Red- Power. Typically used by evil characters.
Blue- Unlearned. Or one feels that they are not learned enough to deserve a green blade(ie: Obi-Wan Kenobi).
Green- Mastered. Knights and Masters are usually seen carrying green blades, but it is popular with advanced Padawans as well.
Yellow- Usually associated with healers.
Orange- Honor. Can represent strength as well.
Purple- Uncertainty. Some Masters choose this color to remind themselves that nothing is certain in the Universe.
White- Purity. Typically carried by very light-oriented Jedi.

Or something else?

Red
Blue
Green
Purple
Yellow
Orange
White
Black (Though there is only one of these, and its not really a "Light Saber") Well, I am a sith so I am bound to say Red, however, my favorite is the Sunrider's Destiny... Which you forgot to mention...

This may sound douchey but I always thought a jedi only needs a simple single lightsaber. Single balde for me 3nodding

I've had the privilage of using all the ones you listed, however, I like to dabble in Type 2 Jar Kai (Staff & Single Blade) I may move up to Type 3 once I get another staff...

Its not really a main though; kinda why I only gave a slight mention to Black; or didn't even bother mentioning ProtoSabers, or getting into the whole Synthetic Crystal deal.
Also there is only one of them so you kinda CANT use it normally XD
I am currently making a Plan for a Light saber version of the San-Ni staff (Which is more like a super charged Tazer of death)

Jedi dont like Double sided, seeing as how they are tools made for killing, unlike Normal sabers which are made to preserve the peace.

Oh! Forgot colors of the wield for me...
Right Hand - Red Staff, one blade 28 inches, opposite blade 36 inches.
Left Hand - Sunrider's Destiny (Teal sort of color) 36 inches.
(I'm gonna have to start posting pictures aren't I?)
PS - LEAVING FOR A COUPLE HOURS TO EAT AT THE WING JOINT ON CAMPUS!!

I think some people are curious about how their character might fair against another but don't really have much opportunity to test themselves in general RP. and as for the sabers.....There is always more to learn even for Yoda. The more power you have the more you must learn of it's nature. In this way we all students of the living force.

I think that would be perfectly fine, in fact I had an Idea kind of like that a while ago. Go ahead and make it...

He can Pull a freaking DESTROYER out of the Sky with Force Pull, There is NOTHING For Yoda to learn about the Force or Sabers!
