"You are no bother at all, mi'lady," Kryss said with a reassuring smile.
It was not as though he had better things to do with his time anyway, and Zareb would need to know his way around the city eventually if the half-demon had any intentions of remaing there for long. He was not accustomed to having house guests during the day.
"You all are finally ready to leave, I take it?" He grinned somewhat mischeviously, as if he were speaking to mortals and not preternatural beings, and, in a voice that was barely a whisper but easily heard said, "Follow me."
As he turned, he almost wished he had worn his long coat or a circle cape for that dramatic flair they showed when he moved. Then again, these were not humans, and it would be one more piece of clothing to worry about if the demon decided to show up.
He glanced back with his mind to make certain no one was lost, turning with a smile as he pointed out and described his favorite parts of the city. Events long since forgotten in most of the mortal world were described in detail and the signifigance of any given place was told in the fashion of the truely great cicerones, if only because he knew his city better than most could ever hope even through the most extensive research. He had lived here for centuries, after all, and followed its progess closely when he was away.
"If you haven't already noticed, we've found the park."
They had only walked down five streets to get here and less than ten city blocks, but already he was getting tired of being a tour guide. To him, a guide was someone to follow through a museam for the first few exhibits and then wander off on your own when you got tired of his voice.
The park was vast, covering at least three acres of land, most of which were covered in grass and spotted with towering trees nearly as old as Kryss. It was well taken care of, the grass watered regularly to keep it a perfect green and the benches kept clean. There were the occasional homeless people sleeping or sitting around, but they never bothered anyone and no one ever bothered them. Sidewalks traced through the grass like winding veins, spaced far enough apart that only a single path could be seen at one time, if at all. There were wildflowers growing in sporradic patches; every colour displayed in no semblance of order, but never clashing as paint and clothing often do.

Jadelyn leaned her head back to look up at Kamiru, face completely devoid of emotion. She had cut herself off, unable to understand how he could do something so nice for her at one moment and then turn on her in the next. Her face was blank as she tilted her head to the side. "Give you time to do what? To get killed? Or perhaps you'll kill me? Or to change your mind? Will you even change your mind?"
Her chest remained still as she crossed her arms over it, not even bothering to pretend to breathe anymore. "You could have told me your problems, given me a chance to tell you my side of things; but instead you do exactly as Karan did and lump me in with all the rest of my kind. You say you think so well of me and yet you damn me because of what I am. Tell me, how am I supposed to react to that?"

"Wonderful, simply wonderful" Luca said, sighing contentedly "I didn't have the chance before to really look at this place...excuse me." Luca caught sight of a stray dog and started following it.
"I'll guess I'll stay with the rest of the group then" said Seizan.

He hadn't meant to hurt her. He opened his mouth to speak, and then closed it again. I made a huge mistake, but what can I say to fix it? I really need to be more careful with what I say. "Look, I didn't mean that. I just tend to say things without realizing just what it is I'm saying. I'm sorry."

Zareb was clearly excited about the park, no longer able to control him self, he took off and leaped into the nearest tree.
Relaxing on one of the huge limbs he sighed "ah just like home"

"This city is simply wonderful and breathtaking." said Nightingale awed by what she saw. "And the park is simply stunning. Why don't we take a break here for a while and enjoy the scenery. It would be a shame if we left so soon... So tell me, kind sir, how long have you been staying in this city? if you don't mind me asking... Isn't it lonely living here all by yourself? " Nightingale said in a soft voice.

There was a howl heard off in the distance and Luca came back, dabbing the side of his mouth with a lace napkin.
"Excuse me for that" Luca said, smiling weakly.
"Master, you must be more careful" pleaded Seizan, "I'll have some Vitae brought from your house if you need any more."
"No, I can't be drinking something that powerful yet" Luca answered.

Jadelyn nodded once before looking away, biting at her lower lip. It was a nervous habit, one that had managed to survive all these years as a vampire. "Well, why don't we go somewhere not so public, since anyone can easily overhear our conversation...and you can tell me what you did mean?" She paused to turn her head back to look at him. "Or if you really wish it then I can leave you be. You can stay at my place but I'll keep to myself."

"This was my mortal home," he said with a nostalgic smile. "I've lived here all of my life, and I will always return home after my travels. I cannot be loney in this city, there are too many people for that."
He held out his hand for her to take if she chose, meaning to 'enjoy the scenery' with a walk through the park unless she would prefer something else.
He was somewhat proud that his guests found his city to be pleasing, and glad that the park reminded Zareb of 'home', wherever that was.

Nightingale took the offered hand. "How, if I may ask, did you became a vampire? You know, it must be nice to remember the past. I... well I have no recollection of my past, my childhood, nor of my parents. The only thing I remeber is my name. I never felt lonely or sad while travelling alone though. But I must confess, having a tour of this city with two companions is a nice change" Nightingale said with a soft smile.

I didn't mean anything by it except that I'm just a little on the quick to act side, is all. And I agree, maybe we should get out of here, we're getting a lot of weird looks..." Kamiru said, looking around. He instinctively looked up toward the moon. It seems that the moon had always been around to protect him in some way or another. He turned back to Jadelyn, smiling slightly. "Shall we go, then?"

Jadelyn nodded again with a quick smile before heading out the door. Her hands played with the clasps on her jacket as she continued to chew at her lower lip. Her confusion had reached a point where she couldn't contain it anymore. She had tried long ago to cut herself off from the mortal world, believing that she could no longer be a part but the years in which she lived the life of a hermit were torture to her.
She was an outcast of her kind because of her strong connections to humans and an outcast to humans because of the curse upon her. So she had perfected the art of walking the edge, using her art to take part in the mortal world while she avoided her kindred.
She walked silently, eyes distant as her thoughts tried to work out her situation with Kamiru. Things always became complicated when she felt an attraction for a human and now she was stuck wondering if Kamiru would ever give her a chance.

Kryss smiled when he felt her hand in his, frowned slightly at the question, and began again to walk.
"The devil who killed my brother decided to keep me as a pet," he said, refering to the immortal who had changed him as a demon, although it had not been so. "I am sorry, mi'lady. It is not at all a happy story, and the night does not need to be made darker by my ramblings."
The park was the most beautiful place in the city after dark and the coloured leaves that drifted slowly to the ground only added to its beauty. The air was tinged by a faint scent of decaying leaves, only a shadow of the future when the entire park would be filled with such a cloying smell. There was a symphony of night birds and crickets, each singing their melodies with delight in the darkness of the night and the light of the cresent moon and its host of stars.
"I would love to hear of your travels," he said with a smile, "if you wouldn't mind, mi'lady."

"Forgive me for asking such a personal question. I sometimes forget my place." Nightingale said a little embarassed. "I have traveled to many places for most of my life I don't know where to begin... I guess the most special place that I have been to would be the ocean at night. It was my first time in my whole life to see such a beautiful scenery like that. It's calmness mystifies me and the sound of the waves are like music to my ears.", says Nightingale with a dreamy look in her eyes.

"The ocean is very beautiful," he agreed, smiling at his memories of various beaches he had seen. Perhaps he would return to one of them someday soon.
He heard the bushes on the side of the path rustling with something hidden in them and stopped, watching the brush curiously for whatever may peek through the leaves.
The demon could not hide in something so small, and it seemed unlikely that Sundavar would hide at all. It could be, of course, some other creature wandering the night as they were, but what it was, exactly, he waited to see.
