"You're killing my tough guy vibe." He smiled.
"Sorry," Ora chuckled, "If you want, I can give you an illusion of firey devil wings or some such...might help you pick it up again."

"How many of you are there, exactly?" Hattie looked at her, tilting her head in confusion. She had never been a math wiz, not even the simple stuff. Regardless of the fact that she was a good mechanic and could build decent weapons. "I suppose I like being twin... I only just met my brother a few months ago." She smiled a little at the memory. "He resents me and Eric had to shoot him after he shot me... Cale's a bit of an a**."
"Seven," Syx chuckled, "Seven sisters, with one face." Syx smiled again and shrugged. "Your brother shot you, eh? Well, Tu would have shot me a few times if she could aim a gun decently. Welcome to the world of sibling love, I guess."

Eric slid into the pilot's seat, tapping the touch screen. releasing the Star's Light's controls.
"Hang on to yer butts, kids. It's gonna be a fast trip." He eased his ship up slowly, pulling from the cradle slowly.
"Alright, monopoly man, bring the Grushdeva in."

The Grushdeva fixed itself to the bottom of the Star's Light remotely, Jarred nodding with a good to go at Eric.

No sooner had Jarred finished the nod that the Star's Light had broken atmo, and was blazing out of Osis' orbit.

"Seven of you? How did your parents manage that?" She couldn't imagine having Seven Kids out of her... Well, Nevermind. Hattie shook her head to rid herself of the thoughts. "Cale resents me in a lot of ways, I suppose, but honestly, some days I would rather be him." She watched the Star's Light leave. "I love how he lives without kissing me goodbye. Baka."

"Idiot?" questioned Cassandra, coming up behind them silently. "I would think he's simply a man in a very great hurry. From his point of view, saying good-bye is a probably a more permanent thing that in the end just delays neccesary action. No offense, but he loves you rather dearly." She tried to stifle a grin, but badly. "He's just a guy."

Hattie turned and her eyes were unusually soft and slightly sad. "He is more than a guy to me, Missy. And I love that smelly grease ball more than he'll ever know." She sounded very unlike herself. "But you are right. Goodbyes are too formal. Especially since until recently, we only hooked up to bump uglies."

She started to say something, then stopped and just smiled. "The past is an echo of the future, though I certainly hope the future has fewer unhappy complications and more adventure. Good luck, Rainbow." The gray woman tipped an imaginary hat and walked away to find Dr. Mizrahi.

Hattie caught the actions of the Gray haired girl's mouth. "Hey, if ya got somethin' to say, just say it!" She snapped, stepping after the girl. "And thanks for the luck, but I don't need it." She followed after the girl, leaving Kevin in Syx's hands. Or rather, on her head.

"I'm only wishing you better fortune than your echoes in the past. Is that so wrong?"

"I'm only wishing you better fortune than your echoes in the past. Is that so wrong?"

Hattie glared at the other Woman. "Somethin' tells me this goes deeper than just you wishin' me luck. You don't even know me." She paused and resisted the urge to punch the woman before her. "My past's just fine, thanks and I didn't do anything with the Kook, so you're askin' the wrong person."

Halise looked up, realising the pent up elements between his hands and followed after Hattie, grabbing his Captain's arms. "Hattie, come back over there." He yanked on her arms softly. "You're still healing and if Eric comes back and you're not resting, he isn't going to be happy."

Syx twirled around with Kevin. "Only one of us was born, the rest of us were accidents. And most of us were raised by different people, within the family, but not by our parents."

Hattie turned from the insulting woman and she finally gave into Halise. "You'd better watch what you say, chick." Hattie warned before Halise dragged her away and back to Syx. She collapsed back onto her crate, feeling drained and worn. "Accidents like how?"

Cassandra just shook her head and walked off again. your past. But I have known an Eric and Hattie before, at a time when their lives had a dark turn. Live long enough, and you will see everyone reincarnated.> Her mental voice faded as she disappeared down the corridors.
