Norin comes into play under your control, at the end of your turn. If you're using something that forces you to swap Norin for one of your opponent's creatures, then Norin is going to be given to your opponent. Unless something (like the Legend Rule) destroys Norin afterward, your opponent is going to have control of Norin on his next turn. And all your opponent has to do is attack with Norin, since Norin even scares himself away, and at the end of that turn you'll be getting Norin back in exchange for whatever you just stole, or one of your own if you've got something better.
Confusion in the Ranks favors whoever can put out more creatures, whether Norin's there or not. The combo with Norin might be a good complement to a token generation deck, but on its own it doesn't give a lasting advantage.

The combo with Norin might be a good complement to a token generation deck, but on its own it doesn't give a lasting advantage. If I get you right you say that my opponent is going to use Norin the way I do? Why is that?
Norin don't change owner, Magic don't allow the use of Ante any more, and especially not the kind of "speed ante" that would be... No, after that Norin "runs away", the owner (aka the one that played him) will get him back, no matter who had him when he did. He changes controller with Confusion in the Ranks not owner. So, no, they can not by attacking steal a critter of yours at the end of turn... And all you need to do is make sure that there is a spell played or something that attacks, that way you'll have his critters in no time. ^^
But to agree with your argument, yeah, I will get him back, since I am the owner. ^^

Mylian Nevermind, I'm an idiot. sweatdrop It's ok, it's better if you actually post these things, and can be proven wrong. That is something that I have done some times, it gives in the end a better understanding of some of the rules. ^^

ShadowAssasin87 The only crappy card I can think of is Guilty Consicne. It is white. "When enchanter creature deals combat damage that creature deals the same damage to itself. Stuffy Doll FTW! DestroX man, that card ain't crappy. it's saved me many times. now a crappy card is Cuombajj Witches ok, uh, what about, spirit link? gain 2 life, at the possible cost of 1 life? sure it's not as good as the orcish, where it deals three damage then two to you, for a net gain of 3 but hey, take what you can get right? The revised Jesus Icatian Javelineers.... w when Icatian Javelineers i brought into play, put a javelin counter on it t: remove the javelin counter to have it deal 1 damage to any target thats not that bad of a card, granted there are like, 3000 that are better, but a 1/1 for 1 that you can use once as a prody then it becomes a meatwall or a weenie isn't that bad. OK, now there's a useless card, its' not bad though, it's jsut useless. theres no point to play it, not because it could cause you to lose the game, but because the likelihood of it doing you any good is almost nil. you've got to be kidding me, same thing here as the Icatian, except that this hits only a player becoming a plain weenie. alpha impervius Blue: Pale Moon Black: Filthy Cur I can't think of anythign for the pale moon...Ritual of Subdual works more effectively... Filthy Cur, ok, you got me there..... Serpent warrior? uh, well, its' effect only works when its played from the hand, so, reanimation would help, or, you know, pay the life turn two, attack turn three.... hmm, i think i have enough cards now.....

I thought of a use for filthy cur.
B/W deck, running pestilence, darien, filthy curs, and a few blessing of the conclave.
B all creature take a damage, the curs cause you to suffer damage, giving you 1/1 soldiers in addition to the 1/1 soldiers you recieved from darien.
the cur's toughness is raised, lather rince repeat as you desire, you get some 2/large curs and a s**t ton of soldiers. throw in a few feild marshals so you can do it a few timeseach turn.

Break open? doesn't that flip one creature an opponent controls with morph face up? what about, donate? 1) What card with morph hurts the controller of the morph creature. 2) Min of 6 mana going into something that's, how you say, a crappy combo. If you're not adding Donate to the Brake open lost cause then I have to say...Donate is a very good card. For a couple of reasons. 1) Measure of Wickedness 2) Bronze Bombshell 3) Delusions of Mediocrity And many more cards.
