Feral Knight I'll check it out, but if it is the etiquette guide, then it would actually be the easiest. EDIT: And here I was starting to wonder if the reason you were taking so long to reply was because my editorial pissed you off. Easy? Oh, I was thinking it was long, and people have brought up a lot of things without a way to fix them. I'm not upset, I'm grateful, but dinner and then tv distracted me, and now I need to head offline. sweatdrop I already started the revision, but I want to finish it and go over it again.

It is long, Lillian. But it would be easy to evaluate because he doesn't keep to his subject. I was able to get maybe halfway through his first post when I wanted to tell him to wipe the whole thing and start over.
@Ten: You weren't expecting it to be perfect, I hope.

Hello my name is Death_Darkness_Desire but you may have known me from my mule account a year back called Whitepearl1.
I have been role-playing for three years now in the position that I like aiding a role-play grow more than being a casual participant.
I am devoted to the few role-plays I join and tend to stick with them unless situations happen. Such as that even the thread master leaves everyone in the guild hanging which infuriates me.
Because I have experience in role-playing I only tend to lean toward semi-literate role-plays and have experience in literate role-plays as well.
I love action, I can handle light romance but nothing heavy works for me such as slave role-plays with no story. I can handle end of the world, fantasy worlds, zombie invasions, futuristic cyborgs, but I love role-plays that have great back stories and leave space for the story to move and branch out. Stories held in by a plot line since the beginning tend to become very boring since what happens is already known.
I will give everyone a chance if you are willing to send me a link to look at. However that does not mean I will join because you invite me. As for most I need to see something I like and something to work with.
I tend to not join because of the following things: The story is not thought out, there are to many members, the thread master is to busy with other things, the other members of the guild aren't constant or just quit.
I hope to make many friends here and I hope you respect how I work. ~DDD

Not at all, not at all. Perfection for me is an unattainable goal.

Wow, thanks for putting me on the list so many times Lilly! /pretend sarcasm
You are correct, and I'm a bit surprised that you noticed that I'm one of those people that can take it. Well, I guess I have resorted to almost begging in the thread in the main forum.
@Feral, I know, but when I planned it out, I couldn't come up with a way to do it without some basics. I just see so much of the same, such as problems with images, that I couldn't help but add. I've seen many occasions where someone will use a giant image because they don't know how to shrink it, or if they do they don't know how to make it show up for people too thick to alter profile settings for images that are allowed to display. Things like that kept coming up so that I came to the conclusion that basics had to be included or the main group of people that need the guide wouldn't be able to use the information. I do think it is funny that there have been some suggestions that I expand the basics areas, like for adding BBCode tips. When I saw your post, I thought "Finally! Someone that actually gets the point of the guide!" I suppose that having too much basic info might have been part of why people wanted more of that, but that is why I want a lot of advice before finalizing the information and design and posting the finished version without the 'beta' tag.

I'm debating as to whether or not I should restart the Tavern.
I do have another rp I'm working on but I won't be done with it anytime soon. XD

XDDDD.
It's not like it's a difficult rp to make considering the simplicity of it.
The last time I did this it got to like 50 something pages though, and people keep nagging me to get it active again. XD
My characters ranged from Juliet, a militaristic chef, the suave rich heir, and the town stripper~ XD

Wow, all I had was a girl with a night job that passed out from sleep before drinking booze, and a guy that wanted the Russian chef even though she wanted the barkeep/owner. xd Ah, that was fun. Too bad Veste isn't around anymore, you two had some great chemistry in RPs.

In all honesty, I think the LAST thing you should be doing is adding to the generals section. Rip all of it out and, if you feel you must have it, turn it into another guide. Ockham's Razor dictates that the simplest explanation is usually the right one. The simplest reason here for something being wrong with your guide is that you didn't stick to the point. Ever had one of those teachers that gets sidetracked and ends up spending 90% of the class time talking about something entirely unrelated to the class? That's exactly what happened here.

Will a guide like that work if it requires an initial level of intelligence or previous knowledge? He has mentioned that the guide could be an advertising ploy if it is good enough, and idea I rather like.

Right now I'm rewriting stuff for the Tavern, just finished the rules.
Lillian, do you think I should make a list of ideas of what people could have their character be?

hrm...
Actually I think that would help. It would spice up what would have been rather bland characters (mine included), and give an idea of what level the characters should be at (human, not special magical). It also would serve to make it easier for some characters to enter the RP, already knowing a lot of the RPCs.

He has mentioned that the guide could be an advertising ploy if it is good enough, and idea I rather like. All guides require an initial level of intelligence or previous knowledge. Just about all of these guides have used terms like Gary Stu or Mary Sue. But none of these guides state what they are, except the one guide that is dedicated to munching.
