Siri sat at her desk in her World History calss, frantically scribbling off a few nonsensical answers to the last night's homework. She'd slept all through the afternoon, right up until this morning. Now, she was behind on homework and Sara would most likely be furious with her during their next class. Siri had checked her cell phone on the way to school, finiding twelve missed calls from her best friend and one worried voice mail. Sara seemed to be under the impression Siri had been murdered on the way home, and that was why she'd never called.

Handing in her homework, Siri slid down a few inches in her chair. She really had no idea what to tell Sara. She'd already got her friend curious about the dreams, so she probably wouldn't let it go. If Siri told her that the dreams were real, Sara would probably find a way to get her to see the school shrink. She was horribly manipulative like that. Sighing, Siri closed her eyes and listened to the teacher drone on about the Industrial Revolution.

*~*

Siri appeared in the plain again, right where she'd been before she had left. Not much appeared to have changed since she'd been gone. She opened her mouth to speak, and -

*~*

Siri's eyes shot open as she felt something strike her in the forehead. She glared at the teacher, who had just launched a chalk missile at her head. Forcing a smile onto her face, she said, "Just resting my eyes, Mrs. Bonell." Siri sat straight and opened her book, determined to not fall asleep.

Doragon looked around he thought he saw one of the people from earth, but as he looked back to where he had seen her she was gone.

Monollius, standing tall like a sentinel leaning against his weapon, which in this case was the Arch-Sage's staff. He stone silent, listening to those around him as his need to speak had desisted quite some time ago. He was an intelligent man, but his range of knowledge consisted primarily of two things: magic, and geography. Seeing as how none of those present were curious about magic or geography, he had left the conversation. For a moment, it seemed Lady Siri had returned, but when she fell silent mid-sentence, he wondered if it had only been his imagination; these Earthfolk were interesting when 'gone.' It seemed their local bodies simply lie in wait for their conscious to return. It was an awkward sight, but not something all too surprising to the elderly man. He had seen more than his fair share of crazy things.

"So here they come, but for what purpose, hm?" he spoke to himself quietly, barely above a whisper. Insofar as Monollius knew, the land was in no sort of danger. Perhaps there was an arising danger. It would make more sense, but that still left them in the dark.

"This is interesting, of all times why did the earth-people come now? We were in much more desperate need of help during the war against the Apoconair and his minions. That demon was bad news, he nearly wiped out elves. So, once again, why now? Arch-sage, do you have an idea?"

Monollius turned, at the sound of his being called Arch-Sage and

Leonidas bolted upright. Pain shot through his abdomen, the result of six cracked ribs on his right side and strained abdominal muscles. His head pounded like a megaton hammer, the shock waves threatening to blow his skull into a billion pieces. The Vaicoden had worn off, and the nurse was late on her delivery. The seventeen-year old boy began having a convulsive fit, and it did not stop until a nurse and two doctors had restrained him, and a second nurse, little Ms. Tardy, had tranquilized him.

Caught himself, gripping tightly to his staff. "Ah, pardon me, young sir. Just a tad dizzy, I suppose. Wrapped up in my little reverie, I was. Very unbecoming." He righted himself, and took a deep breath. "Very sorry about all that. What was that, now? The earthfolk? Yes, yes. Well I'm quite unsure. It would seem that, for some reason or another, each as a persona is needed here. For what reason, I cannot yet fathom, and that is my only lead thus far. Might you have some idea yourself, lad?"

"Maybe another demon that is even worse is on its way to rise." Doragon suggested.

"Ah, mayhap you are correct, young sir, but I however would not be one to quickly entrust that theory. While, it's certainly possible, I find it scantly plausible. These earthfolk, at least those I have thus far encountered, I have yet to find one of veritable combat proficiency. In fact, I have yet to see one beyond the stages of adolescence. Otherwise, I would be much more prone to conceding that your theory may very well be truth." Monollius sighed. Perhaps he was merely wasting his time here. This was not furthering his knowledge or talents of any respectable avenue. He was merely holding idle chatter with several youngsters. While many of them were certainly interesting, albeit merely flawed, characters, it did not do much toward the validation of his spending time amongst them. He needed to press on with his quest to...

What was his quest again? Damn his uncanny ability to forget those sporadic decisions! Though, after a second thought, it was perhaps better in the way of keeping him safe, he would much rather remember what it was that would have endangered him.

Aria lay down on her bed, scowling. Whitney could certainly be annoying; it had taken almost 45 minutes to get rid of her. As she snuggled back into the pillows, her scowl faded. She was still... so tired. Her eyes drifted lazily closed as she watched the ceiling fan go around, and around, and...

*~*

She opened her eyes exactly where she had been, and then sighed. The air tasted better, here. She turned back to 'Gandalf'. "As I was saying before I was rudely shaken awake, the faeries want us to battle some dark spirits, or some such nonsense." She snorted. What an odd idea: a snorting angel. "Absolute nonsense, obviously. We're a bunch of kids, hardly soldier material."

She focused on the Arch-Sage completely for the first time since her return, her expression shifting from righteously angry to thoughtful. "You, on the other hand, seem competent at the very least, which is more than we can say. Can't you just take care of them?"

Monollius faced the girl slowly, listening as she spoke. "Dark spirits, you say? And a request of the fairies, to boot. How odd..." He nodded slowly. "It is most likely that I indeed could handle such entities on my own, so it is perhaps not the reason you are here, or merely part of it. Again, I have little notion as to your ultimate purpose. Mayhap the Fairies know more than they have said." He reached to his beard reflexively. That seemed the most likely turn of events. Then again, none of this had seemed very likely from the beginning. It just kept building into a more and more unbelievable tale, even for him.

"That is strange. . ." Doragon sat down, pondering about the dark spirits. It was quite obvious he had heard of spirits, but dark spirits? Also spirits weren't TOO large of a problem unless they possesed a living being to use as a body, they could do some damage, but with out a body they were nearly harmless.

Kat was pretty much lost now. Apoconair and his minions? Aria just reappearing and blurting out something to the arch-sage? evil spirits? fairies? she looked to the other people blankly, then tacitly decided to let T.K. take over- she was much more knowledgeable about this sort of stuff.

T.K. shook her head as Kat suddenly moved out of the 'control space' in their mind, and T.K. was once more pulled into control. "forgive me one moment," she said, gaining the same slight difference in her aura and accent that signaled it was her now, "but who were these Fae you spoke of," she asked, addressing the winged girl, "for there aren't that many in this part of the forest, and i might know them.. although some faires and elves, rare though they are, refuse to even speak to me, because of the fact some of my sister dryads, for their own reasons, decided to side with Apoconair. Despite the fact that i was one of the few wardancers that deemed to fight with them. narrow-minded bigots." she noticed she was getting irritated, and took a deep breath, calming herself down. those memories always got her riled up. still, it was around the time of those battles that she got her wardancer name, her now most used name, which she always abbreviated to T.K. as the full name was off-putting to most people.

((Greetings everyone!!))

“Geez I hate school.”

Aidan turned to his younger brother, Justin, who was trudging behind him on the way home from the bus stop and laid his arm on Justin’s shoulders. “Aww,” he cooed in his best baby voice. “What’s bothering my sensitive wittle brother today?”

“Lay off,” Justin complained, shrugging Aidan’s arm off and glowering, “School just sucks in general.”

Aidan laughed and shrugged. “I can’t imagine how you would know anything about school since you sleep through most of it.”

The boys reached their apartment building, climbed the stairs, and went inside as Aidan continued to tease Justin good-naturedly, not even stopping to return the greeting their mother gave them.

“Dinner’s almost ready!” she called as they went into the small room they shared and set their backpacks down.

Aidan flopped down on the bottom bunk bed and pulled the covers over him.

“What are you doing? Mom said dinner was almost ready,” Justin said.

“I’m taking a nap; unlike you, I stay awake all day,” Aidan grinned up at Justin mischievously and deflected a pillow aimed at his head. “I won’t take a long one, but I’m sure I can get at least an hour if 17 years of hearing Mom’s ‘soon’s’ is any judge. So shoo.”

Justin rolled his eyes and left as Aidan drifted off to sleep.

*~*

Aidan opened his eyes in a strange forest, lying next to a lake. “Huh,” he said aloud, “I haven’t had this dream before. I hope it’s better than the one with the four-armed fortuneteller. She was creepy.”

He rolled over to get up and as he did so he caught his own reflection in the water. The nose ring and ear piercings he had had since he was 14 were gone, but that wasn’t the strangest part. His hair, which he had so meticulously dyed so that every spiked piece as a different color of the rainbow and no two colors were next to each other had vanished, and instead his hair was a strangely uniform royal blue. His eyes had changed as well, from their normal green to a blue that matched his hair. “Weird,” he mused, not too concerned. “Usually I don’t look any different in my dreams.” He also noticed a wooden staff strapped to his back, but decided to chalk it all up to weird dream-logic.

He finished getting up and strolled through the forest, taking in the scenery, until he came upon a place where the forest ended and a long, empty plain began. A little ways away a group of people stood. Following the dictates of his curiosity, he started toward them.

Aria raised an eyebrow, and opened her mouth to say something, probably along the lines of 'Coherence is obviously not something that you aim for when you speak, but...' She never got a chance to form the first word, because just then she noticed someone else walking toward them, someone with blue hair. She sighed, flicking her own sheet of blond hair back. "Human Anime character alert," she said with a smile that was half amused, half exasperated. Her giant white wings stretched out slightly, prepping themselves automatically in case she needed to get out of there fast. "Don't be ridiculous," she told them.

Aidan strolled casually up to the group and grinned lopsidedly. He looked them over one by one, clearly intrigued.

“Hello all,” he finally said with a cheery tone, “What wacky adventures are we up to tonight?”

T.K. looked over to the man. sighing at his cheery attitude, and guessed at his question he was one of the earthlings. she looked up at him, her bright green hair, the color of spring leaves, hanging loose over her shoulders. she fixed him with her deep brown eyes, and slowly yet fluidly rose to her feet. quick as a flash, she had drawn her bow and knocked an arrow. "let me guess, you think this is some sort of dream, and at some point your going to wake up. correct me if im wrong, but normally your hair isn't blue, right?"she looked a bit irritated, and opened her mouth to say something else, when she dropped her bow and arrows, as a sharp slash of pain arced through her head.

*~*

Kat sat up sleepily. "oh god, it worked!" Kat was suddenly embraced by her mother. she looked around the hospital. "wait, what?"
"you banged your head pretty nastily, had to have an operation, but it worked!"
Kat looked around, remembering when she had last been awake.. "ait, how long have i been out for?"
"two weeks!"
"your kidding me!..."

~~~
T.K. blinked and sat down heavily. "okay, i think kat just woke up." she looked at her hands, suddenly feeling a great weight lifted from her shoulders. "ah, that feels better." she looked around, and picked up her bow and arrow. "sorry about that." she looked back at the newcomer. "anyway, as i was saying, are you from earth or not? and if not, who are you?"
