Yeah, but it's what, 90% of Ork combat is intended for CQB.

I'm going to play with one of my friends and we'll swap sides, familiarize ourselves with the rules, etc.

It might look like that, but orks are able to outshoot most armies you know, just have a peek into their codex. ninja

Sure they're BETTER at fighting, but they can hail out more shootin' than a shooty space marine force and still have a good chance in combat which the marines would have problems with due to a big lack of numbers. mrgreen

A thousand greenies throwing rocks, is more like it.

I see you yet haven't faced 60 shots at your precious terminators being charged and getting 90 attacks against them? (I love doing that, 30 shoota boyz ftw)

It seems like you're one of those who have yet to face a real greenskin horde. wink

I played against the number 7 guy in the country. He whooped me with like thirteen boyz and three kans.

I know they have great potential in the proper hands, I just like messing with you. :p

Then stop messing since I'm a "serious" ork player so to say~ I can't see sarcasm even if it was infront of me.

It's hard to see sarcasm and emotion in text, but eh, I keeeed!

The beauty in the Orks is the fact that anything can be Orkified.

I've got a model of a Gustav artillery gun downstairs that one of the guys suggested I turn into an artillery piece for them.

If it didn't cost so much and wasn't my pride and joy I might do it.

That sounds like a neat idea tho'

Now to some ground-breaking news! I'm building one of the game's most BS units... Biker Nobz... ;D

I plan on having 10 of them, no one with the same equipment as the others... Expensive? Yes... Insane? Yes... Fun to field? DAMN RIGHT IT IS!

Tho' I've only started with 3 nobz so far, one kombi-skorcha, one powerklaw + bosspole and one big choppa, and next month I hope I'll be able to get me another 3, one of them being a painboy. ;D

I was planning on sticking a skorcha in my bikernobz when I expanded them, for now it's just three, and it's powerklaw city in that biatch. Great for plowing into vehicles. they used to be landraider eaters back in fourth, but now they're content with russes and dreads.

Shinobi, I'd like to see your biker nob models, do you use the new ork bikes?
PostPosted: Sun Mar 01, 2009 11:47 pm

Aye, a combo of the biker set and the plastic nobz.

I'll see if I get to some picture-taking today, I might have a date with DoW II or Left 4 Dead with my cousin.

Ok, basically I'm here because I've started work on a Squiggoth and I'm not sure what to arm it with [big gun wise].
What would you guys suggest?

It's a scratchbuild and for now I'm thinking the gun mounts will be on the sides rather than on top, so maybe 2 of the same for rough symmetry.

Oh and if you want to see it in the current form, it's in the painting and thingy section of the guild biggrin
[I used to play orks and I had my preferences for big guns, but I'm trying to work out what would have the most benefit of being stuck to a giant horny beast xd ]

Make the weapon swappable?

And for making it swappable, you don't even have to spring for magnets. It would look suitably Orky to have a big old bolt head sticking out above the weapon platform.

Well I was thinking of some big ole plates of metal bolted into the sides of the guns and bolted to the 'floor' with pins, that way it could look like they just unscrew them razz

Hey, quick rules question guys, I cannot find this in the faq.

If I put a mek with a Kustom-Force-Field in a transport vehicle, where do I measure the 6" KFF range effect from? Should I just put the mek in the bed of the trukk and measure from his base? Or in the case of closed top vehicles, what then?

My theory? Usually I just treat it like a unit firing from a transport. I measure the KFF from the vehicle's sides, or alternatively, the firing-points.

It came Up in a game yesterday when a marine-boy got pissed at my armored column rolling fifty angry orks up the board, all the while shrugging off hits cuz of the field. Gork, I love big meks!
