Ryder smirked and was half tempted to stick his tongue out at her childishly after seeing her reaction. He wasn't going to make himself look foolish in front of her. Definitely not. He stood up and stretched out. "Don't know about you guys, but I think I'm going to crash for a bit. I might just head home too. As soon as I get some of my stuff anyway..." He paused to yawn before mumbling something to himself and walking off into the house once more to get whatever he had come with. He gave Elijah and Relm one last glance before disappearing off into another room.
"Erm bye then..." Elijah said. The cat hadn't given him much of a chance to say anything like that before he left, most likely on purpose. "Thanks Relm," He said and took the cards. He slid one out from the bunch that had stuck together and handed it to Koen. Elijah blinked a couple of times after he looked over to Kai, sort of wondering the same thing Relm was, but he didn't think too much of it. A lot of them were tired and probably weren't making much sense or something. Speaking of tired, he was starting to feel that way himself. He slipped the remaining tickets into his pants pocket. If Relm wanted them back later he would give them to her of course. He nodded in agreement to her words. "Yeah, inspiration..."
Koen took a moment to look over the card. He smiled a little to himself as he examined the picture on it. "These are very nice cards. I shall make sure I don't lose this one." He put it on a table and spared another moment to stare at the picture on it before looking up at his new friends. "It was nice having you two over."
Kai grinned to himself like he himself had some secret. "Heh heh. Forget it. Guess there isn't an 'also' if you say there isn't." He left it at that since he didn't want to push it too far. He himself was sort of hoping there wasn't an also as well for his own little reasons, but he had happened to notice a thing or two tonight that told him his hopes were hopeless. Something amused him about it all none the less. "Yeah. It was a lot of fun. You two should definitely come over really, really soon."

Relm rolled her eyes at the cat, not even bothering with a good bye to his retreating back and making an expression that clearly said that if Ryder was not going to stay around for it she would not waste her breath on him. She did smile a tiny bit at the smirk though, hoping they would see the ornery male again. The precocious pictomancer liked a good challenge -and Ryder certainly was showing good promise to be that.
Green eyes sparkled with artistic pride seeing the fox stare at the card's art. Not for long though as Kai's grin disarmed her certainty. Though she was more accustomed to giving that look than getting it, Relm knew it well enough: the look of knowing something someone else did not. To have it turned on her, for there to possibly be something she did not know... it galled and fretted her. Espers dammit, but she was supposed to be the one in the know!
But she couldn't let anyone know that. She smiled brightly. "Sure! Any time you want. We've numbers now." And then Relm had to move her hands quickly to cover a yawn, and her bright green eyes widened in surprise at how terribly tired she found herself. When it was over she gave a sheepish grin. "Thanks for humoring us. We'll see you around, okay?" With a smile and a wave she stepped out the door, comfortably close to Elijah -but then nothing more.

"Yes of course. Very soon if lucky," Koen said with a nod as he watched the two walk out. He gave them one last smile and allowed Kai to wave goodbye to the two before slowly shutting the door behind their new friend. "Have a nice night." He slipped in before it was fully shut. The card caught Koen's eye once more and he walked over to pick it up off where he had put it. A smiled down at it. "I wonder if they were...." He laughed quietly to himself. "Maybe that' explains Ryder's actions." He glanced over at the red panda that had made himself comfortable on the couch. A frown formed on Koen's face. "Staying over again, Kai?" Softly he sighed and shook his head.
"Well tonight was sure something huh?" Elijah asked after the door was fully closed behind the two of them. He smiled at Relm. "They're really not bad at all. We could possibly have something here..." Elijah looked up at the sky for a moment. The moon was high over the ground and quite a few stars could be seen out. 'Guess it is sort of late...'
"So..." He began as he looked back over at Relm. "I'll walk you home. I mean if you don't mind me doing that..." Elijah stuffed one of his hands into his pockets to fidget around with one of the cards Relm had made. Strangely he felt nervous all of the sudden. This was the first time he had been alone with Relm for quite a while that night. It shouldn't feel like such a big deal, but for some reason it felt like that at the moment. His eyes darted away to focus on a rock as he waited for the other to answer.

If Relm could hear what Koen said after the door was shut her insatiable desire to know would have likely driven her either insane or to drastic measures to discover both what the fox wondered if they were (were what?) and how whatever that was might explain any of the snarky cat-anthro's behavior at all that night. Thankfully, the pictomancer could not hear him and so did not know anything beyond the last waves and smiles goodbye.
Green eyes turned sparkling on the dog anthro to catch his, still feeling disoriented as she watched and listened to him. "Something." Relm laughed warmly, her eyes crinkling. "Yea, I'd say that covers it."
She teased playfully, to cover her own uncertainties. "Wouldn't it be something to find a group so soon? I thought it would be harder." Of course the way her adventuring party had come together like it did perhaps she should not.
Walk her home? Relm was thoughtfully quiet a moment as she tried to settle the fluttery feeling that threatened her insides while looking at the moon Elijah has just been watching. Why did Elijah saying that send everything inside her going into such a frenzy? She wanted to laugh at herself and started to... until looking back at her friend and how his eyes had darted away made the sound cut off in her throat after having only just started. Why...? What...? Dammit she was not going to give in and trace the line of the brown spots on his face. She wasn't!
"... Are you sure? I mean... maybe we should go as far as the clearing by your place before deciding if you want to walk that far." Relm paused, still watching him. "I could call for a ride home from there. It wouldn't be a bother."
((gah. finding Relm-speak for the last line just wasn't working. And then I realized... she's mimicking someone else to be able to say that. O_o no wonder it didn't work. ^_^))

"Oh..." Elijah frowned a little and then forced himself to look back at his friend. His spirits dropped a little. Her way sounded a lot faster and more convenient than his own way. There was nothing to really argue with. "That sounds a bit faster. I wouldn't mind walking all the way if you wanted, but you're right, it would be a pretty long walk." He took the hand that was in his pocket out to scratch the back of his neck as he thought of what to say. Why did he feel so nervous all the sudden? He was never this way around Relm before, was he?
"It's just sort of dark out now you know? I'll wait out with you if you want at the very least just to make sure, not that I think you would get lost or anything just..." His eyes darted away again. Now he was stuck on his words. Would saying, 'Because I want to spend a bit more time with you' sound weird now? This shouldn't be this complicated, unless...
He mentally shook his head before he could finish that thought. It was becoming harder to deny what he was feeling were, but it was too early to really think like that, right? "I wouldn't mind either way..." Elijah finished. He couldn't say what he really wanted to. It would sound too sudden for one thing...

Was he frowning? She'd upset him? Something ached painfully inside Relm that she managed to not display though she could not squelch the feeling. Listening to him Relm let her smile grow warm. It wasn't the only warmth she felt but she was trying not to think on things that stirred the butterflies inside her up. "I wouldn't mind you walking all the way there either, but I don't want to worry about you getting back home on your own either." Winking, Relm poked his chest in a friendly manner on 'you' & beamed.
"Glad you have faith in me not getting lost." More teasing, clearly pretending hurt that there might have been even considered she might get lost. "And that you wouldn't mind either way but... waiting sounds good." Her smile was radiant. Getting to spend more time with Elijah? No argument here! yes... it was a bit awkward with her feelings or whatnot being whatever they were, but Relm was not about to loose a chance. She turned to him and gave a quick hug -keeping it friend-oriented so not to scare him or ruin what to her was a perfect friendship. "We can talk about future concerts or whatever."
It was a quick hug and Relm started towards their destination, pausing & turning to welcome Elijah to join her while her quick mind considered who might still be up and willing to come get her --that would not potentially freak Elijah out or give anything away that she might be magical. Maybe one of the ninau. It was okay to want to spend more time with her friend... right?

"Alright. Waiting it is than. It would be nice to talk for a while." Elijah agreed. His frown turned into a smile as his spirits rose up a bit. So he could spend just a little more time with the girl after all. That came as a relief to him. He didn't even to care to think if his relief was a bit too much. He was just happy to be around Relm. Nothing wrong with that of course.
Well, that was until she hugged him of course. Just a friend hug, it was obvious, but his stomach felt like it flip flopped and his cheeks grew warm. He froze as he let what was happening sink in a bit. 'Should I hug her back...?' Before he had the chance to try doing just that, the hug was over and of course it was, just a quick friend hug. Now he was thankful for it for being so dark since his blush wasn't that visible in the dim light, but he sure felt stupid about his mental reactions. A hug should not have been such a big deal.
Quickly he made himself put the thoughts of the hugging thing aside so he could catch up to Relm like he usually would so he could walk along side her. The smile quickly returned to his face to show her everything was alright and they were. Elijah really was enjoying himself, even if things had become strangely confusing.

Of course Relm had to keep the hug quick. Longer, and it might tempt her to not let go. That was something she simply could not do. Had Elijah managed to get a return hug in it probably would have stunned her. She had to keep touches small -tired as she was. And yet... she wanted to 'sneak' these touches. Like a thief: each hug, even each poke was something Relm felt she was stealing. Maybe she could horde up a few and quiet whatever it ws her hormones or whatever it was were doing to her.
"Whyn't you tell me what you thought of our private concert tonight. I haven't your ears." And in a moment of impishness Relm twisted, lightly fluttering her wings to add to her reach as she lifted a hand to playfully tweak a brown dog ear.

Elijah's years twitched after being touched and he chuckled at the touch. "Well... they all have sort of different tastes from what I can gather. They're all pretty talented in their own way. Kai could use a bit more work, but he certainly does have something. He gets into it you know? Koen has a good hold on his instrument too. Ryder... now what he did was really something, but his attitude kind of worries me." He thought it over for another moment before continuing. "We might have something with these three, but I can't say for sure. I especially can't see Ryder jumping up for joy at the idea of joining us for anything and the other two seem close to him at the very least. I still can't say for sure... There’s a lot to think about. At least we get to see them again"
The anthro dog sighed and shrugged his shoulders. His green eyes looked over to Relm. "What's your opinion on then?" He had only heard a little bit of what she thought so far himself now that he thought about it.

So... soft... Relm almost regretted touching his ear the moment she did, knowing that now she would never be able to get the feel of it out of her mind. Yet she could not, liking the memory and the feeling -liking too how the ear twitched and her friend chuckled. It made her grin, green eyes lighting.
The artist laughed aloud at Elijah's remarks about the cat. "I can't imagine that one jumping up for joy even if he did want to. It's not in him." She nudged Elijah's shoulder playfully with her own & smiled up at him. Espers but it made her feel better about having been asking for his opinion (or thinking about asking for his opinion) so much to have Elijah ask her for hers. He seemed to really want to know to. "At least he's good enough to have it go with his better than you airs. The others were easier to get along with and read sure, but if you're wanting quality parts it's the cat you're gonna wanna win over. Easy to get the others into a band if he goes, not so easy the other way around I'd bet. Not that you have to make any decisions tonight." She was walking close to him since having shoulder-bopped him and occasionally their arms or at least the sleeves of their jackets would brush. Relm had a mischievous grin on her face as she tilted it up to set their green eyes together for a moment. "No guarantees on their end they're interested in more than jam sessions anyway." Wink. "Best we keep looking. Next concert's my treat, kay?" Her argument was all ready if Elijah tried to fight it.
If she had her way -and Relm intended to get her way- there would be many, many more concerts. Not only did she like them after her first experience, but they were an easy thing to do with Elijah... just the two of them. Just the two of them and however many hundreds of concert-goers there were. But friend & concert-buddy... Relm could more than live with that.

Elijah nudged her shoulder back playfully as well and laughed. "Oh boy. If we ever do get set on having them join, that cat is going to be a pest..." There was more about the cat then his attitude that annoyed Elijah. It was his attitude towards Relm that made him want to write Ryder off the list for good. He couldn't let someone in his band and have them jab rude comments all the time at his friend. If it wasn't for the other two anthros, he would highly consider dropping the idea of Ryder all together. "Yeah a jam session. Oh well. More concerts will come and we might run into something even better..."
Elijah frowned a bit at the offer to pay. "Awww... you don't have to Relm. I can pay. I insist. I want to anyway." He smiled at her and winked.

Pest? Relm looked at it as more of an interesting challenge. If she only knew the reason Elijah had for not liking the cat...
...but she did not. At least not yet.
Probably a good thing, the way her insides turned to jelly as her friend smiled and winked at her. Thank the Espers she was ready with her argument or Relm just might have given in. Even if only to see him smile. The pictomancer did not know the brightness of her smile in response showed hints of the warm fuzzies that were dancing around inside of her. "Nu-uh. No way. That's totally sweet, 'Lijah, but I'm gonna have to be the one to insist. At least every other concert -until you have your band. After... then maybe I'll give in." She winked to take the edge off her words then stopping her forward progress towards his home quickly stepped in front of the taller male and wrapped her arms around him in what Relm hoped was a sisterly & comforting hug. It did not feel that way to her exactly, but it was better than giving in to her other impulse. If she gave into that she would have blown any argument she had out of the water.
Still beaming Relm looked up at her friend from his chest. Her mint green ears were swishing almost playfully and her face was lit softly with red from the gentle glow of her forehead ruby. "What kinda friend would I be if I let you blow what could be band money on me? Even if you're so sweet as to want to. Each of us paying our own way each time seems a waste of effort... and it's not like I don't have the money. The only thing I spend anything on is supplies... I'm not going to insist to pay for all of them, though believe me I could." Suddenly, Relm realized she was loathe to tell him how much she could get for a painting. Not because she didn't want to brag, but because she did not want Elijah to feel bad because of it in anyway. Or for him to think he owed her anything like that for the art she had already done for him and those she still wanted to do. Nor did she want there to be any thought that she was holding that as leverage over him. No no. That wouldn't do at all.
Instead, Relm took a different approach than she had intended. Instead she cutely tilted her head, pouting her lips slightly as she gave a soft pleading look. "Please, 'Lijah? I can't help much when it comes to actually picking band members, but let me help this much in scoping them out?"
It was not a full 'you cannot deny me' puppy-dog expression -just the tip of the iceberg really. Relm hoped it was enough, even as she soaked up the warm feeling of hugging her friend to store away to remember later.

Elijah's face heated up one more. Again, he was being hugged by the carabuncle and again he was thankful that it was so dark so that the change in his cheek color could go unnoticed. It didn't get any better as he looked back into those eyes that were staring up at him. 'Why? Why does she have to be that cute?' He thought. Yes, he admitted it to himself that he thought she was cute. How could anyone not think it anyway?
There was truth to what she was saying. She probably did make a lot more than him and he wasn't exactly made out of money either. Still, he liked paying for Relm for some reason, just to make her happy. But... they were only friends. The guy paying for things like this only was something one would do on a date, which they weren't doing... They were friends now. Elijah was happy that they were friends too. Pushing for anything more would risk losing everything after all... He didn't want to lose what they had. "Alright...." He said, giving into the all powerful puppy dog look. If only that look did strictly belong to puppies. "You can pay, but how about whoever finds out about the concerts first from now on has to pay? That sounds fair. The person who does the inviting does the paying."
He brought his arms up to hug the other back, giving her a quick, gentle, squeeze. He loosened his arms, to let go, forcing himself to not be hesitant about it. The feeling of being hugged by Relm was so nice. Even if it was only a friend hug, something about it felt special...
"Man, I wonder how late it actually is..." He said after fully letting go. Elijah wanted to move on before he thought too much about things. They were probably close by to where Relm would be waiitng for her "ride" regretably.

Espers, but this felt good. Relm had to try hard not to resist -to casually move away- after the warmth of his return hug.
Besides, she was grinning about her victory... wait... Green eyes blinked and the look of triumph clouded. "Hey... 'whoever finds out about the concerts first'?" She made a face, folding her ears back. It was almost as if she was mad, if not for the light, playful tone in her voice. It bore more than a hint of pride too. So Elijah could be devious? "You sneaky dog you." Laughing she 'socked' him on the arm. Even if it would have been as hard as the pictomancer could hit it would not hurt. Ah the joys of being a physically weak mage. "You know you know how to find them better than me. But don't go thinking I'm gonna let you."
Lifting her index finger near her nose Relm winked, then poked Elijah squarely in the chest. "You, my friend, have just made this a challenge." And her green eyes were glittering with it. "Hope you have a free calender."
Her eyes flickered, intentionally disregarding how late it might be. She knew they were near the clearing. She also knew on some level... she had forgotten to actually call for that ride. Perhaps it was subconscious.

Elijah laughed. Yes, he had been aware of the fact he knew how to find out about concerts and get tickets for them quickly. Someone so into the music world was bound to have a knack for it. "Heh, heh, heh. Yes, I never claimed I couldn't be sneaky now. It isn't that surprising, is it?" Course, he never was good at being sneaky... he purposely failed to mention that part even though it might of been obvious already. She already caught him in the act after all. Oh well. It didn't mean she could stop him quite yet. He might still have the upper edge.
His green eyes watched Relm's finger poke him. He grinned and playfully nudged her shoulder with his fist in a way that was of course impossible to hurt her. "So it seems I have. Well let the best man or girl win..." He said, half determinedly and half jokingly. The whole idea of challenging each other to see who could beat each other at buying the most concert tickets was humorous after all. It was not the normal sort of contest. "I don't have much planed. Nothing to worry about. I have to say the same to you. Make sure you don't have too much planed."
