chika-hoshi Masquanade Won what state championship are you talking about? Are you perhaps talking about state festival (the one that takes place in Gulfport)? Mississippi doesn't hold a competive marching festival, indiviual places do like Perk has the Gold Cup and so forth. So unless Mississippi has magically done some competive marching festival that I didn't know about, I don't there is one. Anyways yes I'm from Southern Mississippi. 3nodding hey! ok it was the MHSAA BMA Marching Championship....i was in 4A though....and it was in Pearl, Mississippi....they just did it this year....was the first one...we do go to gulfport though and also to perk...we won overall at perk and got all superior on the coast...what band are u in by the way? we also go to foley, alabama...but we went to pearl instead this year I'm in the Ocean Springs Blue-Grey Pride. Our band is too big to travel. We went to Pearl, Mississippi for the state concert festival. We went to Gulfport, but we didn't do Perk this year or Foley. OUr band is 5-A, it's the largest on the coast and that is why we can't travel- bus fares are too much. Plus our High School went to football state champsionship up in Jackson this year- so the all the playoff games and stuff drained our traveling fees.

chika-hoshi i dont think i remember y'all from gulfport but ya kno...we coulda been gone by the time u performed...lolz...umm, anyways...dunno if u know us either but we got to be in lotsa stuff, we are not too big to travel! haha...anyways...for the district and stuff we r in our band is an exceptional size...about 1/3 of our school haha is in band...we went in the macy's parade my 9th grade and then this year we were in the presidential inaugural parade....1st h.s. band inthe line up....3rd band over all in the lineup! it was awesome! We did a Zorro show . . . along with two other bands. sweatdrop I believe we were the second band to perform the zorror show. 3nodding sweatdrop But hey the other bands copied us! xd That's cool. Hoe many members does your band have? Our band did the Washington DC 300th annivsery parades back when that actually happened. sweatdrop Zemog_Suil- That would probally be my fault, but did you check the other threads? Like the Western thread? The country was cut into sections when I created these threads . . . naturally two states might be next to each other but in different threads, but there isn't really any other way to do it.

I don't know when that was . . . sweatdrop Our band is about 230 members big (and it's only getting bigger next year we're suppose to have 250 more) . . . so that is why we can't travel . It takes caravan of buses to ship us.

*sigh* I wish my band was getting bigger, but we're getting smaller... we only have 10 or 11 returning woodwinds and about the same in the brass... the rest are rookies...

i was wondering if anyone else here was in the south texas region band (middle school)held in flour bluff. if so, if you were in the symphonic band i was the 6th chair player in the trombone section.

Anyone here from NC im from goldsboro....we have like the best Jazz band in NC.....we have out played some college bands.....are marching band is good but we are kindof small we are 3A

westward_pigs Anyone here from NC im from goldsboro....we have like the best Jazz band in NC.....we have out played some college bands.....are marching band is good but we are kindof small we are 3A im in leesville,raleigh. were 3A and wee accualy going to have a jazz band next year after like 3 years of procratination of Albert, or BD. Hes a jazz drummer tho and hes insanely good.
