Keon looked down at the plate. The sound of the plate scarping had lowered his focus and he failed to make the right cut. The tuna slipped in his hand causing him to trim the edge of the fish. He didn't cut much off and it was barely noticeable unless someone was looking for defects in his work. Keon looked at the cuts he made perfectly with the other half. He was doing so nicely before and wondered why he was faltering all of a sudden.

As he inspected the other half he got back to where he once was. His skill returned and he managed to make all the cuts to the second half of the tuna. Each cut was precise and well planned. They were slightly smaller than those that came from the first half since he shaved a bit from the top of the fish. Keon then placed each cut chunk of tuna on a single plate arranged in four rows.
He disposed of the fish bones and placed his knife in the sink. "Andou-sensei, I finished up with the Tuna. Anything else you need me to work on for lunch." Keon asked as his stomach started to growl lowly. He couldn't wait to eat all of what was prepared. He looked around the kitchen and could see carrots and lettuce being cut as well as some salmon. He once again started salivating just from the thought of all the food that would be made.

Gwyn focus again on the cucumber, taking car to find the ends of it. She didn't want to slip up and look like a fool again, not in front of those she was compeating agianst. So slowly she took a deep breath in and a deep breaht out, centering herself and her knife on the cucumber. For now she blocked out comunication with the outside world, she wanted to ensure all of her focus and her energy was on this one task. How hard could it be? After all she was more dexturous then she was strong and she had done push ups just fine. Cutting a cucmber to bits should be no problem in the long run, she just needed to move her knife up and down hard enough that it sliced through. So Gwyn raised her knife only a few inches above the cucumber this time, ready to strike.
Her knife came down swiftly and cleanly. It made contact with the cucumber slicing through it as if it were hot butter. Gwyn then took this piece and diced it up even finer so that it could be used in the sushi mixture. Gwyn was quite pleased with herself, expecialy after the incident that accured only moments before hand. Gwyn returned her focus to the outside world and began conversing once more. "Yeah I'm fine, Thanks Tenshi." Gwyn shot the boy a little smile before returning to her work. Her mind wandered as she finished slicing the little bit. I wonder whats taking Tarou. Her thoughts turned to the first friend she ever made. He seems to be lagging a bit behind. Gwyn shook her head, she didn't have time to be thinking about anyone but herself and the tasks if she wanted to get into a position of power.

"Take it slow if you have to. " he replied to Gwyn, smiling as well, although he didn't think she saw him smiling, he felt better doing it anyway. If he smiled, then his tone would show a better level of encouragement rather than a insult. He returned to his salmon and took the one he had cut too deeply on and began fixing it by cutting off the meat he had still attached to the skin. Luckily they were big enough pieces that could still be used individually and have no effect on the outcome. He set all the salmon in front of him and raised the knife.... his favorite part. The knife came down on the cutting board with a loud slam as it cut off the head of the fish.
He followed suit with the remaining salmon until their heads were also cut off. He placed the heads in the same bowl as the guts and other fishy fluids. "Andou sensei, do we want to do anything with these?" he said referring to his bowl of fish guts. Some people enjoyed the fish heads and other organs, so he thought it good to ask before throwing them out.

Gwyn laughed a little, turning her attention back to the vegatable. Take it slow? Gwyn didn't have time to take it slow, she had to be doing stuff 24-7. She didn't even know where the energy came from but some how she managed to just keep going even after she had passed out. TWICE! Maybe it was instinct, her bodies force of will. That was why she couldn't slow down, even if it killed her, her body just wouldn't let her. It would keep pushing and pushing until it found its limits at death. It was due to this force of will the Gwyn wanted to become a ninja. Because she knew that her body wouldn't stop, ever, and this in turn would make her a fantastic fighter. Gwyn focused once more on the knife and the cucumber, getting ready to dice up a bit more.
As Gwyn lowered her knife she felt it hit the cutting board with a thud. She had once more missed the cucumber completely, and her fingers as well, luckly. She hadn't noticed at first but her fingers were lined up directly with the edge of the dull vegatable. If her body hadn't sensed this the knife would have sliced right through her fingers. With a sigh she set up again, making all the preperations needed to continue on with her task. "Who knew something like this could be so difficult."

Seeing as they were in the same room, Tenshi decided he would set the bowl aside and continue with the salmon cutting. He was able to multi-task and he didn't understand how people couldn't. Maybe with more difficult tasks, but something as simple as talking and cooking at the same time? He walked over to the sink and began washing each individual fish, making sure the dirt and grime were completely out of the fish. He loved food, but the one thing that bugged him was dirty food. He could eat it if he didn't know it was dirty, but once he found out, he would never eat at the restaurant again. So he practiced clean cooking at all times, and maybe someday if he ever owned a restaurant, it would be his number one, strictly enforced, rule.
He looked over at Gwyn who had been having troubles again. "If you would like, I can help you as soon as I am done cutting up the salmon." He hoped she didn't take it the wrong way, and with his luck she probably would, however, he knew his intentions and at least he offered the help. He could see the sushi getting ready before his eyes and was getting anxious for it.

Tenshi picked out all the bones and threw them out. He didn't think anyone would have any need for fish bones, at least that he knew of. After the bones were out, all that was left was the meat of it. He placed them evenly in front of him and began slicing the salmon. He made sure his fingers were rolled into his hand to prevent the knife from slicing his finger. If he were to slip the cut would be on his knuckle and wouldn't be so bad as his finger. Luckily he had no incident with the cutting and soon he was finished with the salmon.
Placing the salmon aside he washed his hands and walked over to Gwyn. He would have moved onto the next thing, however, he needed the vegetables to be done first. "I am here to assist," he said with a big grin on his face. Too bad chakra molding couldn't be as easy as cutting salmon... Slice Salmon 20 + (0 dex mod) = 20 DC: 10 5/5

Gwyns hands were begining to get shaky. How was it possible that already two of the tasks, much harder then chopping a vegatable, were complete before Gwyn had even gotten the chance to get started. At the pace she was going she felt like she was doing nothing but getting in the way, why bother even trying if others would do whatever she could but at a quicker pace. Was there even a point for her to continue training if she was going to be overtaken so easily? She knew that every ninja was a valued asset but Gwyn could not find any self worth if she wasn't on top. Gwyn didn't want to run in the middle of the pack and just be good enough, she wanted to excede all expectations, and crush anyone or anything that stood in her way. How could she even dream if she never got a chance to get started? Gwyn Steadied herself she she placed the edge of the cucumber against her knife slowly raising the blade. She couldn't even do the simple tasks, how could she ever dream of being the best. Gwyn prepaired her fingers ensuring they wouldn't be in the way when the blade fell. Gwyn turned her head to Tenshi, she wasn't particularly mad at him, but her overall foul mood spoiled her tone, "I am fine." Her voice was cool and calm. With that she turned her head back to the cucumber and swiftly lowered the blade.
The knife once more dug into the cutting board instead of the cucumber and Gwyns hands once again began to shake. Damn this curse. Any idiot with sight would have done this task with no trouble at all, it was simply a matter or bringing the knife up and down, no skill what so ever was involved. Yet she couldn't do it. She couldn't even do something as simple as cutting a vegatable. What a shame to the Yubie clan. The clan known for sight beyound sight. She couldn't even cut a damned inanimate object, how could she ever possible be able to attack a moving target, or even worse, one that was fighting her back. If this was a sign of her skills, Gwyn would no doubt be dead before she even left the academy.

Gwyn tightened her grasp on the knife as she pulled it out of the board. Her grip was strong enough to turn her nuckles white, yet she didn't loosen them, even when the knife was free. Her teeth were clenched together tightly, and a stern look of anger had spread over her face. Her mind was white hot with fury, and she knew if she didn't calm herself down it wouldn't take much to push her over the edge. That was the problem with Gwyn, she became to emotional when she failed, and had not enough emotion when she succeded. She did nothing but beat herself down so that even when she performed impresive tasks they ment nothing, but the moment she failed she wanted nothing more then to kill herself for being such a useless waist of space. It was a self destructive attitude that made her feel as if she was never accomplishing anything, an attitude which if she didn't change would lead to her inevitable demise. Gwyn didn't even take time to think about the cut. She simply raised her blade and slammed it down as hard as she could making sure that it would cut through the cucumber should contact be made.
Unfortuantly it wasn't and the knife just once more plunged itself into the board. Gwyn let go of the knife leaving it where it was. She needed some air. Washing her hands Gwyn left the kitchen and made her way towards the front door. She didn't stop to put on her cloak and walked into the brisk mist. She didn't go far. Simply a few feet from the house. Leaning on the rail she took deep breaths feeling the cold mist settle in her lungs. She could feel tears and anger whelling up in her eyes but fought them back. If anyone saw her crying she would just become more of a failure. She needed to control her emotions and not waist time with such stupid things as anger and frustration.

The more time Gwyn took to try and settle herself down the more she began hating herself, and the others. How could it be so hard to do a stupid task such as cutting a damned cucumber. It didn't move, it didn't fight back, and as far as Gwyn knew, all one had to do was move a knife a tiny bit. Yet she couldn't even do that. It was because of this curse. Gwyn put her palm in her hands. This stupid curse. If she was normal she would have been done to. Like the other students, but because she couldn't see she couldn't even do a task as stupid as this one. Gwyn clenched her hair, fighting back tears. The others didn't understand. They didn't know how hard it was to live the way she lived. Always alone, even when others were near. She would never know the joy of music, the beauty of the world, or the face of her family. She would only know darkness and silance. Gwyn slammed her fist into the gorund. You are such a worthless pile of nothing. You don't even have the strength to cut a vegatable. Gwyn cursed at herself, slamming her eyes shut to keep the tears back.
It took much longer than she had expected but Gwyn finally came to sad terms with herself. Envoleped in sadness Gwyn returned to work silently. She washed her hands quickly and removed the knife from the board. Gwyn waisted no time hold the cucumber in place or trying to find it. If she was ment to make the cut it would happen, if she wasn't there was no point putting a body part at risk. Gwyn raised the knife ready to strike at the cucumber once more. Gwyn simply let the knife drop from her hand, letting it fall and clatter on the counter top. What was the point? She couldn't do it before, she couldn't do it now. Gwyn gave up hope all together. May as well... They will get it done faster than you could anyways. Gwyn tought bitterly to herself, sadness sweeping over her face.

Tenshi stood back and let her try to cut it herself. He didn't want to make her more upset than she already was. She tried again and after failing, she stormed out of the apartment, which Tenshi would figure would be a good thing for her. When she came back and tried to cut it again, she dropped the knife. Tenshi walked over and picked up the knife. Holding the blade her handed the handle to her, "Try again. This time, I'll help you." He walked over to the cucumber and held it in place for her. He made sure he did the same thing with his fingers when he sliced the salmon, to ensure the safety of his fingers. "Don't lift the blade so high to cut it. You don't need that much force to cut a cucumber."

Gwyn shrugged off Tenshi a bit. When she got into her moods she became quite cold and distant from everybody around her. If there is one thing Gwyn could always do without fail it was shut herself down and reflect on situations. That was what she was doing now. In her mind Gwyn played the situation over and over again, she must have looked so childish storming out in such a tantrum. She was training to be a ninja, if she wanted to prove herself as such she would have to grow up and leave such childish emotions behind. Gwyn took the knife from Tenshi without a word, wraping her hand around it hand laying her pointer finger flat against the dull side ot the blade. She would use it as a guiding sorce to help maintain controll over the slices and the cuts. That was what she had been lacking the first few tries, a precicious needed for the task of chopping food. She had been so caught up in the power needed to cut through the food she didn't even think about her accuracy. Gwyn kept the tip of the knife connected to the board as she slid the cucumber under the blade of the knife. She would simply slice through it at a differant angle, hopefully that would be all that was needed to get through the slightly tough shell and into the meat of the vegatable.
The kife cut into the object with ease and once more she had cut of a decent sized piece. A smile however could not be found on the young girls face. Gwyns head was still stuck on her failures, and even with this slight success she would not be happy until she was done. Gwyn took the large chunk she had just sliced off and began to dice it into finer pieces. As soon as they were at an exceptable size she used the back of the blade to push the diced bits into a pile with her other bits of cucumber. She still had 3/5ths of the cucumber left to chopped, so she had nothing to celebrate yet. Once she was done, at that point, she would thank Tenshi, until then she just needed to remain contained within her own darkness and focus her sixth sense. She was not cold enough however to no recognize him for his help, "I suppose that worked." Gwyn left it at that as she cleaned her blade to make sure it was ready for the next slice.

Gwyn wiped off the excess water on her dress and repositioned her hand on the knife. She grasped it higher towards the guard but ensured that her pointer finger once more rested on the flat end of the blade. Gwyn took hold of the cucumber and ensured all fingers were out of the way of her sliceing area. Keeping the tip once more on the board Gwyn went over in her head what she had done last time to achieve her success. First she had made sure that the rest of the world couldn't reach her. Check. Second she focused her sixth sense on the two object, the first being her knife, the second being the vegatable, check. Third. She thought about angle of impact, force of slice, and speed of the cut. It was harder to check this one off because it was imposible to replicate results percisly as she had done before. She hoped that she had at least gotten close. Tightening her grip on the knife Gwyn began her decent on the cucumber.
The shell seemed tougher at this part of the object than had been true for the last bit. With a little muscle Gwyn was able to force the blade all the way through the meat and finally out the other side of the shell. Another chunk had been sliced off and was ready to be diced. Gwyn got to work on it by using a technique much like rocking the knife back and forth. Going from hit to tip Gwyn sliced through the chuck cutting it into smaller and smaller bits until it was at an exceptable size. When it reached this size she once more used the blade to push the bits into a bowl with the other cucumber slices. The cucumber was shrink in size and hand space on the vegatable was becoming limited. She would have to be very careful from here on out to ensure she didn't accidentaly cut off a finger.

Gwyn went once more to wash off he knife and held the blad flat against the water. The way the water bounced off the knife and splshed her hand amused Gwyn. Water was such an odd element. It had solid proproties, yet also gas proproties. It flowed around objects, yet refracted off surfaces. The particles were flexable, yet stiff at the same time. Water was indeed a curiousity of life. The fact that it was made of 1/3 the same substance as air, yet breathing it was lethal. When Gwyn was satisfied with the cleaning of the blade she clean off the remaining water and went back to the cucumber. As she arived at her station she began to feel a bit silly. Why was she washing her blade between each cut? Its not like the vegatable had any deadly bacteria that could be spread around by not washing the blade, and even if it did that still ment the thing itself would later be cleaned as a whole. Gwyn decided not to prolong on the subject and once more returned to her cold unfeeling thoughts. She had to be mechanical and absolute in her cuts. She had no more time to waist and no more patiance for failure. Gwyn moved the cucumber into position under the blade once more, ensuring her fingers were clear away from the blade.
The cucumber seemed to move under the blade and once more she made contact with nothing. Clenching her teeth tightly she tightened her grasp on the hit of the blade and drove the tip into the cutting board. The water which she had been so fond of was now betraying her. Causing the cucumber to be slick and move freely. What a stupid waist of time. Gwyn furrowed her brow, anger once more building up inside her. Her hand had not left the knife however and she slowly pulled the knife out of the board. Gwyn picked up the remaing mass of the cucumber and dried it off. She would give herself five more tries. If she could not finish this simple task in five cuts she did not deserve to be a ninja.

Gwyn closed her eyes taking deep breaths in and out. She emptied her body of all emotion, positive and negative. It seemed that was what it was going to take to complete this exercise, total emptyness. Gwyn felt the cucumber benieth her fingers. It was bumpy and uneven on the outside. The shell felt like a soft rock almost. Gwyn grasped her knife once more, adjusting her hand so that it was once more comfertable for cutting. The young Yubie grasped the entire object in her fist, ensuring it was half within her grasp and half exposed. This method ensured the cucumber would not move, and at the same time ensured that her fingers would be safe. Slowly Gwyn slid the cucumber into place, being percise with her positioning. She raised the knife so that the tip remained on the cutting block, as she had so many times before, and before she decided to make the faithful cut she double checked all of her math. When Gwyn felt confident that everything was in place she quickly slammed down her hand with intention of cutting through both ends of the shell and the meat of the cucumber with one fell swoop.
The knife went through like a hot object through butter. Another chunk had been removed. Gwyn almost let happyness find its way into her mind but quickly extinguished any thought of such a feeling. She had done well because she had been meticulous, not because of any sort of force of will. It was outstanding how much Gwyns training could contradict itself. At times the only force driving her to get anything done was a force of will, but at times like this she found it better to rely on nothing but a slow and calculating aproach, shutting off all emotion. One of these days she would have to figure out which one got her through problems faster, but until that day she would play around with both.
The way of force of will was more interactive and would most likely make her more propular with her squad, yet the cold meticulous aproach, albiet being antisocial, made sure that when a task was done it was done as well as it could be. Gwyn tried not to dwell on the fact however and quickly got to dicing and scooping off the chunk of cucumber. Only one section remained to be diced, and after she was finished she would be sure to appologize to Tenshi for being so cold, but it was for her sake, not his.
