Cadence listened intently, her two cat ears peering forward to not miss a single word he said. "Hmmm..that sounds intriguing." The neko mumbled, scratching her chin slightly. "It;s possible your mother was an ancestor of the Black Goddess...hmm..that's peculiar." Cadence was speaking to herself really, trying to remember something. "Kali....moral laws...all this sounds so familiar to me.." Cadence scratched her head, and let her feet pace back and forth. She was pondering now, and nothing would get her out of the quandry. "AHah!! I remember now! The Black Goddess was an evil empress whom reigned for hundreds of thousands of years. Unless, of course, I read a completely different book." Cadence said matter of factly, still pacing rapidly. She would turn her ruby hues up to Kenzi for a moment before dropping them back down to the floor. "Hmmm....peculiar.." Cadence had forgotten all sense of embarassment now, and all that amttered was the memorization fo the books she had read. "It is so odd, but I swear that name sounds vaguely familiar. I'm not sure if that description of her is true. Oh this is very troubling." The neko finally stopped, and turned to observe Kenzi's face. "I wonder...are you...'Moral Laws' rules from which you abide by? A life or death sort of rule?" Sometimes, Candence found books extremely helpful. Many called her a nerd, but it was times like these that she was content being a bookworm.

Kenzi listened to her ponderings...he had not read very much about this vampiric deity that had been called so many different things, but if this girl knew anything about her then maybe he w0ould not simply speak to her this once and then let her leave. Maybe she would actually be able to help him to dig up his mother's past and possibly his father's if she was not repelled by his past before he could ask her. The transgressions he was speaking of were of the tenth law...but he had never transgressed upon them before then so he sighed to himself just a moment before answering..."That's exactly what they are...they are my railing to grip as I walk through the dark tunnel of life which has led so many into corruption. To transgress upon them is to ensure death by corruption or death by the hands of a brother..." he said this and then finished his current thought with the realization that he'd spoken the words of his brother, in so mayny words...he wondered if he'd be seing his brother anytime soon. That would be interesting to find out...because if he was going to see him then he would appreciate the help of his brother in figuring out what he was. Who his mother was, what his father fel in love with, what they were involved with by being related to them...hoe many othere people he'd involved in whatever it was...Kenzi's brother and this girl who stood before him could be the key to getting the answered to those questions...

Cadence stared at him in utter shock and disbelief. "Y-You're saying...that if these laws are not followed...then you pay with your life! That is absurd!" Cadence gripped teh encyclopedia to her chest, her claws leaving indents from the pressure. It was then she noticed the damage, which caused the neko to completely freak out. "Oh no! I completely destroyed it...oh the librarian is going to have my h-head!" Cadence whined, burying her face into the destroyed encyclopedia. She had such a problem staying fixiated on one subject sometimes. Especially when others things acerted her attention so easily. And, as if Cadence were being washed away from a painting, her body blurred. Her entire body stretched out into one blurred pattern for a moment, but then returned immeadiately afterwards. Cadence did not seemed affected by teh odd string of events. "I-I'm sorry Kenzi...i jsut..love books is all.."

Kenzi nodded when she confirmed her understanding of his explanation of the Moral Laws. As she seemed to nervously pull her encyclopedia to her chest he saw that she was about to notice the damage he'd watched her do to it in just the past few minutes that he'd been near her and able to observe. He raised his brow when she began to worry about the librarian's reaction to her destruction of the Encyclopedia, and then blinked over and over again as he watched her body seem to spread and dissipate incompletely. He rubbed at his eyes and watched her body return to normal blinking a few more times as he looked at his hand in front of his face. "What an odd ability...do you do that on purpose?" he'd ignored her apology for it was not needed and wondered whether or not he really wanted to know what she had just done to her body...what was it that would posssess someone to do that anyway if they were able? Surely she could not be so upset over the encyclopedia that she wanted to do that...right?

A heavy sigh drifted past her pink lips, the book hanging limply to her side. All five nails rapped lightly against the cover, but her grip was so loose that it threatened to fall, once again, to the ground. If this is what it took to keep from damaging the literature any furhter then so be it. The other hand raked through her burgundy strands of hair, taking great care to not touch the celestial ribbon tied behind her bangs. When her mind slowly drifted back to the conversation at hand, Kenzi seemed intensely confused about something. had she done something bad again? Terror ripled through her body, and she could feel her tail wrapping carefully around her petite waist. for comfort. Cadence inhaled a steadying breath before answering with her eyes still focused upon the male. "I..can shapeshift into anything...s-s-sometimes...I suppose my abilities go somewhat haywire...I don't really practice with them." The neko had never fought in her life besides once, but it was a simple misunderstanding. The girl had ended up in the hospital for nearly two months due to her disadvantage. Cadence vowed never to use her abilities for revenge or fighting ever again after that. Not to mention she couldn't stand having to watch a battle play itself infront of her. The neko was too sensitive to even believe people could do such things to each other. "My abilities...I don't fight."
PostPosted: Wed Oct 04, 2006 9:08 pm

Kenzi raised his brow as she told him what her ability was that she'd used...shapeshifting? His brow had actually raised once his ears had met with the words "don't", "practice", and "fight". A shapeshifter that does not fight...what a waste. Maybe that will change some time... "Well...if someone were to attack you then you would use them for protection would you not? You would not go so far as to die instead of use your powers for violence of any kind...would you?" He crossed his arms pulling his hands out of his pockets and leaned back slightly with his brow no longer raised but his hair again covering most of his eyes. As he dug up his own past to find where the vow was most familiar from, an image appeared in both of their minds, a flashback from when he was less than 12 years of age. He had once vowed not to use his abilities for fighting...but it was when he was smaller and it had not lasted more than a year. It was the first time that he and his brothers had separated their forms, becoming individuals again isntead of one being and two demon-sides...

He had vowed not to use any of his abilities for violence and for a year he only used them to help his brothers...meaning he barely used them at all. This lasted up until there was a rather mean local who was pickingon his younger brother, Arcaine was just about to step into the verbal fight that had sprung between Haru and the boy but Kenzi pushed him back and walked over to the boy just as he was pulling out a knife apparently with intent to do harm to Haru, the youngest brother of the three. He grabbed the boy by the collar and threw him out of his younger brother's face and into a tree, making a small crack in it as the boy fell to the ground. "Is there a problem?" he had asked the boy, and the boy replied "Yeah..." there was a cough that projected blood onto the grass before him "...I don't like you and your brother's the stupidest piece of sh-" Before the boy finished the word Kenzi threw a wave of mare energy at him and watched him jump from the odd pain. He walked over to the boy, picked him up and as he flailed-before he began to protest-he gave him a reason for his sudden breaking of his vow, "You don't touch my brothers and live..." The next sounds was of Kenzi's claws digging deep into the side of the boy's face. As the boy screamed Kenzi just watched and Haru was shocked, Arcaine proud. Kenzi pinned the boys face against the ground for just ten seconds before pulling him off of the ground and throwing him again...the boy tried to stand and Kenzi used his Dark Lightning for the first time, a forbidden attack meant only for royal Wraith families or to protect your family-barely even used as a last resort in a battle, A ball of Dark Lightning appeared in his palm which was outstretched and reached out at least a two foot radius from his wrist, the energy concentrating and making contact with the boy, splitting him open in three different places. The boy bled to death on that day and it marked the beginning of Kenzi's malicious ways.

With his first murder came satisfaction that he'd definitely made his point...but when he was finished there were consequences that followed and though they were not shown in the flashback. He realized that he'd been thinking through the connection to her mind and his eyes widened as he realized it, he said nothing though and kept silent his eyes returning to their regular size and staring at her mid-waist and past her at the ground behind her. It seemed to him that this would repel her away and that their entire meeting of each other will have been pointless...but at the same time he was curious how such a peaceful person would react to such visuals...

Cadence chuckled nervously, fiddling with each of her claws habitually. IOt wasn't on a normal day that the neko spoke of her abilities, but what was more surprising was how damaging her Sound Manipulation really was. She, being so peaceful, never was willing to admit it to anyone. "I don't fight unless someone I care for is in danger. Even then I don't do much...separate them really." Cadence's ears disappeared into the mass of burgundy locks. "If I can avoid using my powers I do at all costs. My powers are for fun, and I use them as such." Her voice seemed to hollow out as she spoke, and both ruby optics fell to the dirt threshold. She must have looked pathetic to Kenzi, and she expected a shocked reaction from the male. No one ever believed her when she said that sort of thing. "If I d-d-die..then it will be for protecting my family and friends." There was a deep satisfaction within the rich words, and it made the neko smile. Fighting never solved anything, but if her life were taken to save others then...well fine. Not many cared for the neko anyway so it would not be such a great loss.

Both pupils dialated as the images flashed through her mind like a shirt horror film. Just watching the horrors made her stomach churn with a deep uneasiness. The boy...such a mixture of emotions..Cadence could barely believe that this was being played within her head. Was this Kenzi? Her entire body shook with a mixture of sadness, sickness, and anger. There was no way someone could try and kill off the boy, who was apprently Kenzi's younger brother, because he was not liked by the other child. Then again, the protection of his brother seemed a little too violent as well. By the time Kenzi had literally blasted the young child to bits, Cadence could barely continue standing. So much hate was pouring into her body while her heart rejected every bit. The menacing vision was a disease to the neko-something that would have made her collapse besides the fact she was still in Kenzi's presence. She certainly did not want to faint infront of him. Once the horrible vision faded from her mind, Cadence vomitted the contents of her stomach off to the side. That was one thing, she decided, she had a right to do.

Whole body shaking, Cadence turned her teary-eyed gaze back up to Kenzi. Who, oddly enough, seemed curious to what her reaction would be. The neko blinked several times at the male, brushing away the vomit from her mouth with a flick of her wrist. Cadence was very willing to go and run, but her feet refused to move. Something about the mysterious male made her stay. Cadence wanted to help him, and for some reason, there was a deepening hope that she could do something right for once. Coughing once, her back arched slightly to gain better posture; also, to get a better veiw of Kenzi. Cadence was only 5'3" so it was quite difficult for her to see much of anything. The salty tears were flowing from her round orbs finally showing the full affect of the sharing of thoughts. "P-P-Please...don't think because I c-c-cannot watch that..i-i-it doesn't mean I-I-I'm n-n-not s-s-strong.." Cadence whispered, nawing on her lower lip. She would not leave him here alone. She was tired of running away from problems. The neko was determined to help, and that was her decision.

Kenzi listened to her explain why she was not going to use her abilities for violence, this being efore the images happened and before he started to think about the past, and when she had begun to finish he had zoned out, the last word he heard being "d-d-die". When the image was over it had taken him a while to snap out of it, but as he watched her sick expression and saw her fall he leaned over her quietly. She puked and he blinked a few times covering his nose from the stench and waiting for her to explain herself...When the explanation came though it did not seem to be good enough for him and he continued to raise his brow at her in what seemed like disappointment. He kneeled down by her and looked in her eyes as she cried, "Because some things make you sick does not make you weak, letting it change your decisions about something would be what made you weak. You did not change your mind on anything based on that did you?" he raised both of them curiously, wondering whether or not she might of and he had no real reason for encouraging her about it afterall...that would not be the best of things to happen, though he did not need to scare her off anyway and soon would have to pop the question he'd been waiting to ask for so long.

Cadence shook her head vigorously, rubbing her eyes free of the wetness. "I guess it doesn't...b-but--" The neko didn't have a chance to continue her whining as the second part of the statement vibrated through her acute cat ears. Was she really not going to run away crying? It seemed a little far-fetched that she was being so brave. Cadence had never been able to watch anything so gruesome in her life without having to run off to a secluded area. Just so the crying would finally cease. With a heavy sigh, Cadence shook her head once more, turning her gaze up to his. "I refuse to...l-leave." There was a firmness in her tone that had not been there a moment before, and the stern, yet gentle, expression she had was proof enough. The neko would stand by Kenzi as long as she could. there had to be something she could do. "Look at me...Cadence is s-s-such a crybaby.." Cadence chuckled shakily, using her baby blue dress shirt to mop up her face some. How in the world did Kenzi want to stay around with her? She was so pathetic.

Lee walked into the library, his hair down, eyes down, both purple at the moment. The life force holding him in this world was fading and he could not bare how it felt. His heart pounded and his body was flowing with his elements. He doesnt see anyone and is loosing control as fire rushes up his arm and dies out. The winds swirled around him and the ice rushe through his veins as an ember tear fell from his cheek. His eyes went crimson red and his power grew. None of his power touched any of the books or students but it was raging wildly. "Curse those who took her away from me," he said in a low voice.

Raven ran her hand across the rows of books absentmindedly, looking for one that popped out at her. She knew there was something in one of them about her and Jalynn from long ago. In fact, she remembered reading a story on Jalynn inside a book somewhere, but she couldn't remember how long ago it was.

She thought perhaps it might give her an idea as to what she was doing back at Ria. She had never been a student, not technically.

Her thoughts wondered, her confusion grew, along with her impatience. Raven had never been a very patient girl. The distractions of both these things caused her to bump right into a man with purple hair. She backed away surprised. He looked angry and she was sorry she had bumped into him because of it.

"Sorry," she muttered. She wasn't afraid of him. Wasn't afraid of anyone. She just hadn't spoken to anyone since she had been there.

Lee looked from the ground to the woman who had bumped into him and felt his power subside slowly. "Its alright, I wasnt looking," he said, fighting the wolf and its emotions. It wanted control but Lee kept it back. His eyes went from red to purple quickly and his power fully disapated from eye view. "Im unstable at the moment, so I should be appologizing," he said with an emotionless face. He wasnt meaning to bump into anyone, just a place to roleover and pass away.

"No you weren't looking, but neither was I and for that I am sorry."

It was unlike Raven to be talking to anyone at all, let alone not be angry at this man she did not know for being in her way. But she had her mind on other things besides her uncontrollable, and seemingly endless, anger. She looked to her right for a moment, her hand resting on a book and a smile came to her face. It's title wasn't obvious, but it was a book on fallen angel's and powers. One that she knew she had seen before.

"But, thanks to you, I found this."

She pulled the book off the shelf and held it up so that he could see it.

"Been looking for it for hours."

Lee looked back to the groound at the ember tear drop and icked it p from the ground. "Well, you helped me aswell by making sure I didnt explode, interupting the process of the change," he said trying to smile. The beating of his heart still slow and unable and his veins still burning with his fire summon. Lee bowed lowly, "thank you and your welcome I guess," he said in his regular voice.

"Well I suppose I helped everyone then. Don't want a wolf running around here eating the poor students, now do we?"

Or maybe we do, she thought to herself.

She winked at him and slipped the book into her orange backpack. If people didn't remember what happened a few years back when Jay had been around it was best not to bring up Jalynn to remind those that did remember. With that thought it was probably best to introduce herself as Raven, not Raen.

"I'm Raven, by the way. Telepathy and shapeshifting are my specialty, so if you ever need a playmate in your wolfish games," she gave him a playful smile, "You know where to find me. Well, probably here."

What was going on with her? She really must have been in a good mood that day, or rather grateful for his help, though it was unintentional. It was help, nonetheless and she couldn't be angry with him for no reason. It was just unlike her to be smiling and talking. But one couldn't stay silent forever. Especially not Raven, whether her thoughts be friendly or not.
