In previous rps, VoW to be specific, a Trandoshan character did, and I don't think anyone minded. So, yeah, thatd' be fine.

The pirates would almost certainly speak basic and Dosh. If they operated in teh Kashyyk system then wook-speak as well.

Well, they'd understand Shyyriwook, but Noone but Wookiees and protocol Droids can really do it justice.
