He smiled as she hugged her, wrapping his arms her as well. It was the first time he ever felt like this. "Kaori-chan, arigato," he said softly, bearly audible.

One of Kaori's pointed ears twitched just slightly as she strained to catch his words. After a moment spent making sure she'd heard right, she looked up at him, but still didn't let go. "For what?" she asked quietly. She hadn't done anything.. Why would he be thanking her? It was him who was being so great.

He laughed. "You've made me so happy. I've haven't felt this happy since..." he thought for a moment, "since I was actually alive," he smiled down at her. Although his life was sketchy, he remembered feeling this way once before, but it wasn't the same reason.

Above the forest a purple light shone and crashed into the ground blowing up a good chunk of the ground around the object. Mergex..or rather EEF climbed out of the crater. Only a few minutes left. It'd had been so long. This place. He'd destory it first thing when he was brought back.

Kaori paused for a moment, just looking towards him. Then she shook her head faintly. "Well, I... I'm glad we're able to make each other so happy," she murmured and then slowly looked around. "Do you want to... finally explore this place like we were originally?" But then she shrugged, knowing she'd be fine even just staying here. Her eyes darted towards the sky at a sudden purple light and she frowned faintly at it, hearing the distant rumble of a crash in the distance.

He quickly turned his head, the purple light fading and turning into a loud crash. "How 'bout we go explore what that noise was, first?" he suggested, smiling down at her, "someone might be hurt, after all." Something is weird about that crash, he thought, but all the same, gotta make sure.

Kaori nodded and stood, since that had actually been what she was thinking as well. "K," she murmured. "It was... this way, right?" she asked, pointing to their left. She slowly adjusted the sword on her back, since it'd been shifted from her fall and all the time spent sitting down. Then she checked to make sure her hidden dagger was in place and dropped her necklace back under her shirt.

"Yea, I think it was," he said as they started walking. He didn't know what they'd find when they got there, but he hoped it wasn't anything to life threatening, or they'd both be in trouble. "Kaori-chan, we should be careful, just in case," he said softly, as they approached closer to the scene.

Kaori nodded, face setting itself in determination. "Stay behind trees, out of sight..." she murmured quietly as she walked forward. Her boots barely made a sound against the grass as she walked, unlike how loud they'd been earlier when she hadn't cared. Her right hand was behind her back, reaching over her shoulder to grip the large sword, just incase she needed to use it quickly. Her tail swished very slowly back and forth behind her as her eyes narrowed just slightly. Unlike a moment ago, now she was very much on edge, gaurd up, as she waited to see what they'd find.

He kept his arms to his sides, looking fowards towards a small cloud of smoke. He wasn't sure what it was, but he started wondering if it was an alien, although he knew it wasn't; just a fun thought. He kept his mind focused, just incase he'd need to summon his syth quickly.

Kaori glanced at him and then ducked behind a tree as she peered around it. Her eyes widened slightly as she saw a rather large crater. As the dust and rubble began to clear, her eyes narrowed again as she tried to figure out if she really had seen a figure in its midst. Her mouth opened in a silent gasp as she saw Mergex, and she quickly pulled back out of sight.

He turned his gaze to her, hiding behind a nearby tree. "What's is it?" he whispered to her, wondering if she knew what'd happened. He looked over and raised an eyebrow, seeing Mergex. What... is going on? he thought.

Kaori glanced back at him, whispering almost fearfully. "That's the guy who killed his own brother because his brother couldn't kill all of us! He's Gordon's enemy and he said he wouldn't invovle me in the fight, but I don't trust him..." She chewed her lip nervously, one hand still on her sword as she chanced another look at him.

"This doesn't look good," he said, looking back at Mergex. His own brother, he though, his eyes narrowing, this guy is seriously twisted, in otherwords. Sai couldn't shake a feeling that this guy would deffinitely come after them had he known they were there.

Kaori frowned, biting her lip nervously. She grabbed her tail with her free hand so it'd stop thumping against the tree she was leaning against. Her other was still holding her sword's hilt, knuckles white from her grip. She was mentally debating if she should leave, or stay and try to see what he was doing. She glanced towards Sai nervously, not wanting him to get invovled either.
[Haha, that's fine. My stomach's grumbling too. >>;;]
