Colonel paused, "Well we could go to the big river over a ways. There's some nice shade trees." He was thinking of the hour ride there and another back. Also thinking of whether or not to bring a pack pony to carry the picnic lunch. "There's an outcropping of rock not too far from the river, we could always eat there." He scratched his chin again, feeling the slight stubble that he would shave off in the morning.
Tired beyond belief Konoha heard none of the sounds. Her three good legs were getting tired from carrying the extra weight. She tryed to shift her weight only to shift it back. Without wakeing fully she stepped back from Path and folded her knees beneath her. This time she only laid down because her legs wouldn't hold her up. She didn't lie on her side, but more like a cow, a fell back into deep sleep with her head resting on the ground.

Path settled down by Konoha. He rested his muzzle on her back.
"Sounds gorgeous. Wildfire would probably like going for a swim while we are there."Gwen said thinking of her paint mare who took the chance to go for a swim whenever she could. She smiled looking out the window.

"Well then the river it is." Colonel ran a hand through his hair as he finished his meal. "Want anything special to eat?"
Konoha flicked an ear at Path before relaxing completely.

"Surprise me. Wanna go for a walk outside?"Gwen asked smiling softly as she finished eating. She brushed a strand of hair out of her eyes.

"Suprise it is." He stood and walked to the door. "You coming or what?" Grinning he looked over his shoulder at her, if anything he loved to joke around with her. "It may take us all day just to get to the river if you don't move a little faster." His voice portrayed that he was only joking.

"I'm a coming."Gwen said chuckling as she followed Colonel. Kavik followed her. She smile softly at Colonel. Whenever he teased her it was just friendly teasing the other guys were always rude.

((Can somebody give me a quick overvew of what has happened? I just joined... ^^; ))
A stallion of about 7 stood in the farthest corner of the pasture. No one would have seen him if the lantern light had not been glistening on the fresh coat of sweat that covered his jet-black body. His long mane covered his eyes, but he glanced through it at the other horses. His features, tall, slightly feathered at the hooves, obviously proclaimed him a Friesian, a breed not thought of to ever be wild. Deep hatred glittered in his eyes. 'How could I have let myself be caught?' he thought to himself. He suddenly, out of pure fury, stomped his hoof loudly, and the sound echoed around the pasture.

Eclipse was jolted back to wakefulness by the sound of the stomp that the stallion made. Her ears pricked toward the stallion at the far end of the pasture; her night vision was fairly good as were all horses', and she could barely make out his silhouette.
She was surprised at his shape and coat, because he didn't look like any of her herdmates by any stretch of the imagination. He looked far too refined to be wild; she wondered what he was doing here.

The stallion looked at mare staring at him through his tangled forelock. His eyes softened a bit, he had no grudge whatsoever against other horses. He turned his head and looked at her, just to see get a look at her. 'She looks like a mustang. She must have been one of the unfortunate that was rounded up...' he said to himself. He then turned his head away again, lowering it. He snorted, feeling as bad for her and the other horses being caught as he did for himself.

Path raised his head. He snorted noticing the other stallion. He climbed slowly to his feet making sure not disturb Konoha. He hoped this other stallion would not challenge him or try to take his mare........wait his mare? "I keep calling her my mare. I wonder if she would be willing to accept the position of lead mare once we get out?" he mused silently.

The stallion raised his head as the other stallion got to his feet. He looked him straight in the eyes, then began to walk towards him, lowering his head in submission. He stopped a few feet short of him, head still lowered. He then folded one leg under him, extended the other, and seemingly bowed to him. He straightened back up, keeping his head lower than that of the other stallion, showing he meant no harm or challenge. "Were you captured as well?" he asked him.

"Yes I was. My name is Path and that mare laying down over there is Konoha. If you want you may come with us when we escape."Path replied glancing at the sleeping Konoha.

The stallion raised his head a bit in surprise. "My name is Kalypso. I would like to escape with you, but I won't impose on accompanying you unless you insist. I've been on my own for quite some time." He lowered his head and sniffed at Konoha, then raised his head again. "Yeah, you picked a good mare." he said with a wink. He then turned and trotted back to his corner. He cocked an ankle, trying to relax but not sleep. He refused to sleep anywhere around humans.

Colonel walked to the edge of the corall, keeping several feet back from the fence in order to be less noticed. He watched the mare sleeping on the ground and the protective stallion over at the fence seeming to be watching the other, pitch black stallion. He ran a hand through his hair, still unsure about the future of the mare. "So what about we get a move on out of here around 10:30. That way the horses can be dished out at oh say eightish in the morning and we can have everything else that needs doing done before that." He turned to her and would walk her to her house, but his men were watching and he had to keep face when they were.
Konoha barely noticed Path's move untill she shivered. She wasn't cold just the difference from Path's warmth and the slight breeze was highly noticable to her. Raiseing her head, still half alseep, she swivled her ears to Path and nickered. Still too tried to get up she simply waited for him to come back before she could relax and go back to sleep. She never noticed the other stallion.

Path snorted trotting back over to Konoha. He layed down beside her. "Go back to sleep my girl."he nickered softly.
"Sounds like a good plan to me."Gwen said watching the mare and stallion. She smiled softly as her paint mare neighed from the other corral. She loved every single horse she worked with, but Wildfire had always been special.
