Haruki licked Liliana forehead as she rested it on his chest.
"Good and comfy are we?" There was just something about Liliana that put him at rest.
Again he watched the clouds.

Without opening her eyes, Liliana smiled in response. "There's not a finer place."
Liliana paused before asking Haruki a question.
The question had slightly come up before,
but too early in time she knew now.
She hoped her hesitation wouldn't show when she asked it again, though.
"Hey, Uki? When we get back home.. I mean, the cave.. my cave..would you.. like to stay?
For the Winter, or maybe...?"
Liliana cut her babbling short and opened her eyes now,
which were shining with hope and love,
and looked deeply into the window's of Haruki's soul.

Haruki smiled and started to purr. It wasn't loud enough to hear really but with Liliana's ear to his chest she was sure to hear and feel it. "I'm glad to hear it." His tail wrapped around her.
Haruki looked away from the sky and gazed into Liliana eyes as soon as she stopped talking. His own eyes wide but full of love. "Are you asking me to be by your side."

Liliana could hear Haruki's happiness from within, and wouldn't have been suprised if her own were showing through also.
Every part of him seemed to buzz with pure joy, almost as much as the surrounding butterflies enjoyed playing in the falls.
As Liliana snuggled into him, she grinned with anticipation as her words danced from her lips.
"Why, I suppose I am, yes. -pausing-
Will you stay with me Uki?"
She pulled her tail around the other side, so it lay gently on top of his.

Liliana grinned.
It was just like Uki to add sarcasm to the most serious of moments.
But that was one of the things she loved most about him,
so it did not bother her one bit.
"Mmmhm sure, if you'd like to, I suppose.
But that just means I get to come up with something even better, later on, for you."
And with the thought of that in her mind,
a wide smile formed upon her face.

"Go ahead I've heard them all. Maybe you'll come up with one that with acttually stick."
He chuckled well talking and looking lovingly over her.
"So I still get to call you Baka....Ok then Lily I will stay be your side always." He's tail tightened around her. He didn't know what this feeling was that was over coming him when he was around her, but he did know that he didn't want to lose it.
"Or at least till you get sick of me and kick me out or something." He laughed. Haruki would never change.

"Mmk, I will." Liliana retorted gleefully for the challenge.
After hearing the rest of what Haruki had to say, her overwhelming joy brought tears to her eyes, which sparkled with incredible shine.
"I could never get sick of you Uki, you mean the world to me" she said as she hugged him tight.
And as she lay there smiling, slowly the tears that were trickling down her face subsided.
Thoughts of the future began popping in her head.
She wouldn't have to stay in the cave alone anymore.
No longer would she have to fear for her safety everywhere she went.
And no matter what, Haruki would always love her and she would always love him back.

"Hey...! Wooh with the water works. I said I'm sticking around. Why the tears?"
Haruki couldn't understand why she was crying. It's not like he hit her or anything.
Girls where still a big enigma to him....like most things.

Liliana giggled at Haruki's confusement.
"They're happy tears, babe, don't worry.
I've never had anybody who's ever cared about me as much as you do,
& I've definetely never been as happy with anyone before you."
She paused a moment before she continued with a grin,
"believe me, there's nothing sad about these tears."

Haruki's face softened as a smiled spread arcoss it.
"So long as your happy." The brown minya said as he gave the tip of Liliana ear a lick.
"Didn't your family make you happy?" He just had to ask.

Liliana's looked at the ground shyly when Haruki spoke.
At the hearing of her family, her face softened and she herself spoke with a tinge of sadness in her voice.
"I 'spose..I didn't get paid much attention to growing up, though..
My father was gone often for long periods of time, he enjoyed adventure and going places.
My mother, not as much, so she stayed home with my brother and I, but was often searching for food or keeping the cave clean, you know.
But then my brother turned ill when we were young, and father didn't know what to do, so he left.
This hurt my mother, of course, and with my brother being ill on top it was too much for her.
I helped out with my brother as much as I could, but he got weaker and weaker over time.
We were never quite sure what ailed him, actually..
Thought he must've ate a horribly poisoned berry, or something.."
Liliana faded her last sentence, but quickly wrapped up the rest of her story.
"Well, anyways, he passed away after a few years, and over that time my mother had basically fallen apart.
Everyone she loved, other than me, had left.
I tried to show her that I wouldn't leave, and I stuck around for many a long time, but my mother's condition didn't improve and she passed away a little while after.
My guess is from depression and stress, and stuff.
I didn't want to stay in the cave, though, with all those memories, so I left and came up Snowdrop mountains in search of something new."
She smiled at Haruki, "lucky me, my chances are looking fairly decent for that one, though."

"I'm going to stop asking about families from now on." Haruki sighed. "I never get a happy answer." He said thinking about a minya he once met named Indra.
He looked into Liliana's eyes. She wasn't sad....? Shouldn't dwell on the past. He thought to him self.
"Ok then Lily what do you want to do now."

Liliana shook her head, ridding it of the past and it's memories.
But for some reason the word families coming out of Haruki's mouth sparked a funny feeling deep down insider her.
Casually shrugging it off, she snuggled his cheek.
"Let's go home, babe, I'd say we've had quite an amazing adventure lately."

"It's only just begun." He smirked and wiggled him self out from under Liliana.
"Well lets get moving." Haruki walked over to the edge of the river to get a drink before their got on the move again.
The brown minya opened his wings to help him keep balance while he drank.
