"I agree. hand it over, please."
Yes her playing with that was not a sight he wanted to see. and her taking it with her on that little trip of hers had bothered him a lot. it was not something for her to play with, and not something for her to get attached to.

Look at that, he said please. It was a certain tone she was aware of in his voice though. It was this asking her to do something and hoping she'd do it the first time because whatever she was doing put him off kilter, voice. A few more rotations of said object, apparently thinking it over. "I guess since you said please and didn't snatch." Counter movement of her wrist and flipping it back up in her palm before flipping it over once more to hold out in his general direction, other hand lightly resting on the excess chain in her lap. "Damn right useful, despite it connotations..." Like a certain something else actually.

"useful in the right hands. terrible in the wrong."
but he took it and wrapped it around his arm, and bunched it up.
"I don't want you thinking about this, or what it's used for, or how it can be used. That wretch is dead, and his soul is suffering in the abyss until it even prays every second for non-existance."
Before giving out a whistle, that brought out Tremor, to whom it was tossed.
"Melt it down. make a sword or something out of it."
Tremor nodded, and malik sat by his wife.
"It bothered me a lot to think that you had that in your bags when you left. the thing doesn't need to be anywhere near you ever again. just like it's wielder will never be anywhere around you ever again."

Yes this was just so funny to him. She was lying on the couch with two little elves squirming on top of her while their little fingers became dagger like and dug into her skin. They weren't intending it that way and it didn't really hurt, just made her squirm and laugh all at the same time. It was amazing one of those boys didn't catch a knee to the face or a flailing wrist. Of course that's probably why Sevilin had used runics on her because he knew how ticklish she could be and the flailing was dangerous for the children's well being. Somehow she didn't think Piper would take it very well if Zahara accidentally killed Malikhai, especially in light of the situation that had just taken place. "Alright boys! You win! No more.."
He glanced at his friend and finally shrugged then merely sat on his mother. "Oh alright, we'll stop."
"Oh good." She was quiet for a moment and then glanced at the boys. "Malikhai, Zykariel, can I talk to you about something for a moment? This is a rather personal subject to bring up but I think it's important that we talk about it. Is that alright?"
He glanced at his father and his friend for a moment then just nodded.
"Alright. Now remember this is just a hypothetical situation, not real at all. But in the event that it did occur...how would you feel about having a little brother or sister?"

Piper tilted her head lightly as she watched him as he proceeded to confiscate the object that she had been paying a little bit too much attention to for the most part. "You mean you don't want it physically around me to think on such things." But hey now...giving the order to melt it down...it wasn't like she could melt down his sword. He'd have a heard of cows if she did. Eyes following his form as he sat down next to her. "If he's not ever going to be around me ever again, then why does it bother you that the weapon was on my person?" Interesting admissions brought on interesting conversations.
Oh lord, she brought up the subject of children to the children. Or rather of them having siblings. Was she honestly going to let what they said influence her decision. With the right about of puppy eyes and cute voice, those kids could convince you to go fight a dragon just so they could have a real dragon scale in thier collection of things. But for the moment he kept his mouth shut.
He stopped his tickling and plopped down onto the floor for a moment, getting his own giggles under control before he looked up to Zahara. Personal? He though personal things were only for family? But they were kinda family. The question didn't seem so personal once it was asked. "Good? I'd protect them. That's what big brothers do."
And where had he learned the family dynamics proposal? Well, that would be the odd arrangement between the close relationships that surface elves had. Isleandra could be called Piper's big sister, Piper was Lharika's big sister. Surface elves seemed to have a fabulous was of coping such things.

Zahara nodded, that was a positive answer from Malikhai and while she had already pretty much made her decision, this affected the little boy as well. Somehow she had a feeling neither Piper nor Malik had even asked what he wanted. "If you got the choice, Malikhai, would you like to have one or would you rather not? Same with you Zykariel. Some things would probably change, moreso for you Kariel, than Malikhai since he's used to having you around and Lharika and all."
Zykariel glanced back at his father for a moment once again and then looked downa at his mother. "But hypothetical means it's not real, right?" At her nod he tilted his head and thought about it. "Would I have to give up my room and my toys?"
A shake of her head, "No. The baby would probably sleep in one of the other rooms down the hall, or with us for the first year or so. You would have to share your toys, though, eventually."
"Oh. Well then, I guess it'd be okay. But you would love him the same as you would me, right?" Glancing over at his father for confirmation.
"Or her and yes, we would."

"yes I know you can't melt Malvolence, and for good reason...moreso than you might think. that, however...I won't let that attach to you like that sword to me."
a lean forward, watching the arena sands.
"We never forget. things that were long ago can be at once fresh and new. I saw what he did to you. I saw what that thing did to you. the look in your eyes, the sound of your voice. the way it affected you. I never want to see that look, or hear that tone ever again come from you. and I won't let that weapon trigger a reverie that bring what happened back upon you."
resting his elbow on his knees.
"there are many times I wish I could cast Malvolence aside. not hear it's voice, not feel what it makes me feel when I don't keep it close. If I knew what that blade would do to me when I first was handed it, I would have left it alone. My father's final gift, his final prison to place me in."
Leaning back some.
"Malvolence and I unfortunately are solidly bound in a symbiotic relationship. it empowers me, I feed it. but those tendrils go deep. Malvolence would be hard pressed to accept another wielder completely, and I would become weak and withdrawn at length. I would probably recover, once Malvolence found itself a new owner...once it's tendrils were into someone else. but that is my burden to bear. melting down the blade, destroying it would probably damn near shatter my mind from the feedback. that blade would not go quietly into the night."
Looking back over at her, lightly caressing her cheek.
"Kaden is gone. and his tool will be soon enough. nothing to remind you, nothing to trigger a reverie to send you into a place I never want to see you go again. I don't ever want to see your eyes without that light in them, or hear your voice without your strength, love, or passion. not ever again."

He nodded to his son whenever he looked back. Seemed the child was making sure that it was okay to either answer things or that he was going to get the same answer as he did from his mother on the subjects that were being spoken of. Approaching children with hypothetical situations though...he didn't know how he felt about that.
Malikhai merely listened, watching her. Seeming to think a moment, he looked off...and then shrugged. "I dunno." After all to him it didn't seem like a big deal. A look over to Zykariel. "Wouldn't you haveing a brother or sister just be like having me around all the time?"
She tapped her nails on the arms of her chain lightly and barely noticibly as he began in his explainations. But a look away and more or less staring forward as he brought up what had happened. The main reason she didn't like to talk about it? Because she had been so proud of how she presented herself in the underdark. Yet that same pride had been her own fault. She had never been one to openly show fear, but she had. One of those things she had strived to never show to him since she'd been with him.
Then there was the talk of the blade...something neither of them would probably escape. He would most likely always be a host to the parasite and no matter what he said, she'd always be jealous of and in competition with it. Though he gained her glance when he brushed his hand over her cheek and she turned her head to fully gaze at him. "Nothing but myself that is." Shaking her head lightly. "Like now...my pride of the moment wants to make me do things that are better advised against. Whenever I do that I always seem to end up worse off than when I started..."

Violet eyes stared at Malikhai for a moment and then a big grin appeared on his face. "Yup, it sure would. I'd be okay with that, definitely."
And Zahara felt the need to interject right there though she did ruffle Malikhai's hair lightly. "Not exactly, little one. You remember being a baby don't you? Too little to play or run around and all you could do was eat and sleep? Well, if we have a little brother or sister, they will start out just like that. It will be the same as it was with you. The baby will start out inside me and stay there for a long time then it will come into the world and be too little to do anything for a while. One day it will be like having Malikhai around and you can play with him or read her stories and protect him too. But again, this is all hypothetical. As of now, we're not getting one, okay?"
"I made messes too. But Daddy likes messes. Hey, maybe we should have one just so Daddy has someone to clean up after all the time!"
She laughed and sat up plopping a kiss on his forehead, "We already have that. You make enough messes to keep Daddy occupied every day."
Zykariel turned very sober and solemn and shook his head. "But I wont' forever Mommy. One day I'm gonna get real big and not make any messes anymore. And then what will Daddy do? He'll go lock himself in that room, won't he?" A look to Daddy. "Will you?"

"Well not always. sometimes do make for good stories to laugh about later. and your pride is attractive. or at least to me it is. a lioness is proud and strong, sleek and firm and wonderful to watch. and so are you. though your claws are much more gentle then the animal's would be on me I imagine."
a small smile.
"Everything will work out. hell if I have to have these clerics around here ask for a few divine interventions I will."
picking her up and setting her on his lap.
"Is there anything I can do to ease your thoughts?"

He rolled his eyes. Even his child knew about his compulsion to clean if not the reasoning behind it. Point was he still knew about it. "Don't need a baby for messes...she's right you do make enough mess. And believe it or not, even when you're big, you'll make messes...look at mommy, she throws things and breaks them all the time." A little amused look at that as he illustrated his point. "And no, I won't lock myself in that room."
"I mean it would be that he has to share the love and not have it all himself." But it seemed that this conversation was diverting from the inclusion of him and was focusing on Zykariel getting a little brother or sister. A blink at that, but okay. Grown ups did those kinds of things sometimes. So he just kind of plopped on the floor, Yinn wasting no time in tackling his person.
"Funny, all I can remember when it's presented in front of you is that it breeds a yelling match, then a fight where one or both of us says something bad, I go do something stupid, and you go brood and maim something." Shaking her head lightly, but letting him move her from her seat to his lap without fuss about it. A snicker though. "Gods don't often look to us with favorable light, remember? They may smote us and think they're doing the right thing by us." Giving a sigh and dropping her head into her hand a moment, gathering her composure somewhat in front of him before looking back up. "No...I just have to learn to start accepting things."

"No you don't have to accept things. you want more children, I will give you more children. with or without Zahara's help. I just don't want you trying things on your own. It took her a long time to get something that would work, and then you bled like a faucet until she figured that out. I just don't want to get up in the morning and you with a test tube in your hand and no pulse."
hugging her lightly.
"Besides, we need a girl so your father doesn't fill fourty journals with Malikhai and all his quirks. gotta have someone to distract him so he only fills twenty."

"Yeah but that's going to stop soon enough." He had a feeling that once his mother got sent to her room for time out after throwing something, she wouldn't be doing it anymore. "I know!" Grinning down at Yinn as his eyes lit up with this new idea. "We could get a pet. They make messes all the time and they are ready to play even when they're babies. And then I could have something that was all mine to learn responsibility." Puppy eyes at both his parents.
She had been leaning towards a baby but a pet was inevitable wasn't it? He'd been asking for one since Malikhai had gotten Yinn. And the truth of it was that itw asn't that unreasonable of a request. "We'll talk about it later."
He pouted. "That means no. You'll just tell me tomorow at breakfast and then promise someday." A shake of his head and he slipped down off his mother and onto the floor, petting Yinn.

She sighed, resting her head against his chest. Malik just brought lovely visions to mind didn't he? He had a flare for that. "I know you just worry about me is all. I just hate being out of place down here sometimes is all. It always seems to be these little things too." Not that it was a little thing, but she was saying it as such to make herself feel better. But a look up to him, somewhat giving him a smile. "And even if we didn't have a girl in our next go, it would still cut down on his journal time.
And it was back to the pet talk wasn't it? Yes it sure was. He considered things a moment...obviously the Nym is your pet excuse wasn't going to work for very much longer. He wanted his own thing that would get into all kinds of trouble. A look to Zahara at her answer and then a look to his son. "What kind of pet would you want, son?"

Zahara's eyes widened. Were they getting him a pet now? was he going to make such a decision without even asking her opinion. If he did, she felt a fight coming on and the last thing she wanted to do with him was fight. Her head was beginning to give her issues again, so she rested it against the arm of the couch and watched the boys playing on the floor with the rapidly growing draithix.
"A draithix would be neat. Or a dog of some sort, I've seen them around you know." He lifted his knees and plopped his elbows on them thinking it over. "A snake would be the neatest but you can't get one that's poisonous. What would you be willing to let me have?"
