise?! What did she say so long ago that Jess was going to hold her to!? Whatever it was she was sure that it didn't bode well for her. As stubborn as she was she kept her promises, and what if she had promised Jess something that she couldn't go through with? Something that she had thought was easy as a child but would prove her downfall now?

"Logan don't forget that we still have a Rogue here.. what are we going to do about her?" Neasa's head snapped up, eyes widening at Jess's words. Of course she had heard that soft sentence, her ears were stronger than a normal werewolf, probably another effect of being born into that life and not created. She wouldn't blame them if they decided to use her to trade, she really wouldn't, but if that's what they decided she wasn't going to let them.

Alaric slowly became conscious of a lot of noise coming from somewhere in the warehouse. He sat bolt upright, ears straining. It sounded like a fight. Damn! How could he have slept through something like that! He leaped up, quickly strapping his scabbard to his hip and drawing the blade. He opened the door and was greeted by smoke. Coughing, he raced out into it, now hearing sirens from outside. The police!? What was going on?

There was a very strong blood smell in the room, and even though he couldn't see it, he knew it had to be everywhere. There were two blood trails leaving the room. The blood smelled too fresh to be vampiric. They had to be Lycan trails. He picked the one going out the back door and followed the smell a little ways, carefully staying out of the humans' line of sight. He took his time, making sure he was completely hidden and keeping a careful lookout for enemies. Thankfully the sun was going down, so he could stick to shadows and didn't have to endure its harsh rays.

The trail only took him down the street about three blocks. He followed the trail to a broken window, and heard voices inside. He crept up and listened. They weren't very close to the window and they were talking softly, so he couldn't hear much, but Logan's smell was definitely present. Alaric then ducked in through the window, confronted by Jess and Logan speaking softly, the new girl and the Cure sitting on one side, an injured Lycan who was named something starting with an A, and the owner of the blood trail. She was a Lycan he didn't recognize. A Rogue and a trueborn Lycan by her smell. He almost bared his fangs by sheer habit, but held them back.

He approached Logan and bowed his head, though it galled him greatly. "My apologies for missing the battle. I see we have the Cure and diminished numbers. What's our status?"

Logan looked over at Alice sadly. He had been hoping for a few minutes to talk to her before things got out of hand again, but it looked like he had already lost his chance. He sighed and stood up, leaving the blanket behind.
“Jess,” Logan whispered at her side, placing a supportive hand on her shoulder. “I promise that I will get Jasper back.”
Logan wiped away a silvery track from her tears and gave her a weak smile before walking over to Neasa. He knelt down in front of the young Lycan and sighed.
“Alec likes to rope them in young. I was your age when he found me, too.”
Logan placed his hands on his knees to steady himself. The chill of the water was still cutting through him and he felt like he could pass out at any moment. But for now he had to stay alert and strong because that was what was expected of him.
“Regardless of your age, however, I really should treat you like any other Rouge. The only reason I haven’t tied you up yet is because I have no record of you ever hurting anybody. You are just a thief as I recall. So I have two questions for you, Neasa. Number one: why are you here if you are only a thief? And two: What would you do with the enemy in your home if you were in my position?”
Logan did get his answer, however, because Jess suddenly came running up to him. She held out her cell phone.
“It’s Syvra.”
Logan snatched the phone and held it up to his ear.
“Syvra, are you alright?” he asked quickly.
“Yes, I’m fine. But you? Where is everyone?”
“I can explain everything later. Just get over here as quickly as possible. I don’t want to risk any Rouges finding you.”
Logan gave Syvra the location of the hideout and the two said their curt goodbyes. With a heavy intake of breath he turned back to Neasa. But again he was cut off as this time Alaric approached him. Logan breathed another sigh of relief. So things were not as bad as they had previously seemed.
“Many of us are missing, all of us are tired, and a woman managed to carry of Jasper. The fact that they are keeping him alive is a nice thought but not at all comforting.” He gestured to Neasa.
“And now we have her.”
Logan crouched down in front of the female Rouge for the third time.
“I apologize. Now, where were we?”

((Fear my longest post EVER.))

Neasa stiffened up when Logan walked over, gritting her teeth together tightly inside her skull. 'Well, here it comes... They're gonna kill me.' She thought to herself, but instead of trying to move, she only braced herself for it. After all, it's what the Rogue's would have done if they were in Logan's position; but instead of doing what she had expected, he knelt infront of her and sighed.

She couldn't help it, she quirked her head to the side like a puppy would, twitching an eyebrow in response and watched with widened eyes. He may not have been born a lycan, but he had been one for awhile, and being older it kind of switched the button on her instincts to view him almost as an alpha, even if he wasn't the alpha of her own little pack. “Alec likes to rope them in young. I was your age when he found me, too.” He said, but then he seemed to waver a second, kind of like he was feeling weak.

You have no idea, She found herself thinking in response, but she didn't say it outloud. I can't remember how long, but I've been with the Rogue's for at least a year or more. Neasa thought, inadvertenly quirking her head the other way, still looking like a little puppy and not like a full grown werewolf at all. “Regardless of your age, however, I really should treat you like any other Rouge." Logan said, snapping her out of her mental conversatio. 'Oh crap.' Was all she could manage to think in response, because now he was probably going to kill her.

"The only reason I haven’t tied you up yet is because I have no record of you ever hurting anybody. You are just a thief as I recall." He continued, and it made Neasa give him a surprised look, one eyebrow raising high. 'Wait, they don't kill the ca... nevermind, that doesn't matter, I'm just happy I'm not getting killed!' She thought happily, thanking the fact suddenly that she was completely unable to kill anyone. Looks like it was going to save her hide for once instead of put it in danger.

Still, he didn't look like he was done speaking, so Neasa shouldn't go smiling and giving her thoughts away just yet. "So I have two questions for you, Neasa. Number one: why are you here if you are only a thief? And two: What would you do with the enemy in your home if you were in my position?” Well, weren't those two very difficult questions? She furrowed her eyebrows and looked down from his face to the hands resting on his knees for balance, inadvertently studying them while she was thinking.

Neasa couldn't come up with anything at first, and luckily for her he got interupted by a phone call. She almost snorted when he said something about Rogue's finding whoever was on the other side of the phone. Even if the Syvra woman didn't run into any Rogue's out there, there was one right here. Still, it was a very informative phone call for Neasa, because now she knew exactly where she was... not like she could ever use that information, though...

Just as Logan had turned back to her, and her heart had jumped because instead of thinking she had been listening, she was thankfully given even more time by the arrival of yet another one of the Cursed jumping through the same window she had stupidly crashed through. The Cursed member walked over to Logan, which inadvertanly brought him closer to Neasa, and she watched him warily. "My apologies for missing the battle. I see we have the Cure and diminished numbers. What's our status?" He said, and without wanting it to her heart jumped up and lodged itself in the back of her throat.

It took all of her willpower not to express her emotions in her eyes, to only glance over at the Cursed and then back over at Logan. Outwardly she was calm, and though her heart had jumped up she forced it to slow itself down and hoped that no one had noticed it, and if they did they only thought the reaction had been over something else. Still, instide of her mind she was screaming in a mixture of anger and fear, 'NOOOO! HOW STUPID WAS I?! THEY HAVE THE CURE ALREADY?!' She screamed mentally, letting out a long string of mental curses 'Of course! The human girl! How stupid WAS I?! This isn't FAIR! I don't WANT to be human!'

She forced herself to calm down while Logan talked to the newcomer. 'You know what this means, Neasa... It seems like they haven't realized yet that you know, but someones bound to realize that the idiot over there stated they have the Cure...' She glanced up at the human girl, what had they called her? Alice? And then back down at Logan's hands where she had been looking earlier, but her eyes were out of focus as she thought. Being the only Rogue here, the only one who knew, she would have to carry out the objective and kill her... but she COULDN'T kill anyone, she'd never really even been able to bring herself to hurt anyone because of her empathy, so what to do?

This was too big for her to handle, she had to focus on the questions Logan had asked. Just act on instinct, human emotions and thoughts always confused her anyway. While the thought of the Cure was important, it needed to be put aside for now. The questions needed to be answered. It was obvious why she was here, but what would she do if she were in his shoes?

Neasa chocked down a stupid thought of buying better shoes and flinched slightly when Logan gestured towards her, forcing her to pay attention to him again. She blinked in surprise when he apologized, it was strange to be back around someone who didn't randomly have fits of blind and violent rage. "It's OK?" She questioned, raising an eyebrow at him, her voice softer than normal and slightly confused. "You wanted to know why I was here, and what I'd do if I were you." She explained, voice still softer and still slightly confused.

As an example, Neasa held up her left hand, showing her broken wrist. "I was forced to come, actually. I told one of the other Rogues not to kill them," She motioned with her head towards Alice and Rosen, "And because I distracted him he was stabbed in the eye. Needless to say he got very angry and forced me to go after them, with..." She paused now, frowning. "With orders to kill them." She finished, her voice going softer again, betraying compleltely her relucance to even think about actually having to kill someone.

She looked over at Jess now and tried to catch her eye just by staring at her. Why couldn't anyone here see that she really wasn't going to hurt them? Even if they had the Cure, she could never beging to really consider the thought of killing the girl to stop her... then again, she had promised herself to do anything within her power to stop anyone from taking her werewolfhood away from her, and though killing was technically within her power, she still couldn't bring herself to do it.

Neasa turned her attention back to that calm looking face, wondering why it bothered her so much. Maybe in her almost two years she had grown used to half insane people who didn't really mean it when they acted nice? Sure, Sky was somewhat fun to be around, but he was still murderous underneath. "I'm not sure what I would do if I were you, to be truthful... If I were Sky, or Alec, or Ebony, or even Ronin... I would probably have killed me by now, but... I'm not sure what I would do I'm just a thief, remember? My only hostages tend to be inanimate objects." She explained, her voice soft and throughtful at first, but she'd snorted slightly in a half laugh at the end. It was no time for jokes, but she'd been unable to help herself.

In answer to Ebony's questions, Ronin merely gave a quick glare to Ebony via the rear view mirror and then turned his glare back to the outside world and Sky shook his head and shrugged, with a small cheeky smirk ghosting on his face. Ebony huffed and crossing arms she gave an uncharacteristic pout and copied Ronin's motions of glaring out the window. This was great, Ebony thought to herself, no casualties and Sky, she guessed had failed his mission. Now the Hummer was weaving its way through city centre traffic and the assault of both loud car horns and fumes from exhausts assaulted Ebony's sensitive nose and ears. Ebony didn't hate these features of the city, it was necessary for the great metropolis to function. The clamor and the chaos formed the orderly society she had grew up in and she called home, never had she seen a sky uncorrupted by a dark smog of pollution or a rolling green field beyond the small dingy parks of the city. The desire had never formed to go and see these pure forms of nature, and Ebony had decided that the big blue skies and lush green fields would be a waste of space and deep down it was a frightening thought. Imagine to get lost there, and travel aimlessly in a seemingly never ending emptiness, one would surely go mad.

Stretching her arms out forward, Ebony dismissed her foolish thoughts and cracked her knuckles. The tallest building in this labyrinth now loomed overhead, and Ebony could almost sense Alec's presence on the top floor, looking down at their arrival. Suddenly feeling small and utterly unprepared, Ebony begin to bite her lower lip in anxiousness. Soon the Hummer had stopped in the underground garage and both Ronin and Sky were getting out and slamming the cars doors behind them. Still chewing her lip Ebony grabbed a hold of Jasper and slid him out. Lifting him onto her shoulder Ebony clucked her tongue in distaste as a splatter of blood landed on her black business suit jacket. A ding then echoed throughout the car park, and Ebony hurried to the arrived elevator, the uneven tempo of the sound of her shoes on the cement, were testament to her heavy burden. Quickly stepping in between Ronin and Sky, Ebony waited for the doors to shut. The lift began it's ascent into the building and glancing over at the glowing button Ebony made sure it was for Alec's level, which was the highest number. Waiting then in the lift, Ebony tried to keep her mind off of Alec's response and listened instead to the music playing in the elevator. Adjusting Jasper on her shoulder Ebony looked down at her ankle, deep scratches had made it bleed, and now her shoes were probably ruined too. The female Rogue almost growled, that was until the elevator arrived, and stepping out first, Ebony walked down the corridor and to Alec's office, closely followed by the two other Rogue's. Knocking on the heavy walnut door Ebony waited for Alec to either call them in or open the door himself.

Alec stood at his window as the sun fell below the horizon, its final rays slicing bloody trails across the dark sky. The large pale moon rose to take its place, and for a moment the two titans shone together before the sun exploded in a flash of rosy hues. And then the moon and shadow were all that was left, though the bustling city tried foolishly to banish it with their artificial lights.
Alec turned away from the window, letting the crimson curtain fall back in place to drown the room in darkness. The candles had long since burned themselves out, but a quick trip around the room easily fixed that. Once the task was finished he dropped into his chair at his desk and stared at the torn strip of paper that had been lying there taunting him all day.
The words on the page had been written by his brother many years ago, but only recently had Alec acquired the page. It had not been meant for his eyes, but Alec had taken it anyway. After all, siblings should share.
This scrap of torn paper, however vital it may be to him, had caused him much frustration and he despised looking at it as much as he could not keep it away.
You were right Logan. I wish it weren’t true, but you were right. I looked through all the old books and they all say the same thing. There is no record of the original Cure ever being killed. He only disappeared.
Logan, you

But the rest was torn away, whether by accident or to keep it from prying eyes such as his he did not know. Alec glared at the ripped edge, mottled brown from specs of blood long dried. What did it mean?
Only Logan could tell him. Only that little runt knew.
A knock at his door was as good excuse as any to shove the paper back in the desk. Alec tore his gaze away from the drawer it had been locked away in and stood up to walk around to the other side of the desk.
“Come in,” Alec said breezily, planting a hand on the desk. If they didn’t know better, the Rouges entering the room might think he was tired and using the desk for support. But they did know him better, and they knew better then to underestimate him.
“I see that Neasa has been killed in battle. How tragic.” His tone was dry. He looked bored, but his eyes were on the body balanced on Ebony’s shoulder.
“I believe she is only missing, sir,” Ronin corrected.
Alec peered up at the man through his shock of white hair. “Dead,” he stated firmly.
He clasped his hands together and stood up straight. “Now, how did your little raid go? I see you have brought me back something.” His voice was light and conversational but his gaze was nothing of the sort. “Tell me everything.”

Logan chuckled lightly.
“Yes well, than I suppose I’m asking the wrong person now aren’t I?”
He eyed Neasa’s broken wrist.
“Well I thank you for the sacrifice of your wrist. The people that you spared mean quite a lot to me. Though I can’t say I feel sorry for your friend’s injury. He had it coming to him, if you ask me.”
Logan waved a hand, gesturing for Rosen. The vampire came over, giving an unsure look in Neasa’s direction.
“Yes Logan?”
“Can you fix up this woman’s wrist, please? An eye for an eye works both ways, I think.”
Rosen nodded and knelt at Neasa’s side. The woman shied away from her, but she grabbed the wrist anyway, gently of course.
“It doesn’t need to be set. You are lucky.”
As quickly as she could, Rosen wrapped up the wrist and nodded curtly. Logan thanked her quietly as she left.
“Well I’m not going to kill you, Neasa the thief, but I can’t very well let you run around freely, however nice you may seem at the moment. Trust me, I have slept with nicer woman that have tried to stab me in the morning.” Logan laughed, rubbing a scar on his arm wistfully. “Actually, it would happen more often then you’d think. Alec has an odd sense of humor.”
Logan smiled wryly, but when he looked around the expression melted away.
“I hope you don’t take this too personally Neasa, but I’m going to have to tie you to something before I go to sleep, which should be soon if I get my way.”

Walking into the dark room Ebony's heart began to pound and she could smell smoke and melted wax, reminders of just who her boss was. Alec spoke and his tone of voice was deceptive at best and Ebony could see a carefully veiled eagerness in his eyes to hear how the raid had gone. Gulping Ebony looked to Sky, and she frowned as he began to examine the dirt under his nails. "Well Sir" Ebony said, shifting her weight from one foot to another "the Cursed seemed quite well prepared for our assault, they were all well armed and in positions that made it difficult for our attack sir. I think they may have known about our arrival" Glancing at Alec, Ebony could see the signs of disapproval mar his face, and hurriedly she continued "however, as you can see I captured the vampire Jasper as per request. I myself managed to injure another vampire I believe is called Jess...but otherwise, that is all I managed to accomplish. My deepest apologies sir. " Ebony had her eyes downcast, and she bowed her head down to further demonstrate her regret at her 'lack' of accomplishments. She waited a moment, and her hair came down in two black curtains on either side of her face, she waited for Alec to comment but it did not appear he would.

Raising her head Ebony flicked her silver hued eyes between the other Rogue's accompanying her, it was then that Ebony realized the hole she had dug for herself. Giving a small smirk however, Ebony looked back to Alec once again, and with new found confidence finished her part of the report with a strong and determined air in all she said. "I believe that all Cursed who participated in the fight, were injured and the nest is most definitely in a state of disarray. Though, as far as I know, no Cursed were killed in the strike, but the other Rogue's will have to account for that themselves." Ebony paused and gave a quick cocky glance to both Ronin and Sky, continuing she said "my priority was the capture of the vampire Jasper. May I also suggest a pre-emptive strike on the nest? They may not expect us so soon after the last raid, this could be our chance to wipe this nest out entirely. If you think it best, sir."

Neasa looked at her wrist, carefully probing it with a figer as iff testing it. Maybe walking on it in werewolf form had forced it back into place, that had happened once when her father broke his right ankle when she was young. He'd gotten so stubborn that he kept walking on it, and when she finally forced him to the hospitial the doctor didn't even need to set it. She kind of missed her dad... He was probably OK though, he had never really seemed like he cared too much before when she'd go missing for a day or so at a time, so what would a year matter?

Neasa looked over at the group and raised an eyebrow, the smile an almost lopsided smirk. "Can't say I blame you for wanting to tie me up, just don't get too rough, OK? I'm not exactly into all that kinky stuff." She joked, flashing her teeth as she let out a slight chuckle. Might as well make herself comfortable while she could, and heck, if she wall lucky they might just appreciate her sense of humor.

Syvra was frustrated. She'd called Logan but she hadn't told him what she'd meant to say. She'd talked to Logan and gotten their current location, but she'd said good bye and hung up before she realized what she'd done. She cursed and redialed the number. She hoped at least someone would answer it. Despite the fact that she knew the city like the back of her hand and she'd lived on the street for a couple years and her muscles were toned, she was tiring and the Hummer was moving into increasingly populated territory. The phone rang and rang, and she urged someone to pick it up, anyone, hopefully Logan or Jess. "Come on...come on...come on!" she breathed, her eyes never straying from the Hummer as it drove on. But even as the phone rang, the Hummer drove into an underground parking lot connected to one of the biggest skyscrapers in the city. Syvra almost couldn't believe it. The people who had kidnapped Jasper were Rouges. But why would they want Jasper? The phone kept ringing in her ear and finally, she snapped and yelled, "Answer DAMMIT!" despite the fact that somebody had already picked up.

Sky gingerly pressed his back to the wall, one foot propping him up as his head lolled gently to the side. Only now was he actually feeling the aftermath of his brawl with Logan. The chill in the room exacerbated rather than soothe his bruises and at least one of his cuts had reopened, thanks to his gyrating out of the warehouse.

His eyes lowered to a deceptively slumberous gaze as Ebony delivered her goods to Alec, all of them, and a slow breath clawed into this lungs. Sky had his fun and now there would be hell to pay, that much was clear, but at least he'd known enough to text his ward on the way up. It was simple, concise and entirely charged with meaning.

Kid Get Lost.

He still wasn't sure why he kept shielding the boy from Alec but the one thing the lycan had been able to count on all of his life was instinct. It was buried deep in his marrow and mingled with his blood; he never made a move contrary to that little voice. The little voice had told him to team up with the vampire that muggy summer night, despite the glaring reasons not to, and the now it was speaking to him again...

"I see."

Alec murmured and Sky could feel the baneful glare that was aimed his way. He looked up but the vampire was still looking at Ebony.

"So you failed...again."

He nodded once, body straightening from the wall of it's own volition.

"They have the cure."

Even as Sky said that, at the back of his mind he distantly wondered whether he had a death wish or any particular fixation on causing himself pain.

As Logan was talking to Neasa, Jess' cell phone began to ring and again...only those in the group knew her number..so she fumbled to open it and said, "Hello?" It was Syvra, she was running. Jess ran up to Logan with the phone to hand, "It's Syvra." He grabbed it quickly and began talking to her and told her their location and they hung up. She took back her phone and put it in her pocket and began to walk away. She heard someone jump in the window behind her and she wiped around, expecting another Rouge, but it was just Alaric, "My aplogies for missing the battle. I see we have the Cure and diminished numbers. What's our status?" he asked. Logan sighed and looked up at him and said, "Many of us are missing, all of us are tied, and a woman managed to carry off Jasper. The fact that they are keeping him alive is a nice thought but not at all comforting." Jess winced at the words, she just wanted to get there and save him. Alaric walked over to a couch and sat down and Jess went to the kitchen and rumaged around in the cabinet, trying to see what they still had there. Logan continued to talk to Neasa for what seemed forever. She felt Neasa look at her, but she was still angry so she just went back and sat at the foot of the bed again. Logan called for Rose to come fix the girl's wrist and soon after she heard him say, "I hope you don't take this too personally Neasa, but I'm going to have to tie you to something before I go to sleep, which should be soon if I get my way."

With that Jess stood up and walked over to the cabinet underneath the kitchen sink and got out some rope and threw it to Logan. "Here..." Once she threw the rope, Neasa said, "Can't say I blame you for wanting to tie me up, just don't get to rough, okay? I'm not exactly into that kinky stuff." Jess laughed, "..hah..Maybe she isn't completely changed since the last time I saw her..that's something I would've said.." Jess was snapped out of her thoughts by her phone ringing, again, and she dug into her pocket and answered and heared, "Answer DAMNIT" on the other side. "Woah...Syvra? Where are you? Why aren't you here yet?...Should I come and get you?.."

Jess stood there with the phone to her ear, with a very confused look on her face. "God I hope she saw where they brought Jasper.."
