Both tired and hot the boys tredged on through the sad. Lavi had just decided that he would constantly keep a hand on Raine to hold him up if he fell. As they reached the crest of a huge sand dune. Raine suddenly pulled himself free and shot up in the air. Jumping up and out so that he fell at least five feet and tumbled into the sand. "Ah! Raine what the hell are you doing!" Lavi jumped after him to see if he was okay.

"Lavi, Lavi! I saw the village that way!" He pointed off into the distance sure enough a huge sort of rock figure stood on the horizon.

"Huh! Oh yeah!" Lavi grabbed the small boy and thre him over his shoulders. Even though the back pack was in his way, Raine sat on top of it smiling like a mad man. Lavi jumped up at least 20 feet, just above a crest of a dune. He slip down the dune as if he were surfing a giant sand wave. Once again he jumped up Flying through the dry air. The boys let out woots and calls that sounded like wild animals.

So close now they could almost taste it. Lavi hopped again and again, from dunes until there was nothing but thick dry mud that cracked and caked on the ground. He could only run now, it was still exceptionally fast and the air whipped back their hair. The closer they got the greater it became. Large and more magnificent like a mountain it grew from the earth.

The village gates loomed only a few dozen feet away. The boys smiled and giggled. Raine pulled himself from Lavi's grasp. I've got to walk proudly now as a Tekkenseisai." he pushed the weight on his wrists up and rubbed off a bit of sand from the golden fist. They each took their steps closely. Still tired and thirtsy they drained their water bottles before they entered. Guards stood, Raine walked up bravely and showed them his invitation. They let him pass, and They stepped into the village.

His search of the village gates was made quick and painless by the guards on stand by. Not wanting to seem suspicious from his snooping about, he showed them his mission papers and Student ID. They were quite happy to explain to him that they'd seen nothing like that in the vicinity, nor had the guards they'd relieved. Normally he might have suspected it merely escaped their notice, but if normal villagers could sense how dangerous this item was, then these Chuunin would most certainly.

Thanking them for their prudent help he turned round and headed back to the village. He looked serious now, the sun was starting to vanish over the horizon and it most certainly was nearing the night time hours, the way things were going, unless he got lucky, which he wouldn't count on, he'd be finishing his search in the dark. He adjusted his glasses framed as he quickened his pace, taking off into an accelerated sprint a non ninja would have found impressive, he would try and cover as much ground as he could before the inevitable night fall... now he'd search the outskirts...

((Leaving for Village outskirts...))

Sujin stood at the gates, looking out over the endless flat expanses of land that was the land of rice. Far off a head of him was the land of fire. He had been there several times on missions. A ghastly place. Far off in the horizon a dot poked up, and sujin stood to his full height. It was probably this mission that he would have to deal with. The boy sighed, at least he was protecting a model. After a long while the dot became bigger and it appeared that she was being drawn in a sort of carriage pulled by a man, who was large and buff. They came up to the gate, and Sujin waved to the guard that they were his burden. Taking a step up the large man stopped, and the behind a dark fabric that protected this model from the sun a figure moved. The ninja approached and large man growled at him. He paid no mind to him, stepping up to the dark fabric. "A flower so delicate, should not hide from the sun, for she will not blossom." The man gave him a glare but he didn't mind once more. A thin graceful finger escaped from the carriage and pulled away the fabric shading her. She definitely looked delicate. He thought taking a deep breath. The women bat her eyelashes at the young boy, who stood tall before her.

"A peot. I was expecting a shinobi." The model spoke so elegantly that one cut cut her words with a needle. He looked her in the eyes.

"My name is Kakuro Sujin. I assure you that I am a skilled shinobi of the sound, capable of protecting you." The women bat her eyes once more.

"No doubt, Sujin... I'm sure you will be able to protect me, Yukia Atiatso, the Princess of Oto." She boasted of herself and her renown. Yes, Sujin knew of her and had seen her pictures before, but they were nothing a princess would ever consent to. He almost rolled his eyes. The girl was so horrible, he instantly decided on giving Kasuke a good knock when he got back. "And this is my carrier, Krog." The man in front growled as if it were his introduction, his description of carrier was quiet literal, and Sujin just turned.

"Follow me then Krog."

Raine and Lavi walked side by side through the now busy dirt road leading straight to the heart of the sound. The massive gates growing off in the distance, Raine worried a bit about his new pet jiggling about in his pack. Lavi still hadn't noticed he had taken the small animal and hoped it would be that, way. As they finally stepped toward the gate the two guards greeted them recognizing both of them, and Raine ran forward hopping up and landing with two hard feet in the oto boundaries. Twirling around he sung, "I'm back! I'm back home I'm back!" Lavi laughed graciously at the small boy and felt the cool breeze of something other than the desert. They both sighed stepping up the main road, Lavi robbed Raine's head.

"Go on boy, I'll catch up later. I'm off to see the kage again, maybe this time she'll be in." with that he hopped away and Raine was left in the busy street, bandages wrapped around his neck peeking out of his shirt and he smiled out at the people around him. He was home! Raine flung out his arms and ran through the streets like an air plane.

Raine walked to the village gates, his scroll in hand, and his backpack now filled with water and snacks lay on his back. His Aian Nakkurru tied to a small thread at his waist. Today he had taken a chance and changed from his usual black t shirt to a white shirt that went down to his elbows, and was trimmed with black.

His mom hadn't been home last night, probably staying with Raito again. He had newly bandaged his shoulders and a small strip came up from the collar of his shirt.

The small boy stepped to the massive gate, just outside a small outpost where two chunin sat looking bored. Raine looked around waiting for this stranger he was to accompany.

A very short old man comes walking very slowly clinging to his wooden cane, wearing a common black hakama and a kimono like top with a sakkat covering most of his head, the old man moves closer and closer with each small step. Once he was next to the young man. As the old man reaches his side, Raine can notice that the old man was carrying a wooden back back on his back, the back pack had a symbol similar to the old Feng chui ying yang used by the Chinese wizards.

Moving his cane to poke Raine on the toe the old man feel like he needed to draw some attention to himself. After doing so he speaks in a very low tone:

"You....are going to escort me son ?" -cough cough- "If so...we better get going....my grand daughter needs this medicine..."

The small boy couldn't have expected more. No wonder Aoshiro didn't want to take this mission, slugs would be sleeping faster than they would be traveling, but he smiled none the less this could be a peaceful walk if nothing else.

"Yes, I'm Tekkenseisai Raine. I'm gonna protect you." he said stepping after the old man, careful to not walk too fast.

"Is your granddaughter sick?"
PostPosted: Fri Aug 21, 2009 4:05 pm

The old man takes a few steps forward before answering to the kid. He was weak indeed and too old to even do much by himself.

"Oh...yes yes...i been searching for medicines and curative herbs from many lands but none could ever heal her, until I meet that young lady with the indigo cloths and red eyes...she gave me a special medicine that would save my grand daughter, but but but"

The old man stops to rub his back and regain his breath bowing forward while holding himself to the wooden cane.

"Some bandits want to steal my medicine...they don't want my daughter and grand daughter to live cause they are a treat to their plans"

The boy was about at the same size as his older companion and he looked over toward his eye. Interested now. Bandits, plans?

"Well... Don't worry sir. I'll protect you from bandits. That's my job. I promise I won't let anything happen to that medicine." Raine smiled binding himself to this promise. Besides how hard could a few thugs be to beat. They stepped out across the long road, Raine led him onto a side road, that went east up towards the mountains. They had to walk a while through the rice fields before they got to the small trees popped from the edges of Kumo Forest.

Sujin had jumped, landing on top of the Oto gate. He looked out past the fields, into the distance. His feet felt like lead. The guards below waved up to him, assuming he was going on a mission. But far above anyone could have seen that he did not intend on returning. Sujin steadied himself to keep from falling such a long way. Though as his mind shook few thoughts broke through and he had already jumped. Feeling the cool autumn wind against his face he hit the ground hard. Unlike anytime he had before. He felt his ankles twist and pain shuddered up through his bones. the guards were no longer waving and laughing, but staring at him. One stood to see if he needed help, but Sujin quickly rose. There was no pain compared to what he had just felt. Walking forward tears sept down his face. He was leaving home forever....

Sujin turned to the south of oto, on a path that would take him back through the mountain. He didn't know where he was going, but he knew the ocean was the other way and that would bring him nowhere. He wanted to walk forever. But now here on the road, where he was getting dangerously close to the village on the south side where his house once was. The boy couldn't held sprinting as fast as he could go. Even cutting up through the trees and skipping parts of the path that zigzagged up. He was heaving and crying once more. Wailing up into the rising sun. He couldn't even see now where he was going, his mind refused to process the information and he stumbled falling often. Quickly becoming bruised and beaten.

As He went Sujin felt himself become more frantic still gasping for air. He had returned to the path and was running frantically across the dirt road, which snaked through the trees and ran into the green area. Behind oto. He ran and ran, until he could run no more, he had no more air to give. And he had Oto at his back. Now unable to see over the mountain that held it. Sujin slowed, still shaking so frantically that he had to feel every step in front of him. Grabbing at the air in front of him, Sujin stumbled his head aching and shaking like nothing he had ever felt. Soon he stopped completely, staring up into the leaves. He had no clue were he was, nor did he care, all he could feel was the band at his waist. An overwhelming weight of betrayal fell on his shoulders. Sujin was so conflicted as to turn back to his duty of back to his... his family. No. He had no family now. So he continued to walk, his shattered mind taking him to anywhere.

sujin pressed on, his vision blurred and his mind racing through everything that had happening, shaking in his head so that he couldn't focus and a splitting headache was holding on to him. He could help but cry as he went, tears seeping from his unseeing eyes. Soon Sujin found himself gasping for breath so furiously that he was hyperventilating and feel quickly to the ground. So broken and mentally unstable that he could barely hold in his stomach. He screamed into the wilderness and flung himself around on the ground, until the blur that was his vision became black and Sujin lay down to cry. Facing the sky and gasping each breath before he finally took a deep breath and let his eyes close.
