It's not according to ours. It has a visible bare breast with n****e-age. That's a bannable offence and has been logged.
Maybe just throw her a warning...? She wasn't trying to promote porn or anything. We're sorry.

Eh, it happens. Too bad there's nothing terribly specific in the TOS/guidelines about it. Personally, I thought it was more so "tasteful"...and it wasn't excessive, but whatever.

The "tasteful" part only applies to the Art Arena because of the judging of the art. Outside of the Arena it's purely PG-13 or else, no exceptions.

Not that I don't believe you, but is that stated specifically in the TOS that 'tasteful' only applies to the art arena?

Bannable doesn't mean "You're banned, goodbye," it means "Stop doing that or we're going to shove this ban stick up your a** and throw you out the door so you land on your a**."

Yeah, I know. I was just a little scared there for a second. sweatdrop I know it's your job, but the word "ban" is both a sacred and terrifying word...

TOS
We urge our Users to keep the Content of the Forums and the Art Arena to a PG-13 level. Exceptions to this rule are made on a case-by-case basis to allow for artistic creativity and freedom of speech.

Breedables and the like definately don't get that "artistic creativity" bit because we don't want young-uns buying nekkid furries for obvious reasons. It may or may not apply to the art forums, but again, case to case, and generally, it's stricter then the Art Arena.

But still...it doesn't limit it to just the art arena. But you are "supreme mod"...so it isn't like I have a defense or anything. I should be used to that by now though.

Everything's stricter in the Art Arena... lots of people don't know that copying stuff by eyeball isn't allowed and stuff. Things get rejected every day for no apparent reason. confused Which is yet another reason I don't post stuff there.

You're right, it doesn't, but it's only there with the intention that you're showing your own artwork. Hence, it only applies to certain areas on Gaia, and with certain limits. That's not yours, it's somebody elses, so you may as well have posted the exact same picture but with real people, in which case, it'd be pretty obvious that it's not a PG-13 image.

Edit: Your own work of stuff that they show in art museums that are considered masterpieces and works of genius (Da Vinci comes to mind).

Again, it doesn't really specify anything about personal artwork.

Why can we view these masterpieces in public schools (like in books or slides) when the people showing them are not the artists? It isn't my work...I'm just showing it. Isn't that the same thing?

About the whole real people bit...well, look at Kill Bill. They animated the sequence with all the violence and killing etc etc. I am pretty sure if it were that violent and made all real-like, they'd probably have to up the rating to NC-17. That's according to a couple of friends...but it makes sense. So perhaps there's something about animated work that is less graphic simply because we know it is fake. But perhaps I shouldn't be judge to that.

Violence and nudity fall into the same category in rating systems a lot of the time (unless it's porn...maybe not if it's something like super duper S&M porn ^ 4958290438502).

My point...both are explicit.

Explicit in two completely different ways mind you, but yes.

In my opinion, violence (especially animated violence) has become much more socially acceptable than animated nudity, though. To me, they're entirely different matters. For example, I am comfortable showing my 12-year-old sister blood and gore because I trust her judgement as far as her not wanting to massacre after seeing it. But I would never show her any nudity, animated or not, because of the bad influence/effects it might have on her.
