I have currently been learning: Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Turkish, Russian, German, Hungarian and Portuguese. I haven't enough time to learn any of them well. crying

You should concentrate on Arabic. wink

And anyways, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese are pretty similar languages (as they are related) and I heard that it's difficult to learn similar languages simultaneously. I dunno. . .

I am trying to learn Arabic now. My dad is fluent in it (he has to be since he is Muslim and the Qu'ran is in Arabic), and he has been teaching me since I was 6.

You should probably learn about 2 or 3 languages and then learn more after you a re fluent in them.

Nadhrat Fidha
(نَضْرَة فِضَّة)
DH (ض) is read as a very strong D, not D and then H... I'm sure you could find a website with recordings of letters in Arabic so you could hear what it sounds like.

Hey, could someone do me a big favor? I looked on an online Arabic dictionary thing and found the word:

اتل, سفاك

It's supposed to mean "murderer", but I'm not sure if its correct or, more importantly, how to transliterate that into English. If someone could confirm that as the proper word, and tell me how to pronounce it, it would be most appreciated.

Btw, I asked this question before, actually, but I forgot what the answer was. sweatdrop

If it matters (for grammar purposes), this is supposed to be a phrase that is worn on the back of a jacket to brand someone as a convicted killer. confused Sort of. Actually, the guy in question wears it intentionally as a way of acknowledging the burden of his sin yadda yadda yadda... basically, it's an homage to Sagara Sanosuke on Rourouni Kenshin.... Only with a Muslim dude. ninja

So yeah, help please?
mrgreen

What type of dictionary was it? I suppose it wasn't a Literary Arabic dictionary, since the more "correct", Literary form, would be قاتل; It depends on what you're looking for really...
The word اتل, (pronounced a'atel or a'atil, depending on the dialect) simply means "killer, murderer". The other word, سفاك (pronounced sifaak) literally means "blood-shedder" (I know this word doesn't really exist in English, but you catch my drift, right?).
The word قاتل which I've just offered (pronounced katil) also means "killer, murderer".
Anyhow, I think that considering those who should be choosing the word to print on the shirt, قاتل should probably fit. (:

Hello all of the Arabic GD :]

I do not speak Arabic, but listen to a lot of music in that language.
But i need some help, i love the song in this Youtube video, and i think it is in Arabic.

I also think the singer is Tamer Hosni, but am not sure.

If someone knows the song, great. But i am also happy for someone to translate a little of the chorus for me, to Arabic using the Roman alphabet so i can at least try to look it up.

Thanks and i hope someone is a fan of this singer, lol x3

Someone contacted me and helped resolve this issue, THANK YOU!

I might start posting Arabic lessons here in a few months. I'm planning to take Arabic Language and Literature at university, and I've got to study Arabic syntax very well now for the entry examinations.
