a friend of mine brought up the age old pokemon VS digimon debate. i personally was at a loss.
but figured to rid of the godly pokemon/digimon.
so minus any god pokemon/digimon and it was a battle of non gods. who would win???
I think Pokemon are better in the game department.
But power wise.. if you were to put two of them in a fight.. it would depend.. Pokemon have weaknesses and resistances. Digimon do not. Pokemon have many moves at their disposal, Digimon are limited to one or two.
Pokemon have three stages tops.
Digimon can reach up to five or six.
So it depends on who's fighting.
Example.
Agumon vs Bulbasaur.
Agumon has Pepper Breath, which is a fire based attack. It'd be super effective. Plus, Agumon can digivolve if his partner's in the immidiate area. Greymon. Then Metal Greymon, then Wargreymon. While Bulbasaur would have to reach level 16 (if I'm not mistaken) to evolve into Ivysaur, who retains the Fire weakness.
Agumon wins.
Agumon versus Vulpix
Vulpix has the flash fire ability so it has a better chance of taking out Agumon. Mind you, that is if Agumon doesn't Digivolve into Metalgreymon or Wargreymon. Those have attacks that are not fire based. Even in the Ninetails stage I doubt it'd survive a fight against Metalgreymon.
Vulpix would win if Agumon stays in the Rookie stage. Because Agumon's ony attack is Pepperbreath. Vulpix would eat it up and then follow up with a multitude of attacks and status ailments.
It all depends on who's fighting.
Frankly. In general, Digimon over power pokemon considerably.
But Pokemon have better games ;D
