Tenzil Kem Nah, you're not bad. But, you know...I've spent years trying to learn the guitar and practicing, and when people get up there and try to belt out some ancient hymn after five or six beers, it's.... well, cringe inducing to say the least.
You don't laugh at bad singers. You laugh with them.

DrReedRichards Actually it's very quite simple. If you consider the sound waves that are most commonly relased while people engage in "singing" the "notes" hit within certain points of the sound spectrum. The karaoke microphone I have found, is designed to make those notes even more erratic, and no longer being contained within the sound spectrum, which is what results in the aforementioned "screeching".

None of this addresses the fact that Lanterns has a perfectly "nice" Karaoke machine that people are free to use, rather then dragging their shenanigans in here, where I must, for the safety of all, eat all things Karaoke.
