Kilik kept his eyes on Kasiya the entire time. Bad idea - he felt himself hit by a very slippery form. "Gah!" he turned and looked to find a Psyduck at his side. He stood up and backed off slightly. "Look, ducky. Go back to your trainer and enjoy the battle." He nodded in the direction of Keegan and then turned his attention back to Kasiya.
Take her down! he thought forcefully. His fists shook once. He grumbeled and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees and locking his fingers together. He smiled darkly at the girls in battle. Without a doubt, he enjoyed seeing Nina in a bind.

Nina's jaw dropped when she saw the boy speaking with Kasiya. Her head turned and her eyes followed him as he walked to the bleachers to sit down.
Ignore him. I can scream and yell at him later, Nina thought. If he's on my mind right now, I'll screw up. I can't have that-- No, it's a physical attack! I need to get Oracle out of there right now! the girl thought frantically, watching as Casimir sent the blaszing fast energy at Oracle. She knew that Alakazam in general had a poor defense. Would that Reflect be enough to keep her safe?
"Oracle, Teleport! Get away from that attack, right now!" she called out, knowing full well that Aerial Ace was an unavoidable attack. She felt as though issuing such a command would make it avoidable, even if it was just this once, but--
Oracle didn't move. She closed her eyes, crossing her arms in an X, vertically across her chest. She felt the wind blasting against her barrier, and heard a deafing shatter as it was broken. The attack rushed through, tearing into the Pokemon, knocking her down. She lay motionless.
"No, no!!" Nina yelled, looking to her Pokemon. "A one-hit knockout? I can't believe it! Why did I even bother to keep you out?!" The girl beat herself up over the situation, reaching for Oracle's Pokeball, and--
Oracle opened her eyes. Slowly, she levitated to her feet, much to Nina's shock. "It... Oracle! Oh my gosh, you survived the attack! I want you to use Recover!
The Pokemon shook her head, walking forward. "No, Nina," she replied. "If you had noticed, I made no attempt to dodge that move, whether it be unavoidable or otherwise-- that's because I wanted to get struck by it." The girl looked to her Pokemon with a confused expression on her face. "Wait, why would you want to be hit by an attack?"
Oracle smiled. "So that I can do this." With that, Oracle rushed forward at Casimir, performing a Counter.

Althena let out a small whimper of disappointment at Kilik's dismissal of her, turning back to Keegan and pointing up at the other boy. The look on her face clearly stated "He was mean to me, do something about it" but Keegan just rolled his eyes and beckoned for her to come back. "I told you," he scolded the dejected Psyduck once she'd waddled back over to him. "Not everyone wants to play, okay?" With sad little nod, Althena climbed back up into her seat, shifting around to get comfortable. Out of the corner of her eye, something caught her attention - it was her tail, which seemed to be glowing a light shade of pink. Althena blinked, but the glow suddenly ceased. Perplexed, the Psyduck tugged on Keegan's sleeve, but the redhead shrugged her off. "Just watch the battle, please," he told her, shaking his head.

He watched the Psyduck waddle away and he shook his head, turning his attention back to the battle. His eyes widened. Kilik clenched his teeth and made a move to stand up. "A Pokemon going against the orders of its trainer?!" he growled. A Pokemon in battle is supposed to do what its trainer calls for it to do! It figures. He smirked and sat back down, crossing one leg over the other. He also crossed his arms over his chest. "Nina obviously isn't skilled enough to handle that Alakazam!" he annouced.
He tapped his arm with the pointer finger of his other hand and raised an eyebrow, still smirking. When that happens, the other trainer clearly has the advantage! he glanced at Kasiya and his smirk became a smile, And that means that Kasiya's got this badge in the bag.

Casimir didn't make a sound as he felt the force of his own attack thrown back at him. The countered damage was enormous, but at the same time, he couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride upon becoming filled with the knowledge of his own power. Also - Oracle had made a dire mistake in getting that close to him. He clearly heard Kasiya shout at him to attack again, and he did just that, leaping at the Psychic-type and laying into her with his outstretched claws - Slashing and tearing at her soft skin just as Kasiya had ordered. The Dark-type knew that he didn't have much left in him, but he would take out this Alakazam no matter what.
Kasiya stared in amazement - she hadn't actually said anything yet, but a thin smile spread across her lips. This was the second time Casimir had done what she was about to tell him, and she made a mental note to check her PokeDex and see if Absol had any sort of power to see the immediate future. However, she turned on a heel to look at Kilik, and the darkness in her gaze had melted into a sincere look of pleading. Obviously, something had happened between them, and Kasiya didn't know what it was, but it was unfair for him to interfere in this battle, even if it could help her or not. "Kilik, please stop," she mouthed, the look in her sapphire eyes begged for Kilik to keep his comments to himself for the time being.

Nina clenched her fists tightly at her sides as she heard Kilik's comment about her being unfit to train Oracle. Things didn't get any better when she saw her Pokemon get slashed until she fell unconscious-- this time, she didn't awaken. He's wrong, Nina thought, Oracle just... wanted to try things her way, that's all. She pulled out Oracle's Pokeball, recalling her partner. Things weren't turning out anything like she had hoped that they would.
That was okay, though.
"Kasiya!" Nina called to her friend. "I had stated to you earlier that I would be using Psychic Pokemon in this battle-- note that I didn't specify how many I would be using!" Reaching for her belt, Nina snatched up an Ultra Ball, throwing it onto the arena. There was a flash of a bright white light, followed by an explosion of sparkles. The body of a long, sinewy Pokemon came into view, the bells on its tail and neck ringing pleasantly.
"Okay, Krystal! Take that Absol out-- Dragon Rage!"

He read Kasiya's lips perfectly and kept his mouth shut. However, that didn't keep his mind from yelling things. Granted, the boy knew that Nina could read minds. Maybe, if he 'yelled' loud enough, she'd 'hear' him. Kilik clenched his fists around a clump of sleeve and eyed Kasiya intently. This is her last Pokemon, he thought, Absol should be able to weaken Krystal enough for whatever Kasiya's next Pokemon is to take out.
He looked back over at Nina. You realize that Dragon Rage does a set amount of damage, right?! he growled to himself, It's not going to hurt Absol too much. Meanwhile, the dog can just whip around and hit you - hard. He looked at the floor and closed his eyes.

Maven looked over and saw the new supporter of the fighter. She didn't care how he dismissed Althena like that. Vixy started to curl up beside Maven and watched the battle take place.
Maven had held her breath watching the battle as the counter attack struck. She flipped over on her sketchbook to a new page but hadn't drawn anything yet. The battle had taken her full attention and she had to take a few breaths as she nearly passed out. if this is who Trevor has to battle I'm worried for him
"I wonder if its always this intense..."

Keegan turned to stare at Kilik for a moment after his outburst, but smirked. Granted, it wasn't the most pleasant of things Kilik could have said but it seemed to be doing the trick. He'd seen Nina watch him saunter over to the bench and sit down, and even though the two were perfect strangers to him, the tension between the two could have been cut apart by a Slowpoke's tail. However, the boy frowned at the sight of the Dragonair - it seemed rather underhanded to be using a dragon in a psychic gym.
Whatever, he thought, patting Althena's head. Airel is going to have a field day with that one.
Still bemused by the fact that her tail had been glowing pink, Althena scurried a bit closer to her trainer, resting her head against his side contentedly. The Duck Pokemon thought back to the last time she'd been in a gym battle - it had been during Keegan's first gym match with Roxanne. The Psyduck cringed at the memory - the gym leader herself had laughed at her! Althena folded her arms across her chest and frowned. She would Psychic attack Keegan into oblivion if he didn't let her battle in their next gym match.

Kasiya said nothing as Nina sent out the sparkling Dragonair she'd captured on Five Island. Her thoughts raced back to a battle she'd had long ago, against a trainer named Seth. His Dragonair had been tough, but that was because she didn't know what their weaknesses entailed. "Quick Attack, Casimir! Avoid those flames!"
Crouching low, Casimir's hips wiggled a bit and he raced forward, the bluish flames covering the area he'd once occupied. Kasiya knew it was more or less a kamikaze tactic, but she didn't think Casimir would mind dishing out a hunk of damage in the meantime. Swiftly the Absol jumped into the air, slashing at the dragon with his curved horn, knowing that the damage would be amplified because of his Swords Dance from earlier.

Krystal blinked, a little surprised, as she saw Casimir dart out of the way of the flames she sprayed at it-- however, this moment of surprise was quickly interrupted as she felt the Absol's horn digging against her upper body.
Nina, however, was irked at the fact that Casimir was able to dodge her Pokemon's attack. "I said to take it out!" she screamed, feeling her blood boil. "Do what you have to do, just knock the stupid thing out!"
The girl felt her insides turn cold after those words left her mouth.
She was truly her father's child.
A little shocked at the sudden increase in the volume of Nina's voice, Krystal did as she was told. Since Casimir was at such a close range, she would be able to attack with little penalty. The dragon brought her body back slightly, before lunging forward like a thrown spear in a Slam attack.

Maven leaned forward watching closely as they battled. Her own heart she could feel pounding against her chest worried over the Absol as it performed its attack. Maven's hands quickly went over the sketch book page displaying the attack she just needed the rough sketch she could flesh it out later.

Kasiya felt something start to let go inside of her, and she cast an icy glare at Nina. "My Pokemon is not stupid," she stated flatly, cringing inside as Casimir was batted away from Krystal effortlessly. The Dark-type looked up at her apologetically, but Kasiya smiled at Casimir, holding up his Ultra Ball and recalling him. "I don't know what is up with you lately, Nina, but it's not cool." Kasiya bit her bottom lip and closed her eyes. I'm sorry, Shocker, but there won't be anything you can do against a dragon...I'll make it up to you I promise. "You'd better prepare my badge, Nina, because it all ends here." There was something vastly different about Kasiya all of a sudden - the naive, immature girl everyone had grown to know over the past few months seemed to have all but disappeared. Kasiya was standing tall, looking more like an adult at this particular moment in time than she had in her entire life. "Prepare yourself!" she said firmly, holding her last Pokeball in her hands for a split second before she let it fly. In the usual entry of white light, Ariel appeared before her, blinking her diamond-like eyes in surprise at being summoned to the gym battle. Kasiya smiled, catching Ariel's Pokeball on the rebound. She knew that Krystal knew Thunderbolt, but it wouldn't be enough to counter her first partner. "You know what to do," Kasiya told her Vaporeon, and Ariel stepped forward, feeling a rush of icy energy gather in her mouth before she opened it and let out her powerful Ice Beam attack.

Kilik looked over at Maven. She must not understand how intense the world can be. The boy stared into the battle and smirked at the way Nina was acting. He knew for a fact that he was getting to her. He ran a hand through his hair and leaned back on the bleacher, his back pressed against the wall.
He stiffled a yawn, trying to make sure he stayed awake. He shook his head a few times. His eyes met at Ariel and a smile appeared on his lips. The Pokemon his Flareon had a crush on was now ready to sweep the field with Dragonair, whether Nina would like it or not.

Keegan looked over at Maven, furiously trying to finish a sketch of Casimir. The redhead sighed, and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Don't rush it," he said calmly, looking at the drawing out of the corner of his eye. "I'm sure Kasiya will let you draw him again later." He smiled at her, turning back to the battle in time to see Ariel appear in front of Kasiya. He rose, folding his arms across his chest and stared at the girl - no - he stared at the lovely young woman in front of him. "Go get her, Kasiya!" he called loudly. "Don't let anybody push you around! This badge is yours! Show them just how awesome you really are!" He was beaming now, and all of his troubles and worries were swept away by the thrill of battle as he watched the love of his life set her partner on the attack.
