Babbalui Mat Babbalui That's the issue. I have a 4th that I bought less than a month before 5th. I'm pissed and not investing in something like that again, since I have NO money and I am attending a $25,000 college with little financial aid. Any college student in that situation in here can understand that dilemma. wink As for buying the rulebook, I'll get on that this summer when I can work again and I'm out of school. Until then, I just learn the rules as I go at GW and I do need clarification as to what has changed from 4th. I do know the rules to an extent and own a rule book. It's just outdated and my known rules aren't always correct. I asked for clarification from rules that I was unsure about, but had previous experience with in 4th. There are no terms for lawsuit on clarification of a known rule. your in college less booze and babe more 40k. Donate plasma or something man Hahahahaha!! That just made my day. Thank you. I'll look into that. Unfortunately, I don't drink and I'm STILL BROKE! Plasma, though... It almost sounds appealing. xp Heck, I'd be able to afford a rule book!!! *Le Gasp!!!* Yup. Two weeks of selling plasma at most centers will net you enough for Assault on Black Reach and either two boxes of models or a pair of codices.

Sperms sounds less draining, in a health-sense, anyways. wink Anyways, back to topic.... Yeah, I'll have to get me some rules when I get the money. I have other, more pressing issues at hand, so they're going to have to wait. sweatdrop

You could be a bad boy and be a pirate untill you have cash to get the new codex.
Otherwise, EBAY MAN! I've seen plenty of below 5$ rulebooks there! Seriously, give it a thought, don't be such a scaredy-cat mate.

Hey, you're not supposed to endorse that business on here! =>Though I don't have any objection to doing that whatsoever.<=

Define a pirate? ;D
Pirates can borrow codexes and rulebooks, can they not? Sharing is caring you know, me myself is borrowing the Daemons codex from a friend untill I can buy it off from him.
I'm not encouraging downloading... rolleyes
BUT! I might have an idea for our non-rulebook friend... I just need to check through some boxes at home and see if I have what I hope I do...

You used a bad wording then Shin. Piracy implies stealing, raping and plundering, not borrowing. The Coast Guard borrows, those are the guys you were looking for.

hey, i was wondering. what kind of cover save does a unit get when the attackers can only see their heads? i was playing a match, and i was planning on shooting at some scouts from more than 6" behind a chest high wall. and all i could see from eye level was their heads. i can see more than half (which as the rules say, get no cover whatsoever) or is it more than half, full sight (no hidden arms etc) so anyways. does it count as no cover? 4+ cover? or what makes more sense, like a 2+ cover (ridiculously good, but realistic in my mind nonetheless)

yes, i understand that this situation has a bit of a fine line. so itd be considered 50% cover then? or no cover since i can see all of the models in that unit

The rulebook is quite clear on these matters.
The 50% cover only applies to vehicles.

*sigh* (not exact quote but summarized) "if at least one model in your squad can see at least one model in their squad you can shoot. if half or more of your squad can see half or more of their squad the target gets no cover. if less than half of the targets are visable they get a cover based on what theyre hidden behind. foliage and the likes is a 5+ i think, behind a ruin or a solid object (improvized cover) is a 4+, behind a fotification is a 3+." so what im asking basically, is does being able to see their heads count as visable? or not, because more than half of each model is hidden.
.... im just confusing myself now...
... ___ = wall ... 0 = head

do those 3 space marine scouts get a cover save? (this was visable by all 6 of my fire warriors)
