Kanis nods, "Oh I see...that is cool...I wonder if I have any natural talent." she said and looked at her father's back. "Oh wow! They are so real! Dad must have sat still a long time...with mom sitting on him." she giggled loudly, "Maybe Kanis should try painting."

Niyana laughed, "I am very glad you like the color, I will try hard to be fast....but try to stay still dear." she smiled and started to drip a brush into paint. "We can do it in short parts so you can move around."

Joruri tilted his head confused at why she was telling him it was alright. But when she smiled at Ruran he lowered his wing a bit. He had been too quick to judge. He sighed, "If mistress Idhril wishes Joruri to go then he will go to school."

Ruran nods, "You said you would make something up just for me." he smiled brightly at her and unhooked his top shirt tossing it on the ground next to him then he pulled off his fishnet shirt setting it down too. "I am sure I would love what ever you would make me Aunt...Your so wonderful!"

Aras heard Kanis suggest that she try painting, and she headed over and grinned at her. "You can paint on me if you want," she said eagerly. "I bet you'll be good at it!"

She looked at her hands and then down at her clothes. "Where do you want it?"

Jair grinned at Niyana. "I'll do my best!" he promised - and he planted his hands on his fins and sat still so that she could start to paint.

Idhril smiled at Joruri warmly. "You don't have to come," she told him softly. "If you're waiting for me at home when I come back, it will give me something more to look forward too, anyways." And she squeezed his hand and turned back to Ruran.

She smiled brightly at her nephew. "Well you're very eager ... and you like to go from one place to another ... like a leaf on the wind ... would you like if I gave you something like that?"

Kanis laughed, "I don't think I will be good at it I am sure Ruque will be the best at it, but mom said we should practice on leaves or rocks first." She smiled and moved to pick up a large leaf as big as her. then another, "Here you go Aras!"

Niyana smiled proudly, "I am sure you will do a great job!" she carefully started to paint her hand moving as quickly and as skillfully as she could, as she mapped out the outline of the dragon.

Joruri nods and was going to reply when his mistress started talking to Ruran. He just looked down in a in very quiet voice said, "I will wait for you always mistress..."

Ruran smile and takes Idrhil's finger in his hand. "My body is your canvas Aunt Idhril...paint what you wish on it." he smiles and leans his head down to kiss her finger. "I trust you." he turned his back to her so she could see and be inspired.

He looked at Joruri from the corner of his eyes. It was a look at could kill. He vowed that some way he would make this horrid creature...this thing that should not even exist regret ever trying to be human. He hated him and he would make his aunt see that she deserved and needed a real elf!

Aras smiled and took the leaf from Kanis. "Thank you!" she said happily. She looked around a bit, then inched closer to her sister. "Do you think it matters what brush we use?" she asked anxiously. "They're all really big ... I don't even know if I would be able to control it right ..."

Jair giggled and tried his best not to move for Niyana. "That tickles!" he exclaimed, his green eyes sparkling with merriment.

Ruque watched his mother closely, noting how she held the brush and how she made the lines. He wanted to do a good job when he did his own painting, and he knew that he would learn from watching her.

Idhril was blessed with the hearing of her kind, and she smiled warmly, hearing Joruri's words, though Ruran had taken her finger so she couldn't turn to face him again.

She blushed, both from Joruri's words and from the kiss, and when Ruran turned around she reached for a brush and some paint. What should she paint on him?

She thought about it for a bit. What would suit him? Something about his personality ... she knew little about him, save that he was very nice to her. Perhaps ... something peaceful. Yes.

She brushed a curved line down his spine, thick at the top, thin at the bottom, and gave it veins going out to the sides, ending it with the hint of a border.

A leaf. Floating on the wind. Like him. Wandering from one place to another, never sitting in one place for long.

Kanis looked thoughtful..."Well mother does have some thin light looking brushes...we can try those then if they do not work I am sure we can find something to use...." she looked up at Celebor, "Dad...what can we use to paint?"

Niyana laughed and nods, "I know it does tickle a bit but your doing great...though it might be hard to fill him in fully if your keep almost squirming." She smiled and finished the lines of the outside and cleaned her brush dipping it into a black color dye and moving to give the dragon eyes. before she figured out the best way to give details to the dragon on a ticklish boy.

Ruran saw her blush and smiled. He would have his aunt one day. She would be his. He was determined now and what he painted on her would be proof of it.

But for how he sat still allowing her to paint on him with the cold paints and the soft brush.

Joruri watched his mistress paint. She had great skill he could see that and he flushed. He knew with her hands she could fix or make anything. He was truly blessed to have had her fallen upon him.

Celebor smiled down at his daughters. So opposite in looks, not quite so opposite in personality, and both of them sweet enough to give him cavities.

"What if you just try using your mother's smaller brushes for today," he suggested warmly, "and tomorrow, after your visitors are gone, your mother and I can go about making brushes that are just your size?"

Aras's eyes grew wide. "You can do that?" she gaped.

Jair giggled. "I can sit still!" he promised - and he took a deep breath and puffed out his chest, holding his breath so that it wouldn't tickle as badly.

Idhril was blissfully unaware of Ruran's thoughts, and she finished the leaf by painting in the middle with a dark green. It was a simple design, quickly finished, and she sat back soon enough and smiled at Ruran, then up at Joruri.

"Finished!" she said brightly.

Kanis' eyes lit up, "Really you will make us our own?" She clapped her hands, "That is wonderful...we better practice Aras..." she moved to pick up one of the smaller brushes and dipped it into some paint.

Niyana nods, "Very good job!" she smiled and started to fill in details, scale patterns and claws, she worked even quicker trying to not keep her little friend to long. "Almost done...your doing awesome!"

Ruran looked over his shoulder, "All done already aunt?" he looked at her a bit sadden that her touching him was so brief. He smiled though and turned to face her. "Then it is my turn to paint you right?"

Joruri was really now not liking the feeling he was getting from Ruran.

Celebor chuckled. "Of course we will," he said warmly. "It would be wonderful if you all could paint as well, and though I'm not expecting all of you to have natural talent it's even just fun to try ... and when you learn to write, elvish is a lot easier to write with a brush."

Aras grinned and also reached for one of the smaller brushes. "That sounds neat, Daddy," she told him brightly. "Maybe we can start learning tomorrow, when Grandmama and Uncle Jair and Aunt Idhril and Joruri are gone again?"

She glanced over at Kanis. "What do you say? Wouldn't it be nice to learn to read? And then we can read Daddy's stories all by ourselves! But Daddy can still read to us too sometimes because it's nice to have Daddy read to us."

She giggled and dipped her brush in some paint.

Jair's breath ran out and he let it out slowly, careful not to move for Niyana, then took another deep breath and held it again. He was going to make sure not to spoil this picture - he was so looking forward to it, and he knew that as long as he sat still it would be the best picture ever!

Elnara laughed. "I've never seen him sit this still for anyone or anything before," she told Niyana with an amused smile. "You must have some sort of magic or something."

She was only half teasing. It was a miracle that Jair was sitting this still - though it was also a testament to how badly he wanted this picture to be perfect on him.

Ruque smiled brightly up at Niyana. "That looks so beautiful, Mama," he said warmly, his green eyes shining in admiration. "Can you maybe teach me how to do that someday? I don't think I could do it yet ..."

But maybe she would let him try, he would like that ...

Idhril nodded and set the brush down. "It's nothing fancy," she told Ruran softly, somewhat ashamed that her painting could not reach the same level as Niyana's, "so it doesn't take long ... I'm sorry. But yes, you can paint me if you would like."

She looked over her body, trying to find a place where her nephew would be able to not only reach, but have a decent surface to paint on. He was so small ...

"I know," she beamed. "You can paint on my foot, on the top of my foot! How does that sound? Or my ankle if you prefer that."

And she held out her leg, once again making sure that Celebor's large shirt covered all of her that needed covering.

Kanis flushed and nods, "I will try to paint well for you dad." she nodded and looked at her sister, "Oh that is wonderful yes dad please teach us how to read and write too, that way we can send letters to find us trainers and read stories when you can't read to us.

Niyana laughed warmly, "You are doing great Jair...we are almost done." With out missing a stroke she nods, "Its not magic...its the power of art and this dragon is going to look far better than the ones on Celebor if Jair keeps this still!"

She looked down at her son and blushed she didn't know he had been watching her. "You've got it Ruque...though if you are like me everything you paint on that is not flesh then it will suck so you can paint on your mama to try if you like." She smiled warmly at him then continued painting Jair. She was almost done with it just a few more strokes.

Ruran smiles and nods, "I am sure it if very beautiful you are a wonderful artist aunt." He nods moving over to grab some brown and black paint and the thrid smallest brush (The first two having been picked by his sisters). He moved closer to her leg and his eyes scaned up her leg to see as much of it as he could before he knelt down and started to paint.

Celebor smiled warmly at Kanis and reached out to ruffle her bright hair affectionately.

"And I will also do my best to find you a good trainer as soon as I can," he promised.

Jair peered down at Niyana's work and grinned proudly. "It looks really good!" he exclaimed happily.

Ruque smiled widely, his ears reddening slightly at her encouragement and the offer to let him practice on her, and he nodded and tightened his fists around the brush he was holding.

"I'll practice lots and I'll get real good, just like you, Mama!" he promised with a grin.

Idhril looked over at Joruri to see if he was feeling left out, and she smiled at him and put one hand over his, then leaned forward and looked over her knee to see what Ruran was painting on her foot.

"What are you making?" she asked her nephew eagerly.

Kanis giggled as her hair was ruffled. "Thank you dad I will not let you down no mater what the training or how hard it is!"

Niyana finished the last few strokes at would make it look like the dragon was shifting and its wings would apear almost to flap as Jair moved, "There you are hun....I hope he is what you thought he would be like."

She turned to Ruque and nonds, "I am sure you will be able to out do me one day dear one." She said and smiled and looked over herself, " Well lets see the top of my hands are all yours to paint on?" she moved her hand to lay it flat on the ground in front of her son.

Joruri turned his gaze from Ruran to Idhril and his hand turned up to wrap his long fingers over her hand.

Ruran looked up his hand at work on chains that were licking all around Idhril's ankle. He was only 1/3 the way done with it. "Don't look Aunt I want it to be special."

Celebor smiled warmly at Kanis, his eyes shining brightly.

"I'm very proud of you," he told her warmly. "I could ask no more."

Jair's eyes opened wide and he grinned, looking down at his chest and belly, and trying to peer over his shoulders.

"So neat!" he exclaimed happily. "Thanks!" And he flapped his wings gently, showing off to his mother.

Ruque smiled and moved to stand beside his mother's hand. He stuck his tongue out of the corner of his mouth in concentration, then looked up at Niyana thoughtfully.

"What should I paint, Mama?" he asked her.

Idhril blinked at Ruran, but she giggled and smiled. Surprises were always fun!

"Okay," she agreed, and she stopped trying to peek. She felt Joruri's hand tightening around hers, and she smiled and squeezed it back, adjusting her grip so that she could hold it better.

Kanis beamed brightly at her father before going back to practice her painting, "How are you doing Aras?"

Niyana smiled warmly, "Very glad you like it Jair." She leaned down and kissed the top of Jair's head, "Just paint what is in your heart....shut your eyes and think for a min if you don't know. I am sure it will come too...and if not you could draw a flower or vines."

Ruran continued to paint. It was a bit childish but around her ankle was a chain with a small brown heart lock. "Alright aunt you can look now"

Joruri could not paint on Idhril he had no skill.

Aras looked up at her sister when she heard her question, and she frowned softly.

"I've made a discovery," she stated flatly. "No, two ... first, that I'm not much good at this."

She held up her leaf, which had no discernible image on it but patches of colours that were little more than a mess.

"And second," she went on, her frown growing stronger now, "that paint tastes gross!" And she stuck out her tongue, which had a bright green streak across its tip.

Celebor couldn't help it - he burst into laughter before reaching over and wiping Aras's tongue with his thumb.

"How did you manage that?" he asked, still chuckling with amusement.

"I ma' a mi'kake a' I ha' ge' wi' o' i'," Aras replied sourly around her father's thumb. "A' i' wa' yucky!"

Ruque closed his eyes and smiled faintly, and it was only a moment later that he looked up at Niyana once more. "Can I use more than one colour, Mama?" he asked her softly. "I think I know what I want to do ..."

Idhril smiled and leaned forward once more to peer at the painting that was now all around her ankle.

"Aww, it's so sweet!" she exclaimed, holding her foot out in front of her so that she could see it better. "Thank you, Ruran! You're such a sweet boy!"

She smiled brightly and turned to face Joruri. "Would you like to paint something?" she asked him eagerly.

Kanis smiled, "Oh I am sure you will get it sooner or later." she smiled looking at the leaf..."The splotches are cool!" Her head tilted to the side though as Aras said the second then then she bursts into giggles as she suck out her tongue. "Oh no.....that isn't good."

Niyana nods, "You can use how every many colors you wish my dear. Any color we have." She smiled at him. He was the sweetest child she had ever seen and she could not be more proud that he was hers.

Ruran smiled at the praise, "Thank you Aunt Idhril It looks very good on you." even if it kinda blended with her skin. He took the brown and black paint back and with the brush still covered in brown he painted a small key on his left hand.

Joruri looked at Idhril's ankle and sighed Ruran was a good little artist...or would be with a bit more time. He blushed at her smiling face as she asked him he he wanted to paint.

"Joruri can't paint...." he spoke sadly and softly. "Joruri never taught to paint..." His skills in this area were far worse than that of the children around. He didn't even know how to hold a brush....or even right his own name when it came down to it.

"Mistress Idhril should go paint her family..." He suggested gently.
