He was with other first years, including Ron, Ginny, and the famous Harry Potter.He hadnt talked to him yet, but Dylan hoped they were in the same house

He sighed peacefully. The school had so many good memories for him...this was far more of a home than he had ever had. He hoped that the sorting would begin soon; Dumbledore had a way of dragging these out far longer than need be. Still, once the first years arrived, his "secluded" part of the table would be filled, and that was the last thing he wanted, especially with Harry Potter allegedly in this year's group. "Great," he mumbled. "Ten Galleons says he's going to be a Gryffindor, like his parents. I'm going to get stuck sitting next to the famous kid, aren't I? Hurry up, Dumbledore. I want to get this over with and go to bed."

Anna found herself shoved and pushed near the back, the many students turning and inspecting the room. She looked around, but found no familiar faces, not even those other people she had seen before on the train. She just hoped that her being here would not be a mistake... or a bad experience.

Ronald Weasly made his way up to the front. He had been looking all over for Harry. He just disappeared and left him hanging, int he middle of a shake too! Of all the nerve. He saw that one girl from before... Shuki? Something like that. He wondered about that test Fred and George were talking about... would he really have to wrestle a troll?


The entrance of Professor McGonagall would soon answer questions for many new years.

He shushed her frantically and peeked around to make sure no one was looking. "How did you know that was...? Never mind, don't call me that in public!" he hissed. "It's just Ron."

"Quite please." Rang the woman's voice. "Everyone please quiet down and pay attention, I will not repeat anything."

"Excellent," he smiled. "We're beginning at last." He looked up and down the row but saw hardly another empty seat. "Please let Harry Potter be in a different house. Any other house. I don't care. Give him his own effin House. I don't want him to sit down here. I don't want to be near that much attention..."

The older woman studied the nervous young first years critically, sweeping over them through her spectacles.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," said Professor McGonagall. "start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take tour seats you will be sorted into your houses.Sorting is a very important ceremony because while you are here, your house will be your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with you the rest of your houe, sleep in your house dormitory, and spend free time in your house common room.
"The first years will be sorted into one of four houses: Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, and Slytherin. Each house has it's own Noble History and has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, you triumphs will earn your house points, while any rule-breaking will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup, a great honor in this school. I hope each of you will be a credit to which ever house becomes yours.
The sorting ceremony will begin in just a moment. I suggest you smarten yourselves up as best you can while waiting."
And with that final note, she turned on her heel, sweeping her deep emerald velvet robes around her as she stepped hurriedly through the door, closing it with a small click behind her.

The Weasly twins grinned excitedly at each other.
"Well, that must mean we're going to start soon." George said.
"Finally, I hope it doesn't take too long, I'm starving!" FRed said irritably.
"It always takes too long, you know that."
"You think Harry will get into GRyffindor?"
"He needs to! WE can't let him get into Slytherin! Ravenclaw is a'right too I guess. Wouldn't really want Hufflepuff though..."
