Ayise sighed and leaned on her knees, "Kumi-chan, are you a compulsive liar? If you've got something to say, spill it." She prodded. "I wish my sister could keep up with me, she spends all her time in the library buried-" She snickered, "-In her books." She remembered last time they'd fought she'd pushed a bookshelf over Courtney, she'd been fine of course, but she hadn't spoken to Ayise for a week after that...
"You've got plenty to hide Kumi-chan. Even if you won't let me read your mind I can sense your feelings."

"I don't let anyone read my mind, that's why I've been working on a mental block since I've been here. And... I tell more lies than I do truths. I'm just used to living that way; it's hard when a person wants to know this much about me..."
He let out a breath of air and laid down on his back, looking up at the sky. "It's beautiful out today." He quieted down, and remained lost in thought for a minute. Finally, he said, "No, there really was nothing to spill. Just trying to make small talk."

Ayise got quiet, unusual for her; she absently munched without a word, no humming, no fidgeting. Just normal...normmal behavior...
She held her head down, obviously in deep thought, which must have been horrible for any mind readers. It was probably an overly-cheerful and confusing place. Like a maze of smiley faces; the only clue to what could be going on was the slow redding of her ears which spread over her face. She was blushing again.

Kumizu looked over at her. What now? He sat up again. Her face looked almost sunburned, she was blushing so much. He took a bite of an apple, watching her. It was normal for him to be confused and have no idea what Ayise was thinking... or saying... or doing, but she wasn't her usual cheerful self. In fact, she had been this way since they had gone to the cafe.

Ayise looked at Kumizu, "Something wrong, Kumi-chan?" She asked sweatdropping, he was staring at her...
She began pulling at her scarf on her her arm nervously.
It was about this time she realized Kii-kun was gone, it didn't take long to find him, he'd been sunbathing near the fence post the whole time. Somehow she felt betrayed...
Ayise was so spaced out she didn't notice when she began to eat jalapenos instead of grapes.

"No, nothing's wrong." Ayise seemed so nervous, he couldn't understand. She looked over at the snake as if it was an escape. Why did she look so anxious to get away? And if she was... why didn't she?
When she grabbed a jalapeno instead of a grape, he figured she had done it on accident. There was still a pile of grapes right next to her. Hell, it may have been on purpose, but Kumizu had a bad habit of assuming. He pushed the bowls away and lightly grabbed her hand before she could put it in her mouth. They were sitting right next to each other now. He smiled and said, "Just making sure you realize that's not a grape."

"..." Ayise laughed nervously,
"Kumi-chan, you say you can live on water, right? Then what's the point of eating, if you stay underwater long enough would you evolve into a real mermaid? Or maybe you'd absorb all the water. Where does all of it go? Does that mean you're some kind of fish and you haven't told me Kumi-chan? Thatv wouldn't surprise Ayise. And why is Kumi-chan's hair blue? Is it because it's made of blueberries?" She was back to her happy-go-lucky train of thoughtm even though she was still completely red.

Screw it. Kumizu's hand was still on Ayise's, and he leaned over and kissed her. He wrapped his free hand around her waist. He knew she'd just break away, and probably run away; he guessed she would use the snake as an excuse, but for now he could enjoy the moment. After all, she stopped rambling.

"...!!" Ayise tensed and then relaxed. Clsing her eyes before they popped open again.
"Nnngh..." She put her hands on his chest not sure if she should push him away, eventually she pressed back in a gesture of vague resistance. "..." She gave in.

Kumizu opened his mouth, letting his tongue slide into hers. It only lasted for a moment, because she seemed to be pressing against him. He broke off the kiss and turned away, but he didn't move from his spot on the ground, which was right next to hers.
At this point Kumizu had no idea what to say. It felt... He wasn't sure how it felt. He took a grape and popped it into his mouth, chewing thoughtfully.

Ayise had retreated to the railing over the cliffs and was leaning on it, her hat pulled over her face.
Kii-kun merely lefted his head and went back to dozing in the sun.
She was breathing fast, her mind racing at two million miles a minute, instead of it's usual one million. Her face was hidden into her hands; she was unusually still. Slowly, her breathing evened out but she didn't move.

All Kumizu could do was stare at her. He felt like he couldn't move; maybe that he shouldn't. She was covering her face, no doubt trying to hide her blushing. He felt it coming upon his face as well. Come on, go talk to her, his conscience seemed to urge him on.
Slowly he gathered the courage to. He quietly stood and walked over to the railing, leaning on it next to her. "Listen, I... um..." He still couldn't think of anything to say.

Ayise took off her hat and it flew over the grass and over Kii-kun who slithered from under the hat with contempt.
She looked up, her face still pink and her ears a bright red. "Yes, Kumi-chan...?" She looked up at him with an expectant face, apparently waiting for him to say something.

Kumizu didn't understand why Ayise suddenly abandoned her hat, but that was the least of issues. He was still nervous as hell, and still couldn't find the words he needed. "Uh... about the, uh, kiss... I just, um..." He gulped nervously. "I'm not sure what it was that led to that... so... uh..."

"Um? Lost for words, Kumi-chan?" she leaned in, "I can't understand you when you stutter, you're articulant; speak to me." She shrugged, "Or I may just invite myself into your mind." It wasn't much of a threat, whenever she tried it it was pure white noise. It was actually a bit fustrating. If she couldn't pin his source of thought down she wouldn't be able to hear his thoughts.
It was very simple, she was bluffing.
'That's just a way to keep away from saying you're lieing.'
