Of course you have, since you're more in the field of editing than I am. Though in all the academic journals I've read never had the double asterisks. sweatdrop

Well, then again, the person who wrote those papers was an idiot. 3nodding

On Gaia, I just use asterisks to indicate an action *laughs*

But I'd -love- to use the hyphens to emphasize a point, but MLA format tells me no.

Alright... it's still strange to me too. I'm with Scoot on this. The only time I've seen double asterisks is when an *action* is being taken on the internet.

I know, but I don't think you're going to see any official papers doing that. XD

Heh heh. I'd like to see a state bill say roflmao on it. xd

If anyone in state DID do that, they'd be fired immediately, I'm sure. wink

How could they not use roflmao, but could use w00t? sweatdrop Sounds like it'd either be both or neither.

Say...waaa? They can use W00t? Why? That does not sound legit at all. stare I wouldn't vote for a bill that had that in there.

W00t is the newest word in the English dictionary. 3nodding

W00t in dictionary.com only shows up as an acronym. sweatdrop

Edit: These are hilarious, though. xd
