((I heard a bit about that.... We in the middle of a chemistry test yesterday and all of a sudden our teacher just said, "Hey, there was a school shooting..." or something like that. We all kinda just went "whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!" We couldn't really believe it... But I didn't hear anything other than that about it. What happened? :< ))
Shin shrugged slowly, an unhappy look coming into his eyes. "I'm... not really sure. People just... do that. They like being in other people's business....." Shin was used to it. Everyone always nosed in on everything, no matter how sensitive it was. No... the more sensitive and painful it was, the more people prodded and poked it and wouldn't let it rest... Shin frowned slightly, his blue eyes looking troubled. But he cleared that away as quickly as he could -- he didn't want Haro to worry.
"It's be alright, though. We'll be alright..." he murmured gently to the other. "We'll be fine."

[[I'm not sure exactly what sparked it all... Basically this, I believe foreign exchange, student at Virginia Tech. University came onto the campus at like 7:00 or so in the morning and killed two people in a dorm (they think one of them was an ex girl friend). The security just thought it was a murder so they didn't alert the rest of the student body (this is HUGE college, mind you). Anyway, about two hours later, the guy walked fifteen minutes through the campus to a building, locked the exits and just went into class rooms and shot people. 33 people died, the shooter killed himself, students, and then two professors- One of which who was trying to get people out the windows because the guy was in another classroom on the same floor shooting and in the end he was shot through the door as he was trying to barricade it. It just makes me so sad. ._. I feel so bad for all those families.]]
Haro huffed out a sigh before rubbing the back of his hand against eye. He wasn't crying, he just had something in his eye... Maybe some salt, or something. "People don't care if they see some girl and some guy together," he mumbled in an almost cross tone, as if he were mad at the world for not accepting him on two counts,if not more. Not only could they never know about what he really was, he could never tell anyone he liked Shin as much as he did.
With an expression of near determination, the love bird turned to the white tiger, "When can I meet the rest of your family?" He asked with a tilt of his head, a flicker of a smile on his face as he leaned in close towards the older teen.

((I can't believe someone would do something like that. It's really terrible. ;^; ))
Shin had been about to start on the whole 'well, religion...' thing -- it was the best way he knew to explain it -- when the other suddenly changed (sort of) the topic. A momentary frown crossed his lips before he perked up into a smile. He had noticed the other's... "something-in-my-eye" act and wasn't going to buy it, but... he decided not to mention it, just in case it upset Haro.
"I'm... not really sure," he replied slowly. "I know I can get Ryan to come - and some of his family. But... I don't think you'll be able to meet Mum just yet..." At these last words, his face seemed to fall. His hands curled into loose fists, but it was apparent from his lowered gaze and the expression on his face, which he was trying to hide exceedingly unsuccessfully, that this was not a happy subject. He loved his mother dearly... but his family never let him near her, and it hurt him much more deeply than he ever let them know.

[[I know. T.T Apparently it was the worst school shooting ever... I liked hearing stories at least about, you know, teachers and stuff helping people escape and everything. It gives me hope. :c]]
"Well, I mean...I don't really have to meet them if you don't want me to. I can stay in my room," he murmured with something close to a smile. "I just don't think you see your family enough," he mumbled with a cautious expression. He didn't have much experience with families, but he was pretty sure they were supposed to be there for one another... and Shin never seemed to have anyone around that was related, and Haro thought that was a shame.
"Well... I don't have to meet her, but now that you're older maybe you're family will let you see her. I don't see how they could stop you though," he murmured in an almost confused voice as he looked up at the teen, who was looking increasingly depressed as the subject was prolonged.
If there weren't a counter between them, Haro would've kissed the tiger or maybe hugged him or probably both because he was so happy that Shin would see his family and that he might see them, too. Since the small teen wasn't an expert at balancing on bar chairs, he only got a peck on Shin's lips, but he figured it was better than nothing.

((On a (much) lighter note... I just finished y design for the school t-shirt. I hope it wins... D: )) "No, no... I'd like you to meet them," he murmured slowly, a small smile replacing the frown that had been threatening to take over. His eyes were soft and gentle all over again, though slightly saddened by the talk of his mother. "I'm sure they'd love you..." he added happily.
"I... well..." he flushed slowly. "I suppose I could go see her... only... that would break integrity. They asked me not to... so... there has to be some reason. I know they have my best interests at heart -- that's why I can't defy them. They love me too much, so... I... don't want to let them down," he explained slowly. He hoped that would make sense - but it probably wouldn't. For one, Shin would be surprised if Haro knew what "integrity" was. Still, he didn't want to be rude so he wasn't going to explain unless Haro asked (or appeared confused).

[[Aw, it's cute. Definitely has a bit of a punk vibe going there, but it's cute. XD]]
In...teg...r- rity?
The boy mulled over the word in his mind for a while, frowning a bit before dropping the thought. "Mnn, well... I don't think it's right that they told you not to see her. She's your mom," he mumbled, looking very frustrated with the situation. "I mean, if I had a mom-" Which of course, the boy did, but he had never met either of his parents, or so he figured since he couldn't remember anything about them, "-and she was sick, I would want to see her and make her feel better," he said with a tiny smile.
"Or I'd bring her some flowers, or maybe I'd make her a card," he added, wondering what else people did for the sick. Shin had made him this...water, which he couldn't drink but it was to smell and it ended up making him feel very groggy and tired...but he doubted one could bring a bowl of smelly water into a hospital. "Well, I really hope my mom isn't sick out there somewhere, but that's what I'd do if I could find her."

((The long and winding road... for some reason that just popped into my head. D: ))
Yesterday had been quite a... long day. Uneventful, thankfully, but long all the same, despite how the light hours were growing shorter. Shin stirred slightly from his sleep as a ray of bright sunlight filtered through the curtain and fell upon his eyes, closed though they were. His short indigo locks were scattered across his pale face, the difference quite constrasting. His eyes opened slowly, the saphire hues pale, and yet vivid at the same time. Several minutes passed before he finally sat up, a porcelein pale hand raising to brush back dark, tousled bangs from his sleepy eyes.
It had been nearly three weeks since he had found the bird -- nearly three weeks since he had stopped living alone -- and winter was growing colder. He shivered slightly, though he didn't really mind the low temperature and slowly stood up and stretched before loping silently to the bathroom to complete his usual morning tendencies. Christmas was approaching, and fast -- something that he would, more likely than not, have to teach Haro about... A small smile formed on his lips as his thoughts strayed to the petite lovebird. A towel draped over his wet hair, he exited the bathroom, bathed and clothed, and headed downstairs to make breakfast.

Small fingers pressed firmly up again frosted glass, golden-yellow eyes peered out at the winter scene as an under-dressed Haro watched as a small, brown bird who decided to skip vacation flew along the roof tops. With a hint of a smile perched upon his lips, the boy watched as the dark bird flew from house to house rather haphazardly. Haro hadn't seen many birds since the winter started, so it was always nice to see one, even if the one he saw was very bad at flying and something of a loner.
Cold prickling at his fingertips, the small boy shivered as he tore his eyes away from the silly little bird setting out to dive under his covers but a sudden thump stopped that specific train of thought. Looking around for the source of the sound, the pink-haired teen gasped sharply at a twitchy bird outside of his window. It was that dark, brown one... It must've flown stupidly into the glass. Placing a hand on the window-latch, the small teen hesitated for a moment. Shin had said...he'd said that he could have a pet. Well, a pet fish, that is... But this bird wouldn't really be a pet, Haro would just help it wake up, maybe feed it, and then let it back into the wild. Biting his lower lip, the boy opened the window slowly, trembling violently at the cold blast that came through the opening as he reached for the unconscious bird to bring it inside.
Closing the window quickly, Haro shook as he made a mental note to wear more than shorts and a skimpy, little tee to bed since it was winter as he set the little bird on his pillow. It was still alive, thankfully, its heart was beating fast under his fingertip. Bending down to examine the sparrow's wings, Haro froze as sounds of breakfast-making floated upstairs.
Petting the sleeping bird's head, Haro looked back at the open door before running a hand through bright hair. He'd tell Shin later about the bird he decided as he bounded down the stairs, making sure to close his door behind him.
[[Geez, that took way too long. vrysry.]]

Shin glanced up from the pot of oatmeal he was stirring as he heard the sounds that gave evidence that Haro had awoken. A slow smile formed on the pale teen's lips, his head angled gently downwards, his dark fringe hanging down before his pale eyes as he set the oatmeal to cook. It was always nice to have a hot breakfast on such cold mornings. He padded silently over to the cabinet and began to get out bowels and spoons and other such breakfast neccessities.
The tall, dark-haired male was currently dressed in a thickly knit pale-ish blue-gray sweater that looked as if it had once been more vibrantly colored, but its hue had eventually ebbed after many trips through the washing machine. His lower half was clad in a think pair of black jeans, which were just as faded as his sweater. His feet, too, were covered with a pair of soft, thick socks to guard against the frigid temperatures of the wooden (though in the case of the kitchen, tile) floors.
"Good morning," he said as Haro entered the room, glancing up from his preparations to give the boy a small, soft smile.

As soon as Haro's bare feet left the carpet he screeched something incoherent before running back up the stairs to the room he had officially started calling his own. Throwing on a sweater and a pair of socks, the small teen ran back downstairs with a lightly shocked expression. "It-It'ss...s-so c-cold down here," he exclaimed through chattering teeth as he danced around the kitchen in order to keep his toes from turning into cute, little ice cubes.

"Yes, it is," Shin replied simply, smiling softly as he watched Haro dance around the kitchen in a frantic attempt to keep warm. He stirred the oatmeal one last time, put the lid on and set the ladel down on it's holder. "How did you sleep?" he asked, catching the small boy midstride as he quickly wrapped his arms around the shorter teen, pressing a gentle kiss to his cheek.
Shin smelled... fresh -- like the lemon shampoo he used. It was always a... refreshing scent. Sharp, but comforting, alive but calm all at the same time. In other words, it was much like Shin himself. "Breakfast is almost ready, it just needs to sit for a bit...."

Sock-clad feet slid along the smooth, tiled floor a bit as the boy was captured by the evil, tiger-man-pirate who wanted to possess his horribly fragile soul or use him as live bait to call forth a dark monster from the seven seas--either option didn't seem like a good thing, so Haro squirmed in said soul snatcher's arms before looking up with a sugary grin. "Mmm, I had a wonderful night~" He murmured before explaining with lidded golden eyes that he had had a very nice dream about the tiger who was not evil whatsoever and furthermore, did not want to steal his spirit from his smaller-than-average body. "...And then we had some pie," he added as he finished the detailing of his apparently amazing dream. "--with cherries and stuff. I don't remember exactly but it tasted good in my dream," he said in a distracted tone as he voice trailed off...
"Ne, did you sleep okay?" He asked as he rubbed his nose against Shin's sweater, which wasn't a good idea because although sweater's tended to be very warm and pleasant if worn with a shirt underneath...they also tended to be very scratchy and sometimes even itchy. Rubbing at his nose in an almost comical fashion, the boy frowned before sneezing. "'Mm sorry," he murmured as he wriggled his way out of the feline's arms.

Evil? Soul-snatching? Shin shook his head slowly, a small laugh rolling off his lips as he smiled down at Haro. The tall teen had long since learned not to question Haro's... imagination. It really didn't lead to anything productive. "Sounds like a wonderful dream," he replied, loosening his arms slightly so that the boy could wiggle out and away. He paused a moment, then, thinking about his own sleep. "Yes, yes, I did," he replied. "I don't think I had a dream, though -- or at least not one I can remember.... But it was a good sleep, all the same."
He glanced from Haro's face and then to the pot on the stove, from which a quite nice aroma was wafting. Shin, his usual soft smile in place upon his lips, reached forward with a pale hand and turned to heat off, taking the lid off and stirring it once before he ladelled some into two bowls -- one for himself, and one for Haro. "Here you are," he said, handing one to Haro. "Everything else is on the table already," he said, gesturing over to where the syrup, honey, fruit, yogurt, silverware and other such neccessities had been placed neatly. He replaced the lid utop the pot and took his place at the table, feeling quite ready to eat breakfast. He was hungry, after all.

[[Eeeek, I was looking at hilarious KH comics zoned out.]]
Haro hummed in response to Shin's comment, murmuring a soft 'thank you,' at the offered bowl of hot oatmeal. Trotting over towards the table, the small teen stared hard into his bowl. The oatmeal was probably a little too sticky for birds, but the lovebird highly doubted Shin would have any seeds or fruits small enough for a little sparrow. Scratching at, more or less, pink hair, the teen pouted as he gazed upon the large array of sweet things to put in his breakfast. None of it would be small enough or good for a bird. With a frustrated, almost frantic, sigh Haro plucked up a spoon and decided that, for the moment, he'd eat his meal plain-- the lack of taste would keep his mind on feeding his pet.
"Hey...Shiiin~ Do you have...anything...uhm, that birds eat? I mean, besides fruit?" He asked sweetly as he looked up from his bowl with a hopeful expression.
Blah.
I got very bored. =w=; Sparrow isn't really ever mean to Haro (quite the contrary) but I think he would enjoy getting a rise out of him. :9 Sparrow has normal hair but I was lazy so I gave him emo hair so I wouldn't have to draw his other eye. -fail-

((Haha. Emo. 8D Sparrow looks yummy! >3 ))
Shin paused a moment to think, having already placed several slices of peach as well as some blueberries in his own oatmeal. He stirred it around with his spoon rather absent mindedly as he thought. "Well... I think I have some sunflower seeds...." he said with a small shrug. Perhaps Haro was wanting to... eat some more familiar food? He had been eating predominantly human food ever since he had met the tiger, so perhaps he missed it....
"But if you'd like, later, we could go out and buy bird seed? Sound good?" he asked, pausing to take a slow, incredibly neat, bite of his own oatmeal.
((Pleh short. D: ))
