Larksparrow could barely keep from herself from purring at Plumkit's eagerness and the curiosity in his wide eyes. She set the honeycomb gently down on some leaves, carefully avoiding the moss beds and dusty earth. The honey had matted the fur on her muzzle and she carefully licked her paw and swiped at the golden substance a few times before answering.
"It's honey, and it's very sweet. Quite different from meat. We don't find it that often and I thought I'd see if you kits wanted to share it before a warrior gobbled it up."
Larksparrow met Darkkit's eyes, trying to see what emotions lingered there. The kit seemed so distant. She wasn't like the other children, who still felt the most important things in life were fun, food, and warmth. She seemed older than her siblings somehow, and part of that made the medicine cat feel a pang of sadness.
Growing up was painful. Disappointing.
There was no way Darkkit had enjoyed life as a kit as much as she should have been allowed.
Larksparrow shut down her thoughts as the kit picked up the snake, remembering the young cat talking with Foxtrot. She didn't have to pity a kit who couldn't take a minute from playing with a mouse brained half clan cat to greet her.
There were too many other wonderful kits here for her be upset. They'll become honorable warriors who respect the warrior code, she mentally reminded herself. She would look out for them.
Larksparrow's ears twitched at Moonstar's mew.
"You seem tired," she commented. "Your kits are old enough for you to be away for a patrol or two. Maybe the fresh air will do you good."

"I'd love to, Larksparrow, but some of them still need me. There hasn't been any other queen in here for moons, so I wouldn't have anyone to watch them..."

((I hope you dont mind if i join in for a bit ^^))
HeartPool stretched slightly.LarkSparrow had basically taken over looking in on moonstar. But as a medicine cat maybe she should go take a peek in. Moving slowly but gracefully she moved to the nursery and smiled in stepping lightly in until she saw larksparrow and her smile faltered for a moment. "I think Larksparrows right... A bit of fresh air may do you some good." She sat a little away. "If you ever want to i would be happy to watch your kits." Although she had seen the kits before she really hadn't met any of them but then again. she didn't want larksparrow to think she was second guessing her...

I guess I should probably just go now, perhaps I'll find a warrior to go hunting with. Silverpaw got up and began to pad over to the entrance.

Darkkit looked over to the leaving Silverpaw. Why did all the cats she liked leave so soon?!
"It would be nice, but I need to take care of them myself. When they're older, you can watch them, Heartpool."

HeartPool felt her skin flush. "I know i just ment if you wanted to get a bit of air is all." She looked at Larksparrow and then to her paws. She was such a stupid medicine cat. "If your alright in here i think ill go hunting... unless there is anything you or your kits would like." She offered a smile while kneeding the ground self-conscientiously

"I would be available to watch them as well," Larksparrow mewed, her nose twitching slightly in annoyance at the thought of Heartpool being chosen over her.
"Surely Chaosstar wouldn't mind spending a day with them?" she asked, hoping Moonstar wouldn't take offense at her prodding. What Chaosstar did or didn't do in the raising of his kits was none of her business, but he seemed to enjoy the visits and his presence might put Moonstar at ease.

During this exchange between the three cats, Plumkit was edging closer and closer to the honey, encouraged by Larksparrow's warm response. He reached out a paw to pat the honeycomb - and squeaked. Sticky! He jerked his paw back, but the honey stuck fast like a burr.
Plumkit let out a low whimper. "Stop that." he ordered it. The honey ignored him. His actions became more and more frantic; the black kit whirled and flailed the afflicted foot, and at last, with a stroke of genius, reached down and tore it off with his teeth, flinging it to one side.
'Hey, it tastes really good!'
He savored the taste, quite unaware the honey had continued flying. The flash of gold caught his eye. Plumkit gasped in horror as it struck Larksparrow on the side of the head.

Silverpaw stopped seeing the honey hit Larksparrow, he sat down to watch, he had to see this. On the outside he had a monotone-face but on the inside he was cracking up.

Larksparrow froze as the honeycomb contacted with her fur. The stunned cat stared blankly for a moment and then hooked the snack with a claw, flicking it casually to the ground in front of Plumkit once more. Her tail lashed back and forth a few times as she tried to paw at the fur the substance had stained golden.
"Now why couldn't you have tossed it somewhere I could reach?" she mewed, irritated but pleased at Plumkit's antics. He at least seemed normal, unlike Darkkit.

The kit froze in place. Even the fact Larksparrow wasn't spitting fury didn't unfreeze him. Only when she flicked the honey down did he move - his muscles automatically pouncing for the moving thing. Got it!
"I didn' do it on purpose." he protested, glad she wasn't too upset. He bit down into the honeycomb and squinched his eyes shut in pleasure. It wasn't long before they snapped open again.
He stuck his tongue out at her, showing the wad of white fur clinging to it. "You made it furry!"

Ebonykit crawled over to her mother and curled up beside her. "I don't want mommy to leave. I'm glad she won't go like you guys say, why are you trying to get my mother to leave?" Ebonykit eyed them in a mocked suspicion.
She wasn't sure what else to do, she didn't want to play pounce or sleep or eat, and the attention was not on her at the moment so she just stared at the cats around her.

Silverpaw got up again, he was looking for a different reaction, but that was alright, he sighed seeing Ebonykit eye them all with mock suspicion. It's good to be close to your family but don't get too attached... thats what makes you weak, because you have a disadvantage. He padded out of the nursery.

Darkkit outright laughed, not only at Larksparrow, but her 'fat' brother. This made her oblivious to Silverpaw. "See? Told ya!"
After apologizing to Larksparrow, Moonstar turned to Ebonykit. "Because, I'm a leader, and I need to take care of the Clan like you will soon. I can't watch you forever."

Ebonykit flattened her ears and looked at her mother. "I know, but can't I have you while I'm a kit? I'll loose your attention soon enough, don't take it from me now." Ebonykit looked sad yet true in her words. Even as a kit she understood that her mother was important, but she wanted her mother and felt it was her right to keep her company till she grew.
