Seren couldn't think straight any longer. Her heart was racing, and her head was reeling over what she'd just done, but at least now he knew, and she would wait for him to make the next move. She'd waited this long afterall, what's a little longer? "Family is the most important thing there is. My Family's always been there for me when they could, I like to think I'm always there for them when they need me too."

"Yeah, Pops says you're really close to all of them." It felt like he was swinging his fins foolishly, not really knowing what to do with himself now. He hadn't felt this awkward and gangly since he was a fry; what was it about this woman that made him feel like a bumbling boy? He wasn't sure what to do now, whether she thought he was babbling, what that kiss was all about. Cy had seen plenty of other betas in the area kissing each other on the cheek. Hell, even Burberry would peck those she was on speaking terms with, though it certainly wasn't affectionately. Maybe Seren just came from a family of physicially affectionate fish? He sure didn't want to overjudge her meaning, and then embarrass himself even further than he already had.

"I am.." Seren couldn't think of any thing else to say. She didn't want to embarass herself or seem like she was throwing herself at him, but she didn't think that he had understood her. "A handsome pony like you must have girls falling over you all the time, despite what Echo says."

Cy blushed a bit, then shrugged modestly. "I guess, though I don't really notice too much. They tend to make a bigger deal out of Pops than they do me." He bent down to scoop up a few bits of shell off the ocean floor, then straightened up, ears twitching to toss back his upper fin from where it had fallen over said ears. And then, just to make a point, "You're the one who said Echo has to drive suitors off you."

"They're unwanted.. I never asked for them, and I definitely don't think I'm pretty enough to have them. Echo is, but not me." Seren blushed, feeling a little insecure now at revealing more than she normally would have. She felt exposed, but with Cy it wasn't a bad thing. She somehow knew he'd never make fun of her for it or use it to hurt her.

The fin that wasn't holding the shells reached out instinctively, touching the side of her face. "I really can't believe you don't think you're pretty enough to attract damn near every male in the ocean." His eyes met hers, but the need to convince her that she was crazy to think otherwise outweighed the possibility of embarrassment. "And a few outside it, I bet, too."

Seren laid her cheek against his fin, soaking in the warmth from it, her head close to reeling again. "I just don't see it. My sister's are beautiful, my brothers too. I'm the odd one out." She met his eyes, studying the deep pink depths of them.

"I'm sure not a one of them is as beautiful as you." What he couldn't put into words definitely showed in his eyes, staring back into her golden orbs as he was. He longed so much to just sweep her into his embrace, but kept that impulse in check. Barely so, but there it was.

Seren inched closer to him, lost in his eyes, wishing to be in his fins. She couldn't reply to what he had said for fear of sounding stupid, instead she leaned forward, her lips inches from his.

And whatever self-control he might have gotten from his mother was instantly washed away by his father's instincts to seize the moment and kiss the girl, damn it. Almost as if in a daze, Cy's lips found hers, and before he realized it, she was indeed swept up in his fins.

The world stopped spinning and everything froze in that moment around them. Seren lost all train of thought the moment his lips met hers. It felt as if they'd been made for each other, everything about it felt so right. Seren finally had to pull slightly away to catch her breath.

Cy had to physically restrain himself from following her as she pulled back, every bit of the pony in him wanting to keep that kiss up. He paused as well, not daring to open his eyes, until finally he couldn't wait any longer, and did so, almost cautiously. "You, eh... You alright?"

"Fine... Great.. Amazing..." Seren leaned back in to continue kissing him. If she got her way she'd never stop. She wound her fins around him, lost in his smell, his taste, his touch.

Okay, that was good enough for him, and he returned the expression, easily enfolding her in his fins.
And as joyous as his daughter's glee was making him, Mect couldn't help but notice the goings-on over in the area of his son, which made him grin even broader, though still swinging Echo about.

End Chapter 4

 Seren sped through the water in the direction of her love's home. He had told her he had a surprise for her, and she wanted to get there as soon as possible. Her new arms and body helped her to move faster than she had as a fish. She enjoyed the feeling of arms, you could do so much more with them. "Hurry Echo. We don't want to be late, your brother might think I forgot about him.""And we don't ever want him to think that...." Echo was sick of Seren talking about her brother. It was all she ever talked about now, love had totally and completely ruined her for social conversation. She swam behind Seren on the way to her father's house, keeping up easily with the other female.
