Maki was still gropping her way through the darkness, slightly shaking and breathing prayers that Gabriel was fine. His whispered goodbye felt her feeling worried about all the other Chasers. "I don't like all this darkness." She breathed. She once stopped and looked over her shoulders at the twisted path she took. "Zain..." She shook her head vigerously, "No, I gotta find and help the others." Maki repeated firmly to herself. Maki felt a shiver down her spine, like something, somewhere had shattered. The energy felt familiar. "What...was...Zife?"

The words echoed through Ryo's head."Goodbye."Ryo stopped where he stood.Who's voice was it.Ryo couldn't remember who's it was.The old man brought down his sword and it sliced into Ryo's body.His world shattered.

as vice continues to stare the the beacon in the sky, his arms begin to shine brightly, shattering the darkness around him as the light moves to his hands "looks like the power has awakened" he says, grabbing his swords and holding them up above his head as they shine brightly "let's hope this works" he says, feeling a pulsation of light sweep over him "Zife!" he says as he looks around and then stops, his thoughts spiraling in his head "if I get out of this nightmare, Asmodeus will pay with his life"

Prinz found his heart beaming with delight as his ideal wedding began. Waiting promptly for his bride to arrive, he took one last look at the crowd. All his friends, and family were there watching him. Feeling a loud thump from his heart, he turned to see the beautiful red haired weaver entering the church. She was fashioned in a stunning white dress, and her angelic elegance entranced the entire hall. "Thrais..." his words escaped him.

The weaver took the stand facing Prinz, and with a voice as pure as music she greeted her husband. "Hello, my dear." Thrais beamed greatly.

It was then that a sharp pain arose from his heart. Prinz winced, and clutched his chest. For a moment, the illusion seemed to fade, but it stabilized quickly. Looking in all directions, it was now that the chaser heard the faint "Goodbye". The voice...It was so familiar, but where? Prinz jerked his head up, and something had changed in the crowd. Someone was missing. There was Orphen, Zife, Scyre, Ryo, Maki, Dorinda, Rix, Vice, Elle, Tau, Xellky, and...Wait. Where was he. A trusted friend was gone from the crowd.

"Is there something wrong, Prinz?" Thrais asked, concerned for her husband.

The chaser looked at the weaver's deep red eyes. "...He's gone...Someone is gone." he mumbled to her. Then it struck him like a brick. Prinz's eyes widened as the memories began to flow back into his head, and heart. "Gabriel...!" once again, the illusion started to fade as Prinz regained his memories. The chaser had to go, now he knew what was happening. Looking at Thrais, he touched her cheek "I'm sorry I have to go...But I'll be sure to make this a reality, I promise you that." A smile was returned to him as if the weaver understood what was happening. Opening his eyes, the orb concealing the key wielder dismantled itself rather slowly, and shards of the ball broke off like skin on an onion. The warrior took a step out of the orb, and could see he was still surrounded in darkness, but the sand beneath his feet could be felt. He was back.

as vice crosses his arms in front of his face and points his swords upward, light begins to radiate out from his blades "I may not have known Gabriel very long, but he was a comrade" he says, the light becoming brighter as wind circles his feet "Asmodeus, you will pay!" he yells, as the orb around him begins to crack, a bright light and powerful gust flowing out through the cracks "this trick will not stop me" he says as the rest of the orb shatters, a powerful gust blowing out from it in all directions, his feet hitting the soft sand "told you.........it wouldn't............work" he says, panting as he drops to his right knee and smiles "where's..........Asmodeus?"

Maki felt energies of familiar people bursting around her. Like they were in some sort of containment and broke free as if crashing through glass. "Gropping around for a door isn't gonna help." She muttered and stopped moving. Her senses seemed to make the area smaller when she paused. She closed her eyes and carefully breathed in and out to remain calm. In one breathe, she kicked off the ground as the wind curled around her feet, lifting her higher and higher into the air. Maki crashed through the orb. She stumbled a little, crushing the dark shards beneath her feet seeing Vice, Prinz, and Zife before her. "Good to see you guys're safe. Now...it's time to kick some a**." Maki grinned cracking her knuckles.

Zife looked around as the Chasers triumphed over the darkness many of his comrades had already escaped their prisons and soon the others would follow suit. “Vice I know you are my friend, but I have to be blunt you are by no means strong enough to take Asmodeus, that task befalls me understand and don’t even try to get involved!” The Keywielder shouted not even looking at the young warrior. Zife wasn’t the type of person to yell at his friends, but he had to make things clear.
The Blond Key-wielder raised Freedom above his head the light around Zife that Gabrielle had given him manifested in around the blade and dispersed around the island. The mist slowly disappeared along with the light soon Kingdom Hearts poked through the clouds as if guiding the warriors to the ship.
"I'm glad to see your broke free as well Maki for awhile I thought we might have to break you out, just put a couple bowls of Ramen in front of you and you'd be stuck in there until you ran out." Zife chuckled.

Jonamryn's sphere ruptured as Zife forced away the shroud from the island. The darkness seemed to pour out through his suit like water from a surfaced shipwreck, and it took a moment before consciousness and clarity returned to the ancient sorcerer. He was slow to stand, and surprisingly shaky even with the suit's assistance. "This...cannot be..." He turned to Zife cautiously, trying to lean on a staff that wasn't there and settling for the half-melted ruin of Gabriel's wrecked container. "Is it true, commander? Is Gabriel....is my...friend...gone?"

((sorry for the delay..verious this going on at home..none of em good>_>))

~~~~~~~
Everything was so wonderful... too wonderful it seemed.
It was was a traditional union, Thrais finished the sacred rights of passage and entered the final chamber where everyone was waiting.
Prinz stood there dressed in formal robes befitting him. He was adorned around his right arm with 2 long red threads that droped to the marble floor.
Thrais had these same red threads when she left the chamber.
Now beneath the light of the moon trinity she wrote in the air her Sacred Name. Every weaver had one, it was the name of their existence when they're born into the universe. From that, their spoken name was given; the name they're called by all who know them.. but only those who would be bound to them in destiny would be given knowledge of their sacred name.
This she wrote in the air and the letter light up in gold mist that hung in the air before Prinz's face. He did the same, with his finger he mimiced his bride and began to write his name...when...
"Goodbye."
She heard it as if he was standing right behind her and speaking into her ear. She went as still as the temple water they stood in. A heartwrenching sense of loss, followed by the numbing and painful sensation of a destiny line suddenly 'SNAPING' from inside her.
Someone... someone was gone. Someone was taken from her, and throught he illusion she shifted her vision to see that severed golden thread ... drifting alone, detached from the person it would lead to.
Who was it?!
"Thrais?" the weavers attention was refocused to the image of her beloved who looked at her with a sympathetic gaze. She felt wetness on her face, which he reached out and whiped away.
" You're crying, you know that right?" Prinz said holding her face with one hand and watching her closely.
" S-someone is gone, someone is gone but I..I can't sense who it is, something in the-.." her word failed her as suddenly her written name seemed to trembled and shattered into sparks of light.
" My name, w-whats going on?!"
She looked around, everyone who watched held a similar impassive expression, as if they were not surprized. Their faces held a mixture between understanding, sympathy and comfort.
" That is not your true name."
"What?!!" Thrais cried, struggling to get out of Prinz's grasp.
"I don't undertsand-! I don't undertand, let em go! Let me go!" But she was held in place, her strength nothing compared to him, like comparing a child to a grown man. His grip simply unshakable.
Now she knew beyond a doubt that something was wrong about all of this, every fiber in her being sensed it like smelling a stale odor in the air.
Now with that small tremor coming from the outside, her friend passing, shimmering at the end of the tunnel of that distant reality... she could see what surounded her for what it trully was.
A false dream.
She shifted vision to look at them all, and saw that none of the destiny lines she had connected to them! She began to panic and struggle harder.
"Athrais, listen to me..." "No! You're not real!! None of you! Whats happened?! Where is everyone! My real friends! Mother!"
"Thrais, listen to us." Ceres was suddenly there beside them, turning her daughters face to her. "I know this is hard... and things are about to get harder, but you mustn't turn away. No matter what happens you must never give up hope."
"Gabriel didn't...did he..?" She didn't know how but it came to her at last, and her body went lax. It was Gabriel, he was gone. He finally passed on to the next world beyond this one. Just like Elle did.
And with his death he sent a life line to her. Something to drag her out of this fantasy.
Tears continued to drip down her cheeks. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry..."
Thrais felt such shame, how could she run away into this fantasy, when there were people who needed her?! Gabriel; surely if she could see this was an illusion, then she could've broken free long before this had to happen!!
"Don't blame yourself," the fake Prinz said drawing her into an embrace. "...He wouldn't have wanted you to feel like that." For a false image he was incredably gentle. Perhaps he was more then that.
Thrais closed her eyes, but knew she couldn't just wish it all away anymore. Not when it could possably cost her another life.
"..I've been running away from this.. for a long time. I knew somehow.. it would come to this one day. I was afraid."
"There's nothing wrong in being afraid my little one, but you mustn't let it consume you." Ceres said gently stroking the side of her head. Allowing the weaver to prepare herself.
"The choice I made, somehow I knew it would come to this... The chasers wont be strong enough to defeat the order alone. My heart knew this already, but I-" and so she made her decition with a heavy heart. And the fake dream's hold on her began to slip.
Even as the illusion began to fade away, and the arms that held her disappeared, she still wished to stay.
"I just wanted this future so badly, but I wont run away from my destiny... anymore."
Darkness consumed herbefore the light came, and she prayed inside herself. Hoping he'd hear her.
"Gabriel..if you can hear my heart from where you are now... will you give me strength, to do what I must... Help me be as brave as you were..when this is all over."
Across the endless gulf of darkness, a new light pierced the veil trapping Athrais, and a voice both new and familiar spoke into her heart, soft as the purring of a mother cat to her slumbering kits.
"Child of the sky, servant of the light, dove among the falcons, listen..."
There was no face to the voice and yet there were eyes gazing into hers from within the light.
"We know of your plight, of the destiny you sought to escape, of the fate that has been foretold to you."
There was the sense of a hand upon her shoulder even while there were neither hand nor shoulder to feel the touch.
"But there is no destiny save what you make for yourself. Nothing is fated until it has already come to pass."
A shadow took form within the light, lithe and graceful and distinctly feline.
"Gabriel...is gone. What he has left behind, he has given to those for whom he cared in his final days. He has taken not the final step, but the first. There is ever new life after death, whether it be life restored or life reborn. Death is not a destination, nor even a passage, but a waypoint, a single step along the way, which some take only once but others may take a thousand times and more."
His eyes finally became as visible as they were tangible, orbs of glittering amethyst like clouds kissed by the final rays of a setting sun. He stood before Athrais, straight and proud but cool and casual, as only a cat truly can.
"Gabriel, our friend, our liberator, our champion, chose this death to be his destiny, this complete destruction to be his fate, that in his death his life might finally be justified. We know of the destiny you now choose to accept, the pain you feel for what you must leave behind, the separation from those you love."
...dry your eyes, and quietly bear this pain with pride, for heaven shall remember the silent and the brave...
His hand rested on her shoulder where she felt it, and in the growing light she could see every scar on his blue-gray pelt, the marks of a warrior, a soldier among his kind, who had chosen his destiny just as Gabriel and Athrais now had.
"But no one who makes that choice will ever face it alone. That is why Gabriel called you cousin, why he declared you in his heart to be blood to him. Gabriel...would have been happy to be here now, but even though he is gone, he is still with you, in here." A new warmth began to fill Athrais' heart, a kinship different from family, from friendship, from affection. It was the warmth of a campfire deep behind enemy lines, of a hearty handshake missing a finger, of hot blood marching in the cold of winter, of standing together before a ragged flag and remembering fondly those who died to defend it and all it stood for. Camaraderie. Esprit de corps. The fraternity between those who would never be so proud save to die together, united in arms, and the love and respect of those who had gone before and now waited to accept her as one of their own.
...we few...we happy few...we band of brothers...
He took Athrais' hand in his own for a moment, and in that moment it was Gabriel's cool, sardonic tone speaking through him, an echo in the heart now shared between them, a last message not spoken but felt in his passing and carried on in every stolen piece of his scattered heart.
"If this is your choice, then you know what you must do, little winged cousin. Worry not for those we must leave behind, for we shall catch up to them at the next crossing of the road. When that shall be, even the gods cannot foretell, but when all are reunited it shall seem little more than hours in our hearts. For what you do now, you have been waiting all your life, not for some illusory doom in silent halls which you sought to flee, not for some fairy tale ending your heart yearned for but knew to be unattainable, but for right now, for this very moment when you choose to give of yourself all that you have ever been and can ever hope to be, for the sake of those you love, and there is no greater love, no greater death than this. And in the end, it will be only the beginning, but first it must needs be the end. Just remember these things: Prinz will always love you, no matter how many times you must be parted; you will still love him no matter which side of the veil you stand in; and we are all so proud of you..."
...and in my dying, I'm more alive than I have ever been...
"Remember, there is always another future, another destiny, waiting after this one ends. Never give up hope, never give up love, and never be afraid to stand up when your name is called." There was another feeling, a soft and slightly fuzzy kiss on Athrais' forehead, before the soldier tomcat let go of her. "Now go be a hero, little cousin. We'll save a spot by the fire for you."
The face and voice disappeared, but the warmth in Athrais' heart burned even warmer, the beacon light of still shining in the distance. It stood beyond the shroud of darkness imposed by Asmodeus, beyond any horizon her waking eyes had ever seen. It was the candle in the window, the distant lighthouse, the faithful guiding star, the fire in the hearth. It was not the end, not a destination to be reached, but the promise of a rest well earned, a respite and a prize to be won, and after that...
"Che. That ramen sounds really really good right about now." Maki grinned but as Jonamryn approachd with his question of Gabriel, her smile faded. "Wait so that voice..." Maki muttered in shock and a sudden pang of sadness against her heart at the goodbye she had heard. "It-It's not true...H-He's not gone...R-right Zife?" Maki smiled nervously, praying, hoping with all her heart that it was a lie, looking worriedly at the leader. "Right Zife?" She repeated again with urgency to hear the answer.
The sphere which held Thrais's body incased began to shimmer fomr within, and it's surface rippled as if it's solid form was loosing it's shape. Then all at once the walls around the sleeping weaver seemed to disperse into fragmented threads disappearing into dust.
As the orb vanished, her form descended to the ground and she stood there eyes slowly opening.
What lay in her expression was a look of kindled affirmation. Tinted with a meloncoly smile, she seemed....
Ready.
Spotting the others through her shifted vision, whether or not the darkness was dispersed or not, she walked towards them. All the while, sensing the others close by...
" Maki."
Her hand would rest on the girls shoulder, gently announcing her presence with them. Turning the girl's face to her, Thrais would give a solomn nod.
" I'm afraid... he's gone somewhere we cannot follow for now."
Zife stood silent and was about to open his mouth, but Thrais beaten him to it. “What Thrais says is true Gabriel is gone I watched him depart from this world, he gave up his life to help us his light saved us from the darkness.” The Keywielder clenched his fist remembering his last conversation with Gabriel before he sacrificed himself.
“I’m sorry Jonamryn.” Zife said looking down, Gabriel was right in front of him and he couldn’t do anything to save him maybe if he was stronger he could have saved his friend, Zife partly blamed himself for Gabrielle’s death. He raised his head and glared at the colossal ship in front of the group. “So who’s still fighting the darkness?” The blond asked looking at the group; Syric and Dorinda weren’t present along with Orphan and Ryo.
The key wielder closed his eyes in despair, and his fists clenched. How could they have let this happen? It was only natural that there was always a possibility of losing a trusted comrade in this final battle, but Prinz wouldn't except it. The presence of Thrais soothed his heart though. She was right, and the smile on her face gave him the strength to move on. They would have to avenge Gabriel...The trusted friend who gave his life to free all his companions from their most wanted desires. "Rix is also missing...We'll have to wait for them before we continue on, it's the safest thing to do right now."
