The boy waded a bit further in, having spotted something silvery glimmering under its surface. "I think I've found it," Naoki stated as he dipped down further, plunging his arm into the cold water and snatching the item from it. He turned to the stranger and held it up, treading to the shore. "Is this it? I sure hope so, it fits the description, and I don't think there's many rings like this just floating around in here, do you?" He looked to the other, smiling brightly.

Tatsumi's eyes lit up, taking the ring gently from the other to examine it. He let out a relieved sigh, smiling to it as he rubbed the water and dirt from the stone with his thumb. "Thank you so much," he spoke, turning his gaze to the other man. "Really, thank you so much."

"Don't mention it!" Naoki exclaimed happily, waving his hand about. "I like the water, so it's not a problem to go splashing through it to look for something." His bright smile was seemingly frozen to his mouth as he looked to the stranger. "I'm Naoki, by the way~ What's your name?" the boy asked, holding his hand out.

Tatsumi looked warily to the other male's hand, staring to it briefly before extending his own, clasping it in the other's. "Tatsumi. Nice to meet you, Naoki."

"I agree," the boy replied, shaking Tatsumi's hand happily. "So what brings you to the lake today?" Naoki questioned, gently releasing his grip and looking out to the water. "Do you come here a lot?"

"No, I hardly ever venture out of my room," Tatsumi breathed with a faint smile, hardly noticeable beneath his scarf. He looked towards the water, squinting as the sun reflected on the surface. "I thought it might be nice, though."

"Very nice!" Naoki nodded. The boy tore his sight from the water and to the other, his smile still in place. "How come you're always in your room?" he questioned, titling his head just slightly. "Do you enjoy being inside more than outside?"

"The sun is harsh," Tatsumi spoke slowly, staring at his feet. He fidgeted slightly, slipping the ring onto his middle finger. "I also don't like wind. Or heat. Or it being too cold," he explained, knowing that he would probably come off as strange, or worse.

"Somebody who is very particular about their sense of feeling," Naoki stated lowly. "You look very pale, so I guessed you probably stay inside a lot. Or maybe under a tree or something." The boy shrugged a shoulder, smiling to the other some more. "There's nothing wrong with being particular, Tatsumi-kun~ Why are you looking to the ground?"

Tatsumi slowly raised his gaze to meet the other's. He gave the smallest of smiles, his scarf falling low enough to reveal most of it. "I suppose I do that a lot. I feel as if... Well, if I am not looking at someone, then they are not looking at me. That makes me more comfortable, even if I want to look at someone... so that they do not see me."

"I think it's polite to look at someone if you're talking with each other, but I guess I understand if you're shy or something," the boy began. "And you seem like a shy person. Are you a shy person, Tatsumi-kun?" Naoki looked to the other happily as he rambled. "I won't look at you if you don't want me to, but then I wouldn't be able to see something like that~" He gestured to the other's mouth where the scarf now failed to cover. "And you have such a cute smile!"

The boy quickly pulled his scarf back around his mouth, tightening it around his neck and shoulders so that it wouldn't fall again. He looked down, hoping that the thick blanket of protection also covered the blush that was burning his face. He let out a muffled sigh, his hands fidgeting with the hem of his scarf as he didn't speak. Instead, he shifted his weight between his feet, glancing up to Naoki without raising his head.

"Riiight," Naoki sighed, allowing his sight to fall to the ground as well. "I guess you're feeling very uncomfortable. I'm glad your ring was found, though." The boy nodded, wrapping his arms around himself. "Did I make you uncomfortable? I'm sorry if I did; I didn't mean to," he pouted.

Tatsumi shifted again, looking at Naoki curiously. It took a moment for him to say anything, but when he did, his voice came out smaller than usual. "You didn't... I... You can... can we sit down?" he asked, shifting his weight once again.

"Well, sure~" Naoki exclaimed, his expression brightening as he gestured further onto the shore. "Over there, or did you have another place in mind?" The boy smiled to the other, reluctantly, yet in a very friendly manner, patting Tatsumi's shoulder. "Where you'd like, friend!"
