Well good morning... er, afternoon all.
How's everyone today?
Also, any ideas on what makes a good shikai? I'm not too sure myself.

Just putting the finishing touches on the last post give me 5 minutes then im done.
Any idea what direction you want your Zanpakuto to take, that is always a good start as in Element wise or whatever.

I don't want an element. It's far too overdone for my tastes.
And i just don't know what constitutes a shikai. From what i can gather the sky is the limit and i have no idea where to start.
Not to mention looking at other profiles hasn't helped... I just have less of an idea of what's viable. I need guidelines for this kind of thing. sweatdrop

-pets Naomi- @Arm-chan: So did you seriously not find a damn helpful thing after looking at the other profiles? That's really surprising, there's a lot of balanced things in there. Well, anyway. A Good Shikai is just basic abilities like a warm up for the true power (Bankai). I mean, I'd love to help, but I'm not going to make it for you. Anything I make up, I'm going to want to keep for myself. And I'm damn selfish, just ask my sister. So first I'd need a basis of the Zan and then we can work our way up. I mean, I'm just not a Zan factory, so to speak... @Xero: Okies.

Not at all.
What i've found is that everything has to be taken in context. Something that is OP to one person is completly viable to another. There is such a long range that i truly have no idea where to start.
I can't tell what truly makes a shikai or a bankai because they seem interchangeable in some cases.
It's like telling somone to paint you a portrait, but not telling them who to paint it of. There are just too many options to deal with...
I'm also struggling with making something that would be viable to impliment. In my creation process i wasn't going to have him use one, that is, not know how. On the other hand since i have to have one, i'm not really sure on how to make something that will be useful.
The same question of why make a single shot rifle when everyone is using repeating ones.
Functional and balanced is what i'm going for, and yet everything seems to be based on context.
It also doesn't help that i don't know rank or squad yet. You wouldn't be in the elemental squad if you didn't have an element for example.
Granted i'm not trying to gripe a ton, i'm just really unsure of what makes something good or bad. I'm not one to take a jump without first deliberating every possible option.
