Evangeline looked up at his words, and then silently watched as he moved over towards the piano. As she watched his moves carefully, and with slight admiration of his natrual gracefulness. Evangeline was then taken back in shock at the beautiful music that she was hearing. Though it had a haunting minor tone to it, it was a beautiful piece. When he stopped and frowned, she did at the same time. The piece was so beautiful, why did he have to stop. "Dear Viscount, that was the most beautiful and graceful music I have heard in my life being played." She said, still with the frown that was obviousley now noticble because she didn't want him to stop. She was too distracted by him not only being in the room, but his beautiful playing to even notice that the music from the record had stopped and was sending a thick slience in the room. Her now realization how the viscount was, how intellegent he was and how talented he was mae a big rise of desire to rise within her, and into her brilliant grey eyes. It was strong enough for her to have to look away.

"It's nothing." There was a thin line of roughness to the vampire's smooth voice and he didn't look at Eva. Instead he was looking down at the piano still, staring at its dark mahogany, dust covered wood. "Nothing more than a memory that should have stayed buried." He snapped his hand back to his side from where it had been very lightly touching the piano and turned to look at the woman, as if seeing her for the very first time. "This place is old and empty, filled with servants who hardly remember who they are, let alone what they are supposed to do. It's dusty and cold and home to a vampire, tell me, woman, why would you stay here knowing the dangers that are part of this territory?" His eyes narrowed on her, the feral gold lighting to almost glowing in the faint light of the candles that softly lit the room. A human female should be terrified, sent running back to whatever home she had by creatures such as himself and his servants. He knew she was afraid on some level, he could smell it on her, that sharp, sometimes dangerously intoxicating scent of fear, it lingered on the fringes of her own personal scent. It had been sharp enough to give him a headache last night after she had seen him covered in blood. What could she possibly see in this place that would keep her here? Was the outside so much worse than a possible death by drainage of blood?

Evangeline looked up to him, feeling rather calm, her face hardening in a serious, yet somewhat distant way. "Dear sir, take this as serious, or outright mad, but I would rather much be with a group of a hundred bloodthristy vampires, than to have to go back and look into the murderous, haunting eyes of those who won't listen to a single plea I have. I would rather be stripped of my blood, then have to move from place to place, being outcasted by those of my own race. I would rather have my limbs torn apart slowly instead of being looked down upon like a diseased piece of meat by my own lover and my kinfolk."Eva said as her grey eyes turned sharp with seriousness yet a light twinkle of sadness. "Every night, every night I dream of those golden blazing eyes, lit up by the fire of hatred glaring down at me. I dream every night of the way I had to escape to the woods, falling asleep upon a log only to be waken up by the smell and sight of the wilderness around me being lit on fire. The sounds of the once comforting family and friends now yelling cruel words of hatred and fear. Do you know what it is like to relive those wretched memories every damned night!" She said as her voice started to crack in sadness, tears threatening to break from her eyes, but she was now obviously forcing herself to stay strong. Her face twisted between darkness and sadness. "I can forgive a wild crazed animal ripping off my limbs faster than I can ever forgive, or even feel safe around my own kind" She said and then tore her gaze from him so quickly and turned so sharply that she had to gasp in order to fight the welling sadness in her.

Jozsef held himself back at her words, letting her finish and look away before letting silence stretch over the music room. Only until it was completely silent did he speak. "I know about being cast out, and hunted down. I'm a vampire, Evangaline. To assume that I don't have those memories is folly." It had been a long time since he had been plagued by any nightmares; but he had had several hundred years to get sleep, and she was just a human. She didn't have several hundred years to sleep on it and come to terms with what her family had done to her. His eyelids dropped down a little as he looked at her, ever as stiff as he had been when he first entered the room, and then he bowed to her. "You have free reign of my home, then, lady. Knock before you enter any place exclusively mine." She could stay then, he supposed. She'd end up bored eventually anyway, and she would get over her nightmares, and her family outside would forget about her, and she could leave again. He had eternity to wait for his peace again, he could deal with her for as long as she felt the need to stay.

Eva was silent as she listened to him. As she did, she forced herself to fight back her tears once more, and then nodded at his words. "Yes sir, I will be sure to remember that" She said softly without turnig back to face him. "I shall return to my room then" She said and quietly to human ears walked off to the room that she was staying in. Sure it was only around noon by now, but she was not in the mood now to entertain. As she quietly reached her room, she closed the door behind her and retreated under her covers.

Jozsef stood straight and watched her leave, his face expressionless. He could almost feel the disappointment in the air from her as she disappeared out the door and frowned. She had wanted to stay, hadn't she? Then why was she upset again? He rubbed his neck and looked around the music room, and then up when Sarah slowly peeked her head around the corner to look in.
"Yes?"
"Oh, she's not here anymore..." Sarah slipped into the room fully and brushed off her skirt.
"No. She went back to her room."
"She's staying?"
"Don't sound so surprised."
"Oh, no I..." The maid looked around before slyly looking up from under her eyelashes. "Why is she staying?"
Jozsef frowned. "Why is that important?"
"Just curious." She smiled.
"Go away."
Sarah bowed daintily, "As you wish.."

Eva sighed and curled up under the covers more. She tried to hold back her tears but she couldn't help but let them flow. She was tired of the nightmeres, and she was tired of being rejected. And the one place that she had finally found refuge in, the owner didn't even seem to want her there at all. He may not have said anything, but she had a gut feeling. It was bad enough she was rejected by humans, but being rejected by other races too...was just too much of a blow.
Yet, one thing still bothered her other than rejection, she was rejected by somebody she might have had feelings for.

Jozsef walked into his study, his wet hair pulled back behind him in a half-hearted attempt to look nice and his white shirt mostly open as the water from his shower slowly evaporated off his body. He might have been cold were he human, but the steady coldness of his body did nothing to him. Standing in front of the fire to help the water dry faster, the Viscount stared into the flames and narrowed his eyes at what he saw. Or, he didn’t so much see anything as he felt the presence of another man approaching his solitude. It wasn’t much more than a second later that the door to his study burst open and a loud voice resounded around the room.
“Jozsef, my boy! How are you?”
Turning just in time to see the magician as he rushed forward to try and catch him in a hug, the vampire moved out of the way. “Still alive.”
Hughes had stopped on a pin before he fell into the large hearth and turned with a curious look his face. “Really? But I thought vampires were dead.”
“Undead, which means we’re alive.”
“Interesting.”
“What?”
“You’re explaining things to me. You never explained things before.” Hughes’ eyes lit up and he leaned forward, “It’s that girl you have here, isn’t it?”
The Viscount gave him a hard stare. “What?”
“She’s softened you up! Where is this lovely lady! I simply must meet her and congratulate her and-“
“You will do no such thing.” Jozsef felt a tiny flicker of irritation.
“Oh posh.” Hughes waved his hand at the vampire, as if dismissing him, “Since when do you tell me what I can and cannot do?”
“This is my home, Baron Hughes, and you will listen to me.”
“My my, I see that temper of yours hasn’t changed a bit.” Instead of prancing off to meet the girl, he threw himself into a comfy chair and then smiled. “But I’m not here for a social call, as much as I know that disappoints you.”
Sinking into his own chair, the irritated vampire agreed sarcastically, “I’m terribly disappointed.”
“I knew it. You just love my company.” Hughes chuckled. “But anyway! Let’s go onto more serious business, shall we?” When Jozsef raised an eyebrow to encourage the magician to continue, he plowed forward. “It seems that the new leader in Hungary wants us to bend over and give him tribute and ten virgins a year.”
Jozsef raised his other eyebrow.
“Well, not that literal, but you get it, right? He expects us to give him tribute of some sort, something valuable, once a month, or he’ll come invade us. I told you he wasn’t a good man.”
“I never disagreed.”
“No, but you never agreed either. I do believe you said ‘Let’s wait and see what he does,’ the last time I came over.” Hughes leaned forward, his elbows on his knees. “And now he’s moved so fast that he’s taking over all surrounding areas and he’s demanding that we be part of what he’s doing. I don’t agree with it at all, but there isn’t much we can do at the moment, and without our dear Lord Vlad, we’re in a bit of a pickle, I daresay.”
“We don’t need Vlad to take care of a man who is power hungry.” Jozsef leaned back. “Let him rest with his memories.”
“Well you see… the problem there is that we do.”((I guess we’ll just move forward about a week, and now it’s evening, Jozsef just woke up and took a shower and now this is going on. :D I thought I should stop before I get too far into it. XD))

Eva hummed gently to herself as she dusted the walls in the hallway, reaching up as far as she could go. During the week she had been sure to avoid the Viscount as much as possible, even silently leaving when she saw him in a room though she knew he could probably hear her anyway. She was greatful that he allowed her to stay, but she felt the need to earn her stay there instead of just lounging around, plus there wasn't much to do in the castle that she could do by herself. For a little through, she had been avoiding everyone that she could, quietly going into her work and then quietly going to bed.
Now that she finished with the walls, she slowly went down the hall towards where the study was, dusting up things that needed to be dusted and straightening things that needed to be straightened.

Jozsef frowned. "What do you mean 'we need Vlad'?"
"I heard that this man will only listen to him."
"He's dead, Hughes."
"But this man doesn't believe us." The magician ran his hand through his hair as much as he could and fixed his dual colored eyes on the vampire. "He seems to have come to the conclusion that you are our dear Lord Vlad."
Jozsef settled back in his chair, his eyes narrowed on the blond man in front of him. "Where did he get this idea?"
Hughes shrugged. "You're old, you're a vampire, you never leave your home and the paintings of our Lord Vlad actually do look similar to you... you're just a bit smoother and less smirk-y than he was."
Jozsef Noir sighed, leaning forward and folding his long fingers together. "This is troublesome."
"That's what I said, but he didn't want to listen to me, you know. Just wants to talk to you. So! I was thinking about that dinner idea-"
"No, Hughes." Jozsef stood up, his feral gold eyes narrowed. "I will not have that man in my home."
Hughes stood up as well, extending his hands in a gesture of helplessness. "He invited himself over, Jozsef, you don't have a choice. If you refuse everyone that he has under his power will be directed to your home first and... you, I'm afraid, even if you are one of the oldest vampires left alive, would not survive." He took the few steps forward it took to stand right before the stiff man, and then bowed to him. "Please, Jozsef. This is all we can do for now."
He stared hard at the magician, his frown deepened and darkened before he turned away. "Gareth."
"Of course."
Jozsef threw the book he was reading into the fire and stood staring at it broodily as it was devoured by the flames. "When?"
"Tomorrow night."

Eva had caught small bits of the conversation to hear the words 'dinner' and 'tomorrow night'. So there was to be a dinner and she supposed the Viscount was invited. It didn't bug her...much. Something struck her as soon as she thought that, there was somebody else there instead of the Viscount!
Eva shook her head then gave a cute, small sneeze. She wiped a tear from her eye from the sneeze then shook her head again to clear it. She walked up to the doors of the study, contimplating weather or not she should knock to see if anything needed to be cleaned, then she remembered she shouldn't really go into there. She started to walk by.

Hughes threw open the doors to the study before Eva could go far, moving more swiftly than Jozsef could stop him. "Ah! You must be the lovely lady that Jozsef is hiding here for himself!" He smiled brightly, charmingly, and strode forward to sweep the human girl into his arms and spin her around before planting a good, solid kiss on her cheek. "You smell like flowers on a spring day! Come in, come in! We have plans to make and you're part of them!" He ushered her into the study, ignoring the glare from the vampire who was sitting in his chair by the fire with his favorite book burning behind him.

A deep set blush formed in after the initial shock of somebody popping out from the study so suddenly. "Oh! I um...but..okay" She said shyly as she was spun and kissed, which resulted in a slightly deeper blush. Eva was ushered into the study and she gave a quick, slightly confused glance at the Viscount.
