"Promises are easy to break. And I don't care if I get lost..fending for myself is not a problem for me," Alucard raised his arms to the side. The dark matter swirled around him and covered him. The form shrank until it took on the appearance of a crow. Alucard flapped his wings and flew down the street, cawing as he went.

Loralei unfurled hers and flapped steadily beside him, staring into his beady eye. "Bet you didn't think I'd be able to do that, huh?" She grinned.

Alucard flew up to her face and flapped furiously, "Stupid-" PECK "girl!" PECK "Stop following me!!" PECK PECK. He tried to continue his barrage of peck attacks against Loralei's forehead, hoping that it would anger her enough to reconsider her decision in staying with him.

Loralei merely continued slying, determined not to let his rudeness faze her. "Promises are everything to me." She said simply. "A stupid bird is not going to keep me from keeping it."

"Promises are worthless!" He used his claws to scratch her nose before swerving around in the air and swooping through an alley.

Loralei grinned, ready for the chase. She caught up behind him, and whispered, "That's what you think..."

Alucard turned around, maneuvered around Loralei, and landed right on top of her head, "Remember that stupid cake you fed me? Guess where it's going to come out. I hope you enjoy the gift I leave in your hair." ((lawl xD ))

Loralei shrugged, and said, "Eh. I've had worse. Do what you will, I'm not gonna break that damn promise." She winced as she felt a warmth on the top of her head, but made no other move to let Alucard know that she was bothered by it. ((This is where Loralei would say "believe it!" except I don't know if that phrase is copyright...))

"Do what I will, eh?" Alucard jumped off her head and onto her back. The black tendrils surrounded him and transformed him back into his adult form. He wrapped his arms around her waist and dug his feet into the ground to slow her flight before they came to a complete stop, "Hmm...Then how do you feel about the idea of me sucking all your blood out to the last drop?"
((naruto! omg xD . i think that's only for the english version though...i don't recall naruto repeatedly saying that phrase in the japanese version))

Loralei shrugged, then said, "Then I will die knowing that I tried to keep my promise. It would be honorable." She glanced up at the bird on her head. "You can do what you want, but I will make sure this promise is kept."

((no, the phrase isn't copyright x3 ---and alucard is in his adult vampire form.. X_x ..i suck at describing things >w> ..no pun intended there xD; ))
Alucard was completely thrown off and baffled by Loralei's response, "How could a worthless promise have more value than your own life?"
Every person he met in the past who had their lives threatened always tossed their promises aside to save their own skin. He didn't know if he wanted to go ahead with killing her or letting her go.

Loralei thought for a moment and said, "Someone I once knew told me that promises are what make you honorable. In honor of that person... I keep mine."

"..." Alucard let Loralei go and started walking away, "Just don't expect me to do the same.."
Alucard wasn't going to fight against her following him anymore. He thought he knew people's behavior, and holding honor was something that he thought was dead. Loralei proved him wrong, and he wondered what else she could prove.
