I hear you. I reserved Fallout: New Vegas clear back last March when the preorder packs first came out. My 360 died exactly 30 days before the release date of New Vegas.

Damn, what kind of broke? Was it three ring, or one of those issues that Microsoft is to stingy to replace?

Three ring. I probably shouldn't complain about it too much, honestly. It was one of the first generation 360s and I never had a problem with it until then. And I bought it clear back just a month or so after they first came out.

Wow... that's damn good luck for you... of course the xbox I repaired was first gen too, I tink a day or two after they came out. no three ring, but it was freezing regularly.
Edit: I guess I should say first batch, not gen...

Oh... you never attempt to fix a 3 ring victim without a spare xbox. Microsoft replaces 3 ring... or fixes IDK...

They replace the three ring. But not without a rather large fee when the warranty has expired.

larger than the cost of a new xbox?
... nevermind. A new one is more worth it anyway. My xbox has gotten 3 ring 3 times now.

Almost. I think the new ones cost $200 now. Sending a broken one in was like $150 with shipping and handling included, I think. Easier to buy a new one, all told.

yea, but when you add in the fact that adding in the new one means getting the new 360 (the black one is like, 75% different from the original) it also adds morth worth to the console than getting an old on fixed for almost the price of a much better one... ******** microsoft...

Except that the new ones aren't compatible with the old hard drives. So I lose all my old points, saves, and everything else.

No Xbox live. And I refuse to buy a half dozen memory cards that I will never use again just so I can copy everything over.

Feral Knight No Xbox live. And I refuse to buy a half dozen memory cards that I will never use again just so I can copy everything over. ... No he means you can download it from the internets. You don't need to pay for a gold membership to do that... Everyone automatically has a silver membership.

I know what he means. I. Do. Not. Have. Xbox. Live. Never have. My tag never made it onto the net.
