Johnny walked out. Party pooper. Abby stopped Jole and Charlie. "But the club house comes first. Jole's right. Let's take a picnic." Hopefully the club would still be there. After all their memories were still locked in there. They always had it locked to protect their things. Even after high school they locked it just to keep it safe. That's when she remembered. "Who was the last one to have the key to the club house?"

"Toby." Charlie said, because it WAS true. They thought that the politician boy would be the best person to safeguard it, because of Charlie's knack for losing things.

Abby gasped. "We have to go get it!" She needed to get into that club house. She had to see if her lucky art tools were still there.

Abby nodded and then got out her cell phone. "Wait," She paused. "I don't have his number. My roommate broke my phone so I had to get a new one."

She went over to behind the counter and opened the register. "Here it is." she flapped a piece of paper in front of her face.

Abby took the paper and began to dial his number. The phone began to ring and she was a little too excited when he answered. "Toby! It's Abby. Hi, good. I know I just saw you but you need to come back to the Waffle House. Because we're going to the club house and we need the key. You do still have the key don't you?" The was a pause for Toby's answer. "Great. We'll meet you there." She hung up the phone and smiled. "He has to go home and get the key. He wants us to meet him there."

Abby was so excited. "Yes! But first we have to stop by the grocery store and get some food. We need to have a picnic." She ran to the store and picked up random things that she knew everyone would like. Abby bought a basket as well and walked out with a big smile on her face. "Ok, now we can go."

Thankfully, the club house was in walking distance. The club house was behind the Waffle House next to the river. She started walking, actually skipping, towards the lake. "We're going to club house. We're goign to the club house." She sang. Nothing could have gotten her more exicted.

((Sorry for the abscence, guys... Had a few things to sort out at this end.))
A strange lump in his throat, Jole trailed moodily behind the two girls, who were happily skipping down the thin mud trail towards the lake. He could hear Abby's light voice trilling across the distance between them, but he couldn't make out the words. Jole tried not to think about what was making her so happy. He couldn't, he wouldn't let himself think that --
Angrily, he kicked a stone at the side of the path. It skittered across the grass and dipped out of sight.
What's so special about him anyway?

Tobi was sitting in the clubhouse, spinning the keys around his finger. He heard Abby, then sat up. He looked out the window, then grinned.
Charlie looked at Jole, then sneezed.

It was hard for Jole to smile. Two conflicting parts of him were fighting to the death; the part that wanted to rush into the club house and give his friend a tremendous hug, and the slightly more vocal part that wanted to go in there and smash his face in.
Jole struggled with himself. As if on autopilot, a clean, commercial smile forced its way onto his face. He waved at Toby through the window, barely stopping himself from turning to look at Abby.
