((I'm gonna take a guess at the blue glow. Tell me if I'm wrong.))
Roque saw Kinu move away and come in close for some kind of attack. 'Good, get me on the defensive.' He thought to himself. He specialized in defensive tactics, armours mostly. The theory behind his techniques being that if you are sufficiently protected, you don't have to worry about being hit. It didn't work out sometimes, but he had faith. One time that it didn't work out very well was this instance. Kinus' electrical charge bit into the front of his calf, just above his foot. His thick skin counted for nothing as the chakra paralized his muscle. When his first foot came to the ground, he couldn't stop his momentum in time before bringing down his other foot. With the force he put behind his attack and his newly cut muscles trying to bear the weight of his useless foot coming down, he couldn't stop. His right foot buckled without the supportive musculature and Roque found the ground rushing toward his face at surprising speed. The grass was little comfort as he flipped through it like a man falling down a mountain. He came to a stop roughly twelve feet from where his first foot had left a sizable print. A grass-less trail led from it to Roque, where the Iwagakure chuunin sat with arms back and a large grin. His face was covered in dirt and his hair was polka dotted with grass. The cat that usually road atop the blond mess was clearly visible behind the sitting ninja. She seemed to be quite a bit larger and by far more armed than usual though. A snow white mountain lion stood with claws bared and a wakazashi in her mouth glared at Kinu through small black granny glasses. The rumble of a growl could be heard from across the small distance. "Now now Kiesel. No need to get all upset." Roque said with an air of playfulness. The large cat made a sound that may have been a sigh or may have been a snort. Regardless, the lioness became a little white kitten once more and found herself atop the blood mess of hair. "Sorry about that. Kiesel can get defensive." Roque said, getting up on his left foot. "So where were we?" He dusted himself off and smiled up at Kinu. "Right, right. Well, I can't fight like this." He pouted at his right foot that hung loosely over the ground. "But I'll fix it... temporarily." He made hand signs, tiger, ox, snake, ox, then put his hands out in front of him and pulled them in. With that action, he was covered in dirt and rock from head to toe. His other foot came down on the ground as if it had never been damaged. "Mountain armour no-jutsu. In theory, I can move my body by moving this rock and dirt. Takes a little more effort, but hey." He shrugged. "Your turn to come at me." He took a boxing stance and waited for Kinus' attack.

Ran was still sitting atop the wall, watching the going-ons of everything. She noted that the other Kirigakure-nin used Senbon, as well. She made a note to save any bone-senbon she created, though they might be a little lighter than regular metal senbon. Still, it was probably better for the other female if she didn't have to buy more senbon.
From her vantage point, Ran also noticed two clouds of dust racing to the training grounds. Shapes appeared as they got closer, and she soon was able to spot her team mates. Glancing down at the shadows of the nearby tree's, she partially guessed it was close to lunch time. With a sigh and a cough, she jumped from the wall, and landed on her feet. She headed over to Isaaku and Batafurai, giving another cough, though it was partially to have them notice her, more than anything.
Kae yawned and stretched, finally done with paperwork. Her stomach grumbled, and she gave it a pat, before glancing around where she was. "I wonder where my Chuunin have gone off to?" she asked herself, and started heading towards the training grounds- just in case. Maybe she'd treat them to some Ramen, or something. They hadn't complained about their meals while on mission, so they shouldn't mind the noodly dish. Scratching her stomach, she made her way through town casually, smiling and saying hello to people she knew. She even paused, on occasion, to examine some shopkeepers' wears. She wasn't in a hurry, but wanted to get something to eat, soon.

Shinji sat silently, polishing off his soup and absorbing the conversation. It was evident that he had a lot of training ahead of him, before this could truly be called a "team." Meanwhile, Shinji thought, I'll need to pay close attention to my teammates' mannerisms. I've got to do my part to help speed up this acclimation. We need to become as good a team as possible in as quick a time as possible.
When the twins asked about dessert, Shinji nodded slightly and replied, "Sure. Dessert would be a great idea."

Batafurai smiled at Isaaku, noticing the clap of thunder but deciding to ignore it. She looked around, tapping her chin and clicking her tongue, she pointed to a random spot and screamed, "That-a way!" As she heard a cough, the Kumo-nin whizzed around to see their team-mate Ran. Unfortunately, her arm was still held out pointing and it only just missed her nose. "Oopsies, sorry Ran!" she blurred, bonking herself on the head with her once pointing hand. "Do you know where the Ramen shop is?"

Ran flinched and tipped her head back as a hand swirled towards her- the cause of said hand missing her. She frowned to herself a little, but that faded as she was apologized to. At the question, she glanced around, for a moment, and then shook her head. "The guide failed to inform me of its' location." she murmured. "Sorry." she peeked back to see where Kinu and Roque were still fighting, and wondered if she would get to hear about who was the victor. Well, if Kinu returned to their shared apartment with the book, then she'd know.

"Excellent, we're having cheesecake. It's one of the better ones." The twins didn't exactly like showing off their wealth like this, but they needed to let their team know exactly who they were. In return, they expected the truth from them.

"Ooh, cheesecake!" Mayumi said, clapping her hands excitedly like a little girl. Indeed that luxuries like this were rare and very much savored by jounins, since most of the time she was out on one mission or another. She wiped her lips with the clean napkin and set down the chicken that was nearly finished, but not quite.
"I do have to tell you guys however, that if worse comes to worst, then we might actually have a mission as soon as tomorrow," she warned them, "and I can only hope that we can work it out as we go along."

"Dang it," Batafurai commented, swirling herself around to have a look. "Didn't Yuki-sensei show us back at the farm? We could go back to that spot and have a look.." She began to look around attentively, trying to see the shop from there.

((Kinu uses electricity, so the blue glow wasn't a blade but a charge of electricity formed by loading up chakra in the palm. However even though it doesn't cut the muscle, it does paralyze it temporarily, which would give a similar result as you described. No permanent damage though... Kinu wouldn't cut off someone's muscle in a spar, since an injury like that could take months to heal.))
It hit that easily? The impact of her very simple move surprised Kinu and threw her slightly off. Good thing Roque was as hard as a rock though, since he wouldn't take much damage even if he took a direct hit from her. Besides, she had only aimed for his leg, hardly a vital part of his body.
The cat worried Kinu slightly. Obivously it wasn't a normal cat, more like something that reminded her of a summon. What exactly was the role of the animal? Was it a fighting tool for Roque? Or was it something more than that? Or just a guardian as Roque seemed to have indicated? She decided to leave the pondering for later, as this was hardly the time or place for it.
The whole thing about attacking straight on wasn't really a method Kinu prefered though, but despite this she decided to do so, it was only a spar after all, a match for training and improving. Even though it didn't seem like it, she was actually a long range fighter who much rather would have hid in a tree shooting well aimed needles at her opponents. It wouldn't work on this teammate though, since he seemed to be way too rough skinned. So she opted for a strategy of more close range combat and since she hit once with her simple Chuusuusei Biribiri modification, she could perhaps continue on that same line. Well, at least until Roque decided to show another side of himself or the lioness started interfering.
So Kinu accepted her opponent's invitation and started running forwards towards him. When she was only a few feet from him she suddenly disappeared and reappeared another feet to the left of him, utilising her quick speed. From here she quickly spun around giving momentum to her right hand which was aimed palm first at Roque's upper torso. The closer it got to him, the more brightly blue her palm shone, giving a warning that a hit could perhaps hurt a little after all.

The twins smiled in Mayumi's direction when she clapped her hands so excitedly. It was reminiscent of a child at Christmas-time. Then, she told them about the mission. As they weren't genins, they were used to the idea of being on missions without a moment's notice. They quickly regained their host-like attitudes.
"Now, we insist, you must be our guests this evening. We have plenty of room."

((Fixed!))
Roque could feel Kinu run at him. The pounding of her feet against the soft earth that separated them. It was a skill that Roque had developed, much like other Iwagakure nin, to be able to 'see' through vibration. It came into effect most often when traveling underground where sight has little enough use. Roque used it whenever he used his mountain armour since his eyes were covered along with the rest of his body. The vibration disappeared for a second, then appeared to Roques left. 'Fast lady.' he thought for a second as he tried to feel and see the movements of her body. 'Spinning around. Where are her hands?' He felt with patient calm. 'There, one hand coming in. It's aimed at my chest.' The offending hand looked to be fuzzy, vibrating abnormally. 'Chakra. Like when she attacked my leg. Can't let that hit my chest, may take out a decent junk of my strength.' Roque thought about dodging for a moment, but dismissed the notion. Kinu was by far faster than Roque and she could adjust. He decided on sacrificing another limb instead. Roque brought his left hand up to meet with Kinus' hand. The slight parry managed to grab onto the blue glowing hand. Roque could feel the charge go through his arm, twitching at his muscles. Something was odd though. 'That hurt.' He pirked one stone clad eyebrow. 'But I can still move my arm?' He looked down at his arm and flexed experimentally. He kept Kinus' hand in a stony grip. "Are you sure you're going all out?" Roque asked. "'Cause that hurt, but my arm is just..." He looked up and surprised, as if something had grabbed his attention. "Oh man!" He chuckled, his face cracking into a smile. "My armour is made of rock and dirt." He said as if explaining his chuckle. "It doesn't conduct electricity well. Most of you charge was insulated against. It would seem that we are sincerely mismatched." He grinned, keeping Kinus' hand firmly. He brought his other hand up to his face and peeled back the dirt and rock as if it were a mask. "So, do you want to continue from here, or do you want to get some lunch?" He asked with a smile.

For a moment Kinu's eyes widened as Roque didn't let go of her arm despite being charged, but quickly she collected her calm again. His grip was due to his strenght a bit painful and she was after being stopped in the middle of the movement twisted in a position that wasn't exactly comfortable for her.
"You know being this mismatched is certainly rare, but in a team it could even be considered useful. Guess that means we're lucky?" This short speaking brake helped Kinu assess the situation. Certainly his odd earth skills eliminated most of her advantages and took out almost all her attack options, she had never encountered anything like it before. However she had wished to see a little more of his ability before finishing. Can't be helped I'm afraid, can't come up with a new move and he's got my arm pinned down. An arrow of pain shot from her elbow to her shoulder as she moved just a little, her twisted arm reminding her of her uncomfortable position.
"Eh, sure, if you say so." Kinu wanted to end her sentence with a shrug, but she concluded that a movement like that wouldn't be very wise. As she quickly glanced at her locked arm, she grinned and continued.
"I saw a nice looking ramen shop on the way over here, fancy checking it out?"

"Ah, cheesecake," Shinji remarked airily. "One of the few foods I have yet to master. You may not have guessed it about me, but I do my fair share of cooking in what little free time I have. Food helps bring excitement to an otherwise dull house." He stared up at the ceiling thoughtfully.
Like the twins, Shinji was used to the idea of missions without notice. When the Genjutsu specialists insisted that they stay for the evening, he looked down from the ceiling and said, "That's fine with me. Maybe I could take a look around this house of yours. It's quite beautiful."

"As long as you guys are okay with it, I'm fine with it too," said Mayumi, "being able to stay in a house like this doesn't come too often."
She smiled and took a bite of cheesecake. Her face was an expression of delight as she savored it slowly.
"Oh yeah, mind if you guys let me take a shower or something?" she asked, "I kinda worked up a sweat earlier; I admit that you guys are pretty good for your level."

Yuki casually walked towards the afore-mentioned ramen shop, taking the scenic route. Konoha is a much more vibrant and verdant area than Oto is... I hope my genin will remember where I pointed. Otherwise I'll be dining alone... I wonder how the other squads are faring The sun was almost exactly overhead, so Yuki quickened and took a more direct path. Coming upon a navigating a dingy alley, he spotted a pile of rusty metal left in random heaps. Whoever left this probably wouldn't mind if... Stopping, he placed his hand on one of the pieces. Concentrating for a second, he unsupressed his chakra flow. The metal rattled a little and became a puddle surrounding his feet. Now, to separate the rust Standing quickly while spinning, the metal crawled up his body, slowly giving him a larger bo. Soon, all the metal had been acquired and the rust was left on the ground in a ruddy-colored mound. Having finished his quick excercise, he moved at a great velocity toward the ramen shop.

Tonbo finished the second kanji with another brush-stroke. The slip of paper now read 'Ton-Bo,' his name. It's curious how my name when written in kanji is the same as that for dragonfly.
His clones were still scattered about performing their tracking duties. It seemed that most of them were getting ready for or head already commenced consuming their mid-day meal.
