(I see a lot of learning than. During your first post you wrote it in such a way that I'd thought the Foongus was speaking. Speech contained within "" should have some clear indication of whom the speaker is.)
(That said, "and I are here to prove our worth" should either be "and I am here to prove our worth" or more accurately as the use of 'our' implies she's speaking about both herself and the Foongus, "and we are here to prove our worth".)
(The sentence and no amount of intimidation will divert us!" A look of determination covers her face should contain an addition indicating the speaker, as I mentioned above. Something like and no amount of intimidation will divert us!" She said, look of determination covering her face or alternatively and no amount of intimidation will divert us!" Ilyssabeth declared, a look of determination covering her face. You may have noticed I also changed covers to covered. The former is present tense and the later is the proper past tense.)
(Also it should have been hopped and not hops when Seta moved off her foot.)
(....I feel like an English Professor rather than a Pokemon Professor.)
"Oooooo, like I haven't heard that one before! GWAHAHAHAAHAHA!" The voice cackled once more, adding with a sneer "Try not to wet yourself child." With each passing second the room filled the stench of rot, the temperature dropping with every second. Rather than call out a command to attack however, the disembodied voice seemed to belatedly recall something. A cluck of irritation sounded from the shadows before the floor would begin to glow near the young girl's feet. An instant later a small glass vial filled with a sickening acid green liquid would rise up "Have your Pokemon down that before we begin...assuming you want it to be more than compost after this. Hehehe" The voice instructed, adding that last bit with a dark chuckle.

(I put my words that way trying to stay in present tense like you had asked D: the red marks!!!))
Ilysabeth, ignoring the voices remarks, examined the vial for a moment, "Why should I have Seta drink that? For all I know it could be a rouse to weaken him for your advantage." She said to the ominous voice as she lifts up the vial for further examines the liquid inside.
"Give it to your Pokemon or don't child. It makes little difference to me; but remember, if your Pokemon dies here no Pokemon Center in the world will be able to bring it back" The voice stated in the most casual way despite the darkness of the subject.

( oooohhhhhh, my bad >.<)
After giving what was said a moment's thought, Ilyssabeth intructed for Seta to drink the vial. "Now can we get started? Or is there more?" She snarked allowing her pokemon to become prepared for battle.

"Hehehe. Only your death child!!!" The voice cried aloud, the temperature of the room dropping sharply as the stage ebgan to glow an eerie blue at it's edge, a shape flittering through the darkness like a shadow "Now my pet! Let your mind sink into shadow and release the evil within! GWAHAHAHAAHA!" As the voice cackled the room seemed to fill with such malice it was almost tangible.
Rotting body swaying slightly the Plusle would stagger forward, small decayed paws rising up to touch one another. The dead beasts tiny mouth opened slowly releasing a wail which soon turned in to a cackle to match it's master. A devilish gleam appeared in the back of the Pokemon's dead eyes, making it clear the creature was coming up with quite the Nasty Plot!
[As previously stated Akumu Academy uses a Turn-Based Table-Top RPG style combat system. Combatants take turns attacking and defending wityh a mixture of stats and dice rolls. The first Attack goes to whichever Pokemon has the highest SPD stat. In the event both Pokemon have the same SPD they will attack simultaneously.]
[Note that when your opponent is attacking you must defend. Defend means either attempting a block or dodge. It does not mean using one of your moves. Note however that as a block/dodge is canonically useless against moves such as Growl or Nasty Plot you'd instead try to cause some sort of distraction in order to screw up their focus. This can be anything from a shout, stomping about, juggling, or putting on a grass skirt and dancing the hula!]
[Now then, on to rolls. Every turn each participant will roll 1D20. This is called an Accuracy Roll. In order for an attack to hit, the person attacking must roll higher than the person defending.]
[For example say I rolled an 8 with Nasty Plot and your defense was a 12. Nasty Plot would fail and Plusle would move on to defense. Alternatively if I rolled a 15 and you rolled a 6, Nasty Plot would succeed, Plusle's SP-ATK raising as per the effects of the move, and he would then move on to Defense.]
[With me so far?]

A young man walked casually into the training room, a single Pokeball bouncing at his waist, fastened securely to his belt. There was an air of easy confidence about him, and his dress reflected his demeanor. He wore light grey jeans and a plain black tee, clothes that starkly contrasted with his own pale skin and bright, strawberry blond hair, hair that fell down his neck and into his face, partially obscuring his dark blue eyes. He grinned and looked around the room. He called out:

The sound of heels clicking echoed across the hall as the female wordlessly made her way to her destination. The long blue, almost white hair gently swayed at her back as Haruka came to a stop at the entrance. Adjusting the translucent scarf covering the lower half of her face to a more comfortable position, she moved again and made her way in, gazing at the others who were already here. It was strange; there were two pokemon battling, but only one trainer to be seen for all the battles. Either the trainer's opponents were all absent on a bathroom break in some bizarre coincidence of nature, or there was more to what she was seeing
'Odd...'she thought as she quietly made her way around to one of the walls. Leaning against the infrastructure, Haruka gazed at the fights, merely watching the action. There was nothing to analyze, really. It was just a simple fight, but that was more than enough to catch her attention. It had been her dream to become a pokemon trainer, and although this... wasn't quite what she had expected, she had no regrets.
Haruka didn't have anything against waiting, and by the looks of it she doubted she'd be left alone for long. Touching the pokeball at her waist belt, the female took out her Rufflet, which promptly jumped into her open arms to cuddle, eyes alert for any interesting events.

It was true, she wouldn't long be ignored as the sound of feet clicking on ground seemed to echo in the room. Though there would not appear anything ....as the voice would seem to come out of the thin air.
"You seemed to be waiting to battle ......are you ready to do war with me?"
The voice had a bit of a accent ....as the sound of movement continued to get closer and closer.
"If you want to wait, I will allow, but if not ....put your pokemon down."
The sound just traveled without any one source. The voice spoke without any connections to anyone at all.

Haruka was quick to separate from the wall as she heard footsteps coming her way. Hugging her Rufflet, she blinked as the voice echoed from seemingly nowhere in particular. The whole experience was rather disturbing, but fascinating in it's own right. Still searching for the origin of the voice, she listened to what it had to say, and nodded once as an answer. That accent though.... She could hear the voice.. thing... coming closer, but Haruka was no where near pinpointing the owner of this messenger, and after a while, the blue haired child wisely gave up on trying to find the source. Instead, setting her pokemon down as it suggested, she gazed in front of her, somehow quite sure that her overseer was around that vicinity. The freed Rufflet fluttered it's wings and took a few steps around, finally finding a good spot to sit, and started to groom it's feathers, oblivious of the current situation.
"Am I not to have the honor of seeing my opponent's face?"Haruka asked softly with an amused tone, eyebrow raised. It was ironic because she herself wasn't showing hers, but yet this foe.. friend? was truly taking obscurity to a whole new level. She didn't mind; they must have their own reasons for doing so. It simply meant that it would be a much more interesting match for both. Meanwhile, the Rufflet that had been nibbling on one of her feathers perked up at the word "opponent", and quickly fluttered to the front of where Haruka stood, ready for battle. She couldn't help but give an amused huff as she looked to her front again, soon becoming serious as she saw her first battle approaching. This feeling of exhilarating tension however, was something to be enjoyed.
..Addicting, even.
The child looked down intensely at the pokeball's intricate yet so simple mechanisms as her fingers lightly brushed against the black lining of the ball.
"...I am ready. Come."

Almost at the same moment that the bird touches down on the ground then a shimmer motion would seem to come from the floor itself as something would burst through the mat without leaving a single mark on the surface. Spinning once, the pokemon would smile as it landed on one foot with a huge grin on it's face.
"GIIIIIIIIIIIBLE!"
It announced it's presences happily as it's tail went from one side to the other, and it seemed to almost bragging in the way that it said it's own name as it looked at the bird and smirked. This was going to be easy pease.
"So, you wish to see me?"
The voice would speak then redirecting as much attention as possible from the showy Gible.
"I am sorry, but the rules don't allow it. It's to keep the urge for revenge down to a minimal, and, so no one can claim some sort of disfavor in who you are battling."
The accent voice explained.
"Now, as for the rules that deal much more directly with what is going to happen here ....to decided whether or not your entrant into this academy isn't merely a fluke ...you will battle with your new little pokemon. You have two chances to be successful, and if you fail both chances ...you will be dealt with in the way that all failures are dealt with."
The voice gave a pause here as it waited for the girl to absorb all that she had said for it was very important to her future. She wouldn't wait long to continue.
"You don't have a choice at this point not to battle, but, you do have one thing at this moment you can decided."
At those words, just like what had happen with the Gible earlier a potion would seem to shimmer into being by her feet. The potion itself sparkled a sickly blue coloration and the vial looked completely horrible as it was design like a soda bottle. It was clear how it was to be dealt with, for one would have to drink it.
"That potion ....you can choose to have your pokemon drink it or not. That decision is up to you, and before you think to drink it yourself ...I will assure you that it will make you very sick to drink it, but that it will not have that sort of an effect on your pokemon. So, the choice is yours, drink or don't drink."
"Make your decision quickly so that we may battle."
The voice would almost seem to gain a bit of impatiences at the last part. As if, she was ready to go whether the one in front of her was or was not. Though it did make one have to wonder how long she would wait before she actually struck if she decided to delay having her pokemon drink the potion.

The Gible apparently ruffled it's feathers because the Rufflet seemed to make a disdainful glance before smirking in it's own right, as if it wasn't worth the strife. The tension between the two were amusing, at the least, as Haruka set her eyes on the opponent's pokemon. The child raised her head as the disturbing voice seemed to echo around her without a source now, only to inform her that her wish would be impossible to fulfill. She nodded amicably; it was to be expected, and she had no qualms over it, although the fact that they'd thought ahead to such extents somewhat surprised her.
Listening on, she stared at the vial that had shimmered into view, and slowly walked up to pick it up, examining it while listening to the properties of the liquid inside. The voice sounded inpatient to start, but what to do with the vial...
'Well it's not like I have much of a choice, ne?'the girl thought to herself, standing still.
Looking on at the Rufflet who was peering over to glance at the item in her hand, she stared at it long and hard before popping open the vial and handing it over to her pokemon. It didn't take long for it to down the vial, but regardless, the trainer frowned slightly, biting her lips. She didn't like it one bit, having to trust this voice. The Rufflet seemed just fine, but it still went against her will to feed it something as unknown as this.
Now slightly disgruntled the trainer got back up, checking for any anomalies that the pokemon might show, although it seemed to be alright for now. Her chin stuck out defiantly as if challenging the voice to do it's worst.

The challenge was aimed and understood as the Gible would seem to stretch out it's fingers ...allowing the little claws on the tips to stand out further as the pokemon made it a point to mash it's teeth together. The sound of steel upon steel as it stomp it's feet in impatiences as it watched for the little bird to swallow. The pokemon's eyes seemed to light up at the sight of it as it seemed to be held back by something ...stopping it from attacking right off the bat.
"I see you have made your decision ...on more choices. Do you want me to show you the ropes of battles or ...do you want to simply, how do you say it ...wing it?"
The voice would declare as the little Gible seemed to be held back in such a way that the palm of the invisible person's hand could be see against it's skin. The pokemon pushing hard as it's eyes were set on the bird ...as it's foot claws would start to literally cut into the mat.
He was ready to go, and now, they only needed to make sure that they was as well.

The Rufflet puffed itself, ruffling its feathers while smirking at the Gible. The bird obviously wanted to flatten the opponent's nose and take it down a notch or two.
With her pokemon in position, she decided it would be a waste to wait as she complied.
"Bring it on."Haruka muttered while glowering at the opponent, arms crossed as she looked on at the battlefield. She'd seen enough pokemon battles to know the basics of what worked how, and this was one battle she couldn't afford to back out of, nevertheless lose. Her pride wouldn't let that happen, ever. In fact...
"Rufflet, peck."she commanded as the Rufflet complied, running in towards the Gible bravely. Whatever it threw at them they'd just have to return with more, and this first move was just the beginning.
[OCC: I know how Pokemon works, but I might mess up with the D&D part so bear with me? I'll be looking at previous posts to see what to do, but if I do make a mistake, do tell me. Dx]

"Good, I don't have to discuss this with you then."
The voice declares as the Gible's eyes would go wide at the incoming attack, and suddenly he would feel the force holding him back disappear. A smirk grace his face as his opponent got closer and closer. Their speed was the same, and so, he could see it that beak coming closer and closer. Though he decided he wasn't even going to think about dodging this one ...as he dug his feet into the mat. His arms were short, and it made things a bit harder on him in terms of grabbing and pulling, but he was used to it as he jumped just a bit.
As the Rufflet got closer and closer ....his timing seemed to be a little off as he allowed his body to go backwards. His claws would grab at the bird's beak as his back was aiming for the mat as he shot both feet upwards. If he did this right, that move would propel the bird over him and if he got it wrong ...well that beak was sharp and the bird would have the upper hand for a moment.
His move was simple ...a push past and over would have the bird being body slammed into the mat behind him.
The voice seemingly recognizing the move would call it late.
The new slim girl walked into the room, her eyes looking around a single pokeball in her hands. She was not sure what exactly she had to do besides proving she was worthy to enter the academy. She walked further in and had a look around.
As she looked around she saw a few other trainers some in battles others not.
